Late Chat of Reason for Living

The shows the peaceful scene of the forest, but that peace was interrupted when one alone Alpha Beowulf is running through the woods being chase by four certain humans.

"That appears to be the last Grimm in the area, don't let it get away!" Violet ordered.

"You got it!" Kakarot nodded before powering up and flies away the Beowulf.

Kakarot flies over the Beowulf without being notice until he appears right in front of the wolf monster grabbing it by the face and slams it down on the ground.

"Got it!" Kakarot called out to everyone.

"Nice work, Kakarot! Better slay this puppy before something else happens." Krillin smiled.

Violet didn't hesitate to draw out her gun firing at the neck and tearing the head off, killing the Grimm they can find, and the entire area of the forest has been cleared of Grimm, at least for a long while for the guards at the border to rest up and get their strength back.

"Gotta say, I didn't think we'd be able to get any more Grimm than I thought we would not that I doubt you guys." Lazuli said causally.

"Hearing you say that now makes me feel like you were doubting us." Krillin exclaimed.

"Never said I did, on the outside." Lazuli crossed her arms.

"You're funny." Kakarot laughed earning a death-glare from Lazuli.

"Come on, it's time we head back to the border to give them the report, and hopefully they'll be able to take it easy." Violet ordered.

The four Hunters made their way back to the border after a long day of hunting Grimms that were stalking the border, like the group of Grimms they defeated earlier and some Grimms that managed to get away from the fight but were chased after and dealt with.

"Such a shame some of us could've fought those tougher Grimms when one monkey was hogging them for himself." Lazuli said in an upset tone.

"Heheheh, sorry about that. I just have a knack for wanting to fight the strong foes myself." Kakarot chuckled.

"Yeah, the guy tends to get into fights that may catches his attention the most." Krillin explained.

"I guess you could say it's like this nature instinct to fight the strongest ones to test my strength and push myself, I know I can always relay on my friends like Krillin here to have my back, but I also like to have my own battles." Kakarot explained while scratching the back of his head.

"While it's good to wanting the drive to push yourself, you should be careful of how you follow that instinct for it may have serious consequences to your actions." Violet pointed out.

"Try to be careful of what you do even when you're not entirely in control of yourself." Violet advised.

"Okay, I was always told that by my family to be careful." Kakarot smiled.

"(And yet I feel like you never heed their words fully.)" Violet thought sighed.

They arrived at the border line home as they found the guardsman who also happened to be the captain of the group, making the report about killing the Grimms in the forest and that the border line is safe for a long while.

"Thank goodness for you good folks to come. I only wish I was awake to greet you all with my second-in-command." The captain smiled.

"Do not trouble yourself, we were informed of the Grimms correctly and even warned us about the tough ones." Violet assured everything was alright.

"We kick their asses, though I'm disappointed we didn't find more to torture and kill." Lazuli said.

"Hold on, you still want to go on? But aren't you tired with your aura level down?" Krillin asked shock.

"Not quite, Semblance makes sure I don't get tired." Lazuli shrugged.

"Well, thank you for helping us. Since you're going to be with us for the whole week, feel free to do what you like around here, and hope you enjoy the food because one of my men won a contest that got him two years supply of meat, noodles, and vegetables too." The captain mentioned.

Hearing the word food and that it's two years-worth is making Kakarot's heart race crazy fast with his eyes widen of joy and his mouth open with drool about to come out.

"Oh boy, you just had to mention the food part." Krillin worried.

"Which way is to your food quarter?" Kakarot asked exciting.

"It's the red tent on the… right." The captain answered and weirded out of the monkey-Faunus running straight for the tent.

"Is he planning on eating all that food?" Lazuli asked a little shock.

"Believe or it, Kakarot was very close to being banned from the cafeteria for eating the most food if Ozpin didn't convince the cook otherwise, and the cook actually felt compassion naming Kakarot his ultimate challenge." Krillin explained.

"Oh yeah, now that you mention it, I do remember hearing a rumor about one of the first-year students trying to break the chef and almost leaving everyone hurry for a few days." Lazuli recalled hearing this rumor.

"Hold on, you mean to tell me that was him? The monkey boy?" Lazuli asked shock upon realizing this.

"That's him, and I'm the teammate to be stuck with him." Krillin admitted.

"Damn, how exactly have you managed to handle a guy like him?" Lazuli asked curious.

"Who says I'm managing?" Krillin sighed hanging his head.

"But despite his flaws, Kakarot has become my best friend since coming to Beacon and that positive attitude of his always make me feel happy to be alive." Krillin smiled.

"Not only that but seeing him being so strong makes me want to train harder too to become a Huntsman who won't let anyone be bullied for some stupid reason." Krillin determined reaching his hand to the sky.

