When Alexander's communicator signaled Jack was calling him, he told Corda he was going to the Altimah to take the call.

"I'm going to wander around." She said. "See if there's anywhere I can help out. I'll see you later."

Alexander agreed and headed to the Altimah.

"Hey Jack, you got a place for us yet?"

"I've got a few possibilities for you. You can check them out and decide which one works best. So, for the first time ever and given that I've only been sitting behind this desk for a week and half, that's not nearly as dramatic as it sounds, the President called me on the red phone. Weir's pissed. I heard you laid the smackdown on her and McKay. She was on the sat phone to Hayes practically before you were done talking."

"We knew she was going to be upset. She thought she had a done deal. Honestly Jack, why was she put in charge of the expedition in the first place? I get why she was assigned to the negotiations. Antarctica is the closest thing to completely neutral territory that Earth has. Of course other countries are interested in this tech and what it can do for Earth, but she's not a leader. She has absolutely no training, let alone experience."

"I hear you. She did a really good job with the negotiations and people are leery of a military leader being in overall command. Especially if the Wraith aren't still around."

"Weir is too in awe of her idea of what we'll find there. She has no idea how to handle actual warfare. If the Wraith are still around and there's a good chance that they are, then the Pegasus Galaxy is in a state of war. Let her negotiate a cease fire when the time comes, or for trade with the human worlds so Earth has less of a burden."

"And if the President decides to put you in charge?"

"I'm already going to be in charge of the military component. I'm not ready to sit behind a desk, Jack. The only reason you are is that you blew out your knee one too many times. If you were the Captain of a ship, instead of a field commander, they would have had to pry your cold dead hands from the captain's chair."

"So true."

"Things are as bad here as the reports say. Her leniency with McKay and his attitude are causing alot of problems."

"Which is why Hayes is fielding calls from his counterparts. The other countries scientists are the ones making the complaints after all. So your recommending her removal as head of the expedition?"

"Yes. She can go as a negotiator, but not as the head of the expedition. And McKay does not belong in command of a department either. He needs boundaries. He needs people that will stand up to him and if necessary, smack him down. As a scientist, I have no doubt he can do the job, but no one in their right mind should trust him in a position of authority over people, especially given how he acts around woman."

"What did he do this time?"

"This time?"

"He called Carter a hot, dumb blond the first time we met him."

"If she was a civilian she would have smacked him down. He hit on Corda, just seconds after I introduced her as my wife. He should take a lesson from the guards, like I told Johnathan, the guards noticed she was beautiful, but behaved themselves. And then he tried to sneak on board my ship."

"Oh yeah, sooner or later he will get himself a smack. Alright, I'll pass on your recommendations to the President. If you need anything, give me a call."

"Will do."

Alexander headed back inside the outpost to find Corda. They needed to get the container with the energy safely stored away and get back to Sunnydale. There was so much that needed to be done before they could go. Back to Atlantis, their home. A home they were willing to share, but would not give away.

"There you are." He smiled when he spotted Corda. "Jack has some potential locations for us to check out."

"Good, I initialized a few things for them to study. Johnathan is getting started on the medical facility computers. We need to explain to Dr. Beckett what everything is before we go. It'll help him understand how to use them."

"True, alright let's head over there before we go."

"Dr. Beckett, we're going to be leaving soon, but before we go, we wanted to explain what the equipment in here is and does. It'll help with making them work." Alexander said to Dr. Beckett when they arrived.

"Aye, you're probably right."

"The two main pieces of equipment that you need to be concerned about are the scanner and the healing pod. The healing pod is for extensive injuries, the kind you would normally do surgery to repair or the equivalent. The patient is put in a special suit, they're stored in the case behind you and then placed in the pod. It accellerates the body's own natural healing ability."

Alexander finished explaining the rest of the medical equipment and after saying goodbye to Johnathan and promising to be back to pick him up soon, headed out to find a place to store their prescious cargo. They soon found a good place not far from Earth, which meant it would be a quick, easy trip the next time they located a tear. An equally quick trip back to the outpost to pick up Johnathan and then they were heading back to Sunnydale and right into a mess of trouble.
