Review Shoutout
Carriedfall51 – Thanks for the support and I'm happy you have a new story to enjoy and hope I'll live up to your expectations.
As to your questions: As you can see by the end of this chapter you'll know where he's going to be living.
Class 2-S will eventually interact with him. When the time comes.
As for timeline; for now this in the OG Majikoi timeline so for now that's where we are. Eventually I will make a route that moves onto Majikoi S and the A fan disks. So maybe I'll make two separate stories in that regard.
Hope that answered all your concerns. Hope you enjoy!
Prologue – Part 2
Making An Impression
And so once again I find myself in the middle of the fuss and bother of high school; even more so considering in my old life I had just started college! And so seeing all of this again as well the depressing feeling of once again doing exams…
Yeah, you could say I wasn't the happiest camper. And so when I heard the next bell that apparently signified lunch I finally put my head down on the desk and into the nook of my arms.
But just as I do so, I hear a loud commotion going on as I look around to see students crowding around somewhere in the room.
"Hey, listen up everyone! It's about the other transfer student." I hear a loud voice echo. I look over to see it's Kazama Shouichi, or Capt as he's know in the family. "We don't know the student's gender, and everything's a mystery right?"
Oh, this is them making the bets for Chris' identity. And if my memory serves this is also when they started spreading the rumor around that it was a boy. But it was a trick, since they truly didn't know who it was they spread false info to lure more potential buyers.
"Then do you guys want to bet if it's going to be a boy or a girl? I made some betting tickets." Kazama announced. However just as so, the class rep Mayo appeared to scold him.
"Hey, hey!" She comes running over to stop him. "I told you before, but you shouldn't gamble. You have to appreciate the value of money and…" However she was stopped as Gakuto came over and scooped her up.
"Move aside, Class Rep. It's dangerous." Scooping her up he took her away so as to not discourage anyone else.
"Wawawa. Don't pick up your class rep!" She screams as she fruitlessly struggles in Gakuto's arms.
And it's with that I hear many of the students in class begin to sound off their bets. Now personally I have an aversion to betting after I stupidly once bet that MacGregor would beat Mayweather in a boxing match.
I know, I know! Laugh at me all you want, but a guy can dream right? But… since I have very intimate knowledge of what's to come… who's to say I can't make a bit myself?
"That seems to be about everyone… Oh wait, the new guy! Hey, Azai-san want to make a bet for who the new kid's gender might be?" Kazama offers.
"Hmm… I don't know. What'd you say the price and buyout was?" I inquire.
"It's 1,000 yen per ticket and the limit is ten tickets. Your buyout is double that." He answers.
"I see… if that's so… I'll take the limit! 10 for a girl!" I proudly announce getting everyone's attention.
"Whoa! The new kid's pretty confident!" Ikurou Yonpachi, the class pervert says astounded.
"Hmph, then he's just lost a fortune." Suguru, one of the class otaku besides Moro says with slight disdain.
"But to make that big a bet… he's got guts I'll say." Chika said slightly intrigued.
"Waaa… everyone's badly influencing Nagamasa-san…" Mayo said as she started to cry.
"We're not bullying him to do it Mayo, so chin up. I'm sure he just wants to get along." Chika says trying to console her friend.
"Oh, that's a big risk you're taking. You sure that's your final offer?" Kazama says keeping his cool.
"You got it. I just hope you got the money when the time comes." I answer.
"Yeah, yeah I'm a man of my word. If it comes true, you'll get your share!" He says, with a smile on his face. "Besides, I love people who take chances, I think we may get along."
"Thanks." I reply back.
"He seemed pretty confident in that bet of his and to go the limit too. Does he know something we don't? I know me and Capt. spread that rumor around, but Nagamasa wasn't here for that since he arrived after the morning assembly." Yamato reasoned. "I wonder… what makes him so confident?"
As things finally calm down, the door opens as the middle-aged teacher, Usami Kyojin arrives, "Okay, the middle-aged man has arrived. If you're sleepy, just sleep. Okay, let's start."
Usami Kyojin. The classroom teacher for Class 2-S, and he owns a freelance agency in the city. The principal saw potential in him and asked him to teach this class about Future Careers. Useful to some, probably not to others.
"Well, I say freelancer, but I'm really just a handyman. I do anything. This is an interesting job. So, there's going to be a career survey next week." Kyojin explains.
"You're talking too long." Chika complains.
"Get to the point already." Ikurou does the same.
Like I said, useful to some but not all.
