Chapter 3 – Do you want a repeat?
A slew of interviews greeted me the next morning when I got to work. I'd slept quite well considering my mind was all over the place, Jungkook being front and centre. After we'd left the photo-shoot and headed back to their hotel, I'd been told I was free to go home and having found no reason to stay longer, I'd bid them all goodbye and headed away. Alone. Jungkook had a meeting booked with the other members that was member only and I understood that. But I had seen his eyes lingering on me as I'd said the same casual goodbye to him as I had to the others and the way his tongue had popped into his cheek briefly when his eyes hit mine, not missing the look in them before he glanced away. It made my mind tick over with thoughts of what he might be thinking about and really hoping it was about me.
So here I was now, watching what interviews conducted in another country and language looked like. And it was both interesting and irritating as I listened to some of the questions. I knew the questions were generally talked about beforehand but I wondered how many times they'd heard some of them as they weren't very original. Nicole was in their ear, courtesy of earpieces so she could interpret in real time and even that part was fascinating for me.
"And so, you're in town to film some music videos?" This interviewer was number four of interviews conducted at the hotel; young, pretty and definitely had her flirt on. Namjoon was the one mainly answering in English for them all while the others interjected from time to time.
"We are and some other projects that we will be revealing in the next few months." A polite way of saying, mind your business. This one had been trying to pry information out of them for the last 5 minutes but thankfully it was wrapping up soon for the next person to arrive. It was a well oiled machine of reviewing the questions in another room with staff, then the interviewer entering in to meet the guys and conduct their interview while the next one ran through the questions with staff in another room. It was busy, sometimes loud, always chaotic until the cameras were rolling and, since most of them had been young females doing the interviewing, a little annoying for me.
"No spoilers for what we can look forward to?"
I caught a small gesture from Yoongi, a change of position where he crossed his legs and maybe sighed. He was over it all already.
"I have been known to spoil things from time to time," Namjoon answered with a laugh, "but when the time is right, we'll let ARMY know first."
"Well, our time is up but we'd like to thank BTS for chatting with us today. They're handsome, talented and did I say handsome," she said again with a giggle and I rolled my eyes, wanting to gag but knowing that would likely be a little too obvious. "I've been Bethany-Jane and this was Up and Coming."
As the cameras cut, Bethany uncrossed her legs and stood up, drawing attention to herself by smoothing her skirt down her legs. Mission accomplished as most of their eyes were watching her in preparation for saying goodbye, eyes sliding politely away when they lingered too long. They had been trained well in their idol role to not be caught doing anything that might be considered inappropriate.
"Thank you guys, that was great. I'd love to interview you again when you're next over here." She giggled again and I found the sound grated on my nerves.
"Our management knows how to reach you," Namjoon answered, reaching to shake her hand as they all bowed in her direction and a staff member guided her swiftly away. She looked a little bewildered at the departure, maybe thinking she could linger to chat but they had two more interviews to get through and extra conversation wasn't part of that plan.
A collective breath was let out once she was gone and a couple of the members laughed lightly.
"Foreign women are so," J-hope started and Jin cut in.
"Yes they are."
"Are what," I called out as they were stretching a little in their chairs, raising an eyebrow at them in question.
"Are fabulous," Jimin answered with a wink.
"Friendly for sure," Jin added.
"A lot are quite flirty," Yoongi said, sounding as bored as he looked and I briefly wondered what type of woman was his ideal as he gave the impression that not many people could break down his walls.
They were watching me as they answered, maybe not sure yet if they had offended me or whether I was teasing.
"Intense," Jungkook piped up and I turned to look at him.
"Intense huh," I asked and his eyes slid away from mine.
"Sometimes," he added, not looking at me. I stared at him for a moment before noticing the look Tae and Jimin were exchanging before they smirked at each other. I cleared my throat and they looked at me, Jimin shrugging.
"What? That's definitely true," he said with a grin and I rolled my eyes at them all as the door opened and the next person arrived through the door and they switched back to professional mode. But I quickly allowed myself to glance at Jungkook and although he was looking down, he had a grin on his face and I knew he had been listening the whole time. Intense? I definitely wanted him to tell me exactly what he meant by that.
