New Recruits arc Episode eight: Mind Games in Dragon's Hamlet

Flare was currently on his way to Dragon's Hamlet with Snow and Rocky joining him again, and this time Marshall was coming as well. This made Flare even more excited, as he knew Marshall and Sunshine would get alone, and he wanted the chance to introduce the two of them. Marshall could tell how excited he was and rubbed his head playfully; and as the group arrived in Dragon's Hamlet, he excitedly jumped out and started running over to Sunshine. This of course, led to Marshall running after him to make sure he didn't lose sighed of him. "Sunshine!"

Sunshine was playing on some kind of gaming system as he heard Flare's voice and happily paused his game upon that sound. He then beamed when he saw Marshall and ran over to him with glee. "Flare!" Flare and Sunshine hugged each other, being ecstatic to see each other again. Sunshine then saw Marshall and happily greeted him. "Hi; I'm sunshine. (Holds out his claw) You must be Flare's older brother Marshall."

"I sure am." Marshall happily replied as he shook Sunshine's claw, and then he looked at Flare as he spoke up about Sunshine. "You were right Flare. Sunshine is pretty much a dragon version of you. And I can totally see you being a yellow dragon."

Flare smiled happily and laughed in response to that as Snow and Rocky ran over to the others as Rocky pulled out his PupPad. "I can spare some time to play before I continue getting the rest of the dragon research I currently need. This time I'm gonna use my research to discover how dragon kids play with dogs."

"And you just stated you had time to spare." Snow responded with a deadpan smile, and then she looked at Flare and Sunshine with an interest in what they would play first. "What're you guys up for learning about first?"

Flare's stomach then growled with Sunshine looking at Flare, who then gave a cheeky grin as he made a vague suggestion. "I've been holding in a fart since breakfast."

Little did Flare and the others know however, that Charm and Trickery were currently watching them from Dragon Hamlet's local coffee shop. The two of them made sure to keep a low profile, and were dressed as tourists from afar. When Charm saw Flare however, he didn't hesitate to let Trickery know. "Our targets are here Trickery. (Looks at Trickery) Did you bring your cards."

"I did indeed Charm." Trickery took out one of his cards and gleefully showed Charm what looked to be an Jester of Hearts. "I think I'll save my favorite of these cards for last."

Fire blazed over the screen as moments from the season one were shown and rock music started playing and the one who was playing the guitar started singing Help The World. The first scene that was shown involved Flare watching Chase and Marshall in action during the fire. "There's a team of dogs who never back down from any danger." The scene then changed to Richie shooting at Charm's minions to disarm them, killing one who gets too close to a human. "Their mission is to help people, no matter how minor or major."

The scene then changed to Ryder standing tall as he leads some of the members through what looks like a forest they were sent to for a mission. "The leader Ryder takes these dogs in so they can help in any way they can." The scene then changed to Flare putting the daisy in his flower, just like he did in the third part of the pilot. "A means to prove yourself, or saving them from a bad life, it's all part of his plan!"

Chase comes on screen and is shown bragging proudly about himself as he arrested someone."Chase!" A two second riff played before showing Skye performing a triple backflip and barking to turn on her wings and fly up. "Skye!" A two second riff played before showing Zuma surfing and looking to see if the others were watching him. "Zuma!" A two second riff played before showing Rocky inventing some kind of defense weapon while paying the maximum attention to every detail. "Rocky!" A two second riff played before showing Snow snatching a gun from one of Charm's soldiers as soon as they aim it at her and aiming it back at theim. "Snow!"

A two second riff played before showing Marshall climbing up a ladder to save someone as he breathed to himself while trying desperately to keep his cool. "Marshall!"

"My, bro-ther!"

Flare was then shown to be training in the Paw Patrol lair as he blocked a robot's kicks and punches before kicking his head off. "I may not be a member but I'll be useful however I can!" The scene then changed to Flare holding Snow's paw as the two of them are seemingly running away from something dangerous. "Even if it's a side mission I'll help the world as long as I stand!" The scene then changed to Flare meeting Charm as the Golden Retriever walks over to him with a cold glare and menacing scowl, making Flare back away slowly. "The Paw Patrol is on a roll, no matter how badly the danger's swirled!"

The scene then changed to Flare standing with the Paw Patrol, as Marshall rubs Flare's head, Snow smiles to Flare, Rocky blushes when Zuma gives him a sly grin, Chase gives a wink to Skye, who giggles about the gesture, Richie puts his guns away and looks on with determination, and Ryder crosses his arms and gives a confident smile. "My brother is a member of their team now...(The riff continues for three seconds uninterrupted) and I'm always ready to (Flare gives a cheerful smile and gives a peace sign to the audience with his eyes closed and his eyes giving a teeth smile) help the world."

