Holiday Love

Chapter 3

It had been several days since the Mystery Shack's holiday party, and Pacifica was still mad at Dipper. She'd not only kissed him but had spilled out her heart to him, and he just called her his friend. Dipper, on the other hand, felt incredibly terrible for his words. He shared her feelings, and their intimate kiss was extraordinary. Despite his efforts to apologize, she refused to talk to him. She tried to avoid him as much as possible, refusing to accept his calls, delete his emails, and request other waitresses at the Greasy's Diner take his order whenever he came to talk to her.

At school, it was tougher to ignore him because they were in almost every class together, and they were also lab partners. During group work, Pacifica would have Dipper do certain parts of assignments on his end of their lab table while she did the others on her end.

To make matters worse for Dipper, his social life was not going so great either. The thing about Candy and Grenda, when it came to secrets about Mabel, they could keep them; but if it was about Dipper instead of his sister, then they would blabber all over social media and around the school. As such, the whole student body had learned about how bad he'd fucked up. Most, if not all, were on Pacifica's side. None would talk to Dipper, while most gave him disapproving glares.

However, there was one who was happy about the whole situation.

In between classes, Dipper was putting some books away from the previous class and getting out other books for the next one. That was when she came up, leaning against the locker next to his. "Hey Dipstick," Tiffany, one of Pacifica's ex-friends turned rival, cooed.

"Augh!" Dipper groaned in annoyance. The magenta-haired girl had been trying to get a date with Dipper ever since the beginning of high school, mainly because he'd become quite handsome, and because she knew it would piss off Pacifica badly. Considering what was going on between him and Pacifica right now, Dipper wasn't surprised to see her making a move now; nor was he shocked to see her in a tight-fitting Santa-themed top, that showed off her upper curves, and a very short skirt that almost violated the school dress code.

"What do you want Tiffany?" Dipper said in a cold, unhappy tone of voice.

"Woah easy there," she said, unmoved by his comment. "You shouldn't be making enemies when the whole school is giving you the silent treatment."

"I wish you were one of those people," Dipper commented.

Tiffany pretended, though not realistically, to be hurt by this, but then started laughing. "Oh, such a cold one. No wonder why you broke Pacifica's heart."

"It was a complete misunderstanding," Dipper protested.

"Hey, I'm not backlashing you. I think you did the right thing. I mean, if Pacifica hadn't dumped me as a friend, I would've done that to her eventually. What with her family losing most of their wealth and all. The point is, she had it coming."

Dipper crossed his arms in disgust while giving Tiffany the death glare. "That's cold. Even for you."

"Says the guy who broke his best friend's heart."

"Ooooohhhhh, burn!" said a passing student, which got Dipper and Tiffany's attention for a brief moment. When he was gone, Tiffany returned her focus to Dipper, pulling out a piece of paper from her purse.

"Look when you decide to come around, there's a mistletoe hanging on my front porch. Here's the address," she said, handing him the paper. "My phone number's also on there. So if you're interested, call me."

Dipper was about to reply by saying he would never be interested. But before he could say a word, Tiffany leaned over and kissed him on the cheek. This left him shocked and flustered at the same time. He was only snapped out of it when he heard a muffled gasp coming from behind.

Turning around he saw Pacifica standing there, eyes and mouth wide open and her books dropped next to her feet.

"Pacifica… Um… I… I can explain…"

But before he could, Pacifica slapped him hard on the cheek; the same one Tiffany had just kissed. She then turned away, hiding the tears that had begun to come out of her eyes. "You know what, just don't talk to me again," she said running off.

"Wow, what a wuss," Tiffany commented.

Turning his attention back on the magenta-haired slut, Dipper, whose teeth were grinding together in anger, ripped up the paper with her address and phone number, and threw the tiny pieces back at her. "Never come anywhere near me AGAIN!" he shouted.

A little creeped out by his attitude, Tiffany slowly backed away before heading off down the hall.

Once she was gone Dipper was just left there by his locker to realize that his situation with Pacifica had just worsened by a hundred-fold.

