Paw Patrol X
New Recruits arc Episode four: Dragons, Both Peaceful And Reckless
The Paw Patrol lookout was shown as we then saw Flare and Snow outside, and it looked as if the two of them were sparring. Snow had been successfully dodging all of Flare's punches and kicks fluidly, and she seemed to be having fun with it, even laughing a bit when he lunged at her for one attack, only to almost fall on his face. "Remind me; how was groping me gonna help you?"
"I don't know what that means!" Flare announced as he charged at Snow, aiming a jumping kick at her, which she swiftly dodged and grabbed his foot afterwards, throwing her at the lookout and causing him to crash against the wall. It didn't hurt all that much, even when Flare slid to the bottom of the lookout. He instead started laughing with Snow walking up to her and offered him a helping paw, which he accepted as he spoke up. "I hope I can fight like that someday."
Snow couldn't help but take a liking to Flare's positive attitude. Flare had been living with the Paw Patrol for a week now, and she's warmed up to his seemingly endless optimism rather quickly. There was just something about Flare that sparked with her. If he wasn't so naive, he wouldn't have anything to worry about. She decided to continue this conversation and reached down to her weapons belt, holding out her gun for Flare to see. "Do you see yourself wielding one of these when you eventually become a member?"
Flare got a good look at the gun and wasn't quite sure what to make of it when it came to how well he'd hold one. One thing he knew about guns is that if you shoot your target with one, it's nothing to scoff at. "Not sure. Hopefully Ryder has some weapon training segments that'll help me with that."
"Oh, he definitely will." Flare and Snow looked to see Rocky, who'd just come outside and was shown to be preparing for something as he put on some kind of goggles. "He'll be making sure you're ready for every weapon possible, both in using the weapons, and in defending against them." Flare pumped his fist after hearing that and hi fixed Snow, who Rocky then turned his attention towards for an upcoming mission. "Cmon Snow. Ryder finally approved my request to head off to the Dragon Lands (Flare's face beams) for research and we have to get ready."
Snow was heading off as Flare then walked beside her to ask about these 'Dragon Lands'. Marshall had read him plenty of books about dragons before bed, but he was starting to get excited at the thought of dragons being real. "Are there actual dragons in Adventure Bay!?"
"Not exactly." Snow admitted, giving Flare some details as to where they actually were. "See, there's this place that's about ten miles away from Adventure Bay, that has dragons inhabiting it. We're heading on over there to learn more about where they live, and what they're like." Flare instantly gained an even more excited look with his face beaming brightly. Snow then gave a deadpan smile and knew exactly what Flare was going to say. "Judging by that look, I'd say I know what's coming next."
Fire blazed over the screen as moments from the season one were shown and rock music started playing and the one who was playing the guitar started singing Help The World. The first scene that was shown involved Flare watching Chase and Marshall in action during the fire. "There's a team of dogs who never back down from any danger." The scene then changed to Richie shooting at Charm's minions to disarm them, killing one who gets too close to a human. "Their mission is to help people, no matter how minor or major."
The scene then changed to Ryder standing tall as he leads some of the members through what looks like a forest they were sent to for a mission. "The leader Ryder takes these dogs in so they can help in any way they can." The scene then changed to Flare putting the daisy in his flower, just like he did in the third part of the pilot. "A means to prove yourself, or saving them from a bad life, it's all part of his plan!"
Chase comes on screen and is shown bragging proudly about himself as he arrested someone."Chase!" A two second riff played before showing Skye performing a triple backflip and barking to turn on her wings and fly up. "Skye!" A two second riff played before showing Zuma surfing and looking to see if the others were watching him. "Zuma!" A two second riff played before showing Rocky inventing some kind of defense weapon while paying the maximum attention to every detail. "Rocky!" A two second riff played before showing Snow snatching a gun from one of Charm's soldiers as soon as they aim it at her and aiming it back at theim. "Snow!"
A two second riff played before showing Marshall climbing up a ladder to save someone as he breathed to himself while trying desperately to keep his cool. "Marshall!"
"My, bro-ther!"
