During Goku's original journey through the world he calls home, he would often come into contact with a variety of different characters. Ranging from an eccentric boy crazy daughter of a famous scientist, to a shape shifting pig with perverted thoughts of getting into a girl's panties. During this adventure, he came to meet one very important person within his life - Princess of Fire Mountain, Chi-Chi. Though brief, their interaction would lead to the birth of one of Earth's greatest heroes. But in this timeline, there is one added element that may throw a wrench in proceedings...

Goku and his friends were going through the large expansive desert, with the heating beating down on them. The lightly dressed Ayote saw her friends falling behind, causing her to look back with concern.

Ayote: "Everything okay, guys? Surely you're used to the heat too, Goku."

Goku: "Easy for you to say... The sun was never this hot..."

Oolong: "How can you be so used to the heat...?"

Ayote: "On Master Roshi's island, the heat did some times get really hot, especially in the hot summers where the sand was a grainy furnace. That and this sun hat I wear does help keep the heat from me."

Bulma: "Ugh... Maybe I should've taken that shopping deal back in West City when I had the chance before leaving on this stupid quest..."

Bulma then sits next to a boulder as she starts to complain about the heat and how little water they had. Goku does admit to being very hungry too. The thought of food does get to the older Saiyan as she turns to the tall rock structure next to them and starts jump up the side to climb it. At the top, Ayote begins to scan the area. She spots some blue in the distance... Some sparkles... Then her face beamed as she spotted an oasis in the distance!

Ayote: "Hey, guys! I found an oasis!"

Goku, Oolong, and Bulma perk up as Ayote jumps down.

Bulma: "Ayote you life saver! Where is it?"

Ayote: "It's not close unfortunately. It's quite a walk on foot..."

Goku: "Ugh... I'm so hungry I can't even call Nimbus..."

Bulma: "And my scooter's out of gas... Ugh..."

Ayote: "I could carry one of you."

Oolong: "You mean 'all three of you', riiiight?"

Oolong leans towards Ayote, smiling while raising and lowering his eyebrows. Oolong is face planted into the nearest boulder as Ayote continues to speak with her more sane friends.

Ayote: "I meant what I said; only one of you is coming with me. While the heat doesn't bother me, I am getting hungry too. And I'm not exactly a big bulky Saiyan."

Ayote outstretches her arms, showing that she was... fairly small. Average in terms of human girl height and width, but that did mean she couldn't carry two people. Let alone two people and a perverted pig. Bulma sighs then plays "Rock, Paper, Scissors" with Goku to determine who would go to the oasis with Ayote. Bulma ultimately wins 2 out of 3, allowing her to leave with monkey girl friend.

Ayote: "Before I carry you, Bulma. It might be safer to leave the Dragon Balls with Goku and the pig."

Bulma: "Huh? Why?"

Ayote: "It's going to be bumpy and if we lose the Dragon Balls - or worse, your radar - then that may complicate things. I would rather keep our visit in the desert as brief as possible."

Bulma sees logic in her line of thinking and nods. After instructing Goku to keep the Dragon Balls safe while she and Ayote are away, Ayote carries Bulma piggyback towards the oasis. However, not far from their makeshift camp, a desert bandit and his tiny cat companion watch as the girls leave, smirking in the shadows.

Ayote and Bulma go about gathering food and water to stock up their camp with, with the human pulling out a capsule containing a refridgerator to store the food in. A brief flashback at the river crossing shows Ayote grabbing Bulma's case of capsules when Oolong tried to make a run for it. Bulma thanks her lucky stars to have someone as observant and reflexive as Ayote around.

Bulma: "So Ayote. Mind if we continue that talk? From before? I am still curious about you Saiyans."

Ayote: "Sure, I guess. What do you want to know?"

Bulma: "Well... What is your planet like? Is it anything like Earth?"

Ayote: "Not even close. I'd describe our planet as... technologically superior in some ways, but culturally inferior in others. We had a lot of technology from the Frieza Force, including our armor and scouters. But we otherwise lived pretty simple lives. Unless you were an Elite or the royal family."

Bulma: "Royal family?"

Ayote nods as she tries her best to remember the brief visage of King Vegeta, cape and all.

