CHAPTER 8: Before the interships
My Hero Academia World, U.A. Stadium [18:03]
After the final combat ended, the Media along with the other contestants gathered in the center of the arena to see the finalists receive their medals.
"All first-year events of this year's Sports Festival have been officially completed" Announced Midnight, face turned to the cameras "Now we will begin the award ceremony so let's welcome our three finalists!"
As she finished speaking, behind her emerged three pilars.
At her left, we found Todoroki occupying the third place with his usual stoic expression; at her right stood a very angry but quite Bakugo in second place; while the center, and first place, was occupied by a smiling Luffy who was waving to the audience.
As soon as they appear, Midnight continued speaking "And the person who will handle the medals will be none other than...ALL-MIGHT!"
"HAHAHAHAHA. DO NOT WORRY BECAUSE..."
The audience, with their usual excitement, could only cheer at the sight of Japan's number one hero and Symbol of Peace landing in front of the winners podium.
"...I AM HERE!"
After a few moments of fan-service, Midnight approached him to hand him three medals. Once they were in his hands he positioned in front of the third place.
"Young Todoroki, congratulations!" He started saying "You did an excelent job. I'm sure you had your reasons to not use your fire side until the end, but I'm proud that you managed to overcome your problems and showed us what you are really capable of. I can't wait to see you become the great hero I know you are destined to be"
Todoroki watched his bronze medal and then to the number one hero "I'm not sure I have resolved all the problems related to my fire powers but..." He paused for a moment to look at Midoriya, who was with the rest of the class, and then to Luffy, who was now smiling to the cameras "...thanks to Midoriya and Luffy I've realize that I can't let my past guide my future. This is my power and I will definetly work hard to make it fully mine" He said as a faint smile apeared across his face.
"And I'm completely sure you will succeed, Young Todoroki" The Symbol of Peace replied as he approached the boy to give him a light hug.
Next, he walked towards Bakugo with the silver medal.
"Young Bakugo, congratulations! You have showed us your strenght and fierce passion in this competition. I am confident that you will get very far in the pro-hero world, nontheless you can't depend solely on your Quirk; training and experience are equally important" He told him in a soft voice. However when he was about to put him the medal the explosive boy didn't let him; he took a step back and directly snatched it out of the pro-hero's hands without even looking at him.
Watching his reaction, All-Might let out a tired sigh and, instead of a hug, he gently rested his hand on top of the kid's blond hair.
He felt the teen tensed at the contact but thankfully he didn't moved away, so he leaned a little to talk to him "You did a great job in the tournament, Young Bakugo. I know you are disappointed for losing the last combat but this will also help you grow as a hero. There will be times in the future when you won't be able to win but you can always learn from it and become stronger"
He then moved away to pick the last medal and walk in Luffy's direction.
"And finally, we have Young Luffy!" He happily said as he put the gold medal around his neck "Congratulations on winning the first place! Throughout the entire competition, your fighting skills as well as your teamwork were simply fantastic. But remember, that is not a reason to slow down but to keep working and improving. I can't wait to see your growth in the future!" All Might said with his big signature smile.
For his part, Luffy returned the smile with one of his own "Thanks, Mr. Steroids!" He exclaimed as he jumped from the podium to hug the pro-hero, who immediately welcomed the display of affection.
This sudden action earned him some laughs from the public and more attention from the reporters who didn't stop taking photos.
The current number one hero and a promising young pro-hero, both of them with bright personalities and similar smiles. That will definitely catch the interest of a lot of people, although some of them in not a good way.
My Hero Academia World, in an unknown place of Musutafu [18:13]
In the darkness of a 'bar's basement' in the outskirts of Musutafu we find a light-blue haired boy sitting in the floor, watching in silence the award ceremony of U.A. sports festival.
The room was only iluminated by the light that was coming out from the TV, which was now showing the frozen image of a smiling dark-haired kid hugging Japan's number one hero.
In the midst of the silence, a deep was heard.
"So, Shigaraki" Said the man behind him "You are saying that is the boy that defeated my nomu?"
"Yes, Sensei" Replied his pupil.
"Hmm" Sensei, as Shigaraki called him, took a seat in the big chair of his 'office' watching intently the monitor's screen "At first sight he doesn't look too threatening but if he managed to take down of my creatures he must have some tricks up his sleeve" He said as his lips formed a malicious smile "What is his Quirk, again?" He asked to a short, bald man with a doctor's gown.
"The intel we have says that it's just 'rubber'" He answered with certain excepticism in his voice.
"Well, that doesn't make much sense, don't you think?" Said the man as he rested his chin on the back of his hand "The Hero Commission must be hiding something about him and his Quirk. What else we have from him?"
The short man sighed in defeat "Not much just his name, age and some useless family information. The rest is highly codified, our hackers couldn't even access to other simple data like the middle school he attended to or the name of his parents. And when they tried to enter by force the system automatically kicked them out and even tried to attack their computers. If they hadn't reacted on time we could have lost valuable intel in seconds" He explained to his boss.
"Then I was right, the Hero Commission is protecting him and covering his tracks"
"Well... not exactly" Replied his subordinate.
The boss then turned his head towards him "What do you mean, Garaki?"
"What I mean is that before the system attacked our computers my team managed to find out something rather interesting" He said as he handed him the information "Some of the hackers, as you well know, have already interacted with the security system of the Hero Commission"
"Yes, and...?"
"And they told me that the program that attacked them was not the same as the one those politicians usually use to protect their secrets" He explained "But they know someone who does, in fact, use it quite frequently" He finished saying as he pointed the bottom section of the sheet.
"U.A.?" He said in a whisper "You mean that the rat is who is behind that boy?" He asked. His subordinate gave him a simple nod "I was not expecting that, but that only makes things more interesting. If Nezu himself is protecting that kid that means that he is far more valuable than we originally thought"
"Yes, that's what I thought"
"Excellent!" He said as his face returned to the frozen image in the monitor "That boy. What did you say his name was, Shigaraki?" He asked.
After a moment of silence, his pupil, who hadn't taken his eyes off the TV during the entire conversation, answered "Luffy" He said "His name is Monkey D. Luffy"
Monkey D. Luffy, huh? He thought as the corners of his lips moved slightly upwards Well Mr. Luffy, I hope we can meet very soon.
My Hero Academia World, U.A. Stadium [18:15]
After All-Might managed to free himself from Luffy's iron grip, he turned again to the cameras.
"These are the winners of this year but listen, anyone here could've taken one of these podiums! I have no doubt that this next generation of heroes will be able to surpass us one day!" He said "So, before this ends I have only one thing to sa-..."
"WAIT!" Someone yelled.
At the sudden interruption, the stadium fell silent and the spectators directed their attention to the origin of that voice only to realize it belonged to the winner of this year's Sport's Festival, Monkey D. Luffy, who was now sulking and glaring daggers towards the number one hero.
All-Might, still little taken aback by Luffy's behaviour, looked at him and said "Y-Young Luffy, is there something wrong?"