The riff continued for about five more seconds before slowing down and giving one final riff with the title Paw Patrol X being shown on screen with Paw Patrol in white and the X in red. As soon as the riff slowed down, Flare was shown hanging up a picture that showed exactly what everyone was doing before the song ended, revealing it to have been a group photo.

Flare and the others were right outside the village, and they seemed to be near this lake where some of the other dragon kids were playing. Rocky was taking note of this as he then got a good look at what Flare and the others were doing, heading over to it while commenting on the risks of this idea Flare had. "You guys sure this is a good idea? You could get seriously hurt from doing this."

"That's why I'm standing on the side of the flame rather than right in front of it." Flare pointed out, and then he looked to Sunshine and nodded, and after his flame passed Flare's butt...

PHHHHHT

Flare cut a three second fart onto the fire and hit it with a green cloud that had a cheesy egg scent to it. It make the scent of burnt eggs when he was done, and Flare was ecstatic to see her was right, cheering as he announced his success. "Yes! I knew it didn't just work on campfires!"

Rocky found the event to be rather childish and immature, but felt that this could work in some way for battle, and reluctantly put it in. "I'm only doing this because I told Ryder I'd get as much info as possible."

Snow nodded in response with Marshall then seeing that maybe he could join in on the fun. "Can I give it a try?"

"Sure! Just swap places with Flare." Marshall did so, and when he stood in front of Sunshine, the dragon breathed fire, an then...

PFFFFFT

A green cloud of moldy cheese that unleashed a yellow cloud as the fire zoomed forward. However, Marshall farted a little too early, causing him to accidentally direct the fire towards his butt, which led to him being scorched; and this caused him to flinch as he felt the fire on his butt. Marshall then jumped into the air and started screaming, running around without thinking as he then scooted his butt on the ground before calling barking for his water cannon. "Water cannon!"

Marshall's water cannon came out and sprayed his butt, making him sigh of relief as the fire was put out. That said, it wasn't put out completely, and Sunshine directed him towards the lake everyone else was in. "Try Fire Breath Lake. (Marshall runs towards the lake) That water can put out anything!"

Marshall put his butt into the lake with some of the other dragons noticing as he sighed of relief, making sure not to fart in the water. He then saw the other dragons and turned around before backing away slowly. The dragons thankfully went back to playing after that, but it was still a little weird. Flare was quick to make sure Marshall wasn't too badly hurt as he put some burn cream on his butt as Snow commented on his situation. "You okay there?"

"Yeah, I'm fine." Marshall assured the others, and as Marshall put the cream on his butt, Marshall couldn't help but say something that annoyed everyone but Sunshine. "I'll say though. I didn't expect to get roasted in the butt today."

"Marshall!"

As everyone else laughed, Sunshine got a look at Marshall's pup pack, finding it really cool that it had a water cannon inside of it. Little did the group know that a devilish Kishu was hiding in a tree to eavesdrop on them. Trickery was currently looking for a way to help Charm cause some chaos in Dragon's Hamlet, and as he looked towards the lake, he found his source. The lake was populated with dragon children and perfect for sabotage. So Trickery pulled out a card that had a snowflake on it and gave a devilish grin as he threw it towards the lake.

Sunshine was admiring Marshall's pup pack as he asked about how he managed to fit a water cannon into it. "How does your water cannon fit inside?"

Marshall was explaining this to Sunshine as Rocky took notice to the lake becoming colder, which caught the attention of the dragons in it. This alerted her to danger, and he looked to the others to let them know. "Guys, correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure the lake isn't supposed to do that." Everyone looked towards the lake with Sunshine becoming horrified, and Rocky knowing exactly why when they started shivering. "We gotta get them out of there! Dragons can't survive in cold temperatures for too long without a viable heat source!"

Everyone then noticed that Flare had already taken off and gotten one of the dragons out of the water. Luckily he was nearby, and as Flare set him down, the dragon gave him a thumbs up for gratitude with the others rushing over as Rocky came up with a plan. "Marshall; see if you can adjust the heat on your water cannon!"

"Okay!" Marshall instantly barked for hot water "Hot water!", and that was what he got. However, it didn't do much, as the water was still incredibly cold; not quite freezing, but still close enough to give everyone chills.

Flare and Snow looked at each other when they started feeling that they were on the same page, rushing into the water and jumping in. Flare being Flare, decided to have a little fun with that. "Cannonball!" Flare cannonballed into the lake and accidentally splashed Marshall and Sunshine, as well as Rocky, who spat out the water that got onto him while wiping it off in a hurry.

