The next afternoon...

The day had been a blur to Regina and she felt like a ticking time bomb, ready to violently explode at any given moment. She could hear Archie's voice in her head, encouraging her to communicate her feelings instead of channel them into rage, but she felt completely inept. Therapy couldn't help her now, not when she was so blinded by fear and uncertainty and heartache. It felt so familiar, the way her life crumbled once more, and her former defense mechanisms were clawing their way out, ripping her logic to shreds in order to protect her heart.

It was only when she heard Rumple's suggestion that she tore her gaze away from watching Henry sleep and glared at the imp. "Out of the question!"

"Not a chance in hell," David spoke at the same time Regina did and fixed Rumple with a firm expression, "We'd be monsters to even consider risking his life again," he added and shot up from his seat in frustration.

"Careful with your tone, Charming. I understand your concern, but without our help, your wife and daughter will soon be dead," Rumple stood from his own chair so that they were face to face, "Then, the true monster will be on their way to Storybrooke," the imp added with a pointed look at Regina.

David watched the fear that flickered in Regina's eyes at the suggestion of her mother's arrival and clenched his jaw firmly at yet another aspect of this situation that gnawed at his gut. He'd seen hints of her fear when she'd shared memories of her past, but he'd never seen her so actively terrified of someone and it was unsettling. It told him that Rumple was telling the truth and that scared David in more ways than one.

He and Regina needed to talk, that much was for certain. There hadn't been an opportunity since Henry woke up with the news Snow and Emma were still alive and that Cora was trying to stop them from coming back. Regina had paled at the mention of her mother, demanding they immediately go to Gold for help. David had still been processing his relief while Regina had sprung into action and, before he knew it, the three of them were at Rumple's shop door.

"Aurora is gone," Regina stood and snapped at Gold anxiously, "Why would we send Henry back with no one there to receive our message?"

Gold eyed them both knowingly, "It seems the two of you have a decision to make, but don't take too long, Dearies. Time is not on our side," he warned before disappearing into the back of his shop.

David glanced towards Henry to make sure he was sleeping before looking at Regina, "I think we need to talk."

Regina's shoulders stiffened and she followed him to the other side of the room to put distance between them and Henry. Her stomach churned but she forced a steely expression as she spoke, "I don't care how much you want your dear wife and daughter back, I am not putting my son in danger again," she hissed.

"I didn't mean that," he clipped in a low tone as not to wake their son, "You think I would be so quick to treat Henry like he was disposable?"

"Well, aren't you? Isn't that what you want to discuss? To convince me to send him back?" Regina glowered at him, angry with herself more than anything. If she hadn't shared so much with David the night before, if she hadn't exposed her weakness, he wouldn't think he could manipulate her like he did now. Stupid.

"I am not trying to convince you of anything," he frowned deeply at her accusations and took a deep breath in an attempt to calm himself. They had a lot to discuss in a short amount of time and he knew that feeding her agitation would get them nowhere. "We both know there is more we need to discuss…"

"Like what?" Regina crossed her arms and shrugged, refusing to show him any more vulnerability than she already had. Not when she had to protect her son from David's desperate ambition to get his wife and daughter back.

"Like coming up with a plan—some way to stop Cora and get Snow and Emma home safely, without putting Henry in danger," he replied, trying to keep his voice steady despite the pressure he felt, "And what this will mean for...for us, especially after what happened," he added and swallowed hard.

"For us?" she exhaled a quiet, bitter chuckle.

David studied her expression with a frown, thinking carefully of what he should say next—how he would explain that, just because he was eager to get Snow and Emma home safely, he wasn't going to pretend there was nothing between them.

"I don't want you to think that...that just because we're trying to get them home, I'm going to ignore what we-"

"That was a mistake," Regina cut him off with a cool expression that spoke nothing of the heartache she felt, "You're absolved of whatever guilt you may be feeling now."

"A mistake?" David stared at her, feeling like he'd taken a punch to the gut.

"It's been a stressful time for both of us and we got caught up in the moment," she frowned, forcing the words out that felt like acid on her tongue, "We let ourselves forget reality for a moment of distraction. We don't have to turn into something it didn't mean."

"You don't mean that," David's jaw clenched. "You're just deflecting because this does mean something to you and that frightens you."

Regina sputtered, but corrected her reaction with a laugh and raised her brows in feigned amusement, "You really are scared I'll tell your precious wife, aren't you? Don't worry, Charming. Your secret is safe," she smiled ruefully and tried to ignore the hurt in his expression. It contradicted everything terrible that she was trying desperately to believe in the moment; that he was trying to manipulate her and use Henry, that he would ignore her entirely once Snow was back, and that he was still an enemy who would use her vulnerabilities against her.