"Wrong? Of course, something is wrong!" He said crossing his arms over his chest "How can you say this is already over if you haven't fight with me! Come on, let's do it! You said you would do it when you had time"
The silence was now accompanied by the stunned faces of the public.
A first-year student has just challenged the Symbol of Peace to a fight?!
For them it was madness.
Fortunately, before everyone could start freaking out All-Might intervened.
"HAHAHAHA, Young Luffy. Always with your jokes! HAHAHAHAHA" He said trying not to make his laugh sound forced.
"Huh?! But it was not a joke! I really wan-...hmmmm" Luffy couldn't say anything else thanks that All-Might covered his mouth on time, while with his other hand he gave the boy a half-hug to prevent him from struggle "HMMMMM...HMMMM"
"You are definitely a prankster Young Luffy! HAHAHAHA" He said as he turned his head to the cameras "Don't be alarmed. This is only a internal joke of class 1-A, it's always like this when I train them. It's hilarious! Right guys?!" He asked as he directed a pleading look to Midoriya and his classmates.
"O-Oh! Y-Yes, of course!" Started to say Izuku "It's just a recurrent joke in our class, rigth?" He said turning to his friends.
"Y-Yes, Luffybro is always like that! Hahahaha" Said Kirishima this time.
"He likes to joke a lot. Don't take him seriously" Commented this time Uraraka.
"That's right! We also believe it the first time he told that to All-Might"
As the students continue talking the pro-hero saw the audience visibly relaxing in their seats and some of them letting out some chuckles from the ridiculous situation.
Of course it's a joke. Some of the thought.
The kid is great but he is nowhere near All-Might's level.
I even believed it for amoment. Hahahahaha.
"HAHAHAHA. Well, now that everything is cleared it's time to say goodbye for today. But before that I have one more thing to say and you know what it is! So, say it with me!"
"PLUS ULTRA!"/ "PLUS ULTRA!"
After everything ended All-Might dragged Luffy inside the building with the rest of the students.
Once he was liberated from the pro-hero's grip, he angrily sit in the floor and whined like a little kid. However, his disappointment didn't last long after Izuku brought him the meat leftovers he had in his locker.

A few minutes later, when everyone else had already gone home, he went to the parking lot reserved to U.A. staff.
As soon as he arrived, Luffy tackled Hizashi into a big hug that the man gladly returned.
"Shishishisi. Did you see it Blondie?! I won!" He happily said as he showed him his gold medal.
"Yeah kid, we saw it! You were amazing today!" Said Hizashi as he squeezed Luffy a little more "We are proud of you, right Shota?" He asked turning towards his husband.
Aizawa simply nodded and patted Luffy's head "You did well, brat" He said in an almost fond tone, gaining a bright smile from Luffy.
"Thanks, Eye-bags!" He said before feeling a slap on the back of his head "Ouch! And what was that for?" He yelled looking at Aizawa
"That was for what you did at the award ceremony" He said as he exagerately stretched the boy's cheeks "We told you to not stand out in a suspicious way and what did you do? You challenge Japan's number one hero to a fight in front of the audience and the Media"
"Swowwry, swowwry" (Sorry, sorry)
"HAHAHAHAHA. Leave his face, Shota. I think he already understood" Intervened President Mic highly amused by their fight.
For once, Aizawa listened to him and let go of the kid's cheeks "Alright, but the next time you disobey us I will throw you to a river. Are we clear?"
"Yeah, yeah. I got it" He said rubbing his now red face.
Hizashi laughed before putting his hands in Luffy's shoulders "Great! Now, let's go home. We bought a lot of meat and sake to celebrate your victory!"
He didn't have to tell him twice "YEEIII!" With stars in his eyes he rapidly run towards the backseats of the car.

A few hours later, after their mini-celbration ended, Hizashi and Shota now found themselseves with a new problem that weren't sure how to solve.
At first, everything was pretty normal when they arrived home. It wasn't until the dinner begun that they realize that something was amiss.
At the beginning, Luffy ate and talked like always however, as the night progressed, they noticed the boy eating less and less and, from time to time, they catch him staring off into space with a sad expression.
They asked him if something was wrong, only to be answered with just an 'I'm fine' followed by a tense smile.
They assumed that something was bothering him but he still wasn't ready to share it with them. They respected that so they tried their best to distract him from his thoughts. They started telling him some anecdotes of their days as U.A. students, how tey met and, to Aizawa's dismay, a pretty funny story involving him, Nemuri and a stripper.
Everything was going fine, Luffy was smiling more so they thought they were doing a good job. And that was true until Hizashi mentioned the kid's friends. Normally, that was one of Luffy's favorite topics, he could talk hours and hours about his crew, his family, and all the adventures they had live together. However, this time when Hizashi encouraged him to tell them more about them, his expression turned stiff once again.
After that, he quickly get up from the table ready to leave the dinning room.
"Luffy, wait" Called Hizashi "You haven't even eaten half of your mea-..."
"I'm not hungry" He said his eyes not leaving the floor.
"Y-You are... are not hungry?" Asked Hizashi with incredulity "Are you sure?"
The boy didn't even answered with words, he simply nodded and then quickly fled the room.
The pro-heroes looked at each other not knowing what to make out of this situation.
"We should follow him?"
Aizawa sighed "No, I think he needs a little time alone"
Hizashi slowly nodded before getting up and start doing the dishes.
After they finished cleaning everything, they decided to go find the kid; task that did not took them long.
When they entered the living room they saw the big doors that lead to the backyard wide open and a slender figure seated in grass with his head looking up to the stars.
Both adults carefully approached the boy from behind and once they were by his side they just took a seat next to him. Despite noticing their presence, Luffy did not talk and that was fine with them, they were determined to wait until the young pirate was comfortable enough to open up to them.
The time passed with them still seated in the same position not caring about the darkness and much less the cold of the night. They didn't mind the silence either, far from being awkward it was rather relaxing not only for Luffy but for all of them.
After a couple of minutes, Luffy slowly took his eyes off the night sky and fixed them in the hands that rested in his lap. Then he took a deep breath, as if he was trying to calm himself, and finally opened his mouth.
"I just realized how much I miss my crew" He said, his voice barely above a whisper.
The pro-heroes looked at him but didn't say anythting waiting for the boy to continue.
"It's just... I know it's stupid, I mean I was already missing them since the first night here but today, after winning, it just felt different" He continue explaining "Since I started my adventure in the East Blue, I've always celebrated my victories with my crew, so not having them with me now makes me feel...empty" He finished saying as he roughly cleaned the small tears that threatened to fall from his eyes.
Once they heard his explanation, Hizashi didn't wait any longer and wrapped his arms around the boy.
A couple of seconds later, Aizawa copied his action.
After some moments, they broke the hug both pro-heroes noticing the trails of silent tears on Luffy's face.