Flare was then shown to be training in the Paw Patrol lair as he blocked a robot's kicks and punches before kicking his head off. "I may not be a member but I'll be useful however I can!" The scene then changed to Flare holding Snow's paw as the two of them are seemingly running away from something dangerous. "Even if it's a side mission I'll help the world as long as I stand!" The scene then changed to Flare meeting Charm as the Golden Retriever walks over to him with a cold glare and menacing scowl, making Flare back away slowly. "The Paw Patrol is on a roll, no matter how badly the danger's swirled!"
The scene then changed to Flare standing with the Paw Patrol, as Marshall rubs Flare's head, Snow smiles to Flare, Rocky blushes when Zuma gives him a sly grin, Chase gives a wink to Skye, who giggles about the gesture, Richie puts his guns away and looks on with determination, and Ryder crosses his arms and gives a confident smile. "My brother is a member of their team now...(The riff continues for three seconds uninterrupted) and I'm always ready to (Flare gives a cheerful smile and gives a peace sign to the audience with his eyes closed and his eyes giving a teeth smile) help the world."
The riff continued for about five more seconds before slowing down and giving one final riff with the title Paw Patrol X being shown on screen with Paw Patrol in white and the X in red. As soon as the riff slowed down, Flare was shown hanging up a picture that showed exactly what everyone was doing before the song ended, revealing it to have been a group photo.
Rocky and Snow were preparing for the trip as Flare was currently trying to get permission to go with them to the dragon lands. "Please let me come Rocky! It'd be so cool to finally see dragons in real life!"
"This isn't a vacation Flare." Rocky pointed out as he finished putting stuff in the trunk of his truck and gave him his attention, being serious about this mission and not screwing it up. "We're going there to research the dragons and their behaviors. It's supposed to see how they align themselves."
"I don't care about WHY we're going, I just wanna see dragons." Flare admitted, hoping that he could convince Rocky to let him go. "Besides; if you do take me then I could meet some of the dragon kids and see how THEY behave."
Rocky was glad to see that Flare was actually trying to earn his spot to come through listing actual reasons, but he did prepare for the one he just gave as he gave a grin in response to it. "That's why I'm taking Snow with me."
"Yeah, good luck with that." Snow snarked as she turned on the radio, trying to find a station she liked as Flare continued his persuasion.
"If you knew how many times I've heard about dragons in stories and have grown to love them then you'll know why I'm excited for this Rocky!" Flare explained, and Rocky was starting to get annoyed by what was starting to turn into whining as Flare then gave a puppy dog eyed, hopeful smile, please face. "Pleeeeeease let me come with you!"
Rocky turned to Flare in an attempt to insist that he stay at the Lookout "Look Flare, I-", only to be inturrupted by his please face. As a ray of sunshine and adorableness surrounding him as Rocky tried to reisest, but ended up unsuccessful and sighed as he gave in. "Alright, fine. I'll ask Ryder if you can come with me. (Flare starts cheering) But you have to make sure Marshall's okay with you coming too."
"Done!"
Flare rushed off to find Marshall and was beaming with excitement as Rocky sighed and got into his truck, leaving Snow to joke about how he gave into Flare's please face. "Ya know it's on you if this comes back to bite us."
"Shut up Snow." Rocky deadpanned, leaving Snow to shrug as she finally found a station she liked and started rocking out to it, leaving Rocky questioning what he got himself into. 'Maybe I should just gone alone and tried to do everything myself.'
Rocky's truck was shown to be leaving Adventure Bay as Flare continued to show excitement and giddiness towards the idea of meeting real life dragons. Rocky took notice to this and was starintg to worry about bringing Flare along, but Snow couldn't help but have some fun with this, moving to the back with Flare to talk to him about it. Rocky then saw this as an excuse to change the station, moving it to slow guitar music as Snow started talking to Flare. "So you really didn't know dragons were real until today?"
"I don't think anyone on Twin Flame Island did." Flare admitted, being beyond psyched to see what dragons were actually like. He'd hoped that some of them were like the ones he heard in his stories. "I hope there's one like the main character in my favorte dragon story 'A Dragon's Fable', where he starts off as someone who wants to help people however he can, and so he works his butt off and eventually gets good enough to make it happen, (clenches his fist) punching evil's face with all the courage he can (Punches ahead) muster!"