"Damn it, we don't have time for this, Regina-" he snapped, hating how sincere she seemed and how much her words got under his skin despite telling himself that she was deflecting, "Quit acting like I've already turned my back on you."

Regina rolled her eyes to mask the bile that rose in her throat at what she knew she needed to do. David wasn't any of the awful things her mind had conjured to protect herself. He was honest and loyal and trying his best to make sense of the mess she'd made. She had unwittingly taken advantage of his good heart by sharing her story with him and it had left him confused and his priorities muddled. He was wasting precious time with concern for her, the person who ruined his life, when there was much more at stake.

Cora would kill his wife and daughter and then come to Storybrooke to continue wreaking havoc. Regina would not be the one responsible for him losing his family again, nor was she prepared to watch Cora destroy everything she loved.

At least if she freed David of whatever duty he felt to her, then they could focus on getting his family back and defeating her mother. He and Henry would still be lost to her in the end, but they'd be alive, and she could love them from a distance. She swallowed at the painful knot in her throat and braced herself, digging deep to channel the darkness she'd worked so hard to leave behind.

"I really did a number on you, didn't I? I can't say I'm not impressed with myself. But the time for games is over when my son is in danger. And with my mother potentially on her way for a visit, please know that he is in danger," she spoke with an icy tone that surprised even herself, "You were a pawn, David, before the curse ended and after. You were so distressed by lingering effects of the curse that you convinced yourself you cared about me. Feeding into that made it easier for me to distract you from who I am and guilt you into letting me see Henry. There is no realm in which an Evil Queen would love a dimwitted shepherd. Please do us both a favor and drop this so that we can focus on what matters."

"Have we reached a conclusion yet, Dearies?" Gold's voice suddenly cut through the tension, interrupting the lingering silence between them.

David was stiff with hurt and anger as he glared back at Regina, blue eyes thundering dangerously. He ignored Gold to watch her intently, willing her to give him some sort of sign. He waited desperately for her eyes to contradict everything she'd just said, for her mask to falter and let him know she hadn't meant it. Seconds passed like minutes and he felt pain crushing his chest when he found nothing in her dark gaze. It was the first time she'd looked at him like this since the curse, so indifferent and hollow, like she had as the Evil Queen.

Hurt seized his heart and betrayal sank his stomach, turning to look at Gold as he finally spoke, "We have to go back. Someone will be there."

"Who?" Regina asked, taken off guard by David's answer, and clenched her jaw when he turned her own cold gaze back on her.

"Snow," he shrugged and watched Regina's eyes darken.

"Well, that's an awfully big assumption," she snarled, clenching her fist to stifle the jealousy that roared within her. This was what she had intended, for him to forget her and focus on finding his family. She didn't have a right to feel hurt by how quickly he'd done just that.

"It's not. She was there before and she can go back," David glanced between Regina and Gold, channeling his inner turmoil into determination for the task at hand. "She'll find a way, I know it," he said and inhaled sharply, forcing the most convincing smile he could just to spite Regina, "And I'll be waiting."

"You're going to this netherworld?" she antagonized, tone dripping in skepticism as she crossed her arms and hid behind her nasty behavior.

"I faced you. How bad can it be?" he questioned icily and without skipping a beat, unable to stop himself from getting the dig in.

"It's not so easy as that," Rumple shrugged and held his hands on his cane, "You've never been under a sleeping curse. There's a chance you'll never wake up."

"Sure I will. When I see Snow, she'll kiss me and I'll be fine," David smiled but it barely hid the anger bubbling. His argument with Regina, the pressure to get Snow and Emma home safely, and his concern over Cora combined, causing an overwhelming rage to burn his gut. He didn't miss the way Regina stared daggers at him as he spoke to Gold and it spurred him on, making him want to lash out and hurt her just like she had him. "Now put me under. I have spent far too much time looking for my wife. It is time to bring her home!"

Earlier that morning….

Regina woke up feeling warm and content and strangely lighter than she had in a long time. She kept her eyes closed in an attempt to make it last, knowing once she acknowledged the new day that the pain would soon follow. But her mind, per it's usual neurosis, never allowed her peace to last very long.