"Luffy" Called Aizawa "It's okay to feel sad, you are in a strange world far from your friends and family and far from everything you knew. It's normal that you miss all of that so don't be ashamed for feeling that way" He said gently pating his head.
"Shota is right, kid" Said this time Hizashi "I know it has been a couple of months since you came here, but I'm sure your crew is doing the impossible to bring you back"
At that moment, Luffy smiled "I know, I trust them. Also, I'm sure my dad, my brother and Iva-chan will help them find me so I just have to wait. Shishishi"
"That's the spirit!" Exclaimed Hizashi as he put an arm around his shoulders.
Aizawa smiled "Brat, now that I think about it you never told us about your father" He said trying to changed the subject.
Hizashi nodded "Yes, that's right! How is he?"
Luffy thought about it for a second before merely shrugging his shoulders. "I don't know"
Both adults were confused by his answer.
"You don't know? Have you never met him?" Asked Hizashi
Luffy shook his head "Nop, he left me with Grandpa when I was a baby so I don't remember him. I only know how he looks like because I saw a photo in the newspaper"
Aizawa arched his eyebrow "Newspaper? Why was his photo there?"
"Because he is the most wanted criminal in my world, or at least it's what Grandpa told us after we rescued one of my nakamas from the marines"
The pro-heroes looked at him in astonishment "M-most wanted criminal you say?"
"Yeah, he is a re... revo-relu... revolconary?"
"HAHAHAHA, you mean a revolutionary?" Asked Hizashi
Luffy nodded "Yes! That's it! He is the leader of the revulconaty army. Although, I don't know him when I spent two years apart from my crew, training with Rayleigh, Robin went with my dad and when we met again in Sabaody she told me that he is a good man and that he only goes against the government because they are very... what is the word? corpored?"
Aizawa let out a chuckle "You mean corrupted?"
"Yeah, that's the word! You are pretty smart, Eye-bags. Shishishi"
"Well, if half of what you have told us about them is true I don't blame your father for wanting a change"
Aizawa sighed "I agree, a government that openly allows slavery and normalizes the hatred towards other races is not my cup of tea either"
Luffy looked up to the sky again "Well, not everybody is bad. I have friends there and they are pretty cool"
Hizashi's eyes were wide open "You mean that you, a pirate, a criminal by their standars, have friends in the goverment?"
"Yep" Luffy happily said.
Aizawa huffed "Only someone like you can be friends with the enemy" He said stretching one of Luffy's cheeks.
"Shishishi" He laughed "But some of them are great like Koby or Smokey, even the blind guy we fought in Dresdrossa. He was an admiral but he cared for the people there, and even my Grandpa is a good person too. When we meet, he usually gives me fists of love because he wanted me and Ace to become marines but I also miss him a lot" He said feeling almost nostalgic.
"HAHAHAHA. And that is other, the grandfather is a marine, the father a criminal and the son the future King of the Pirates. That is what I call a colorful family" Laughed Hizashi.
Luffy also joined him in the laughs while Aizawa rolled his eyes fondly.
They spent an hour more seated outside hearing Luffy's stories about his family, mainly about his brothers, his grandfather, Makino and Dadan, who they assumed were his mother figures.
When the clock struck half past eleven Hizashi and Shota saw Luffy yawn.
"Well I think it's time to go to bed. We must be all tired from today" Said Hizashi as he helped his also sleepy husband to get up from the floor.
After cleaning themselves a little, they entered the house and occompanied Luffy to his room.
"Good night kid and remember if you feel sad again and you need someone to talk to you can always come to us" Said Hizashi.
Aizawa nodded "I have spent half of my life hearing this idiot whine for everything, a crybaby more won't make a diference" He said pointing to his partner.
"HEY!"
Luffy gave them a bright smile "Shishishishi. Thanks guys, you are the best!"
After wishing each other a good night again they went to their respective rooms.
In silence, the pro-heros were changing into their pijamas to go to bed when Hizashi noticed the thoughtful expression on his husband's face.
"Shota, what's on your mind? Is something bothering you?"
"..." Aizawa remained silent for a moment "I have to make a call" He said, quickly walking to his nightstand to take his phone.
Hizashi raised his eyebrow "A call? At this hour?" He said seeing Shota opening his contact list "For what purpose?"
The other looked him for a brief moment before putting his phone on his ear "You'll see" He simply said.
After a couple of seconds he heard someone responding.
"Hello, Nezu"
Nezu?!
"Yes. It's me, Aizawa. Look, I know it's late but I have a favor to ask you"
Well, now Hizashi was certainly confused. What kind of favor does Shota have to ask that rat that can't wait till tomorrow?
"No, it's not for me. It's for the brat"
Oh!

It was very early in the morning, the sun was still hiding so most people were still asleep.
And that's how we find our captain, sleeping soundly in his bed, with a dry tray of saliva running down his chin, as the sound of his snores filled the quite room. He was peacefully dreaming until he felt someone shaking him quite vigorously.
"Luuuffyyy~ Kiddo, wake up~" A familiar voice called him.
"Hmmm... no" He whined, not wanting to get up yet.
However, the other person had other plans for him.
"Luffy, come on! We have a surprise for you!" He said, excitement cleary visible in his voice.
"Noooo... Don't wanna"
The other man sighed "Please, I promise you will love it. We have even prepared a ton of meat to eat after you get your surprise"
Well, that definitely picked Luffy's interest.
Without fully waking up yet, the teen opened one of his eyes only to see Hizashi looking at him with a big impatient smile.
Luffy whined a little more before he decided to get out of his bed "Okay, okay. Wha-*Yawn*- what time is it?" He asked, scratching the back of his head.
"Oh, just six in the morning"
"Oh, just... WAIT, WHAT?" He screamed, immediately falling to the ground "Ouch! For what kind of surprise I have to get up at six in the morning?!"
"You'll see~" He said before dragging the boy by his arm "Now, first we must get breakfast. We have pretty exciting day ahead of us"
An hour later, after they ate and forced Luffy to get dressed in confortable clothes, the three of them got into the car.
*Yawn* "Guys, what are we doing here? Where is my surprise?" He asked rubbing one of his eyes.
"To give you your surprise we have to take the car, brat" Answered Aizawa
"Huh? But that's not fair. Can't you tell me what it is?"
Hizashi shook his head "Absolutely not! Then how can it be called a surprise if you already know what it is?" He said "But you can sleep it will take us almost forty minutes to arrive to our destination"
"Okay" *Yawn* "Then, wake me up when we arrive" He said, immediately falling asleep in the backseats.
"Hehehe. When he is like this he can be a little cute" Hizashi said as he took several photos of the sleepy pirate.
Aizawa, who had his eyes fixed in the road, huffed sarcastically "Yeah, when he is not moving. The rest of the time he is a problematic ball of energy that creates chaos wherever he goes" He said in annoyance "He is a pain in the ass"
Hizashi then looked at him with a smug smile and his arms crossed "Oh, really? Shota, you can fool nobody. May I remind you that you were the one that prepared all of this?" He said seeing the other visibly tense "Although, you two have your fights and you constantly complain about him, I know that deep down you care about that kid more than you want to admit"
The other, having no argument to prove the opposite, could only growl at his partner while trying to cover the faint blush of his cheeks.
