Summary: Tao notices something different about M-21.
Shadow
By Dark Ice Dragon
"Heeey, M," Tao said, grinning as he and Takeo walked up to M-21. "Thanks for waiting for - huh?" Tao blinked at him. That...couldn't be right, could it?
M-21 raised his eyebrows at him. "What?"
"You haven't noticed?" Tao shared a wide eyed look with Takeo. He could see it too, right? Takeo nodded. Okay, good; he wasn't imagining things. As much as Tao had an active imagination and sometimes saw what he wanted to see, that was something he wanted to make sure he was seeing right.
M-21 didn't say anything, narrowing his eyes at both of them. "Notice what?"
"It's your shadow," Takeo told him.
But then, who really looked at their own shadow. Especially since M-21 had rolled his eyes up to the sky.
M-21 looked over his shoulder to look at the shadow he'd cast on the wall. "What about it?"
What about it? "It's the ears!" Tao burst out. Was he being glaringly oblivious, or could he not actually see it? Tao waved his hands in the air, placing them where he could see the ears high on M-21's head. They were triangular. "They're like wolf ears!"
M-21 rolled his eyes again. "It's just my hair."
"But M-!" Tao whined as M-21 started walking off. "Your hair doesn't stick up like that! There isn't even a wind!"
Tao was sure M-21's shadow was growing a tail, but that could have been because of his clothes.
Tao snapped a couple of pictures, but they were going to need proper lighting next time so they could prove to M-21 that he was getting a wolf shadow. And what did that mean anyway? Did it mean anything? Because of M-21's heart, was that a sign he was getting stronger, or was it a sign that the wolf was starting to take over? Hm.
Well, he would keep an eye on it, until they had more information, or until they met more werewolves and Tao could see what their shadows looked like.