Snow snickered a bit at a connection she just made and couldn't help but comment on it. "I think I can take a guess as to why you like that story."
Rocky liked the site of Flare and Snow bonding, despite still being skeptical about Flare coming on this trip. He was glad Snow finally had someone her age to talk to. Yeah the Paw Patrol all consisted of dogs who were still kids working to protect people the best they could, but none of them were really the exact age of Snow, someone she could really connect with. And Rocky knew this despite being the closest to Snow out of the long running members. That said, he was quick to remind Flare of their mission. "Just remember Flare, this is a research mission, not your new playground."
"Yeah, yeah; I know." Flare responded, and then he caught notice of the music and hoped Rocky wouldn't mind turning it up. "I'm liking that tune. Mind turning it up?" Rocky happily turned it up with Flare nodding his head to the beat of the music, leaving Snow to smile at how upbeat he was. She always could appreciate those who took the time to let the slow moments play out while still knowing how to have lots of fun.
Fifteen minutes after leaving Adventure Bay...
Flare, Snow, and Rocky were still driving with a sign saying 'You are now entering Dragon's Hamlet', and Rocky was quick to inform Flare and Snow, knowing that the sign meant they were at their destination. "Hey guys, we're here!" Flare and Snow looked out of Flare's window and saw Dragon's Hamlet in full swing, and as it expanded, it was shown to be a big village where lots of dragons resided, full of playing children, working adults, and even family's relaxing in the park like normal people. Flare only had one word to say as he gazed in amazement and spoke quietly.
"Wow."
Rocky drove up to Dragon's Hamlet, parking somewhere close to the entrance of town and making sure it wasn't where anyone could be hurt. Some of the residents of the town took notice to Flare, Snow, and Rocky exiting the truck with Flare looking around in amazement at what he was seeing. One young dragon, who looked to be Flare and Snow's age while sporting yellow skin walked over to them, also seeming amazed by what he saw. Flare couldn't help but walk over to the dragon as he made sure to keep his cool when waving to him happily. "Hi."
The dragon walked over to Flare and sniffed him, making him laugh as the dragon then spoke up, revealing himself to be a male as he spoke withthe same amount of excitement as Flare. "Dogs are real!?"
"I didn't know DRAGONS were real!" Flare exclaimed, still being stoked to find out that dragons were real, and then the dragon took notice to something. Flare looked back to see what it was and it was shown to be Snow starting her notes, leaving Flare to explain what it was. "Oh yeah. My friends Snow and Rocky came to do some research on what dragons were like, how they acted and how they lived and all that. I had to do my please face just to get them to let ME come."
"Oh, cool. Maybe I can help!" The dragon replied excitedly, signalling the two pups to follow him as he ran off. "Come on!"
Rocky took notice to Flare and Snow heading off with their new friend and called out to them to make sure they were close. "Don't go too far from the village you two!" Flare and Snow gave Rocky a thumbs up with Rocky taking out his pup pad as he got ready to do some research of his own, just as a vicious looking grown red dragon was shown scowling down at him from a roof that looked exceptionally stable. "Okay. Where to start?" The dragon then looked to where Flare and Snow were, glaring in their direction as they ran off with the yellow dragon.
Flare, Snow, and the yellow dragon arrived at what looked like the park of Dragon Hamlet, and the dragon guided them over to some telescopes that were already set up for them. "This is the perfect way to start getting an idea on what dragons are about. Mostly because you get to see them fly." Flare instantly started looking into the telescope and got a look at the dragons who were currently in the sky. There were at least half a dozen dragons up there flying around, and a couple were even doing flight tricks. Flare saw a blue one do a triple spin backflip, which made him gaze in awe.
As Flare continued to look at the dragons, Snow realized she and Flare didn't get the chance to properly introduce themselves. "Oh, we never gave you our names, did we. I'm Snow."
"And I'm Flare!" Flare spoke up as he held out his paw, and then he happily shook the dragon's paw, even shaking him a little as he did it.
The dragon laughed a bit as he then introduced himself, glad to see that this was going so well. "It's great to meet you two. I'm Sunshine."