There was quite a bit of yawning, shuffling and stretching as the after lunch work debrief came to an end. Staff and Namjoon lead most of it and I was included so I'd know what to expect. It looked like the next few days would be very busy and I would be called to work on my own as opposed to working alongside Nicole. I knew I could do it, it was just a little daunting.
"And so everyone has about three hours free now," Namjoon finished, flicking through the papers in front of himself, closing it back down to the front sheet. "We just have to be back here at 545pm as we have a work dinner tonight."
Jungkook's head had snapped up from where he was looking down at his fingernails, eyes flicking quickly to me and back to the group. During the discussions I had been painfully aware that Kook and I were trying to avoid looking at each other.
"Oh good, I have a couple of songs I want to finish," Yoongi said, stretching as he went to stand up.
"Can I come help hyung," Jimin asked, standing to join him.
"Why don't you come hang with me Jimin-ie so Yoongi hyung isn't interrupted by you constantly," Tae said, looking at his phone.
"Aren't you going to hang with Jungkookie?"
Tae looked up, a smirk on his face. "I think Jungkook has plans, right Kook?"
"Ah plans? Yeah, yeah, I'm going to catch a nap this afternoon, sleepy and all that." Jungkook sounded casual about his response but his ears had gone a little red at the tips, something that didn't go unnoticed by at least a couple of his friends who were looking at each other, attempting to hide smirks.
"Right, bed is the best place to be at 2pm on a Wednesday," Jimin was grinning now, especially as Jungkook's face dropped into a frown. I avoided everyone's eyes, carefully going over the confidential paperwork I had been given for the next few days, not wanting to read anything into what was being said around me. But my stomach was twisting because I really hoped I understood what they were insinuating.
"Let him be Jimin-ah and go hang with Tae so Jungkookie can... sleep." Yoongi was looking away from everyone as he said it, met my eyes briefly with an eyebrow raise and walked to the door of the room. "See you all for dinner."
"Bye Yoongi," Namjoon said, frowning at the conversation going on around him. "Am I missing something?"
"I don't know about that but I'm going to play some games now," Jin said, standing up and walking towards the door too.
"I'm going to practice," Hobi said and soon there were only a few of them left as managers and staff left with members or back to their room to work.
"Marley-ssi, you're welcome to relax and rest here if you would like," Namjoon said politely as he stood to leave.
"Oh thank you, I may actually go for a walk, it's a nice day for some fresh air."
"Sure, no problem. Thank you for today."
"No problem Namjoon-ssi," I called as he left.
"Well, I'm going to my room, no doubt I'll be asleep in ten minutes so don't worry about me until half an hour before we need to leave," Jungkook said to his manager. "Come knock on my door then?"
"Sure Jungkookie," his manager said, looking back to his iPad and I met Kook's eyes across the room as he raised them at me.
"Oh," Jungkook called back when he got to the door of the hotel suite. "All our rooms are on this floor aren't they? I've already forgotten which one is mine?"
"You're in 316," his manager called back and Jungkook made sure our eyes met again as he grinned.
"Room 316? Thanks hyung," and he let the door swing behind him, singing to himself as it did and I smiled. Apparently Jungkook was very good at this game of hiding in plain sight, giving me all the information I needed as I stood up a few minutes later to go for my 'walk'.
I announced that to no-one in particular, just the room in general and a few of the remaining staff smiled at me before they went back to what they were doing and I made my escape, knocking on door number 316 that was swung open as I was quickly pulled inside and into Jungkook's arms.
"Almost three hours," he said into my hair as he hugged me close.
"Yes, that is a chunk of time Jungkook," I laughed as he pulled away from me, leading me into the room and onto the sofa as we collapsed in a heap together.
"I was joking earlier when I said I was planning on sleeping for the afternoon."
"You don't need to explain your plans to me," I answered as he reached for my hand.
"I was hoping I did so you'd know what I wanted us to do this afternoon. And it isn't sleeping," he said as he leaned in to lightly kiss my lips, leaving me breathless and wanting, the taste of need on his breath.
"Oh, it's not? Well, I did tell everyone I might go for a walk. Want to join me," I teased.