Kyojin chuckles, "Well a lot of students will choose the workforce after graduating. I guess I'll talk about mental attitude to working. Here's the problem. While you're at an interview, they ask you this question: Do you want a product that sells? Or do you want to make a product that leaves an impression?"
"What's the correct answer, given that this is an interview? All right, talk it out." And with that he leaves it to the rest of the class to discuss the question.
"A product that sells, of course." I hear Kazuko say confidently.
"Eh? But isn't a product that leaves an impression better?" Chika replies.
"If it leaves an impression, then your next product may sell a lot." Moro adds on.
"But if it leaves an impression wouldn't it sell well because of repeat customers?" Gakuto reminded.
"Yeah, I go again to stores that leave an impression on me." Kumagai says.
"It may be cruel, but it has to sell…" Mayo shared her own opinion.
"Oh, the class rep's an onan-, I mean a realist." Ikurou pointed out.
"If we're to get employed there, we have to be practical and say that it has to sell." Suguru, the otaku replies.
"I think there's a difference depending on what the company sells, but you basically want something that sells." Tadakatsu gave his opinion.
"Naoe, Azai. What do you both think?" Kyojin-sensei asks us. We both share a look and think for a few seconds until Naoe shares his opinion.
"I want a product that sells, but if I have to give my opinion, I want a product that sells and leaves an impression." Yamato says.
"I agree, like Minamoto-san said before it would depend on the kind of business you're being hired for but like Naoe-san said it has to be a product that leaves an impression so that you have repeat business. I suppose the best example would be a restaurant." I added my own piece to the conversation.
"Oh, that's my answer too." Kazama said.
"That's right. Answer the question, and at the same time, tell them what your ideal is. It shows you want to work for the company while also trying to expand their business." Kyojin explains.
"I knew that was the right answer. I thought so." Gakuto tried to sound confident as he smirked knowing before he made the simple answer of just making an impression before.
"Yeah, right." Moro calls him out.
"It may not be the right, but that one's the best for an interview itself." Kyojin says.
"The question only gave two answers, but there's always another way to answer besides just those options." Mayo replies.
"Always be flexible. Make sure it's flexible and strong." Kyojin finishes off.
From there Kyojin continues to give actual examples of things asked in interviews and ends the class afterwards. I have to say having an open discussion like this in class feels like I'm a kid again.
Well I guess that is what I am now…
"There's no homework. So enjoy your school life. Bye." He says as he leaves trying to obviously sound cool… he didn't. I know see why Umeko-sensei doesn't like him like that.
Well after that the rest of the say seem to go by pretty easily, but just before the last period bell rung I was shocked when of all people Kazuko appeared in front of me.
"Hey, hey; Azai-san!" Kazuko called out to me.
"Oh, hey Kazu… I mean Kawakami-san. What is it?" Whew, that was close. I may know who these guys are from my world. But they don't know me like that.
She then titled her head, "Oh, how did you know my first name?" She asked.
Shit, I should've known the dog of the group would have better hearing, "I think I heard it in passing from one of your friends. I'm sorry."
She then laughs at my silly excuse as she sheepishly scratches her nose, "I guess that makes sense. But I came to ask you something?"
"Yeah, what is it?" Just to be able to talk to one of the Kazama family sounds nice.
"Do you know martial arts? I saw you carry that sword on your hip." She asked. Well it kind of came from nowhere but given her mindset it shouldn't be that much of a shock.
"Well, I do know kendo, kenjutsu, and there is the dojo my family runs back home. I also happen to know Judo by chance as well." I explain.
She smiles back brightly, "Then I was right, I could sense you had fighting potential when you came to school."
Geez, hearing that from almost makes me blush; but I wave my hand, "No, no not at all. I'm probably miles behind some of the students here." I mean sure, I practiced back home in the real world. But this was the world of Majikoi, where people could use Ki to shoot energy attacks for crying out loud.
And don't get me started with that whole Hiragumo stuff with Tsubame…
"Then that does it. Sensei! I'd like to greet the new student…" Kazuko then reached out into her pocket and thew down a school badge on my desk. "The old fashioned way!"
Kazuko's challenge caused yet another commotion in the classroom.
"Oh, Kazuko's challenging him?" One said.
"Is he really that strong for Kazuko-san to want to fight him?" Another said.
Oh no… no, no, no, no… This is exactly what I didn't want to have happen! Why me!?
Kojima-sensei was already in the classroom when she heard the challenge, "Hmm, are you sure about this Kazuko. Azai-san doesn't look feeble, but are you sure you duel him?"