"I bet that's because your skin is the color of the sun." Flare suggested, and Sunshine nodded his head yes before seeing someone behind Flare who made him a little nervous. Flare became confused when seeing this, and then he turned around to see a grown up female yellow skinned dragon standing behind him. She gave a stern, but not harsh, look down to him, but he seemed unfazed by it, while Snow tried to keep herself from making a wrong move as Flare happily held his paw out. "Hi!"
Snow flinched by Flare's sudden action, not sure if just casually introducing yourself to someone who was almost glaring at you was such a good call. The dragon inspected Flare and after a few seconds, she thankfully realized that he wasn't a threat and accepted his paw shake. She remained skeptical, but she decided to let Flare, and Snow, stay for now. "I see you two have gotten well acquainted Sunshine. I'm his mother, Light-Ray."
Snow stepped forward and explained what she and Flare were doing in the village, hoping Light-Ray would understand. "You heard of the Paw Patrol?" Light-Ray instantly gazed at Snow when she mentioned the Paw Patrol, knowing what they were all about as Snow then continued. She hoped the team she was on would give a positive impact rather than a negative one. "Our leader sent me and another member to research dragons to see how they functioned. Flare's not the other member; he just managed to convince our friend to let him come."
Flare giggled at the mention of how he came with Light-Ray seeing no reason to get violent at the moment. All she could see were two young puppies who were in Dragon Hamlet for business, or for seeing dragons. "You two can play with my son if you wish. Just don't get him hurt. (Glares at Flare and Snow) Got it?"
"Got it! ma'am" Flare and Snow said in sync with Flare giving a smiling salute and Snow giving a nervous smile with Light-Ray nodding and taking their word for it. She took their word for it and as Flare and Snow got a look around the park after that, they saw that the dragons worked a lot like how humans and dogs worked. They were all relaxing and having a good time with those they cared about, and the kids were playing innocently as if they had no worries in the world. As Snow took notes of this happily, Flare beamed as he looked at Sunshine to see if there was any more cool stuff to do. "What other awesome stuff do you have for us to do here?"
Sunshine was extremely happy to see Flare's interest in dragons staying strong, being excited for what he had to show him next. "You bet I do!" Flare and Sunshine ran off with Flare grabbing onto Snow, making sure that her pup pad still worked as she ran off with them as the three of them headed to where Sunshine was headed next. The red dragon looked down at them and glared to Flare and Snow, clearly not trusting dogs. As he scoffed, he flew on ahead to see if they were going where he hoped so he could deal with them.
The red dragon landed in front of some kind of cave and hid in the shadows, looking out of it to find Flare, Snow, and Sunshine coming his way. He was delighted to see this, as it meant his plan for the puppies could commence. "You got this Raptor. Just keep quiet until the right moment." Raptor went deeper into the cave, ready to execute his plan while also making sure he wasn't noticed.
Sunshine guided Flare and Snow to the cave and was excited to see what he could find with them in there. "This is a cave I go into all the time and there's always something cool waiting for me in there. This could be great for your guys' research on us."
"Ah, heck yeah!" Flare exclaimed, excited to see what he could find in that cave. Snow on the other hand, was skeptical, as the cave could have something dangerous inside of it, and knew that they should be careful when going in. "Let's do this!"
"Hang on Flare." Snow, sensing danger, stopped Flare as he was about to rush in, not wanting him to get hurt in there. "We don't know what's in here. And Rocky said to stay by the village."
Flare saw that Snow was worried and thought about what she said before looking to where the village was, finding that they weren't too far away from it. He hoped that would make Snow feel better about this, "The village looks like it's still in view." Snow looked and found that Flare was right. "And Sunshine goes in here all the time and it doesn't look like he ever got hurt by it."
"Well there was this one time I got scraped on a rock, but I managed to deal with that no problem." Sunshine explained, and Snow saw that Flare was still excited about entering the cave. If there was one thing that worried Snow about Flare, it was his tendancy to rush into things without thinking first. Sunshine entered the cave and looked back to Flare and Snow in the hopes that they would come with him. "Don't worry; I can guide the way!"
Flare excitedly rushed into the cave with Snow trying to signal him not to, but eventually went in herself after sighing. She saw Flare's points about still having the village in sight and Sunshine having been in the cave before, but she still had worry about what was in there. She could only hope that things went well in there. "Here's hoping no one dies in here."
