Chapter 21: Survival of the Fittest Part 2

I was suddenly pulled roughly from my seat and whisked away from Kevin. They brought me to Dick's conference room.

I tried to struggle to get out of their iron strong grip but knew it was impossible. I gave up and let them drag me over towards him.

"Ah, Kaylee. I think we should let our date continue after it was so rudely interrupted, don't you think?" Dick asked, offering me a seat beside him.

They sat me down at the chair and I huffed. "No, no, bring her to me."

They picked me up and brought me over to Dick. "That's it. Leave us be now." They left the room.

"What do you want with me?" I asked.

"You're a psychic, Kaylee. I could smell it a mile a minute. Lily Dale? I mean come on. Leviathans would get to know the future a little bit better if we had a psychic on our side. You're valuable," Dick said.

"Oh, well I don't really do that any more. See it's just tarot cards and palm readings and birthday parties-"

"Shut up. You're playing dumb. I know you still have visions of the future, Kaylee. They still haunt you at night. Bobby's death could've been avoided, huh? You could've stopped it."

"Stop it," I hissed. "I didn't dream about Bobby. I don't have those powers anymore. I don't know what you're talking about and that's the honest truth."

"What about the demon blood?" Dick asked.

"I don't know," I shrugged. "I've been dormant since the demon that did that to me died. Maybe I got lucky."

"Hmm. Maybe you just need the right trigger," Dick said. "Come here."

He got up and brought me into his lab where there was another leviathan waiting for him. He picked up a creamer.

"See this? This is going to kill the skinny people. Now, I'd consider you a twig, but I don't want to kill you. I want you made into one of us." He inhaled the air as if he was smelling it.

"You know, I may end up being one of the slickest little genocide in history."

"Or the worst," I frowned.

He gave it to the leviathan. "Thank you sir."

"Just sayin'. I smell promotion."

"I smell douchbag," I said.

He chuckled and turned towards me and drank the creamer.

"Maybe you just need the proper motivation to help us succeed in the future. Mother may I…." he changed his face to raw sharp teeth and his tongue lashed out at me. I shook my head and leaned back as he tried to bite my neck.

"Hey douchbag!" Dean called out. "Let her go, Dick."

Dick's face distorted back into his own. I looked at the floor and saw that the leviathan was on the floor, dead.

It was Dean and Castiel. I was relieved to see the angel. He had a cleaner bottle with him, while Dean had the machete in his hand. I wondered where Sam was.

"Little abrupt….but okay." Dick said. "Castiel. Good to see you again. Thanks for the ride into paradise."

Dean took out a bloodstained bone that looked sharpened at the end.

"And good on you! Putting that together. A plus." Dick said.

"Oh, you don't think this'll work, do you? You trust that demon?" Dean asked.

"You sure I'm even me, Dean?" Dick asked.

"No. But he is," Dean said and Dick looked at Castiel. I even looked at him. "See, here's the thing when dealing with Crowley – he will always find a way to bone you."

"This meeting's over."

Castiel moved towards Dick, but Dick through me to the ground. Castiel tried to reach for him but he grabbed him and flung him into a wall. Dean charged the bone into Dick's chest. I got up off the floor and stayed behind Dean. Dick gasped. But then he pulled the bone out and snapped it in two.

"Did you really think you could trump me?" Dick taunted.

"Honestly?" Dean took out another bone out of his jacket. "No."

Castiel pulled Dick's head back and Dean placed the bone sideways through his neck. He yelled. Sam and Kevin ran into the room. I looked over and smiled, relieved to see they were okay.

"Figured we'd have to catch you off guard," Dean said.

Dick's face transformed into a leviathan with its huge mouth and long teeth and a long tongue. He roared loudly before his face turned to normal. He grunted and black goo started to run from his nose. Waves of energy began to beat against his body, loud heartbeat reached everyone's ears until suddenly it exploded into black goo covering the entire lab, making us disappear.

"Wake up," Castiel's voice entered my ears.

I opened my eyes and turned to see Dean also waking up.

"Good. We need to get out of here."

"Where are we?" Dean stood up and helped me up off the ground.

"You don't know?" Castiel asked.

"Last I remember we saved Kaylee and ganked Dick," Dean said.

I frowned. I did not like where this was going.

"And where would he go in death?" Castiel asked.

"Wait. Are you telling me….?"

"Every soul here is a monster," Castiel said. There was a rustling in the trees that made my hairs stick up on the back of my neck. "This is where they come to prey upon each other for all eternity."

"We're in Purgatory?!" Dean asked. I widened my eyes. Oh great. "How do we get out?" he asked.

"I'm afraid we're much more likely to be ripped to shreds," Castiel said.

Dean and I turned to see two big creatures with red eyes watching us.

"Cas, I think we better-"

But he disappeared.

"Cas?" Dean asked.

"He left us, he left us….!" I panicked.

There was more noise in the background. Monsters. There were monsters upon us. I gulped. "What do we do?" I asked, terrified.

"We run," Dean said and pushed me to run forward. "Go, go, go, go!"