"HAHAHAHA. Don't be like that! You don't have to hide it from me, I'm also very fond of the kid"
Aizawa snorted "Whatever"

Some time later, with the sun already iluminating the entire city, the car finally arrived to its destination.
Once there, Hizashi turned to the back of the car to wake up the teen.
"Luffy, we've arrive!" He said, no, yelled in his face.
Luffy stirred in his seat a little anoyed, he wanted to sleep more but he knew that if he stayed there Eye-bags will drag him out with his scarf.
Reluctantly, he sat up and lazily opened the door of the car, nontheles once he got outside his body paralyzed when his ears capture a very familiar sound.
Immediately, his head snapped up and his eyes automatically widened at the sight of a scenery that he has missed a lot during the last couple of months.
The ocean.
He couldn't believe it. He had to rub his eyes several times to confirm he was not in one of his dreams. Apart from meeting his crew again, he had also constantly dreamed of returning to the sea and now he had it in front of him.
It felt almost unreal.
"You brought me to sea?" He weakily asked.
Hizashi half-hugged him "Yes. But that's not all, little listener" He told him.
For the first time since they got there, Luffy diverted his attention from the ocean to look at them "What do you mean?"
"Well" Started saying Aizawa "You can't expect us to bring you here and not enjoy it to the fullest" He said before looking at something in the distance.
Luffy quietely followed the man's gaze and when he got sight of what he was watching the young pirate couldn't help but let out a loud gasp.
"Is that...?" He mumbled.
Hizashi nodded with a grin playing in his lips "Yes, it is"
Before them, they saw a ship without sails quickly approaching the harbor.
"WE ARE GOING TO SAIL?!" Luffy's smile couldn't get any wider or brighter.
"Yes! That's right, little listener!" Anwered Hizashi "We are going to spend the whole day in the ocean! And we even brought food to eat while we are on the ship" He said pointing at the picnic baskets that were in the car trunk.
Luffy, with overflowing excitement, jumped towards the blond man and trapped him into a big hug "Thank you, thank you, thank you!"
"Your welcome, kid. Yesterday, you were feeling a little down so we figured out that this could cheer you up" He said hugging the boy back "But if you really want to thank someone you must know that this was all his idea" He told him, pointing with his finger to an embarrassed Aizawa.
Aizawa cleared his throat "Ahem... Well, that's not-..." However, he was suddenly interrupted when he felt someone tackle him. It was only thanks to his hero training that he manage to not fall to the floor.
"Thank you, Eye-bags. You are the best!" Luffy said as he wrapped his rubber arms several times around the man.
With the amount of force the boy was using, Aizawa could swear he felt one of his ribs breaking.
"Hey Kid, lossen up a bit. You are going to strangle me!"
However, the cheeky brat didn't let him go, instead he laughed at him.
"Don't wanna. Shishishishishi"
To his dismay, Hizashi didn't help him either, he was busy recording everything and laughing with Luffy.
You, bastard.
They were so focused on this scene that they notice another person approaching them.
"Well, well. After seeing this, I can safely assume that Young Luffy liked his surprise"
The three turned towards the new voice and, to their surprise, they saw Nezu in front of them.
"Nezu?!/ Little bear!"
"Hello, everyone!"
"Little bear, what are you doing here? Are you coming with us?" Luffy asked.
Nezu nodded "Yes! It has been quite some time since I went to the sea so I thought I could take advantage to the situation"
Huh? I don't buy it. Knowing him he has to have another reason. Shota thought.
"Besides, I wanted to ask you more about your world if you don't mind"
I knew it.
"Of course! Ask whatever you want" Luffy said finally freeing Aizawa from his grip.
"Excellent! Then, shall we go now? I would like to introduce you to the captain of the ship, Mr. Luffy"
"Yeah, let's go!" He yelled before lifting a surprised Nezu in his arms and started running to where the ship was anchored.

Captain Selkie and his second-in-command, Sirius, had already disembarked the ship. They were now waiting for their guests arrival when they saw, in the distance, a straw-hat boy running towards them while holding the principal of U.A. in his shoulder.
They had to blink twice to see if they were seeing things correctly.
"Captain, are you seeing what I'm seeing?" Asked Sirius.
"If you are seeing Nezu being carried like a sac of rice by a straw-hat boy while Eraserhead and President Mic are running behind him, then yes" He said not knowing what to think.
A few seconds later, Luffy, followed his guardians, stopped in front of them with a huge smile.
"Hi, I'm Monkey D. Luffy. Nice to meet you!" He said.
"Huh.."
But before they could answer, Nezu spoke up "Mr. Luffy, I know how excited you are but first could you put me down, please?"
"Oh! Sorry, little bear" He said letting him go.
"Don't worry. I'll admit it was a little fun" He assure him as he fixed his suit "Now, I think it's time for the introductions!" Nezu said before turning towards Selkie and Sirius "Captain Selkie, thank you for allowing us to go with you today. I know I gave you a very short notice, so I hope I didn't cause you any trouble"
After hearing his name, the pro-hero tried to recover his composure "Ahem... Of course not, Mr Nezu. I owed you a big favor so this is the least I could do" He said before drawing the attention to his partner " I hope you remember my second-in-command, Sirius"
The person mentioned made a little bow "Hello, Mr. Nezu. It's an honor to meet you again"
"Ah! Miss Sirius. How could I not remember you? You were really useful in that mission with the drug dealers"
"Thank you sir. It's an honor that you remember" She replied a little embarrassed.
"Well, I assume you'll remember Eraserhead and Present Mic. If I recall correctly you have already work together"
"Yes, of course" Replied Selkie
The four pro-heroes gave each other a nod and exchanged a few words before Nezu continue speaking.
"Then I will now introduce you to the reason we are here today" He said before turning towards our captain who was bouncing in excitement "As he had previously said, he is Monkey D. Luffy. He is Eraserhead's relative and he is staying with him while he attends U.A."
Luffy greeted them again with another smile "Yo!"
At that moment, Sirius recognized him "Hey, you are the student that won the Sports Festival, aren't you?"
The boy laughed "Shishishisi. Yeah, that's me"
"Oh! It's true, you are even wearing the same hat" Said Captain Selkie feeling a little dumb for not realizing him sooner "I was busy that day so I could only watch the final fights but you were great kid. You are pretty strong"
Luffy put both hands on his hips and grinned at him "Thanks seal guy"
"You see, Mr. Luffy loves the ocean he grew up in a village near the coast, so we thought that spending a day in your ship would be a great reward for winning this year's competition" explained Nezu.
"Oh really? That's great!" Commented Sirius.