Flare and Snow started following Sunshine, who was talking about the cave and all the wonders it held for him. While Snow still had her worries, she saw how optimistic Flare was about this going well and decided to try and match that. After all, he did have a point about Sunshine using this cave often. And it wasn't TOO dark for them to see, so they could easily run back to the entrance if they spotted danger. That said, she still felt it would help to ask questions to make absolute sure Sunshine knew what he was doing. "So Sunshine. How often exactly do you go into this cave?"
"At least once a week." Sunshine explained, being excited for what he would find during this trip. "Sometimes I even find gems in here to give to the town's merchant. Well...one gem to give to the merchant. But it's still cool when I find one."
Flare started looking around and saw what looked like a slide, walking over to it as he brought it to the others attention. "Have you ever gone down here before?" Sunshine and Snow went over to the slide Flare pointed out, and even Sunshine had to admit that he wasn't sure what was down there. Flare was impressed by how far down it looked. "Wow. Whoever made this must've had a lot of free time."
"Maybe too much free time." Snow suggested with concern for Flare and Sunshine, not wanting either of them to get hurt, especially not Flare. "It could be a trap."
Sunshine looked down the slide and became curious as to what could be down there. "I've actually never been down there before. Maybe there are some gems that I missed."
Flare saw that Snow was worried and hoped that reminding her of her skills could help, just as Sunshine noticed something lurking on the roof. "You said you were training with the Paw Patrol for a year, right? I'm sure they had you prepare for all kinds of stuff." Snow still looked worried, and then Flare smiled to reassure her that things would work out. "If I wasn't confident in your skills, I would've backed out of this. Plus that slide could be super fun to go down."
Snow sighed in response to what Flare was saying, as he knew that he wasn't trying to manipulate or use her, but rather he overestimated just how skilled she was. Yes she'd been trained by the Paw Patrol for a year before joining, but she hadn't even been an official member for a month. She figured it was best to at least get some outside help before doing this. "At least let me call Rocky so he knows where to find us if-"
Just then, Snow gets kicked down the slide, only for Flare to grab onto her paw as his instincts kicked in "Snow!", leaving Flare to pull Snow back up almost instantly as Raptor from before stood before them while Flare checked to see if Snow was okay. "Snow, are you alright?"
"You won't be when I'm through with you." Flare and Snow looked to find Raptor standing before them, and he gave a vicious glare before kicking them down the slide before they could react. Sunshine tried to fight back, but got thrown to the side by Raptor before he flew down, and Flare and Snow were then shown sliding down as they held onto each other while screaming for their lives. As they arrived at the end of the slide, they both ended up being a few feet up, but then as they descended, Snow landed perfectly with Flare stumbling a bit, but managing to keep his balance.
Flare and Snow got a look around and saw all kinds of different animal skeletons, from dog skeletons to cat skeletons, every kind of body except a dragon they could think of was there. Flare seemed a little creeped out by this, but tried to lighten the mood when he saw how disgusted Snow was by bringing up a different possibility. "Hey, don't worry; we can still call Rocky to help us."
"I wouldn't bet on it." Flare and Snow flinched as Raptor stood before them and introduced himself to the two of them. "I'm Raptor, and I'm gonna kill you!"
Rocky was still doing his research in town as he inspected a dragon seemingly cooking by using his fire breath on a pot. This was being demonstrated by an orange dragon, and Rocky was fascinated by what he learned about this fire breath the dragons possess. "Just as I suspected. I knew that fire breath could be use for more than burning stuff."
"Well I have burnt some of my meals in the past." The orange dragon jokingly informed Rocky, who then wrote down 'Cooking skills not always perfect' on his pup pad.
As Rocky was writing this down, he heard Sunshine's voice and looked into his direction. "Flare and Snow's friend!" Rocky turned his attention to Sunshine as he explained the situation. "I think Snow said your name was Rocky! (Rocky nods his head yes) I took them to this cave I always find cool stuff in, and this mean dragon named Raptor kidnapped them and put them what looked like his lair!"