"If the walk is from here to my bedroom, then yes," he said, a smirk on his lips and brightness in his eyes. They flashed at me as he looked so intently that I didn't want to look away, couldn't look away, didn't look away.
"Marley," he said, leaning in again.
"Jungkook," I answered, leaning even closer.
"Do you want a repeat of when-"
"-yes," I breathed out. Because I did want.
And he grinned into my mouth as his hand found my jaw, holding it gently in his grip as he kissed me again. Kissed me like he'd been wanting me all those months too, like we had picked up where we left off on that morning after our one long night. His lips were soft but sure and the glide was everything I had been waiting for.
Pulling away, we stared at each other and I remembered something I wanted to ask. "What did you mean earlier about intense?"
"Oh," he laughed, lips damp from our exploring and my eyes kept flicking to them as he reached out and touched my wrist, encircling it with his hand and lightly tugged to pull me closer. "I do think foreign women are more intense than what we're used to back home."
"Am I included in that then?" I was fishing for information, maybe delaying the inevitable a little to build the tension as he ran his hands up my arms, lightly stroking the exposed skin and uncovering more with his movements.
"I have definitely experienced intense with you, yes."
I blushed at this, the look in his eyes reflecting what I was probably showing now in mine.
"Taehyung and Jimin seemed to understand what you were meaning," I added as he leaned forward again, almost pressing his lips to my neck and my breathing hitched a little as I waited for the contact that didn't come.
"Oh, well, yeah," he answered, breath warm against my skin. "We talk about almost everything."
"Should I be embarrassed that they know about us?"
"They don't know everything, just enough to know why I was asking for you to be the one to help us on this trip." His lips found the junction in the centre of my neck, pressing lightly, enough to make contact and start a fire.
"And that's because I am an excellent translator," I asked and I could feel his smile stretch against my skin.
"You are excellent at a lot of things," he replied, peeling my top back a little to kiss the skin hiding underneath and my eyes automatically closed at the feeling before he dropped the fabric back down into place.
"Wait, just let me," he started as he reached for his phone, pulling it from his pocket. We'd both pulled back and it gave me a moment to run my hands through my hair as his unlocked his phone and his fingers flew over the keys. His hands were distracting. "I've set an alarm for a few hours time. Just so we don't get a knock at the door and still be, ah, whatever is happening here and now." His eyes went up as if he was questioning what we were about to do, maybe seeking permission.
"Yeah, I don't want to be disturbed as I don't plan to be wearing these for much longer," I replied, touching my top and pants as my hand slid down them, falling to land on his thigh. He wet his lips with his tongue and nodded, eyes focused on my touch.
"Two hours won't feel like enough time," he said, pushing me slightly to fall further back on the couch, body landing lightly to cover mine.
"Before this goes any further and we have to stop mid way again, do I have to sign another NDA?" My breath was coming quicker, words sounding a little breathless.
"No Marley," he answered, reaching back in for another kiss. "The last one you signed was forever, didn't you read it before you signed your life away to us?"
"In that moment, I didn't care Jungkook," I said as our noses touched, breath swapped between us.
"Do you care now," he asked, finding the small of my back and resting his hands there.
"Only about making the most of the next few hours," I said and he delved in, mouth and hands taking me back to the night I'd always remember, beginning to carve new memories on my body and lips.
"Well, thank you for that," I teased, face flushed with the afterglow. "I was hoping to have a repeat performance from last time and you delivered."
"Just one performance?" His eyebrow was raised and I didn't understand what he was asking.
"I thought we would aim for the whole concert tour," he continued and my mouth fell open, probably looking like an idiot. Last time, it had just been that one last night. One very, very memorable night. And I'd definitely gone into this job hoping there was something there, enough for another memorable night at least. It gave me a boost knowing he had come back here hoping for lots more than just one more night.
"Oh? You think you have the stamina for a whole tour?"
His response, looking up at me cockily from where he was nibbling at the flesh on my thigh was all I needed to know he meant what he said. I giggled as he teeth grazed my skin, sighing into his touch.
"Why are you so perfect," I asked, grumbling that I was a mere mortal next to him. We'd found our way to his bedroom, I couldn't even remember that happening, too caught up in the touches of his hands and mouth on my skin.