The Captain nodded before addressing the boy directly "Well Luffy, it's a plesure to meet you. I'm Captain Selkie and my Quirk is spotted seal, basically I can do what a spotted seal can do like swimming at great speed and use echolocation to find criminals in open sea. Also my strenght is above the average human" He said flexing his muscles.
"And I'm Sirius. My Quirk is called Good Ear, it allows me to hear high and low frequencies sounds that normal people cannot. I can also communicate with Captain Selkie even when he is very far from the ship"
Luffy was looking at them with little stars in his eyes "Amazing! You are really cool!" He said, making them blush very easily.
Captain Selkie was very respected hero but not well-known so hearing words of admiration from young people always makes him happy "Oh! Thank you~" He said pulling out one of his cutest faces and embarrassing Sirius in the process.
"Shishishishi. You are really funny seal guy. I like you!"
Pleased with the interaction, Nezu continue talking "I think it would be the best to embark on the ship. Don't you think so, Captain Selkie?"
"Yes, of course. Please be-..."
"YAHOOOO!" Luffy didn't even let him finish before he aboarded the ship in one jump "Come on guys, what are you doing there?! New adventures are waiting for us!" He said before he sarted exploring the place.
The two memebers of the Oki Mariner crew were left with perplexed faces and Hizashi couldn't resist laughing at them "HAHAHAHA. Don't worry. You'll get used to his energy in no time. As long as he likes you and you feed him from time to time he will behave. At least for a while"
And while Erasehead and Nezu nodded to Mic's comment, the other two pro-heroes could only think that today will be a pretty interesting day.
My Hero Academia World, Eraserhead's and Present Mic's house [19:38]
"... and when I punched that guy his friends made a very funny face. Shishishi"
"Yeah, we saw it kid. We were there" Said Hizashi as eh openned the door with his keys "But next time you must ask for permission first, okay? What you did today was dangerous"
The rodent next to him nodded in agreement "Hizashi is right, Mr. Luffy. You can get into trouble very easily, remember that you are not allowed to fight villains on your own yet. You must wait until you get you lincense"
At their reprimand the pirate let ut a loud sigh "Yeah, yeah sorry. Won't happen again" Luffy replied not convincing anybody with his apology. Then he proceeded to enter the house "Now, where I was? Oh, yes! After I punched the guy I fought this big dude with knives in his hands, he reminded me of that guy that was with Crocodile in Vivi's country, and then..."
Despite he ignored their warnings, the adults could not hide their smile at the boy's antics. It was impossible to be mad at him when they saw him so happy.
At the end our plans worked out quite well. They all thought.
As they had initially planned, they spent the entire day on the ship patrolling the waters with Captain Selkie and his subordinates; and Luffy could not haven been more excited.
Except for the two or three times they had to rescued him after falling into the water, the rest of the journey went smoothly.
The boy spent most of the time playing with the Oki Mariner crew who, despite cursing Luffy's unlimited energy, grew fond of him rather quickly, especially Selkie.
As he has been promised, the pirate ate all the meat he wanted and also convinced Eye-bags to lend him his scarf for a few minutes, although later it took them half an hour to untangle him.
At the end of the day he even helped apprehending some minor drug dealers that did not put up much resistance after our favourite rubber boy destroyed their ships.
Undoubtelly, the boy considered today as one of the happiest days since he landed in this world.
Now, once they disembarked, the three adults found themselves with a even more energetic Luffy rambling all the way home.
As he kept talking and talking, the other three couldn't do other thing but listen attentively to what he was saying. Although he was repeating the same stories again and again, after yesterday's breakdown, not even Aizawa had the heart to cut him off.
"He looks happy" whispered Hizashi. Since they got off the ship, the pro-hero could sense that something in him has changed, he looked more 'relaxed' , his smile was wider and his eyes were more alive than ever.
"Indeed. I was worried he would feel more nostalgic with this trip but at the end this was an excellent idea. Well done, Aizawa-kun" Praised Nezu.
The person mentioned hid his face in his scarf and looked away embarrassed for the tenth time today "Whatever" He said struggling to maintin a neutral expression.
"So, are you going to stay for dinner?" Hizashi asked Nezu, while they still heard Luffy speaking in the background.
His boss gave him a light nod "If it's not a bother then yes, I would like to stay and talk a little more with Mr. Luffy. I'm still quite curious about that race he called 'Minks'"
"Okay. Then I'll go to-..."
~RIIING RIIING~
"Huh?! Why are my pants vibrating?!" Luffy said yelling in surprise interrupting himself.
Aizawa rolled his eyes in annoyance while Hizashi and Nezu let out a chuckle.
"It's your phone dumb-dumb. It looks like you received a message"
"My phone?" Luffy said a little confused until he reached into his back pocket and pulled out a black rectangular thing "OH! The magic stone you gave me!"
"HAHAHAHA. Yeah, that's it. Do you need help, kiddo?" Hizashi asked seeing Luffy having trouble to use it.
"Nah, I think I got it" He replied as he pressed one of the buttons on the device's right side "See? I did it" He proudly said as he showed the screen with a Jolly Roger as his wallpaper.
"Good job, Mr. Luffy. I see you are slowly adapting to our world's technology" Said the principal with a firendly smile "If you don't mind, may I ask who sent you a message?"
"Hmmm. Dunno, let's see" The teen, as he has been taught many times, pressed on a green icon called LINE that immediately sent him to his chat list "It's Little Bush!"
Hizashi arched his eyebrow "Who?"
"I assume it's a nickname for Young Midoriya" Replied Nezu, followed by a nod from Aizawa.
"And what did that kid want? I'm assuming it's not for homework" Said the black-haired man.
"Huh?" Luffy looked up fom the screen " He told me if tomorrow we could train together"
"Train?!" Hizashi asked surprised.
"Yep" Affirmed Luffy "After Pink Cheeks fight with the angry blond they asked me to train them..."
Flashback~
"Please. Train me, captain"
It would be an understatement to say that Izuku and Luffy were left a little puzzled by the girl's sudden petition.
"U-Uraraka-san, w-what are y-...?"
"Are you sure?" Luffy asked, interrupting his friend's mumbles.
Ochako looked up at him with a determined look on her face "I am, captain"
Luffy didn't break the eye-contact between them, instead he took a step forward. His usual happy demeanour was now replaced by a serious, almost cold, expression that sent a chill down her spine.
It was then when the girl felt the air dissapear from her lungs. She tensed when she recognize the sensation; it was Luffy's 'haki'.
Of course, he wasn't trying to make her faint like the villains in USJ, just intimidate her.
However, she didn't backed up, she stood firm in her feet not allowing herself to lower her gaze. Don't look away. You have to endure it; if you can't cope with this how do you expect to withstand his training. She said in her mind.
The seconds passed and Uraraka's nervousness was rapidly increasing. For a moment, she was even convinced he was going to reject her request, nontheless those thoughts were automatically erased when she saw a huge grin appear in his face.
"Okay, Pink Cheeks. I'll do it" He finally said.