"What!?" Rocky became horrified when he found out about this and couldn't bare the thought of Flare and Snow getting hurt. He kneeled down to Sunshine and observed his behavior to figure out the best approach to this, knowing that he would have to do this right to get the best result. He felt the first step was to assure Sunshine that he wasn't upset with him. "Alright kid, I'm not mad at you. I just need you to help me find my friends." Sunshine nodded in understanding as Rocky then went to the next step after seeing Sunshine calm down a bit. Being thorough. "I need you to take me to this cave."
"Okay. My mom knows about it too; she can come later to deal with Raptor." Sunshine suggested, and Rocky nodded and ran off after Sunshine, letting him lead the way as he put his pup pad away and rushed off to save his friends. Sunshine then took his phone out, which was in the shape of a ruby, and called his mother, knowing she could help. "Mom! Raptor took the friends I made today into his lair, and I just found out that it's in the cave I go into every week! We need your help; fast!"
Flare and Snow were standing before Raptor, who was glaring down at them as he explained what the skulls were about. "You see these skeletons around us?" Flare and Snow look around with each of the skulls being shown in between sentences as Raptor explains why they're down here, but not before Snow turns on her recorder. "These are the friends of past reporters who tried to get information on Dragon's Hamlet. I wasn't about to let them expose us or shut us down for false accusations, so I took care of them. And I plan to do the same to you."
Flare took a step forward as he tried to find if Raptor was just misguided, and he hoped that he could convince him to stop what he was doing. "Did you ever ask WHY they wanted to do research here? Maybe you got the wrong idea and acted too quickly."
Snow admired Flare's bravery in this instance, but she knew his naivety could lead to him saying the wrong thing. She was worried that was what was happening when Raptor flew directly at Flare, who jumped out of the way. "I didn't have to!" Raptor flew above Flare and Snow, diving down at Flare as he shouted again. "They were all the same!" Flare acted quickly though, and jumped up onto Raptor's leg, and then Raptor threw him up to the air as he shouted again. "They all wanted to make us extinct (Flare grabs onto a pointy rock on the ceiling of the cave) for no reason!"
Flare held on tightly to the rock as Raptor flew up to him, attempting to slash him as he barely managed to dodge him. "Now stop moving so I can kill you too!" Snow decided to stop standing there and recording, ending said recording to help Flare, and she had an idea on what to do. She reached down to her weapon belt and pulled out a lasso, aiming it at Raptor and grabbing his foot. Flare took notice of this and felt the rock he was on start to break off, as it was more fragile than the others.
Flare thankfully managed to come up with how to use this to his advantage quickly, and he punched the rock's tip, hurting his paw but managing to break it off. He quickly jumped on top of the part of the rock that fell from the ceiling, but Raptor dodged it just in time. He then mocked Flare and Snow for their attempt at killing him. "Nice try, but it'll take more than that to stop me!" Raptor pulled Snow over to her, but she quickly retracted her lasso and charged at Raptor, jumping over his leg sweep and attempting to kick him in the face, only for Raptor to slam her into the ground.
Snow rolled on her side for a bit, but got back up, not being too badly hurt as Flare jumped onto Raptor's back. Raptor tried to reach Flare as the Dalmatian then punched him in the face after climbing up to his shoulder. This allowed Raptor to grab and throw Flare towards the ground, but Snow thankfully caught him just in time and took her gun out, shooting at Raptor, who used his wings to block the bullets, but ended up falling to the ground as a result. Snow set Flare down and rushed towards Raptor.
Snow dodged Raptor's fire breath with Flare doing the same right after, leaving Snow to dodge Raptor's slash and kick him in the face. She then attempted to shoot him again, only for Raptor to slap her gun away and then land a lying down spin kick on her, which was so powerful that it sent her into the wall. Flare took notice of this and ran towards Snow's gun when he got the chance as Raptor failed to take notice and pinned Snow to the wall before glaring into her eyes as she tried to grab her knife from her weapon belt, but she grabbed her paw before she could stab him. "Any last words brat?"
Flare aimed Snow's gun at Raptor, but couldn't bring himself to pull the trigger, as he froze, knowing that his fire would kill Raptor. He knew that Raptor deserved some kind of punishment for what he did, but Flare had never held a gun before, and he didn't have it in him to kill someone. When he saved Alex, it wasn't as hard; he just jumped in and saved his life. But this time he was in a position where he had to end a life. Even for someone as horrible Raptor, he couldn't bring himself to do it; he almost started tearing up at the thought. Just then however...