"D-Duel?" I uttered. Wait? "W-wait a second!"
However Kazuko interrupted me, "You're wrong sensei, I can tell this guy has some real fight in him! Nagamasa-san, I challenge you to a duel!"
Everyone waited with bated breath as they all looked to me for my reply. If I said no, I'd probably be ridiculed in some way as a coward for avoiding a fight at a school also dedicated to martial arts, but for some reason… in the pit of my stomach I don't want to look like a coward.
While I do doubt my ability to beat Kazuko who's been training for years alongside Momoyo, I do at least have my pride. The one thing my Dad told me to hang on to as a warrior in our family style…
"Fine then, I'll accept!"
"He agreed." Someone said shocked.
"Then we'll do it with our weapons! Let's head for the courtyard." Kazuko said with a pumped up smile.
"I've already contacted the principal, and he's given his go-ahead." Kojima-sensei said hanging up the phone at her desk.
"Really Tesshin of all people is allowing this?" I said to myself surprised.
Then an announcement rang out as me and Kazuko headed out to the field, "A duel with commence shortly in the schoolyard between students Kawakami Kazuko and Azai Nagamasa of Class 2-F. Any who wish to watch, head for the schoolyard."
Me and Kazuko were already in the schoolyard duel grounds waiting as other students arrived on the sidelines to watch this spectacle. Knowing Class 2-F they were probably already betting on the odds of this fight.
With me as the underdog, I'm sure I'll probably get some sympathy bets. But with Kazuko, the trained martial arts fight I'm sure other are betting her way. Either I'll put up a decent fight or this'll be an embarrassingly short one.
The principal himself, Kawakami Tesshin appeared between the two of us as Kazuko had her trademark naginata in her hands, while I had drawn my family's katana and waited patiently.
"It's a duel!"
"Kick his butt Kazuko!"
"Azaicchi, you can do it!" Wait, that nickname tell was that Chika?
The crowd cheered for the both of us, but I could tell the crowd was on Kazuko's side. It was a good feeling, but all these people gave me a few butterflies. I had never been in a real match like this. A few training spars, but this was not that.
"Come forward fighters, and introduce yourselves," the old man said.
Kazuko stepped up and boldly proclaimed, "From Class 2-F, Kawakami Kazuko." She finished with a spin of her naginata as she slammed the butt of it on the ground.
It was now my turn, "Also from Class 2-F, Azai Nagamasa!"
"Azai-kun, please be careful." I could pick out the caring voice of Mayo, her resident 'big sister' personality I could hear in her voice.
"Show us what you got, bro!" I heard Kazama cheer. Even though he's friend is up here fighting me he still tries to fair, what a nice guy.
"You have my permission to fight with all you have. I will not interfere with your duel until it has been decided. But you may not attack your opponent after the battle has been decided. Understood?"
"Understood!" We both replied.
"Get ready…" The principal called out as he raised his hand in the air waiting, watching us both as we both into our stances. Just from looking at her I could tell she'd want to take the offensive.
Then and to what I still had trouble explaining to this day… I felt something… a power rise through me. Something I had never felt until then, it was like in that moment I was sort in a… zone of my own.
I still was conscious, but my body felt different somehow. But my thoughts stopped when I heard Tesshin announce the match, "FIGHT!"
Yamato's POV – A Few Minutes Before
It sure was sudden when Wanko decided to challenge Aza-San to a duel. Now everyone's taking advantage of this sudden duel to make a quick buck.
Cooking club members selling boxed lunches to spectators, and of course there's us betting on the match.
"Ho, ho. What business is going on here suddenly?" The silky voice of my big sis, Momoyo Kawakami. "You better pay up for the space your using. Fufufufu." She says in a mock hustle voice.
"Now, now Nee-san. It's just that Wanko challenged a new transfer student we got." I said.
"Oh, the one from Germany?" She asked.
"No actually this is a guy from America but he has Japanese parents." I explained.
"Ho, and for Wanko to challenge him… he might have some potential then… Fine then, I was going to be upset that it's just a guy but now my curiosity is piqued." Momoyo says.
Momoyo looks towards the duel grounds and notices Nagamasa. She looks over him; his blonde hair, toned athletic body and the katana on his hip… even she had to admit he was handsome… somewhat.
"His blonde hair surprisingly makes him look innocent. Almost like I want to bully him…" Momoyo gushes slightly.
"Nee-san?"
"Oh, but my bullying is exclusively for you, lil bro." Momoyo clarifies.