A big sigh of relief came out of her mouth "Thank you, Luffy. I won't let you down, I promise I'll work really hard!"
The pirate smiled again "Shishishi. I know that Pink Cheeks" He said before turning towards his other friend "Look, Little Bush. Now, you'll have someone to train with!"
Uraraka gasped in surprise "Deku-kun? You asked the captain to train you too?"
The boys cratched his head a little embarrassed "Y-Yeah, I asked him when we were on our way here" He explained "He also used his haki with me. For a moment, he was really scary"
At his answer, Luffy laughed "Shishishi. Sorry, sorry, but I had to do it"
Uraraka shook her head "Don't worry Luffy-kun, we know why you did it. Right, Deku-kun?"
"Yes" The boy said "Luffy-san, you are really strong so it's only right to assume that your trainings will be really hard. By using your haki you were just making sure that we had the conviction needed to face you"
Luffy nodded "That's right, Little Bush. We don't have an island with giant beasts but apart from that I will do what Rayleigh did during my training. So, are you ready for that?" He asked with a smirk.
"Yes, captain!" They answered without hesitation.
End of the flashback~
Luffy smiled at the memory "We'll train in the school. Blondie, you can take me there in the metal box, right?"
Hizashi nodded "Yes, it will be no problem and it'll be good for you to interact more with your classmates"
"I agree" Said Aizawa "But remember Luffy, Midoriya and Uraraka are not your brothers or your crew so don't be too harsh on them. You can't go beyond breaking a couple of ribs, understood?" He explained looking at the teen in front of him who gave him a simple 'Yes' in response.
"You asking not being harsh on a sparring sesion? Are you sick? Are you really my husband?" Mocked Hizashi.
The other rolled his eyes again "You know that even in his base form the brat is still a beast, it's necessary to remind him that in this world most people can't keep up with what he considers a normal training, much less fifteen-year-old kids that can't fully control their powers" He explained with a bored expression.
Hizashi clicked his tongue "Yeah, you're right about that" He said before addressing the teen "Then Luffy, what time do you have to be there?"
"Well... Green bean said that Pink Cheeks will join us at 5pm but also he told me he wants to meet me one hour earlier"
"For what purpose?"
Luffy shrugged "Dunno"
"Well, maybe he just needs more time due to his Quirk. Among your class, he is the one who needs more help"
"Maybe" Admitted Aizawa before locking his eyes with Luffy again "Then Luffy, if you'll be busy in the afternoon, what do you say about training with us in the morning?"
The question caught him off guard "Wait, really?!"
The other nodded "Yes, remember you promised to teach us haki"
Hizashi sighed upon remebering that day "God, I can't believe I agreed to do it too"
"Shishishi. Come on Blondie, it will be fun!"
"That's the problem kid. I'm scared of your idea of 'fun'"
Meanwhile, Nezu, who had been hearing and assimilating what he has just heard, decided it was a good moment to interrupt their conversation "Excuse me, Mr. Luffy" He said capturing the teen's attention "I don't know if I heard wrong but, you said you are going to teach them haki?"
"That's right, little mouse!"
"So you are implying that other people in this world can learn it too?" He asked with growing excitement. He was feeling his maniac side wanting to take control too.
"Well, I don't know if they can use it like I do"
"And why is that?" He questioned the boy, however it was Aizawa who answered.
"I think I can answer that. For what the kid had said the extent of your haki depends greatly on the strenght of your will. The stronger the will the stronger your haki will be. Am I correct?" Luffy nodded "But that's only to awaken it, to master haki you must go through one hell of a training and if half of what Luffy has told us about his time with his mentor is true, then there is no chance for the average hero, much less an ordinary person, to develop it"
Hizashi hummed in agreement "Besides that, there is also one big obstacle for the people of our world" Intervened Hizashi "A lot of us depend mostly on our Quirks to fight, but we can't use it to awaken our haki. From Luffy's descriptions, his trainings were purely physical and involved a lot of pain. Even to Luffy, who has incredible strenght, it took him two years to master the basic forms of haki"
"Hmmm. I see" Said the principal a little dissapointed. However, he wasn't going to give up so easily "Mr. Luffy, at what extent do you think people like Aizawa and Hazashi, or even your classmates, are capable of developing haki?"
"That depends on them" He said laying on the couch "I think most of them have it, at least a little, but only one type. Old man Rayleigh said that people usually have afo- fini-..."
"Affinity?"
"Yes! Affinity! People have affinity with only one form of haki" He said his eyes fixed on the ceiling "Even from where I come, there are not many people that can control the three types. And if we talk about Ryou or future sight there are even less"
Nezu went silent for a few moments while pondering the boy's answer "Well, it's a pity. For a second I thought this could be the answer to eliminate the Quirk discrimination. If they could have access to haki they could at least have the power to protect themselves" He sighed loudly "Fortunately, there is still a bright side in all of this. If Mr. Luffy manages to teach you two and class 1-A even a limited use of haki, then we can implement it as a new subject from next year onwards. It would give a chance to people like Uraraka herself to keep up with villains with Quirks that are more suitable for direct combat, plus it would be a valuable lesson for all students. It will teach them to think differently and not focus solely on their powers"
Aizawa crossed his arms with a pensative expression "If we succed it will take while to develop a routine that won't kill them from exhaustion in the first class. Apart from that, it's a good idea; haki can also give us a significant advantage against more dangerous criminals and even the League of villains"
Nezu nodded recovering his previous enthusiasm "This is exciting, I need tea to fully enjoy the situation. Hizashi, do mind preparing a cup for me?"
"I'm on it!" The pro-hero said as he left the room.
"Excellent!" The rodent said happily "Now, Young Luffy. Tomorrow I will observe your traning through the cameras of the gym. I hope you don't mind"
"Nah, don't worry"
"Great!" He exclaimed "Apart from that, if you are able to teach haki would you be willing to hold classes for the students of the hero course and even some pro-heroes as a demonstration? It won't be something immediate, you'll have time to prepare and, of course, you will be paid accordingly"
Luffy put a hand on his chin as if he was thinking seriously about the rat's proposal "Hmmm, so... you are saying that if I accept I will be able to have more fights?"
Of course, he only got that part. "Ahem... Yes, indeed. Apart from that, you'll also recieve a salary like I said"
Luffy waved his hand like that was something insignificant "I don't care about that. You can give that money to Blondie and Eye-bags"
Aizawa's eyes widen in surprise "Are you sure, brat?"
Hizashi, who came from the kitchen with Nezu's tea, also intervened in the conversation "Yeah, kid. You are not forced to do that, we have a ton of money that we haven't spent because we are very busy with our jobs. I assure you that you are not trouble for us"
Luffy shook his head "I'm sure. You are the ones buying me food so it's better if you have it" He said putting his arms behind his head "And if I need it I'll just ask you to give me some"
Aizawa chuckled "You are too trusting. What if we keep it to ourselves?"