Ayote: "We lived in a monarchy - a single Saiyan to rule them all. King Vegeta is best described by mom as... "A douche with way too high a bark and none of the bite to back it up". She hated the king for a variety of reasons, including using Saiyan women as mere tools to create a son that could be considered a worthy heir. Any that didn't hold up were killed on the spot and those that did give him what he wanted were tossed out like trash. To put it simply, whatever happened to King Vegeta, he most certainly deserved it and I doubt anyone would mourn for him."

Bulma: "That doesn't sound like a king I want to be working for... But okay. What about... Reproduction?"

The Saiyan gave Bulma the most 'Are you serious' type of look Bulma had ever seen. It genuinely sent a chill down her spine; not since her own mother did she get a thorough mental talking to. But Ayote sighed and shrugged.

Ayote: "We reproduce roughly the same as you humans. Though for Saiyans it was mostly out of necessity than any genuine affection. My dad - or whoever I'd call him - basically walked out on my mom after I was born with a subpar power level. I was basically no 'Elite' to him. When I said Saiyans weren't good people, I kind of meant it. But it does go back to Gine and Bardock. Those two could be what you consider "a couple", Saiyans that showed genuine affection towards each other. Honestly, my mom was jealous of Gine for actually keeping a relationship with her mate."

Bulma: "Fascinating. What about you, Ayote? Do you feel a certain way about anyone? Affection, I mean."

Ayote: "Aside from the familial type with Master Roshi? ..."

Ayote blushed a bit as she grabbed a piece of pineapples and split it open to eat it.

Ayote: "Anyway, I think I've answered enough questions. Anymore and I swear I'll go insane..."

Bulma: "I guess we do have enough food and water now... Oh, but before we do leave. I do have one last question."

Ayote: "Ugh... What is it?"

Bulma: "What do you plan on wishing on the Dragon Balls, once we find all seven?"

Ayote paused as she looked Bulma, taken aback by the sudden question. Bulma did remember Ayote's specific question about bringing back the dead, so it might have something to do with that she assumed. And she assumed right.

Ayote: "...I... want to revive my mom... Roshi is sweet and all, and I do treat him like the grandpa I never had... But I miss her... She'd show me genuine kindness... And in the last hours of her life, she chose to sacrifice herself and save me instead of herself. I..."

Bulma looked at Ayote before embracing her, calming the Saiyan down as she noticed her getting a bit emotional. Ayote softly returned the hug. Once the capsule stuff was pocketed away, Bulma climbed onto Ayote's back and the two made their way back to camp.

As the two girls came back, they see Goku fighting with a rather handsome young man, dressed as a bandit. The bandit was about to finish the hungry and weakened younger Saiyan off before he stops upon seeing, not just one girl, but two.

Bandit: "Wah! T-Two g-g-g-g...!"

Cat Companion: "Oh no! Master Yamcha, we need to go now!"

Yamcha: "R-Right you are, Puar!"

The duo then get on their getaway vehicle, driving off without the Dragon Balls as Ayote and Bulma just blink in utter confusion. But Bulma was also blushing profusely, having met a rather attractive young lad in Yamcha. Ayote just sighs before letting Bulma off and checking on Goku; he was alive but very hungry. Which meant food was now a priority.

Later that night, after setting up the Capsule House to sleep in, Bulma is seen picking out some clothes for herself and for Ayote, with the monkey girl acknowledging her beach dress was a little... dirty.

Ayote: "I'll be the first to admit it... My dress needs a washing... badly."

Bulma: "That's what having another girl on the job is for. Though you'll need a fresh set of clothes in the meantime."

As the human girl rummages through her wardrobe, she pulls out an outfit she hadn't worn in a while. Given the measurements, she imagined Ayote would fit perfectly in them. The outfit in question was her military-like outfit, complete with combat boots, pants with one leg side being cut to shorts length, a single shoulder pad, and even a pair of goggles.

Bulma: "Oh its perfect! Don't you think, Ayote?"

Ayote: "If... you say so..."