"Definitely not perfect," he answered, resting his head on my leg, fingers lightly stroking. "I get grumpy when I'm tired."
"That's everyone Jungkook," I said rolling my eyes. I could think of at least ten things that made me less than perfect and he managed to come up with the fact he got grumpy.
"And I also get jealous."
"Oh?" Interesting. Because I'm sure he never had a reason to worry when someone was with him. As if they could someone more talented, more handsome.
"Yeah, if I'm with someone. I like all of their attention."
"You have mine now," I said, meeting his eyes.
He grinned. "I would hope so. I just gave you an amazing or-,"
"-OK, OK, add cocky to the list of things that make you less than perfect!"
"You didn't deny it though? It was amazing?" I could tell he knew it was, it wouldn't have been hard to tell from my reaction but maybe there was a hint of insecurity in his question.
"Yes, Jungkook, it was amazing and more than once," I answered feeding his ego and he flopped back with a grin.
"I could tell."
I just rolled my eyes at him again and he grabbed my wrist, pulling me up more towards his body. Lying on his back, head resting against the pillows, I looked down at him from where I was propped up on my elbows. This close, I could see everything about his features, how his eyelashes seemed to rest for longer than necessary when he blinked, catching my eyes and drawing them to his own rich brown ones. He was absolutely gorgeous and this extra time together was giving me so many feelings that churned and warred because it was so much more complicated than I wished it was. But I pushed those aside for now, to live in the moment.
Jungkook was watching me too, reaching up to where my hair was falling around my shoulders. Taking a wave of length, he played with it for a moment.
"Do you like my hair out like this," I asked, curious, mostly wearing it up for work. Most of the women he interacted with back home probably had quite different hair from me.
"I do, I like it however you wear it though, it's soft, pretty." His fingers moved to lightly rub down from the crown of my head to the ends and I sank into the touch.
"You must have a preference though, guys seem to from my experience."
"Honestly? I really like it when it's in a messy bun like when we first met you and you have those little bits that fall free around your face and yeah," and his voice trailed away, lost in thought.
"Oh, you like that, do you," I asked, leaning forward to press a kiss on the underside of his jaw.
"Very much," he hummed, pulling me so I was laying, mostly covering his body even as he continued to stroke my hair.
"What exactly do you like about it?"
"It's cute. And sexy. And yeah."
"You keep saying yeah. Spit it out."
"Spit it out," he asked, looking confused at the phrase.
"Oh ha, that just means say what you want to say."
"Why don't you just ask that then?"
"It's not like Korean isn't full of metaphors! Anyway, you're getting sidetracked. What else did you want to say?"
"Want to hear compliments huh," a grin on his face as he pecked my lips lightly. I could never get sick of the combination of his voice, his touch, his mouth on mine.
"You can talk! You wanted one earlier about how good you are in bed. But, yeah, always," I said, returning his light kiss, with my own, fingers creeping up his biceps to rest there. "So?"
"Well, it's just that when your hair is tied back like that, I can get a good grip."
"A good grip?" I asked and he cocked his eyebrow at me. "Hey what," I spluttered as he quickly sat up, pulling me onto his lap, reaching up to gather my hair in his hand, twisting it around his fist.
"A good grip," he repeated softly, breath warm in my ear, tugging my head back, my neck exposed to his mouth. Locking my feet around his hips, I leaned into his lips as they roamed over my skin, closing my eyes and feeling it all. The way his hand held my hair caused my back to arch, pointing my chest towards him and as I opened my eyes, I saw he was watching me.
"See why I like it," he asked as his mouth fell from my neck, lower, tongue grazing my breasts and a noise slid from my mouth, half word, half moan at the feeling.
"Mmmhhmmm yup," and he let his hand go, point made as my hair fell around us again, hands guiding me back onto the bed until he was hovering over me and my hair fanned out underneath us both.
"Definitely a favourite," he smirked, eyes on mine before mine closed again in perfect submission to his touch as we sunk back into each other, making the most of every minute before the alarm sounded to let us know our time was up.
A/N – Just want to say that this chapter was almost completely written before Golden came out so a bunch of things in this story and words from the songs are purely coincidental but I couldn't be happier about that timing :)