It had been her morning routine since she was just a girl to desperately fight to remain asleep. Waking up in her childhood home had filled her with anxiety over what wrath her mother would have in store. And after her marriage to Leopold, being awake meant feeling the grief of Daniel and the misery of her imprisonment. During her time as the Evil Queen, daybreak meant she had to face the bitter loneliness and rage that accompanied her thirst for revenge. And now, the sunlight seeping past her curtains would once more rouse the familiar fear and dread of reality.

She lingered in the hazy middleground between asleep and awake, but her mind began to pull her out of it despite her best attempts. Her eyes were shut tight, but that couldn't block flashbacks of the nightmares she'd had the night before. They had been especially vivid, each one worse than the last, and the glimpses of them now made her shiver.

Oh, she was still in the study. She'd come down after the last nightmare for fear of waking Henry with a scream. And to find the bourbon. That's why this didn't feel like her bed. She had been on the sofa and then David came in and she-

Regina's eyes popped open suddenly when she realized she was not sleeping on the sofa, but rather on a warm, firm body. Her vision clocked a large bicep and her brain calculated that it must belong to the strong arms that she felt wrapped around her torso. To her horror, she then realized her right thigh was draped across the lap of said body and her knee was tucked high over said body's hip.

David's. David's body. Shit.

Her heart pumped harder as their conversation came back to her and she felt everything bombard her at once. Embarrassment over breaking down. Anxiety over how much she'd shared with him. Relief that he'd believed her. Hopeful warmth that he'd wanted to know. Arousal from the way she laid spread over his-oh god, was he-?

David stirred in his sleep, his hips shifting and causing her breath to hitch when she felt the firmness against her. Her stomach tightened and skin flushed, body tingling at the contact. He was. He was hard.

It had been so long since she'd had him—a week or two before the curse ended. Her erratic behavior near the end hadn't allowed for much sex, as she'd been too consumed with getting rid of Emma Swan. But before that fucking storybook, she and David had never gone that long without in their entire 28 years. Weeks—no—almost twomonths had passed since she'd found herself in such an intimate position with him.

Her brain scrambled at the sudden electric charge of heat jolting through her, heightening her senses and making her body grow tense. She remained still, trying not to wake him as she decided what to do, but struggled to find her logic. She couldn't think straight, not when her stomach coiled with desire and her emotions were still so raw from the night before. It had her mind as thoroughly fucked as her body desperately needed to be.

David moved again and Regina nearly yelped when one of his arms unlocked from her torso and his hand slid south over the curve of her ass. He hummed softly then, keeping one arm locked around her waist and his other hand cupping her bottom as he shifted her on him. Although she hadn't lifted her head to look at him, she knew he was still asleep by the familiar sigh he gave when he finished stirring.

It wasn't surprising that their position hadn't woken him. He was a heavy sleeper and they'd spent nearly three decades sharing a bed. They'd always slept tangled up in one another, thanks to her cold nature and the furnace of heat his big frame radiated. He also sprawled out like a toddler when he slept, which at times hadn't left her much option but to roll on top of him. That's where she'd found herself most mornings, with him shifting and stirring underneath her until he became fully alert. And then they'd made good use of the other fully alert part of him.

She remained frozen, unsure of how to disentangle from him and trying to convince herself that she wanted to. His warm hand that splayed over her bottom had started a pesky throbbing between her legs and a tingle creeping up her spine. Her mind wandered to thoughts of mornings past, when she'd found herself awake before him in a similar position as this, and her response had been to pepper his neck with kisses and grind against his erection until he woke with a sleepy grin.

That trail of thought was a mistake, she soon realized, when her nipples hardened against his chest. Her robe had slipped off her at some point and all that was between their upper bodies was the thin silk of her pajama top and the grey tank he wore. She attempted to shut down her physical reactions to him, but her body seemed to feed on the adrenaline of her panicked mental state and weakened her self control.

David felt the warm tug of arousal as he came to and opened his eyes, blinking away his blurred vision. His brow creased in confusion for a few moments as he stared at the unfamiliar ceiling. This wasn't his bedroom. It wasn't the ceiling of the guest room, either. Oh, wait

He swallowed thickly and remained silent, trying to collect himself. Dear god. Regina was on top of him and he was hard and he could feel the heat of her core pressing against him. His heart leapt to his throat when the tension of her body told him she was already awake and had accessed their situation, but he still didn't move. Fuck, he wanted her.

It was then he realized she not only straddled his erection, but—was that? His head jerked up to confirm he also had a handful of her ass in his grip and he let go of it in the same moment her head shot up from his chest.