"Great to know I'm a punching bag…" I said dejectedly. But surprisingly Nee-san seems quite observant of Nagamasa, she still hasn't taken her eyes off him.
"It's a duel!"
"Kick his butt Kazuko!"
"Azaicchi, you can do it!" Wait, that nickname tell was that Chika?
The crowd cheered for both of our classmates, but the crowd was obviously more on Kazuko's side.
"Come forward fighters, and introduce yourselves," Old man Tesshin said.
Kazuko stepped up and boldly proclaimed, "From Class 2-F, Kawakami Kazuko." She finished with a spin of her naginata as she slammed the butt of it on the ground.
Nagamasa removed his blade from it's scabbard as he announced himself, "Also from Class 2-F, Azai Nagamasa!"
"Azai-kun, please be careful." I could pick out the caring voice of Mayo, her resident 'big sister' personality we could hear in her voice.
"Show us what you got, bro!" I heard Cap cheer. Even though he knows out friend is up here fighting he still tries to be fair, nice guy to the end.
"You have my permission to fight with all you have. I will not interfere with your duel until it has been decided. But you may not attack your opponent after the battle has been decided. Understood?"
"Understood!" Both of them replied.
"Get ready…" The principal called out as he raised his hand in the air waiting as he looked between both of them, "FIGHT!"
"Here I come!" Nagamasa said as he charged katana in hand.
"Haaaa!" Wanko did the same as the two drew closer however she began swinging her katana. "I won't let you get close!"
"No need!" Nagamasa replies as he calmly parries naginata's blade away almost as if sliding it. Even so Wanko continues her attack.
"Oh, it's finally started lil bro." Nee-san puts her arm around my shoulder as she watches her sister battle.
"Can you tell me more about the fight?" I asked her now that it's started maybe she has a feel for this new guy. However even as I talk, my hear jumps with Nee-san so close. She's always been intimate with those close to her.
"Hmm. Wanko's attacks are too monotonous." Nee-san starts.
"Your arm… is mine!" Wanko goes in for another swing as she comes in for a downward swing towards Nagamasa's sword arm.
"Fuh!" However, Nagamasa is not only able to dodge but redirects the attack by holding down Kazuko's arm. But Kazuko escapes the grab by twisting around as delivers a kick knocking him away from her.
"Hehe, you got some moves Nagamasa…" Kazuko said with a chuckle. "But you'll need more than that to beat me!"
"Gladly… come at me." Nagamasa said as he readied himself and charged. This time it was Nagamasa on the offense as he slashed repeatedly at Wanko who continued to use her length to keep him away.
A few sparks could be seen as the blades of their weapons collided from time to time. Eventually when Wanko attempted to counterattack she was shocked when Nagamasa had enough strength to push her back using the naginata to slide to a stop.
"Fufu, I can see it in the transfer student's eyes, he used to Wanko's range now. Now he's really going to start his attack."
Just as Nee-san finishes, Nagamasa once again charges at Wanko and much more faster than before, "Haa!"
Just as Wanko recovers she rolls from Nagamasa's slash; "I-It's fast!" She steps back to ready herself again.
The crowd falls silent at Nagamasa's surprising speed.
"That's amazing! They're both going at it!" Kazama cheers.
"That's kids sword is fast, nearly as fast as Wanko is…" Gakuto pointed out.
"The speed of his cuts is efficient. He doesn't waste one movement even if it's a miss. IF he does have a family style it must prioritize saving one's energy." Miyako analyzes Nagamasa's bladework. "Wanko if he gets one good hit, you'll lose."
"Yeah, Miyako's right. I can see elements of Yagyu-Shinkage in his form. His attention to detail is almost like a fencer's." Nee-san explains.
"I can see your attacks now, this match is mine." Nagamasa announced.
"Bring it on, then! Haaaaa!" Wanko begins to circle her naginata at full speed. With such speed, it's hard to tell where the attack will come from.
"Looks like Wanko wants to end this too." Miyako says.
"Here it comes…" Nagamasa seemingly stands unfazed by Kazuko's movements as he seems to calmly stand there and wait.
"I know this is same move that Wanko used on Chris, I'm not as graceful as her but if I time this just right… maybe…" Nagamasa said to himself.
"I know he's probably going to dodge my attack. Hee-hee. Then…" Wanko giggled to herself.
"No, Wanko, That's a mistake." Nee-san said worriedly.
"Huh?" I said confused.