It was now time for Luffy to laugh "Shishishi. That won't happen, you are less greedy than Nami and she always give Sanji enough money to buy me a lot of meat so I'm not worried"
"HAHAHAHA. You are something else, Luffy!"
"You are impossible" Said Aizawa with a huff.
"Thanks!"
Nezu smiled "Well, if that's really what you want I have no problem! But if you change your mind you just have to tell me"
"Sure!"
"Well, it's almost eight. I think it's time to start preparing dinner" Hizashi said looking at the clock in the living-room.
At that moment, Luffy jumped from his seat "Hey Blondie! Can I help you?"
The immdiate response to Luffy's question was a clear "NO!" from both Hizashi and Aizawa.
"Eh? Why not?" He asked with a little pout.
"Because the last time you tried to cook something you almost burned the entire kitchen. That's why!"
"Hizashi-san. Aren't you exaggerating a little bit?" Nezu carefully asked "I'm sure it was not that bad"
"Not that bad? Not that bad?! Nezu, he set the water on fire, THE WATER!" Exclaimed Hizashi "I prefer eating the garbage Shota made when we started dating that letting Luffy cook again"
"HEY!"
"Oh, Lord. Then it was a truly a traumatic experience" Nezu said remembering the week Mic passed in Recovery Girl's infirmary due to severe food poisoning.
"Not you too!" Said Aizawa between embarrassement and annoyance.
"Sorry honey, but even the boss knows how bad you were"
"Then I cannot help?" Aked Luffy again.
"No, kid. I'm sorry but in this situation, the safety of our house comes first" Said Hizashi "You'll have to stay here with Shota and Nezu"
"Not fair" Luffy pouted, sitting again on the couch.
"Don't be like that, Mr. Luffy" Nezu said "Why don't you tell me more stories about your world? I found myself wanting to know more about the Minks"
Luckily, that seemed to peak his interest "Minks? Of course, they are really cool! All of them are my friends but Carrot, the giant dog and the giant cat are the best for sure. The first time we met the Minks was after defeating Mingo..."
Thanks to Nezu, Luffy completely forgot about his desire to cook; he was too focused on telling his adventure in Zou to think about other things.
Hizashi smiled at that before returing to the kitchen. Now, the only thing he has to worry about is making something that will please his boss.
My Hero Academia World, U.A. Academy [16:01]
Today was a pleasant afternoon. You could hear the birds sing, the laugh of children playing in the street and...
"Dear Lord, I want to DIE!"
... and Hizashi's cries of pain.
"I curse the day I let myself be dragged into that hell by you two"
"Shishishisi. You are funny Blondie"
The adult snorted, he didn't even had the energy to chuckle. He wasn't even sure how he was still capable of driving "I'm glad you find my suffering entertaining, Luffy" He sarcastically said.
"Don't be like that. You'll see that tomorrow will be easier, you just have to get used to it"
"Oh! Don't remind me! Why don't we just rest? I hurt muscles I didn't even know existed until today"
Luffy shook his head "Nop. If you want to use haki you can't skip days. Training hard is the only way"
The other sighed "I know, I know. But this better pay off at the end, because if not I will make sure you only eat salads until you go back to your world" He threatened him with a dark voice.
"Shishishi, trust me it will. It'll take a while but it will" He said looking out of the car window. They were already almost at the gates of the school, he could already see a certain someone waiting outside "Look! It's Little Bush"
"I know kid. Patience, we're almost there"
A few seconds later, Hizashi stopped the car in front a very nervous green-haired boy. Luffy didn't wasted a second and immediately rushed to greet him with a tight hug.
"Green bean!"
Izuku was startled for a moment, when he could react he hugged the rubber boy back "Green Bean? That's new, Luffy-san" He giggled before he noticed his teacher, Present Mic, inside the car his friend just got out off "Eh? P-Present Mic, g-good evening sir" He said making a little bow.
"Hi, little listener! Good to see you are already healed from the Sports Festival" Hizashi said giving the boy a tired smile before looking at the rubber demon next to him "Brat, it's their first tranining with you so don't be too harsh on the kids, okay? And remember to text me when you finish. But if I can't come to pick you up just go to the cafeteria with Lunch Rush or to Nezu's office until I arrive, understood?"
"Yes!"
"Good, then I'll go back home. Luffy have fun, Midoriya good luck! See you later, kids!"
After they saw the car disappear in the distance both boys proceeded to enter the school grounds. Once inside, Izuku finally explained to Luffy why he asked to meet up a little earlier.
"Huh? Mr. Steroids wants to see me? Why?" He asked a little confused.
"W-Well..." Come on Izuku, you can do it "It's... it's about what happened in the Sports Festival, during my first combat"
Luffy tilted his head "Your are talking about the mistery shadows, right?"
Izuku nodded "When you asked me about it I said I had to speak with someone before I told you anything, remember? Well, that person was All-Might"
As they conversed Midoriya guided Luffy towards the private offices that were located in the teachers building. Due to the couple of days of rest U.A. gave the students after the Sports Festival, all those offices were empty except for one, what will give them the privacy they needed.
"Hmmm. So, Mr. Steroids is going to tell me what those things were?"
"Yeah" I just hope he doesn't hate me when he know everything. He said in his mind.
A couple of moments later, the boy stopped in front of an specific door "It's here" He said before opening the door.
Of course, Midoriya was already informed that Luffy knew about the pro-hero's real form since USJ. Thanks to that he didn't panicked when, upon entering the room, they saw All-Might in his skeletical form.
"Young Luffy, Young Midoriya. Thanks for coming!" The pro-hero said. Although he greeted them with a smile, a hint of nervousness was still visible in his voice.
"Yo! Mr. Steroids, long time no see"
"Young Luffy, we saw each other two days ago"
"Oh! True, I forgot about that. Shishishi"
The pro-hero sighed "Well, you two take seat"
"Okay" Said the pirate as he sat on the couch in front of the hero. Midoriya, who was behind him, copied his action.
Being the airhead he is, our captain didn't notice the tense atmosphere of the room and simply started devouring the cookies in front of him.
"Young Luffy" All-Might said making the boy look up at him "Yound Midoriya told me that during his fight with Shinsou you saw seven figures in front of him before he managed to free himself from his oponent's Quirk, is that right?"
The dark-haired boy nodded "Yeah, it was weird because I think nobody else saw it"
"Did you have seen those figures before?" He carefully asked.
"Yes and no"
Midoriya and All-Might frowned "What do you mean by that, Young Luffy?"
"Well, I've sensed those things before but I haven't see them clearly. Not until that day"
At his response, the other two paled "S-sense them?"
Luffy nodded again as he ate another biscuit.
"A-and when and where d-did you sense it?" Asked Izuku this time.
"When you and Mr. Steroids use your powers. I still can sense those things when you are not doing anything like right now, but it's a lot harder" He replied like it was not the big thing.