"I'm sorry, I-" he began to apologize for his groping, voice still grumbly from sleep, and tried to read her eyes.

Regina looked down at him, her attempt at scrambling away halted when she found their faces inches apart, "It's..it's okay."

David heard the shaky sound of her voice and studied her as her tongue darted out briefly to wet her lips. Her brown eyes were dark and heavy lidded, sparkling with a familiar glint of lust that had blood pumping furiously towards his cock. He clenched his jaw and held his breath when the rush to his groin made him twitch against her as he grew harder.

Her lips parted in a quiet, hitched breath and their gazes locked with intent. She looked just as tempted as he felt, giving him an overwhelming urge to flip her onto her back and take her. Though he didn't move, not due to the moral dilemma he should be having, but because he was unsure of what she wanted. His body and heart were in full control and he was prepared to forget all else at the first sign of her consent.

Regina's heartbeat thumped wildly against her ribcage and she felt sure he could feel it. She watched him register their every point of contact, from her nipples pressed into his chest, to the flushness of their tense abdomens, and down to where he was nestled between the apex of her thighs. He had always been easy to read physically and she could see his desire by the way his jaw tightened and the apple of his throat bobbed.

She knew he was not hers to have, but that also meant he would not always be here. There might never be another moment when he would want her just as badly as she wanted him. Maybe it would bring them both closure if they could do this and...get each other out of their system.

That's how she would justify it, at least. Being with him meant more to her than that and would add to her hurt when he left, but it was a price she was willing to pay. She'd be heartbroken either way when that time came.

Silence lingered as David watched her gaze drop to his lips and then back up to meet his once more. That's when he saw it, the consent he'd been waiting for. All traces of uncertainty had left her expression and he knew she'd come to the same conclusion he had.

Regina started to lower her head towards his and he met her in the middle, pressing his lips to hers in a slow but firm kiss. She let out a soft sigh that made him long to hear another and he brought his hand up to cup the side of her face, tilting her head to deepen the kiss. And god, it felt like the first breath of air he'd taken since the curse ended.

She mewled when his tongue swiped hers and shifted her body to the right, bringing her center directly over him as her thighs draped both sides of his hips. He groaned deeply when she pressed firmer on his hardness, relieving her brief worry that he would put a stop to the direction things were taking. The sound of his want sent a sweet aching from her chest down to her clit, pooling briefly in between where it made her abdominal muscles grow taut with need.

"Mmph," David groaned in appreciation when her body rolled against his, feeling her hot center grind up the length of him. He threaded his fingers through her dark hair and kissed her with more urgency, sliding his other hand from her hip down her thigh and back up slowly. He had missed touching her, had missed tracing those smooth curves and feeling her shiver and twitch.

She had always been so reactive to him and it had made David feel like god himself every time he'd taken her during their marriage. He would pepper her neck with wet kisses just to see goosebumps break out on her skin. He would thumb lightly over her nipples just to watch how quickly they'd tighten. He would drag his teeth over her navel to revel in the way her hips curled up in offering. Her body always seemed to be hungry for his touch and the feeling of being so wanted had been indescribable. Was still indescribable.

"Mmmmm," she moaned into the kiss as she pressed her hands against the sofa on each side of his head and rocked her hips again, losing herself in the familiar undulating rhythm they'd perfected. "Mhm," she whimpered in encouragement when she felt his hands flatten and slide up her back under her nightshirt, grazing her bare skin.

Regina's back dipped under his touch and she broke the kiss to suck in a breath, meeting his gaze briefly before he lifted his mouth to take another demanding kiss. She hissed against his lips and curled on him again, brushing her tongue with his as their kisses grew desperate. Her head swam at the feeling of him under her and she worried briefly that she was dreaming until she felt a very real nip at her bottom lip.

"Gods," she rasped when he tugged her lip back before releasing it and looked at her as he slid her nightshirt up at the sides. Her head nodded in approval and she sat up straighter when he leaned up from the sofa to pull it over her head.

"You are…" his voice was gruff as it trailed off and he shook his head in awe as he took a brief second to soak in the sight of her before he lowered his mouth to find a nipple.

"Yes," she whined and grinded her hips into his lap harder, bringing her hands up to grip at his hair roughly.

David groaned against her skin as she squirmed on his lap, but kept his attention on her breasts, nipping and licking at her peaks until they were both pebbled hard. She gasped and whimpered as he sucked at them, making him eager to hear more. He slipped his hands down the back of her pajama shorts and gripped her ass, pushing her down to grind firmly against his cock.

