"Ahh, come on Shibi just hear me out. You can't say it's not the worst plan you've ever heard." Tsume said as she walked with one of her oldest friends, Shibi Aburame.

"I never said I do not agree. I only nodded as you spoke." Shibi said in his usual subdued voice.

"Oh please. We both know how you think. Your nods usually mean you're not even paying attention." Tsume snapped.

"But I was listening."

"OK then, what were we talking about?"

"You want to have the clans adopt the Jinchuriki." Shibi said simply.

"No, not the Jinchuriki. I want to adopt Naruto. He has a name Shibi and we all know that."

"And we all also know what Lord Third meant when he said no single clan shall have the child Tsume. I know that you can understand that rule." Shibi looked at his friend with the Aburame equivalent of a scowl.

Tsume flinched at seeing her friend give her such a look. "I know. But, I don't want him to have to suffer ok. Kushina and Minato were our friends. Do you think their child should deserve this? Heck look at yours, would you want him to have to go through this?"

Shibi looked away for a moment before sighing. "Please don't use my child in this kind of subject. We both know what my answer would be."

Tsume smiled as she knew that was a sign that her friend would help. "Good. So you'll agree to it then?"

"No."

Tsume was shocked to hear his reply. "What! Why not."

"Tsume, let me ask you something. Do you think the child would do alright with my clan?"

Tsume thought about it for a moment as realization came to her. "I guess you're right. So you won't help then?"

"I never said I wouldn't help."

Tsume looked at her friend in amazement at what he said. "You mean?"

Shibi looked at his friend as a small smile could be seen from behind his jacket. "Yes. I will support you in this. My problem is with the other clans."

"What do you mean?" Tsume asked.

"Well it is very unlikely that the Akimichi will take the boy. And if that's the case then the rest of the Ino-Shika-Cho trio will do so as their decisions usually come together."

Tsume nodded. She knew that the Akimichi had been heavily affected by the Kyuubi due to many of them being at the front lines during the attack.

"I do see the Uchiha wanting the boy as they do have the legal right to him. The Sarutobi would likely not take him as Lord Third hasn't adopted him and has instead put him in the hands of the orphanage. However I do see him agreeing to having his clan watching over the child from afar. And then there's the Hyuga."

Tsume was a little confused on his wording of the last clan as she looked at him. "What about them?"

"Well. If they did agree to take him then their elders would most likely put the seal on his head. In a way they would gain the most control over the boy as a result."

Tsume's face became that of horror as she realized what that meant. "Hiashi wouldn't let that happen though. And I don't want that baby to be branded by that seal. He doesn't deserve to be enslaved like that."

"And yet if Hiashi agreed to this with the rest of us then he most likely would have to. Remember the Hyuga clan does things much more differently from the other clans."

"I know, but I can't let that happen."

"Then why don't I help with the discussion." A voice sounded from behind the two. Tsume jumped as she turned to see Hiashi standing behind her with a small scowl.

"When did you get here? And, how much of that did you hear?" Tsume asked as she looked at her old teammate with a look of embarrassment on her face.

"Enough." Hiashi said simply. Tsume knew she was in trouble as she tried her best to not look at the man.

"Look, um. I'm sorry, ok. This whole thing has just been…" Hiashi held up his hand to stop her as he spoke in his usual subdued tone.

"I understand how you feel Tsume. I wouldn't want that child to suffer from my clan's ways. So I'll do this. I will give my support for your cause." Tsume beamed as she thanked the man who only gave a small smirk.

"Thanks you two." The two men only nodded as the three left for the village council chambers for the meeting that would change everything.