Wanko still circling the naginata finally began her attack, "Kawakami-ryu…" She then swings the naginata over her head and down towards Nagamasa's legs, but… "Yamakuzushi!"
The naginata moves unexpectedly and swings at an angle towards his head. Nagamasa begins to dodge, but then suddenly… begins falling?
"Uuh…?" Nagamasa looks confused until suddenly even Wanko panics in mid-swing as she comes crashing into Nagamasa. The two fall into one another as a small dust storm forms. A few moments later it clears.
"Oi, are they okay?" Moro says worriedly.
"That was a big fall for Wanko, it was almost head first." Gakuto said with a frown.
"Aah…" I looked over to see Miyako… gaping with her mouth slightly open. I turned to see the two as they were… kissing!?
The cloud cleared and everyone looked clear as day as Wanko was on top of Nagamasa just as they had fallen and both their lips were crushed together.
(Back to Nagamasa's POV – Seconds Ago)
Oh what was that bus that just hit me? Wait, no… that was Wanko… she fell into me after I had tripped stupidly. Wait a minute… what's this sensation I feel? It feels soft, but tastes like… meat?
I finally open my eyes to see Wanko on top of me as she also opens her eyes, but we then panic as we both see the senation was… our lips smashed together!? We kissed?!
HOW!? HOW!? How did this cliché happen!?
This is embarrassing! I try to get up but Kazuko seems to beat me to it as she steps back and wipes her mouth.
"K-K-Ki…" She says stuttering.
"Eh?" I say confused.
"Y-You kissed me!?" She accuses angrily.
"No, no, no, no, no! That was an accident, we fell on top of each other, that wasn't on purpose!" I say trying to defend myself. Oh my gosh, why is this happening?!
The crowd goes up in a storm.
"What!?"
"H-He kissed Wanko. That jerk!"
Oh great…
"Umm… Nee-san, what just happened?" Yamato said confused at the scene that just occurred.
"Fufufu, looks like those two had a spill and had their first kiss rolling around in the dirt ~ Aah, the perfect place for young love between two martial artists! ~" Looked like Momoyo was taking the piss out of this event.
"But seriously, it looks like Nagamasa was trying to dodge, but he got tripped up and when Kazuko came down for her attack well… the ending tells the last of the story." She said with a smirk.
"N-Now I really want to beat you! This is for taking my first kiss!" Kazuko says with a vengeance.
"W-w-wait a minute, I already told you…" However Nagamasa couldn't finish as Kazuko once again charges me.
"No more talking!" She says forcing me to dodge her quick strikes. But now her anger clouded her judgement.
W-what was this new feeling…? I can see them… I slowly dodge one of Wanko's strikes, and then parrying the blow I went on the offensive.
What was this new feeling. I could feel this… energy flowing through me. It was different from before the duel started. This one was much more cooler, almost like a fair pool in the middle of summer.
"Aah…" Wanko is taken off-guard by my new offensive. Blocking he downward strike, I then guard against her attempt to use the butt of her naginata to attack from below.
Twisting around, I thrust, forcing her back. I then keep up the attack as I slash upwards and with another quick turn slash again this time Kazuko is unable to keep up as her naginata is knocked from her hands and she falls backwards.
Pointing my katana towards her as she attempts to reach for her naginata she stops and looks up at me, "Too bad. Do you give?"
I move it closer as she seems to reach out again, but it seems some pain from her shoulder flares up. She doesn't speak, but looks down as she seems to stop resisting.
"Guuuuh…" Wanko holds her shoulder. I then help her up without messing with her injured shoulder. I can still hear her groan in pain and frustration as she does so.
"That's it! Winner, Nagamasa!" Tesshin announces.
Despite the drama from before, the crowd cheers once more.
"Wow, that was amazing! That an awesome fight!" Someone in the crowd cheers.
"I could barely see it happen, but it must've been amazing!" Another cheers.
"Wanko… lost…" Chika says sadly. "Wait, this happens all the time." But changes after remembering all of Wanko's other shenanigans.
"She keeps picking fights and losing," Mayo points out.
The Kazama family all seem surprised too. Momoyo points out, "You're were too in the moment. You should trust your instincts more."
"Wow, she's holding her shoulder. Did she maybe hit her collarbone with that fall?" Gakuto points out and asks.
The t=others see Wanko painfully hold her shoulder where she got hit and fell, "This isn't the time to be calm and watch. Are you alright?"
"Hm. Her bones seem to be fine, but I'm sure she'll have a few bruises" Tesshin pointed out.
"Whew, that's good to hear." I said. Then Wanko came up to me and began chuckling?