BANG!
A gunshot came from Raptor's side and shot him in the right side of his head, causing him to fall to the floor. Flare knew it didn't come from him, and he and Snow looked to find Rocky standing there as he quickly checked to see if his friends were okay. "You guys alright?"
Flare became overjoyed at the sight of Snow being alive and instantly ran over to her. "Snow!" Snow was thankfully not too badly hurt and as she and Flare hugged, Flare instantly started showing remorse for not taking the bullet. "I'm so sorry!" Flare puleld Snow away as Snow took notice to how bad he felt for not taking out Raptor when he had the chance. "I couldn't pull the trigger; it was too much! The thought of killing someone just clouded my brain, and now I just wanna go back in time and-"
Snow put a finger over Flare's mouth and simply smiled to him, knowing that while it was partially his fault they were in this situation, he was put into a situation that he wasn't quite ready for. "You've never held a gun before dude. I froze on my first time too." Flare suddenly felt much calmer as Snow emphasized with his struggle from earlier. He knew he didn't have a good excuse for not saving her, but with Snow forgiving his hesitation so easily, and what happened to lead to that moment, he couldn't really say anything about it. All he could do...is smile. Like he always does.
And that's all Snow wanted in that moment.
Later that evening, Rocky had already gotten plenty of research was driving home with Flare and Snow in the back, having already said goodbye to Sunshine as Snow talked about the aftermath. "I'm glad Sunshine's mom listened to that recording. Now Dragon's Hamlet can avoid having any more monsters like Raptor."
"You said it." Flare replied, and then he thought again about when he hesitated to shoot Raptor. He didn't want that to happen again, but he knew he couldn't just sit around and wait for it to not happen. So he turned to Snow and made a request. "You think you can show me how to use a gun when we get back?"
Snow couldn't be surprised by this request, since she understood why Flare made it. She couldn't help but say yes either, as she was happy to help Flare become ready to join the team. "Of course!"
Flare and Snow hi fived as Flare then turned his attention to Rocky, hoping he got the research he needed. "So did you learn what you wanted to learn about dragons Rocky?"
"Some of it, yeah." Rocky confirmed, having a bunch of notes in his Pup Pad. He then chuckled a bit as he responded to something he knew Flare was gonna ask. "And yes; you can come next time." Flare pumped his fist with excitement and Rocky turned the radio on, allowing the three pups in his truck to let the music kick in as they headed home. And Flare left Dragon's Hamlet with more of the knowledge he needed to help people the best he could: Don't let bad people get away with their crimes.
Soft piano music started playing as the night sky was shown with the scene then descending to the cliff at the edge of the Paw Patrol lookout's standing as Flare walked over to it. Flare then sat down and looked at the stars as he thought about the pups in the Paw Patrol with a female voice singing Risks Worth Taking. He first thought about Snow. "This world has so much in it, that I have yet to see. And I have to be ready for how to act upon it, whatever it may be. (Flare starts thinking about Chase) I've made so many great friends, since I came to Adventure Bay. And when I start to help with missions, that will certainly be my day."
The song continued as Flare started to think about Rocky. "When things get good, and when they get bad, I hope they know that I have their back. There will be times where I make mistakes, but I'll work to get back on track. (Flare starts thinking about Zuma) There's no such thing as a chosen one, or any of that destiny stuff. I have to work to help this world, and that doesn't mean I get all buff."
Flare then started thinking about Skye as the song continued. "If I fall down, I'll just get right back up, and I'll prove to them that I'm a strong pup; and that I won't let the danger I face make me freeze and start shaking." Marshall then came up to Flare as the song continued and sat down next to him and rubbed his head. "And even if there are times when I struggle, I knooow..." Flare then yawned with Marshall smiling as he went back home with him to get him ready for bed. "that there are risks worth taking."
The title Paw Patrol X was shown with Paw Patrol being in all white and the X being in red as the last notes played and the daisy in Flare's right ear is shown laying on the X.