All-Might's eye couldn't being more open "I see... Then I have no reason not to tell you the whole truth" He said as a deep, defeated sigh left his mouth "But I must warn you. What I'm about to tell you is clasified information that not even our Government have access to. If it's known it could be very dangerous, not only for you but for other people as well, so you can NOT tell anyone about this, not even your guardians. Innocent lives could be in danger if you don't keep this secret, did you understood?"
The firm voice that the pro-hero used caught the attention of the young pirate.
In response, his body languaged immediately changed, his relaxed posture shifted into a tense one while his arms crossed over his chest.
After a few moments of silence, Luffy finally replied "Okay, I'm listening"
All-Might nodded "Well, this story is almost as old as the first appearance of Quirks. It begins with two brothers..."
More than half an hour passed and in this time All-Might told him EVERYTHING. From the origin of One of All and All for One and how they work to their current situation with Midoriya and his problems to control it, including the boy's previous Quirkless status.
When he finished, Luffy was still in the same position trying to assimilate all the information he had received in a way that his brain could assimilate it and remember it.
A full minute passed before he was able to speak again.
"So, Mr Steroids gaves his powers to Little Bush and the shadows I saw were the people that had that One-whatever-thing in the past. And now, my friend had to kick the ass of a big mean guy that can steal powers and wants to destroy the world" He said before eating the last cookie in the plate "Well, it wasn't as bad as I thought"
For their part, All-Might and Midoriya looked at him a little startled that, first, he had understood everything the pro-hero had told him, more or less, and second, and what's more surprising, he accepted everything he said as if he just heard that the sky is blue.
Normally people are more shocked. Thought All-Might.
They didn't expect that reaction, and definitely they didn't expect what he said next .
"Well, then I will help you Little Bush. Together, we'll kick that guy's ass!" He said with a confident grin.
Midoriya, who was still assimilating his previous words, suddenly got up from his seat "WHAT?!" He was dumbstruck, he knew his captain was fearless but he didn't think it was at this extent.
"Y-Young Luffy, are you remotely aware of what are you saying?" All-Might calmly asked although he was in a similar state as his protégé.
"Of course I do. He has to fight someone really dangerous but I don't want Green Bean to go alone. He is my friend so we'll fight him together!" He firmly said, not leaving room for doubts.
All-Might wanted to discourage the boy from that idea but he stopped when he heard Midoriya's voice "Friend? Are you still considering me your friend after this?"
Luffy looked at him confused "Well, yeah. Why are you asking that?"
Izuku sat down again "Well..." He said while fidgeting with his fingers "...I j-just supposed that after knowing I originally didn't have a Quirk you wouldn't want to... you know, being near me anymore"
Luffy tilted his head "I don't understand. Not having powers it's not that important, I know a lot of people that dont have them and they are really powerful"
Izuku's expression was priceless "R-Really? A-Are you being honest?"
"Of course, why would I lie? Not having a Quirky-thing it's not a big deal. They are cool but that's it, you are not a better person for having powers and you can still achieve your dreams whithout them. They..."
"E-Even a hero?" Izuku asked interrupting him.
"Huh? What?"
"You think that even if you are Quirkless, you can still be a hero?" He asked again this time a little louder.
Luffy shrugged "Yeah, why not? Heroes are good people that do good things, right? You don't need powers for that"
After hearing his response, Midoriya was in the verge of tears, but this time he didn't bother to hold them back.
After years of harrassment and bulling, after years of being told that his dreams were stupid, that he was useless, a DEKU, finally having someone tellling him that not only he would still be friends with him despite not having One for All, but also believed he could still be a hero without a Quirk, was something he didn't knew he need to hear.
"Sorry *Sniff* it's just *Sniff* it's the first time someone has told me that, it made me very happy" He said giving the boy next to him a watery smile "Thank you"
Luffy smiled back and ruffled his hair "Not problem, Little Bush"
After Izuku tried to clean his face with his sleeves he took a look at the watch on his wrist.
"Luffy-san, it's almost five o'clock, do you mind if I go to the bathroom before going to train? I need to calm down a little"
"No problem. I'll wait here"
"Thanks"
After the boy opened the door, Luffy's face turned to the only person left in the room.
All-Might didn't avoid his eyes, instead he looked directly at them with a mix of incredulity, relief and admiration. He liked the kid before, but now he could centainly say that, although Young Midoriya will always come first, Young Luffy have quickly become his second favourite student.
"Young Luffy, I just want to say thank you. I admit that I wasn't really convinced when Young Midoriya told me that he wanted to tell you the truth about One for All but, at the end, I see it was needed, and it was what he needed. Having to carry that big responsability on his shoulders being so young is not easy, so I'm really happy that he has someone like you by his side. However, I still have a doubt"
"What?" Luffy bluntly asked.
"Do you really mean it when you said you are willing to fight One for All?"
Luffy frowned, feeling a little offended "Of course I do. I always keep my promises, besides he is my friend and friends always have your back. If he's gonna fight someone like him I want to be there" He replied without hesitation making All-Might smile brightly at him.
"Then, if that's your decision then I think I can do nothing to change your mind, right?"
"You are right. Shishishishi"
At that moment, a green mop of hair appeared at the door "Luffy-san, we must. Uraraka has just sent me a message. She is already in Gym Gamma"
"Okay, let's go!" He said getting up from his seat. Once he was at his friend's side he turned to give another smile to All-Might before going "Bye Mr. Steroids. It was really fun talking with you"
Midoriya smiled at him as well and made little bow "Goodbye All-Might and thank you for coming today"
"You're welcome kids. See you on Monday"
After that, both teens waved at him one more time before dissappearing from his sight.
When he knew he was alone, he leaned in the couch he was seated and replayed the entire conversation on his head. And at he end, he couldn't help but laugh, laugh feeling relieved that now Young Midoriya has a friend he can depend on and with whom he is now able to share all his worries and concerns.
That boy is too stubborn for his own good. However, I would be lying if I say I did not him equally entertaining. He thought. Maybe accepting his resquest for a combat wouldn't be a bad idea after all.

I had so much fun writing this chapter. Luffy's interactions with Nezu, Aizawa and Hizashi are some of my favorites.
Apart from that, in this world each person will have afinity with only one type of Haki (Armament or Observation, never conqueror's). And most people in this world will only awaken it but not fully master it so, generally, I will have them use Haki only when they are in a dangerous or critical situation, like a last resource technique.
Besides, most power-ups I came up with are more related to their own Quirks, like new moves or attacks, plus a GREAT physical improvement after Luffy's brutal trainings. I already have a couple of moves for Ochako that I'm really excited to write.
And don't worry next chapter are already the interships. I will probably do it in two - two and a half chapters maybe a little more.
Also, the part with Garaki and the hackers don't mind it too much. I have literally no idea about informatics or computers so I don't know if what I said is accurate or not but it sounded good when I read it so I leave it just like that.
Finally, what type of haki do you think fits Aizawa and Hizashi better? I'm still not sure. I think Aizawa could have armament and put it on the scarf but observation could be also pretty useful to him.