Ayote was sweating at Bulma's... eccentric enthusiasm. But she then stepped into the bathroom to wash up. Goku and Oolong, meanwhile, were both sleeping on the floor, due to Bulma saying that girls should be given special treatment - something Ayote was thoroughly against, but didn't argue with - as the girls were chatting in the other room. A rat runs across the room and climbs the table with Bulma's bag, which held the Dragon Balls. A small device is tucked away deep in the bag before the rat scurries off, going outside through a slightly ajar window. With a poof of smoke, the rat turns into Puar as they* made their way to Yamcha, the bandit chuckling as they now could follow their prey and let them gather the Dragon Balls for him.
(*Puar's gender has never been consistent in the main series, so I'm using gender neutral pronouns when referring to them. Sorry and thank you for understanding.)

After the four travelers were able to rest up, they continued their way towards their destination, Fire Mountain. As the name would imply, the mountain was on fire, which was certainly a sight to behold.

Goku: "I'm going to see if I can find the Dragon Ball on the Flying Nimbus!"

Ayote: "Be careful not to get too close, Goku. Last thing we need is fried monkey."

Goku laughs at the joke before he calls Flying Nimbus and flies the cloud upwards towards the mountain.

Oolong: "Oh boy... Are you sure we shouldn't turn back? Ayote might be strong, but there's no way she's strong enough for... the Ox-King."

Ayote: "...Who?"

Oolong: "The Ox-King of Fire Mountain. A beast of a man, who's strength is immense and fearsome. Any who trespass on his territory will be met with death!"

Bulma was a bit scared of this story, but Ayote seemed eager to meet this Ox-King, her Saiyan warrior genes flaring up for a challenge. And as they approached the mountain, they were indeed met by a large man with horns, a large axe, and a long, flowing, red cape, who exuded a menacing aura.

Ox-King: "Who dares intrude into my domain!? I am the mighty Ox-King and those who face me will know my power!"

Ayote: "Yeah? We'll see about that. Put up your dukes!"

But the Ox-King... doesn't. In fact, he just stares at Ayote with a bead of sweat rolling down the side of his head.

Ox-King: "Um... I was taught not to hit girls..."

Ayote's eye twitches as viens appeared on her head, then on her fist. From a distance, the Ox-King had suddenly learned how to fly after Ayote launched him into the air with a skyward punch. As the Saiyan moves out of the way, Ox-King lands on his belly, his axe plopping onto his head as he started seeing stars.

Ayote: "Stereotype me again and I'll see if you can breathe in space next."

Oolong: "...Nevermind, I'm convinced Ayote may just be unbeatable."

Bulma: "That's... putting it mildly."

As the Ox-King recovers from that event, Goku flies back down, having seen the lord of the mountain flying and then dropping back to the ground. As Goku comes down to greet his friends, Ox-King sees the Flying Nimbus, causing him to immediately stand up.

Ox-King: "Wait! That cloud! Kid, where did you get that?"

Goku: "What? You mean the Flying Nimbus? I got it as a gift from the Turtle Hermit."

Ox-King: "From Master Roshi!? He was my old teacher once upon a time! Had you all told me you were acquainted with him, I'd welcome you sooner!"

Ayote: "Funny. He's my grandpa."

This caused Ox-King to freeze up as his mind had to reboot a few times to process what exactly he just heard. All he could utter was a big 'What?'. This prompted Ayote to explain, in brief detail, her situation and relationship with Master Roshi.

Ox-King: "Oh, I get it. So Master Roshi found you and raised you like his own child! No wonder you're so strong for such a young lass!"

Ayote: "...I'll let that one pass..."

Bulma: "Ahem. So... About that Dragon Ball."

Ox-King: "Dragon Ball?"

Bulma: "Yeah. There's a Dragon Ball in the castle on the mountain, but its covered in fire."

Ox-King: "Oh. I'm sorry, but I can't help you there. The flames have been raging on the mountain years. No water or wind can ever dowse its perpetual inferno. The only thing that can defeat such fire... Is the legendary Bansho Fan."

Goku: "Bansho Fan?"

Ox-King: "According to legend, the Bansho Fan can create mighty gusts of wind that can split entire oceans, create mighty tornadoes, and put out the strongest flames. I sent my dearest daughter, Chi-Chi, to get it from Master Roshi, but I'm worried about her safety."

Ayote: "Then you sent her on a fool's errand. Master Roshi threw out the fan long ago."

