Alexander enjoyed his all too brief respite with his family and reluctantly departed the next morning. Corda and the rest had the plant and everything associated with it, well in hand. He had an expedition to put together. He was nearly there when his communicator signaled.
"Jack, what's up?"
"Where are you?"
"Nearing the outpost's new location."
"Can you turn around and head to Colorado? We need your input on something."
"Sure, shouldn't take me long to get there. I'll just call Jon and let him know I'll be delayed."
"Good, see you soon."
Alexander called Jon and let him know about the delay in his arrival.
"No problem, most aren't doing any work right now anyway. Everyone is still trying to process what happened."
"So am I. I'll let you know when I'm done."
"Will do."
Alexander turned the Altimah toward Colorado and soon arrived. Once past the checkpoint, he headed for Jack's office.
"Alexander, thanks for coming so fast." Jack said, when he saw him. "I want to introduce you to someone. This is Bra'tec, he's Teal'c's mentor and a leader of the Free Jaffa. Bra'tec, this is Alexander, Captain Alexander of the Altimah. He's an Alteran."
"Yes, Teal'C has mentioned you. One of the race Dr. Jackson calls Ancient. Pulled through time and trapped here and now trying to help Earth and by extension, the people of the galaxy."
"Yes, along with my wife and first officer, Corda. We may not have asked for what has happened to us, but we've done our best to make the best of it."
"One can do no less, without being untrue to one's self."
"True. So what can I help you gentleman with today?"
"The Free Jaffa want to mount a psychological attack." Jack said.
"Psychological warfare can be some of the best tactics in a war or the most devastating. We lost our war because of a psychological issue that our leaders never managed to understand. When we first encountered the Wraith, we outnumbered them, as well as having a significant technological advantage. But our leaders insisted on a defensive posture throughout the entire war. The Wraith reproduced faster then we did and could replace their population more quickly. We could win every battle, but we lost more people then they did. Especially since most of what they lost was drones."
"Cannon fodder." Jack commented.
"Exactly. And then we arrived here and we learned our people abandoned their responsibility to the humans who's existance they were responsible for. One more blow to two soldiers who fought for a century."
"I am sorry for your loss. I hope our strategy is sounder." Bra'tec said.
"What is your strategy?"
"There is a world deep in Gou'ald territory that is considered the holiest world to the Jaffa. It is said to be the place the Gou'ald gave the Jaffa their strength. In truth, it is the place where the Jaffa were created. Humans taken from Earth and modified, forced to carry the larval Gou'ald. We wish to mount an attack on this world. To take it for the Free Jaffa."
"If you can take the holiest world the Gou'ald have, the seed of doubt that they are gods will grow."
"Precisely." Bra'tec nodded in satisfaction that the seemingly young man in front of him would so quickly grasp the heart of his plan.
"Bold and quite possibly true. We can help. We have a number of energy shields already made. Our pulse pistols are better suited for warfare then your staff weapons. They're meant to intimidate. We can loan you thirty of each. They will help. Psychologically, if the enemy Jaffa see you as protected as their so called gods, it will deal another blow to them."
"That will help as well. We also hope, you will bring your ship into the battle. Teal'C tells me it is small, but fierce."
"She is. The Altimah carries miniature drone weapons and a forward and rear pulse cannon. The drones can handle the Jaffa's fighters and the pulse cannons could destroy a cargo vessel sized enemy. I'd only take her into battle against a pyramid ship as a last resort. But I am willing to help you."
"Then we will take Dakara. Let us plan our battle."
Alexander smiled. "Let's."
Later, Alexander contacted Corda to let her know.
"I'll get everything together. Oz and Johnathan are going to want to come with."
"I'm sure they will. No one could doubt their courage. I'll be by to pick you up in an hour."
"We'll be waiting."
Alexander arrived not long after and everyone was waiting.
"I wish I could go with you." Buffy said. "But there's nothing I can do. Most of this is going to a space battle, isn't it?"
"Yes, we have to get past the ships to get to the planet. The Stargate is guarded. But Bra'tec and Teal'C are going to lead a force through the Stargate, protected by our reverse engineered energy shields and using our pulse pistols."
"The ones we were planning to deliver to the SGC." Johnathan pointed out.
"They'll still get them. But the Free Jaffa need them right now."
"This is going to be even more then the battle down over Antarctica was, isn't it?" Johnathan asked softly. "I signed on for everything. I'm not backing out now. Let's go."
"Time." Oz agreed.
The four of them took their places and Alexander launched the Altimah toward the world the Jaffa and Gou'ald called Dakara. A world they didn't yet know, the Alterans had their own name for.
Discenna.