"Really now, saving others from bullies." Lazuli said with a smile.

"I know it doesn't sound grand and exciting." Krillin laughed.

"No, I think it's cool, in a way." Lazuli complimented.

"Really?" Krillin asked shock.

"Yeah, you rarely see anyone being serious with a kind and gentle goal like that. Not to mention you want to the job because it's more than a title that will be given to you." Lazuli said with one hand on her hip.

"My twin brother and I wanted to become Hunters because it'll let us be free to do some fun, and to never let anyone control us ever again." Lazuli said with a serious glare in her eyes.

"Control Abusive parents?" Krillin asked.

"In most ways, yeah." Lazuli nodded.

"Well, I won't ask you about it since it's obviously a hard subject to talk about and it's your choice to talk about it when you're ready." Krillin said smiling.

"Thanks, I'll think about it." Lazuli giggled.

"So, about your Semblance? Does it involve your stamina or what?" Krillin asked.

"Right in the bullseye, my Semblance allows my stamina to never run out for a very long period of time." Lazuli nodded.

"Really, how long?" Krillin asked.

"I think the last time I check it was about 80 hours." Lazuli said.

"80 hours, that's over three days!" Krillin gasped.

Meanwhile, Violet has been listening to their conversation about the reason why they wanted to become Huntsman and Huntress in the first place, she smiles please with what she heard and decided to go ask Kakarot that question and hear his reason from his own mouth.

Speaking of Kakarot, the boy is already eating away his fifteenth plate of food much to the shock of the men in the tent and the cook is utterly surprised to see someone eating so much food.

"(By the Monty Lord! Could his stomach be bigger on the inside?)" The chef thought wondered.

"Oh man, your cooking style sure is something else. Different than from what I used to back at Beacon, but it all taste so good!" Kakarot complimented.

"Huh, thank you for the kind words." The chef thanked.

"Wow, I think you might break that chef." Violet chuckled walking up to him.

"Oh, hi there, Miss Violet. Want something to eat, the chef can make something for you." Kakarot greeted while talking with still food in his mouth.

"First off, don't talk with your mouth full." Violet flicked his forehead.

Kakarot realize this and quickly chews on the food that are still in his mouth and swallows them all and drinking some water to hold get them down and let out a sigh of relief.

"Sorry about that, I always forget the manner part when I'm eating." Kakarot giggled.

"I can see that." Violet said before sitting next to him.

"Do you mind if I have some of that? I think the people here would get the wrong impression that you want all the food for yourself and kill anyone if you approach." Violet asked pointing at one of the meats.

"You sound just like my family, I'm not that selfish." Kakarot said as he passes one plate of meat and veggies to her.

"Must feels nice to taste some good food." Violet commented.

"Yeah, food is always good and sometimes it's better when you eat with someone close to you like friends and families." Kakarot believed.

"Really now, is that why you decided to become a Huntsman? To enjoy good food like this with everyone around you?" Violet asked.

Kakarot stops eating for a moment as he was a little surprise of the question out of the blue like that though does some thinking, asking himself that same question of why he wanted to become a Huntsman and what exactly is his goal.

"Well, I always had this goal in mind before I got accepted into Beacon and that is to fight the strongest fighters, I cross path with and to keep on surpassing myself." Kakarot said.

"But do you want to get stronger? To fight more strong opponents?" Violet asked curiously.

"I'm not really sure myself exactly, but I just want to get stronger and stronger and stronger still!' Kakarot smiled.

"But that doesn't mean I won't use my strength for good. I know there are a lot of bad things in the world like Faunus and humans still hating each other and Grimms hurt a lot of innocent people just for pure destruction." Kakarot said with a slight serious look in his eyes.

"There are also people going about doing wrong things even though it may seem like the right reason which is not in my opinion." Kakarot said, anger of the memories of Adam.

"Deep down I really want to help Remnant as much as I want, so I want to get stronger to protect my friends and family so we can all enjoy some peaceful days together like eating all this delicious food together!" Kakarot determined strong and true before getting back to his eating.

"Funny, it's a rare thing for someone to fight for peace and food at the same time." Violet commented.

"It is?" Kakarot asked.

"That or you could be a special case with a unique soul." Violet grinned.

"Never forget those feelings of being a Hunter because I never once regretted becoming one." Violet smiled as she eats her plate.

"You got it, ma'am!" Kakarot saluted.

"(I wonder how Blake and the others are doing on their mission, I bet they must've found the White Fang's hideout by now.)" Kakarot thought hoped cheerfully for the success of his sister's team.

(With Team RWBY and Oobleck)

But Kakarot couldn't be more wrong.