"You're so wet," he breathed out in shock when he felt her dampness seeping through her pajamas and his own.

Regina's chest heaved for breath when he tilted his head back to look up at her, finding her skin flushed and peppered with goosebumps. She didn't speak, but reached around his torso to work his tank up and he let go of her long enough so she could pull it over his head.

Her eyes and hands traveled his arms and chest and shoulders before she met his gaze again. She had missed him looking at her like this—like he'd never wanted anyone more. Like she was his.

Davids slid his hands to rest on her ribs and brushed his thumbs against the sensitive underside of her breasts, feeling her shudder in response. She dipped her head then and kissed him hungrily, rocking him back with the force of it, but he pushed back upright as he kissed her just as fiercely. Her hips squirmed on his lap, making his cock ache to be free of his pajamas and slide against her slippery wetness.

And then suddenly, it was.

He inhaled sharply when he felt her slick folds grinding into his bare shaft at the same time she broke the kiss and looked down between them with the same look of surprise. His gaze followed hers down to find both of their pajama bottoms had disappeared and when he looked back up at her she wore an expression of sheer shock and anxiety.

"I'm sorry I-I didn't mean to," Regina sputtered, dread sinking her stomach when she realized what she'd done, "I was thinking that I...that I wanted them off and my magic it-well, it runs on emotions and-" she tried to explain, expecting any moment to see his face twist in disgust when he remembered who she was. What she was.

"Regina," he cut her off, running his hands up her arms to her shoulders so she'd look at him, "I'm not upset," he reassured gently, reaching further up to slip his fingers around the back of her neck and stroke her jaw with his thumb. He watched relief flood her when she processed his reaction and her eyes shone with a hint of vulnerability.

It hit him then that she'd said her magic was fueled by her emotions, and he felt like he'd peeled back another layer of understanding her. Her magic had been used for destruction because it'd been an extension of the pain she felt, just as it was activated now by her feelings of desire. Trauma and heartbreak had been at the source of the evil act she'd committed, not her magic. It was a part of her, an innate ability, and she'd been prepared to shame and guilt herself for her accidental use of it.

"Come here," he murmured and pulled her down into another deep kiss. He felt her exhale against his lips as the tension slowly drained from her frame and she melted into him once more. "Mmmm," he groaned and grazed his fingers down her back when her body shifted and her wetness slid along him once more.

It served as a quick reminder to them both that there was no longer a barrier of clothing between their desire and the urgency of their touches and kisses soon returned.

Regina ached with the need for him inside of her, to channel her emotions for him into something physical. Something that wouldn't hurt to feel.

David gripped her hips to help lift them and she pressed her forehead against his to look down. He sucked in a breath and watched her face as she gripped him by the shaft. Her hand felt so good, so familiar, as it stroked the length of him once and then rubbed his tip along her wetness. He groaned when she slid the angle of him back and his tip parted her swollen lips, pushing against her opening.

Regina hummed as the head probed her and reached to grip the back of his neck with both hands as she sank down on him fully, choking on a sharp cry, "Oh," she gasped breathlessly, keeping her forehead against his as she stretched around him.

"You feel so good," David rasped quietly, caressing her thighs and ass and lower back as he remained still to let her adjust to him. "You are soaked," he murmured against her skin when he tilted to press slow kisses over her chin and jaw, trailing them towards her neck.

"David," she whimpered and let her head fall to the side to allow him easier access to her neck and her hips jerked forward at the sensation, "Mmmmmm," she moaned at that and began rocking on him, keeping him planted deeply within her.

Her fingers dug into his biceps for leverage as she curled her hips towards him and then grinded back firmly, hissing at the feeling of her clit brushing his root. He kissed and licked and nipped at her neck as she rocked on him, his groans vibrating into her skin. She lost herself in the intimacy she'd craved for so long, absorbing every emotion and physical sensation, committing it all to memory.

Regina had never been with someone she loved until she'd allowed herself to fall for David. It had been a painful duty she'd performed with Leopold, but with David she'd become aware of the pleasure sex could bring. He'd been the first person who'd ever made love to her and as her feelings for him grew, so did her understanding of the term.

"Yes, like that," she whimpered and moved faster when he gripped her ass and pushed her hips down on their backward movement, forcing her to feel him deeper.

David growled when he felt her tightening around his cock and sat a little straighter, rocking forward as he lifted her ass enough so that she could untuck her knees from his sides. She moaned against his lips as their noses brushed with the movement, extending her legs to fold loosely around his torso.

