Season 2 Episode 2: The Candy Monster

Episode Summary: The Mystery Shack is invaded by a naked little man that steals their Summerween candy, can the Mystery Gang catch this bizarre thief?

Episode Short #8: The Candy Monster

He knew after the crazy night they had he should be trying to get some sleep, and Ford had planned to, but found that sleep never came. Stan however, who could fall asleep at the drop of a hat; had done so hours ago. Fids who had decided to spend the night was right alongside him. Cooper had stolen Ford's own bed about an hour later, leaving Ford to sleep on the floor with Buddy.

Of Course, Buddy had wanted a bed, and had admitted to the fact that he never slept on a floor in his life, but he wasn't willing to fight for it. Not that Ford could blame him, who would want to fight Cooper? The guy ate a monster. Then again so did Fids…

Finally, the Girls were down stars in the living room. With it being so dark and late out Grauntie Mabel had insisted they all stay the night. And after the movie everyone retired for the night. All but Ford who was speaking into the camera which he had set up on a chair. Since he couldn't sleep, he decided to film his latest video. The topic wasn't as exciting as today's earlier events, but he still felt like it was important to get it done.

"Well, that concludes Gravity Falls anomaly number thirteen, the Möbius chicken strip it's infinitely delicious!" He said, holding up the strangely twisted chicken strip before biting into it.

He stood up from his seat to turn off the camera, but something ran across the floor from the open window knocking the chair over and diving into the kid's leftover Summerween candy. Ford backed away in shock, and then snatched up the camera from the ground. "Guys Wake up!" He said as he stared at the monster.

Fids sat up almost immediately.

Stan was less eager. "Never." Stan said as he rolled to face away from Ford. "Let me sleep forever."

Ford grabbed him arm and shook. "Some creature just jumped out of nowhere! It's eating our leftover Summerween candy!" He said urgently, knowing that that up.

"What!?" Stan yelled jumping up.

His scream woke up Buddy and Cooper

"Ew, it's like a... naked little man." Cooper said as he watched it eat.

"Get it away." Buddy demanded.

Ford grabbed a square of cardboard and scrawled the name of the episode on it. "Okay, this is now Ford's Guide to the Unexplained, # 76, uh, 'That Thing?'" He said as he pointed the camera to the sign before he pointed it at the beast in question.

"Really?" Cooper asked.

"When we're all famous one day you'll thank me." Ford remarked.

"No, put it down. Put it down…" Stan said desperately as the monster picked up his candy bucket. The monster ignored him and began to lick the bucket. "Oh, gross!" he complained.

"So, genius what do we do?" Cooper asked.

After a brief argument, Ford had convinced the boys to help him capture the creature. He now stood covered in what he assumed was Mable's stuffed animals and wielding a golf club with a bucket for a helmet. "Okay, I'm ready. I've covered myself in armor."

"Lame." Cooper joked.

"We're going to capture him for profit!" Buddy said with a wide grin.

"For science!' Ford and Fids hissed.

"And for candy!" Stan added as he watched the monster eat with fear in his eyes.

"Make sure to post this if I die or something." Ford said as he approached the small monster. The two circled each other, until Fids slowly moved some candy on the floor towards Ford prompting the monster to try to stop him. Ford lunged and narrowly missed trapping the monster with the basket, and the monster scrambled up the ceiling.

"Oh! Die mutant! Die!" Stan said as he threw a stuffed animal, which missed the monster and fell back down to hit him in the face. The monster left the room and race down the stairs onto the first floor. The boys followed, Stan screaming a battle cry as he went. "Save the candy!"

They stopped in the living room and find the girls all standing on top of the couch trying to stay out of its reach like it was some mouse running across the room.

"What is that thing?" Susan asked.

"And why is it naked?" Heather gaged.

"We don't know." Ford admitted stopping. "It came through the window."

Suddenly all was still.

Ford looked around the room while Stan held the camera. "Where is it? Have you seen it?" Ford asked, seconds later the beast launched itself at his face, and began scratching. Ford fell to the ground, and the monster grabbed the bucket of candy before running into the kitchen. The children run after it and see it climb on top of the refrigerator. Ford threw a can in an attempt to knock it down, but it missed, and the monster retaliated by throwing candy down at him.

Stan stared in horror at the candy that was hitting the ground. "He's wasting candy! Ford, open your mouth! Try to catch the candy in your mouth!" he ordered.

Ford looked at this brother like he was crazy. "What? No, why would I…" He stopped as a piece of candy fell into his open mouth. "Actually, that's pretty good…" He said with a small smile, before the monster knocked him over with a candy bar and ran past them and back into the living room.

The creature stepped on the remote as he ran, turning on the TV. It turned to look at the bright screen and then sat, entranced.

"Look! He's hypnotized by the TV." Heather said excitedly.

Ford walked over and waved his hand in front of the monster's face, receiving no response. "And he dropped the candy."

Stan was on it in seconds. "My precious." He said with a sigh.

What a dummy." Cooper taunted.

"Yeah." Ford agreed "Glued to the... to the... Oh, I love this movie."

"Me too." Cooper admitted as they sat down together.

Stan walked over, ready to shake his brother out of his trance, but stopped as he caught a glimpse of the screen. "Ooh, this is the one where that guy does that one thing to the baby goat!" He realized sitting down to watch.

Fids shrugged and joined them.

"Really?" Heather asked as she joined them and the monster by the TV.

Susan reluctantly followed suit. "It's not so bad." She promised as Buddy sat as well.

Heather shrugged and before they knew it half an hour had gone by and they were all still watching the movie and eating candy, occasionally passing a golf club to the monster for him to eat. "Shouldn't we do something monster?" Ford asked but made no move to stand up.

Stan shook her head and grabbed another handful of candy. "Candy now. Monster later."

Ria walked in from the kitchen and said hello as she walked by. "Oh, hey kids! You're up late" She stopped and stared at the monster for a few seconds, continuing his greeting. "Hey Ms. Pines!"

Everyone gave her a weird before returning to the show. Ford turn back on the camera to finish his video.

. "Well, I guess that's it for Ford's Guide to the Unexplained." He said, shrugging his shoulders. "The next episode will probably be about getting rid of this candy-eating monster."

"Agreed." Everyone said in unison.