There was a silence before everyone collectively shouted 'What!?".

Ox-King: "Wh-Why would he do that!?"

Ayote: "According to him, the fan was collecting dust and was more of a paper weight. So trashed the fan, throwing it out. So they the fan has long since been lost."

The Ox-King could only get on his hands and knees, tearful now as all hope was lost.

Ox-King: "Ohhh... Master Roshi... In all of your wisdom, why... Why did you have to throw away our only hope?"

Ayote: "You just need a strong gust, right? One that this supposed fan could produce?"

Ox-King: "Um... Yeah...?"

Ayote smiled as she jumps over the Ox-King and faces the mountain directly. Everyone stood by, confused. Ayote then began to concentrate, charging up her ki as energy flowed through her. She then cupped her hands together in a pose that Ox-King then saw as familiar.

Ox-King: "Wait! No way! There is no way she knows... that technique!"

Ayote: "Ka... Me..."

Ayote moves her hands back, charging ki to a single point in the gap between her hands. Everyone stares in both anticipation and awe.

Ayote: "Ha... Me..."

The energy got bigger and bigger in her hands before she then thrusts her hands forwards.

Ayote: "HAAAAAA!"

A powerful beam fires out of her palms, the immense pressure from the attack nearly blowing all but Ox-King away. As the beam seems to be heading directly towards the mountain, the attack swerves to the side, instead sending a gust of wind that blows out the fires of Fire Mountain. Everyone is left with their mouths agape at what they witnessed. Everyone, but Goku, who was smiling with awe at such an awesome display of power.

Ayote: "That... was the Kamehameha Wave. Master Roshi told me it took 50 years for him to master that technique. I got it in about 50 hours."

Ox-King: "A-Amazing! I-I can't thank you enough!"

Bulma: "Yeah, no kidding!"

Goku: "Awesome. Hey, can I learn that move too?"

Ayote: "Sure. But only if we ask Master Roshi. I don't think he'd appreciate me just teaching anyone his techniques."

Ox-King: "W-Wow... I suppose it's about time to call Chi-Chi home then. We don't need the fan anymore now that the flames are gone."

Goku: "I can go find her if you want. What does she look like?"

Ox-King smiles as he pulls out a picture of his daughter, a beautiful black haired girl with a helmet and... questionable choice for armor. As Ayote stares at the picture, the sound of frantic vehicle driving caught her attention. Goku then speeds on the Flying Nimbus to find Chi-Chi. After a moment later, he comes back, princess in tow.

As thanks for putting out the fires of Fire Mountain, Ox-King invites Goku and friends for a feast within his castle, which the Saiyans of course accept. As they eat, a smitten Chi-Chi looks at the younger Saiyan, causing him to look back with his mouth full before he swallows his food.

Goku: "What's wrong, Chi-Chi?"

Chi-Chi: "Oh nothing. I... Goku? I have a question... Would you... be willing to accept me as your bride?"

Ayote's ears perk up as she looks to Goku, who seemed very confused by what a bride was.

Ayote: "She means marriage, or the act of living your lives together. According to what I've heard from Master Roshi. Basically, it's a commitment."

Goku: "Oh! Um... Well... I don't know if I want to commit to that right now... I mean, there is so much to see and do. Plus I want to get stronger first."

Chi-Chi: "Oh, I didn't mean right away! I mean when we're older! I think you'd make for the perfect husband."

Goku: "...I'll... think about it."

Ox-King: "Ohhh! My little girl is already planning her wedding!"

As the Ox-King seemed quite happy with Chi-Chi, the young girl was anything but. In fact, she glared at Ayote with immense venom. Though she helped put out the fires of Fire Mountain, she got in the way of her potential relationship with Goku. In her mind, Chi-Chi made it her goal to beat Ayote and prove her love for Goku.

Chi-Chi: "One day... I'll defeat you... My 'Rival of Love'..."

Ayote: "...Um... What?"

Chi-Chi: "Nothing!"

Chi-Chi looked away, embarrassed, as she continued eating her food... In fact, she ate way more than her small figure should... With a new Dragon Ball in their hands, their goal for a wish is one step closer. Once they had their fill, the group made the trip to their next destination... Fungus Town...