Upon arriving at Mount Glenn where team RWBY's mission would take place along with Bartholomew to find the White Fang, they haven't found a single clue about them and have only been fighting Grimm all day.

Mount Glenn was once going to be the expansion of Vale and it worked for a while, but the city got overrun by Grimms and became dead as the city is a reminder of the kingdom's biggest failure.

But right now, while most of team RWBY are asleep and Ruby is on first lookout, Yang is the one awake and having some thoughts thinking.

"Blake, are you awake?" Yang asked.

"Yeah." Blake responded, showing that she has been awake as well.

"Why do you think he asked us about being a Huntress? Like, what was he trying to say?" Yang wondered.

During the mission and fighting Grimms, Oobleck had asked each member except for Ruby about why they decided to become Huntresses which they gave their own answer, but now they are starting to feel like they weren't entirely being honest with themselves.

It's like something their history teacher put in their heads and now there are trouble by these thoughts.

"Maybe he was just curious." Blake guessed.

"You think?" Yang asked.

"No." Blake answered looking sad.

"Weiss, are you awake?" Yang asked her white-haired princess teammate.

"Of course, I'm awake! You two are talking." Weiss answered as she rolls herself to look at the ceiling.

"And I think he... When I said I wanted to honor my family's name, I meant it. But it's not what you think. I'm not stupid. I'm fully aware of what my father has done with the Schnee Dust Company. Since he took control, our business has operated in a... moral gray area." Weiss said with a sad expression.

"That's putting it lightly." Blake commented.

"Which is why I feel the need to make things right. If I had taken a job in Atlas, it wouldn't have changed anything. My father was not the start of our name, and I refuse to let him be the end of it." Weiss determined with her fist clutch, thinking of surpassing her father with a different approach.

"All my life, I fought for what I thought was right. I had a partner named Adam. More of a mentor, actually. He always assured me that what we were doing would make the world a better place. But of course, his idea of a perfect future turned out to be not perfect for everyone. I joined the Academy because I knew that Huntsmen and Huntresses were regarded as the most noble warriors in the world. Always fighting for good. But I never really thought past that. When I leave the Academy, what will I - how can I undo so many years of hate?" Blake wondered while remembering her former partner.

"I'm sure you'd figure it out. You're not one to back down from a challenge, Blake." Yang believed.

"But I am! I do it all the time! When you learned I was a Faunus, I didn't know what to do, so I ran! When I realized my oldest partner had become a monster, I ran! Even my Semblance! I was born with the ability to leave behind a shadow of myself; an empty copy that takes the hit while I run away!" Blake blamed herself.

"That's now how Kakarot sees it." Yang said making Blake curious.

"He would tell me how amazing you are with your skills and Semblance, you're like the ultimate cat ninja destiny to do good for all of Remnant and the entire universe!" Yang replayed the words Kakarot said to her.

Blake blinks a few times and starts to feel happy with some laughing. Even when the two are far apart from each other, Kakarot can still make her big sister happy in his own way.

"Kakarot has always been the happy kind of guy whether it comes to fighting or food or caring for his friends. Ready to go off adventuring for a good fight." Blake smiled.

"That's something we got something else in common." Yang chuckled but look sad again.

"At least you two have something that drives you. I've just kinda of always, gone with the flow, y'know? And that's fine, I mean, that's who I am. But how long can I really do that for? I wanna be a Huntress, not really because I want to be a hero, but because I want the adventure. I want a life where I won't know what tomorrow will bring. And that'll be a good thing. Being a Huntress just happens to line up with that." Yang admitted and looked over Ruby.

"I'm not like Ruby, she's always wanted to be a Huntress. It's like she said, ever since she was a kid, she'd dreamt about being the heroes in the books. Helping people and saving the day, and never asking for anything else in return. Even when she couldn't fight, she knew that's what she wanted to do. That's why she trained so hard to get where she is today." Yang explained, feeling proud of her little sister too.

"Well, she's still just a kid. And so is Kakarot." Weiss pointed out.

"They're only two years younger. We're all kids." Blake countered.

"Well, not anymore. I mean, look where we are! In the middle of a warzone and armed to the teeth!" Yang gestured of the dead city they're in.

"It's the life we chose." Blake said.

"It's a job. We all had this romanticized vision of being a Huntress in our heads! But at the end of the day, it's a job to protect the people! And whatever we want, will have to come second." Weiss stated.

Oobleck is listening to all of what the girls are saying while pretending to be asleep, proud smiling of those students.

KO a new chapter is done and hope you all enjoy it!

Well, things sure went deep with the talking of why each student wants to become a Hunter though it looks like WBY had a lot more thinking about themselves, but they got their resolves through and they're gonna have to steel themselves when something unexpected is about to happen soon.