"Fu… Fufufufu… Fufufufu…" she continued to chuckle.
"Are you okay? Is 'fu' all you can say now?" Yamato sarcastically asks.
"Be quiet! This is really interesting now, Nagamasa! Time for me to get serious now!" Kazuko declares.
Wanko then takesw off her training bands as they fall to the ground with a thud.
"What…? How heavy are those wristbands?" An audience member asks in shock.
"Well, here comes the second round!" She declares.
"Idiot! The match is already over!" *Chop*
The principal, her adoptive grandfather chops her on the head to punish her.
"Ouch! Why did you do that, Gramps?" Kazuko whined.
"You lost because you got angry and underestimated your opponent." He explained.
"I just didn't want to really inure him was all." She said as an excuse. "I didn't know there was no need to show him mercy… Grrr!" She growled at the end in frustration.
"Sure, there was that… incident. But even so it was an accident and was not done on purpose. You lost because you let that anger cloud your judgement and he used that against you."
"Ahahaha… kuuuh… That was embarrassing…" She whines slightly he eyes with slight tears.
"How many times do I have to say it, I didn't mean for that to happen!" I said seeing her cry.
"Oh, I-I know… I'm sorry for overreacting like that. But Nagamasa, don't think you 've with just this!" Kazuko said confidently.
"…Anyway, leaving that aside. You're really strong… We welcome you to Kawakami Academy!" She said with heart.
"Ah… thank you." I said.
"Ho ho, got to say the old man's good if he let this fight go down." Momoyo said with a smile.
"What do you mean Nee-san?" Yamato asked her.
"Overall, that Nagamasa kid is pretty weak. Even though he won, it really was because he exploited Wanko's weaknesses. But if anything, he's got a lot of potential around him. Who knows… maybe the old man's looking for a new apprentice." Momoyo explained.
"R-Really? He has that much potential…?" Yamato said in shock.
"Well maybe potential just short of the old man's… but he'd never reach me." She said proudly.
Yamato couldn't help but look back at Nagamasa who was talking to the headmaster. If this guy could be that good, he had to make him a contact for sure, he'd be a great help.
"Now with that business out of the way. Azai-san, can you see me in my office for something very quickly?" Tesshin said to me.
"Um… of course sir."
"It shouldn't take long. It's just some important things we need to discuss regarding your stay here." Tesshin explains.
"Oh um, right." I say with that I follow him to his office. When we get there I'm shocked to see it's just like any other principal's desk at a school. I half-expected a traditional Japanese room.
"Oh, were you expecting something more… original?" He inquires.
Wait, can he read minds?
"And now you're probably wondering if I can read your mind? But that's impossible, not even with Ki can one read a human being's mind. Hahahaha!" He laughs heartily for his age.
"Now then, Nagamasa this has to do with your living arrangements." Tesshin begins.
Oh crap, yeah! I never even figured out anything about that. All I really did wa come to school, but I don't know where I live in this huge city!
"Now then, Nagamasa-san, your parents had you transfer from America correct?" He asked me.
"Oh um, yes sir."
"As you know our Academy actually has a dorm system for students so they can be accommodated and live relatively close to campus. We give our students much freedom in their learning here and that also means outside freedom as well. That being said, your sudden appearance has left us little time to get you a proper dorm space. But that's not all…"
"W-what else, Kawakami-sensei?"
"Tell me Nagamasa, what is our whole history with martial arts?" He inquires of me. I then began to explain to him about my family's dojo and style of swordplay along with all my other marital art experiences.
"I see, I see… Now then the next thing I wanted to ask you about is the living arrangements that your parents made for you." Tesshin said.
Wait, what? My parents are in this world? Just not here with me? Is it like with Yamato's parents; where there still in America?
"You see actually, me and your father go far back and when you were bring transferred here we discussed at length your potential for martial arts. Young man, you have a latent drive that is similar to my own granddaughter's, and your duel with Kazuko proved that to me." Tesshin continued.
"I …see…" I say quite surprised. Same potential as Momoyo? I men sure, I have some skill but I do have to admit after that "kiss" with Wanko I felt more… powerful just by a little.
"For years, I have looked for someone with the potential of humbling my granddaughter. But never once did I think I would train someone for such a task."
Wait, again what? Train me? To beat Momoyo? Is this really happening?
"And so we came to this proposition. If you train at Kawakami Temple, I'll be able to provide you room and board."
And in that moment, I knew this was when my story in Majikoi officially began…