"Son of a bit-"

Pacifica didn't show up to any of her other classes for the rest of the day. Word had it, she went home sick, though Dipper knew exactly why she'd left.

He felt terrible inside. His heart ached with regret and longing. He hadn't realized just how much he liked Pacifica until she'd closed herself off from him. He missed her warm laugh, her enthusiasm for fantasy games, her love for deep-fried foods, and the way she would stick it to her parents whenever she wanted to do something fun that didn't fit their overly high expectations. Pretty much everything about her, Dipper missed, most of all he just missed her presence.

When the final bell rang, Dipper was walking out of the school. Everyone was cheering because it was the end of the day and that meant the start of the holiday break, though the young Pines' mind was on Pacifica. Had it been a bit more open to his surroundings, he would've seen Mabel and her BFFs running towards him with glares directed at him.

Next thing Dipper he was being tackled onto the ground and dragged into a nearby, vacant, classroom.

"Pacifica didn't show up for lunch, and we had plans to meet with her then!" Mabel practically shouted at her twin, much to his shock

"People say she went home sick but we saw her earlier today and she was as healthy as a hoarse," Candy said.

"Best we can come up with, you screwed up again, Pine boy," Grenda spat, bashing her fist together to intimidate Dipper; which was working as Dipper tried to move away from the girls, only for Grenda to grab hold of him and lift him so that his back was pressed up against the whiteboard.

"What did you DO?!"

Dipper sighed, knowing he couldn't hide anything from Mabel or her friends. So, he reluctantly recapped what had transpired with Tiffany in the hallway. The girls were mad; however, their anger was more directed at Tiffany.

"That little SLUT!" Mabel shouted after her brother had finished explaining what had happened.

"She's so going on my top ten list of people I wanna put in a headlock," Grenda stated. "Right at the top!"

Candy simply cursed in Korean.

"Anyway," Dipper said, "Could you please let me down?"

The girls returned their attention to Dipper, and they still had angry looks, now directed at him.

"No way hosay!" Grenda said.

"Why?" Dipper asked. "Tiffany kissed me. And it's not like I kissed her back or anything."

"She wouldn't have attempted such a bold move if you hadn't broken Pacifica's heart at the party," Mabel reminded.

As much as it pained him, Dipper had to admit his sister was right. "I know. I know. I screwed up. And now Pacifica, the girl I think I love, hates my guts."

Eyes widened as the three girls heard Dipper say the love part. "So you do have feelings for her," Mabel said.

"Yes," Dipper confirmed. "But what can I do? As I already said, Pacifica hates me. She won't even glance at me," he said dropping his head in defeat.

Mabel and her friends could see the pain in Dipper's droopy expression. He was upset, it was obvious. They couldn't help feeling remorse for him. Grenda even lowered Dipper back onto the ground and let him go.

"Don't worry bro-bro. We'll help you win her back," Mabel said, patting her twin on the back.

Dipper wasn't expecting this. "Seriously?"

"You're our friend and so is Pacifica," Candy stated. "You both have feelings for each other. So it only makes sense to bring you two together."

"And also, we've been shipping you two for months," Grenda added.

"Dipifica to the end!" Mabel chanted.

Dipper should've been surprised by this, however, considering how well he knew his sister and her friends, he wasn't. "Right… So what should I do? She won't talk to me, and I've tried everything."

"How about an early Christmas present?" Mabel suggested.

"Yeah," Grenda agreed.

"I like it," Candy added.

"Hmmm…. Now that you mention it, I did buy her the new Bloodcraft game for Christmas. I suppose I could give it to her early. Bet she'd be excited to play it."

Grenda and Candy looked at each other before shaking their heads in disapproval, while Mabel slapped her forehead.

"That's not gonna win her heart," Candy protested.

"Yeah, there's nothing romantic about video games," Grenda stated.

Dipper turned to Mabel. "They're right bro-bro. You need something romantic if you want Pacifica to see you as more than a friend."

"And what could I possibly get her that would do that?" Dipper asked.

"Hmmm…. Something special. Something romantic. Something glamorous." Then it hit Mabel. "And I know just where to find it."

To be continued…
