"I feel like I'm naked." Luz grumbled, walking down the stairs from her room. She'd been trying for the last thirty minutes to get on her old clothes; but because of her height increasing, and well— being in a sort of Titan hybrid, she was aggravated to see that her shorts and favorite shirts weren't fitting.
"Well, you kind of are." King giggled, looking up at her. "Welcome to the club." He waddled down to the kitchen, where Eda was cooking up some breakfast.
Luz lifted her nose up into the hair, and wafted in the mouth watering smell. It reminded her of her mother's cooking, and her lips curled into a famished smirk.
"Whatcha cooking Eda?" She hopped down, and looked down at all the food. She saw some questionable things that she wouldn't eat minus her yummy eggs that were the only safe food she could last recall. Not like that ever crossed her hungry mind.
"Oh, just some pricklboggle pie and some boiled frushie." Eda said bluntly, stirring her pot as a small eyeball plopped out and twisted. Luz could've sworn it blinked as it got sucked back into the whirlpool created by Eda's continuously stirring. She sat down, looking at the small plate that was in her hand.
Eda pulled off a few of the best sunny side up eggs she could manage, and rounded herself to meet Luz. Her mouth practically dropped, and so did the plate (almost because Eda would NEVER waste some good food). "Uh…….. Luz?"
"Yesh?" She perked up her head from the deep dish plate, and her mouth was full of pricklboggle legs. As in her mind, it tasted as if a crab and chicken had a kid. A little fishy, but not unbearable.
"Your— how….." Eda blinked, setting down the plate of eggs in her hand. "How are you not…. puking out your intestinal track?" She questioned, hovering over her with a small smile she failed to pull back.
Luz took a moment to realize what she was doing, and quickly swallowed the food before pushing herself out of the seat. She was questioning her life choices real hard right in that moment. "It tastes…. Good." She said, dry swallowing. "it's……good." She repeated, and reality dawned on her.
She could eat food from the Boiling Isles.
Not only that, but her pallet had increased ten-fold in the process.
Eda chuckled, spinning around one of the wooden spoons, and going back to stirring the pot. "I guess that's just flattering now." She smiled. "At least now you can really taste my cooking!" She grinned.
"I guess so…." Luz mumbled for a moment, looking at herself again. "Side effect?" She raised an eyebrow at Eda.
"Most likely." She replied dryly. "I mean, the Titan wasn't human, so…" she shrugged, playing the food down onto the table.
Everything smelt so, so good in Luz's nose. Her eyes closed for a moment as she wafted it in again. She could smell chicken, crap legs, mashed potato's that have some garlic on top. Some chives on the side… oh it smelt and tasted like heaven as she dug in.
Once Luz had finally started to slow down, Amity and Camila barged in, and Hooty went nuts. As Amity practically kicked down the door to make way.
"Luz?!" She yelled out, looking around until she met eyes with her, mid-sentence. "..I forgot to mention the side—"
"She knows." Eda deadpanned, turning over to meet Amity and Camila. Camila was holding a few books (that Amity was most likely holding at one point but needed arm room to kick down the door). And Amity was holding the small Tamagotchi in her off hand.
Amity paused as she watched Luz freeze from embarrassment,"She—"
"Yes." Eda replied.
"But she—"
"Yes."
Camila cleared her throat. "Does it at least take good?"
Luz looked up from her small mouthful of what only looked like blue king crab legs, and swallowed quickly; she couldn't down it all fast enough to reply, as she just violently nodded in agreement.
"Okay…" Camila took a whiff of the smell. It wasn't the most pleasant, but it wasn't unbearable.
Eda, wanting to change the awkward subject, quickly put down her spoon. "So anything yet?"
"No," Camila shook her head. "Lilith is still working on finding anything that could correct Luz's…." She paused. "…condition."
Amity continued off of Camila. "She needs some time to figure out what she needs, since to do any sort of molecular reconstruction is going to take a long time."
There was a collective sigh.
"Wonderful." Luz added, putting down the napkin and setting her plate aside.
"But!" Amity perked up, hoping to keep Luz a little happy. "That means that you can start practicing your magic!"
Luz tilted her head, a little confused. "I already know the glyphs. Are there newer ones I didn't notice?"
"No ya silly!" Eda chuckled, grabbing onto Luz's shoulder for some emotional support. "You still got a little magic in your system from the Titan. So that means……." She trailed off, and Luz picked up on it in a second.
"I can learn real magic. I can do real magic!" She bounced for a moment, a wide grin slipped onto her tanned cheeks. "I can do magic.…" she whispered.
"Then are you ready to go?" Amity said, reaching out a hand to the front door.
Luz cocked her head. "Where?"
"Hexide."
