The Fang Gang watched in disbelief Angel undergoing a completely unexpected assault by some crazy stranger tonight when they'd been walking to the Hyperion.
Coming out of a nudie bar, that old guy did a double-take at seeing Angel ahead of the others and then punched him to the ground. Next came a vicious kick to the groin, accompanied by, "That's for what you did to my pumpkin years ago!"
Satisfied, the stranger strutted away.
Gunn had to ask, "Hey, man, why didn't you fight back?"
Angel groaned, "Couldn't! The stench of sweaty feet was too much for me!"
Author's Note: David Boreanaz's first tv speaking credit was on Season 7 of 'Married With Children' back in 1993 as Kelly Bundy's latest boyfriend who cheats on her by going to the movies with another girl. An outraged Kelly gets her daddy to beat him up for that, but Al still evidently holds a grudge against that guy even years later after accidentally meeting him again. As for Al's overwhelming foot odor…taking off his shoes in the 'Route 666' episode made a large bird flying overhead promptly drop dead in front of everyone, so it's quite possible a vampire with their enhanced sense of smell would become too stunned to resist being beaten up by a mere human while also encountering that incredible stink.