"Fuck, you always feel so good like this," he murmured when his hands splayed over her ass and pulled her firmly into him.

Regina cried out at how open she felt and clutched the back of his neck, looking down to watch him as he slid her back on his cock a few inches before pulling her back on him fully. She lifted her eyes to find him watching her and her breath hitched at the intensity of his gaze, leaning in to catch his lips in a bruising kiss.

"You can let go, I can last," David encouraged, feeling the way she fought her twitching and squirming to keep from coming too soon as she began to clench around him. He was surprised she'd lasted this long with how wet she'd been by merely grinding on him through their clothes and he didn't want her to hold back.

"I'm," she gasped and nodded, head falling forward to rest against the side of his as she curled her hips, opening herself up further to him. She felt the tension coiling and burning as he pulled her into him and then it exploded, ripping a sharp throaty cry from her as her body jerked.

"God, yes," David groaned down her ear and gripped her ass, keeping her pushed firmly to his root as her thighs gaped and her body convulsed. He bit down on his bottom lip to keep control at how tightly she gripped him, feeling her walls rippling and contracting around his girth, threatening to pull him over the edge.

But he kept his promise and held back his own release, pressing soft kisses over her temple and the shell of her ear as she shuddered and let out strangled noises. He was awestruck by how completely she gave herself to him. He'd always appreciated it before, how she held the control in most aspects of her life but submitted her body to him so fully. Now it felt like even more of a revelation, reminding him that behind the mask of the intimidating Mayor and the feared Evil Queen, was a heartbroken woman who wanted to feel loved.

"Mmmm," she hummed near his ear as her spasming subsided and her thighs trembled against his sides. She brought her hands up to grip his shoulder blades when she felt him rock forward and gasped when she felt his cock slip from her as he laid her onto her back. "Yes," she rasped under her breath when he braced over her, gripping his cock and looking at her as if to ask if she was ready for him again.

"Yes, yes, yes," she chanted as he pushed himself to the hilt and leaned down to kiss her with a renewed hunger.

David wasted no time, feeling how she all but dripped around him, knowing she could take it as he began to rock into her with more force. He braced a hand against the sofa arm above her as his other slipped beneath her lower back, keeping her tilted and open to him. Her back bowed when he pulled out almost completely and plunged back into her with long, deliberate thrusts. She cried out into his mouth each time the head of his cock hit the angle he knew she liked, making her ramble a string of words that sounded more like noises.

"Harder," she pleaded rather clearly and dug her nails into the skin of his back, bucking her hips wildly to meet his.

David groaned and heeded her demand, rutting at an unrelenting tempo and swearing under his breath. Their pace grew frantic and their movements reckless, lips clashing in a rough kiss as he shortened his thrusts, pulling out of her just a few inches before pounding back in deeply. Her cries became sharper and louder and he lowered his upper body until it was nearly flush with her own, allowing her to press her mouth into his neck to stifle the noise.

"Fuck," he growled deeply, panting for breath as he fucked her harder and faster, feeling her tensing and tightening and clawing him from his shoulders to his ass.

Regina's lips parted against the skin of his neck, but no sound came out, making him unaware he'd pushed her into her second orgasm until her body quaked underneath him. Her back curled from the sofa into a rigid arch, pressing her hard nipples into his chest as he snapped his hips into hers harshly. Her wet heat gripped at his shaft, her body simultaneously pushing him out and pulling him deeper through the peak of her orgasm.

A loud gasp escaped her when her climax finally relented and her back fell flush with the sofa, hips jerking and twitching through the following waves and she flooded him with her come. David swore endlessly into her neck as he pushed through it and plunged his cock to the root, finding his own release deep within her.

Little shockwaves of pleasure radiated from her core to her limbs as she panted for breath. David remained slumped over her, one arm bracing against the sofa to keep himself from crushing her and his face still buried at her neck. She stared blankly at the ceiling as the high of her body mixed with the gravity of what they'd done and caused a tear to escape the corner of her left eye, soaking into his hair where the back of his head rested gently against her cheek bone.

Regina's stomach dropped when David began to lift his head and she held her breath when he met her gaze, waiting for his rejection to come. But he remained silent, looking at her with an expression that seemed to mirror everything she felt. They watched one another as she gave a shaky exhale, finding some comfort in the fact he hadn't pulled away. But she knew fate would soon remind her that this would never truly be hers.

She just hadn't realized how soon, until her son's terror filled scream echoed from upstairs.