Marshall laughed a little upon seeing this, which Rocky brushed off as Flare and Snow continued to rescue more dragons. Once they got some more of them out, Rocky explained why he wasn't jumping in. "Sorry I'm not doing much Sunshine. I'd jump in myself, but I hate getting wet, as well as water outside of drinking it, so my swimming skills naturally suck, so I doubt I'd be able to get any of the dragons up to shore."

"I'm just glad you guys were here to help keep them alive." Sunshine replied with a grateful smile, and then he explained his own reason for not jumping in. "I'd help myself too, but I'm not good at swimming either. And, well... ya know."

Sunshine pointed at the cold water as Flare helped pull out another dragon with Snow joining him. This wasn't as good as they'd hoped though. There were at least ten more dragons to save and Marshall's water cannon was almost out. "Darn it! I'll never have enough water to save them all in time!" Just then, some of the adult dragons rushed in and saved the rest of them, and while a couple of them were fine, most of them were suffering from colds due to being in the cold water.

Rocky got a good look at them and kept an optimistic point of view as he spoke to the others about it. "They should make it just fine."

"Yeah, because almost dying will be a PTSD effect cured by stating the obvious facts." Snow responded with clear sarcasm, and Rocky shrugged as he got to helping the dragons get home, only for the group to hear laughing from nearby. "It's not a laughing matter either by the way!"

This was when Charm revealed himself and started clapping slowly and evilly, giving his sadistic and cold hearted presence to be known to the dragons. Flare noticed the presence too and Marshall instantly stepped in front of Flare to protect him. He didn't have any weapons on him, but he couldn't let Flare get hurt. Rocky and Snow went into battle positions, but Snow could tell that Rocky looked a little hesitant. One of the dragons was Sunshine's mother, who stepped forward to protect her son and glared at Charm. "I take it YOU were responsible for the lake turning cold."

Charm couldn't help but chuckle at what Sunshine's mother just stated. It couldn't be further from the truth. "Yes. But I didn't do it alone." Trickery jumped out from the tree and revealed the kind of card he used to change the water. "My name is Charm. And this is Trickery. His card was the one that ruined your precious lake." The dragons all growled at Charm with Flare looking up to Marshall. While Marshall was trembling, Flare knew that he was ready to take whatever Charm had in store for him. He stood next to Marshall, which surprised him, and Flare got ready to fight back.

"Now I know what you're thinking. Why reveal myself to you?" Charm asked, and then he gave an ice cold stare towards Flare, who instantly got shook by it. "I simply wanted you to know who to have nightmares about as I turn your village (Takes out a smoke bomb) into a living hell!" Charm threw a smoke bomb at the ground and he and Trickery vanished, but not before Flare rushed at them, shocking Marshall as Flare tried to grab one of them, but they were gone when the cloud emerged.

Flare thankfully regained his balance quickly with Rocky immediately taking action, knowing exactly what they needed to do. "We gotta get the dragon children to a warm place, but not the village! Charm could kill them there and we can't risk that!" The dragons thankfully knew what to do to help the children, and they had to act quickly. They didn't want to risk losing any children.

The dragon children were shown to be surrounded by a blue fire, which was thankfully done on rock to avoid burning anything...and also because it was right in front of the village volcano. Sunshine's mother saw this as a good opportunity to help Rocky with his research and filled him in on what blue fire did. "Blue fire is used as a means of only hurting the intended target. If it misses the target, it won't damage what was hit instead."

Rocky found this to be fascinating and instantly started writing it down in his Pup-Pad to tell Ryder. "Phenomenal!"

Snow was currently walking over to Sunshine, who was putting a blanket over one of the sick dragons, hoping the request she had for him wasn't too sudden. "Hey Sunshine; (Sunshine looks at Snow) I know this probably isn't the best time, but... (Holds out her device) would you mind breathing fire on this? I need dragon fire breath inside of it so it has the right heat stroke to work properly."

Sunshine didn't think much of it, and Snow knew she didn't have to explain why he wanted him to breathe fire on it. After all, Sunshine was basically a dragon version of Flare. "Yeah, sure."

As Sunshine was doing that, Flare went over to the village elder, who was a rare breed of dragon. This dragon was purple, and he stood in front of the sick dragons with an intense aura of sorrow and fear. Flare was quick to apologize for what happened. "I'm sorry about what happened to some of the dragon children. The Paw Patrol was fighting Charm for years, but none of us thought he knew about this place."

The village elder saw a pure light in Flare. He could tell that Flare genuinely felt bad for what happened to the dragon children. He also knew his friends and brother felt that way as well. "It's not your fault young Dalmatian." Flare still felt bad, and the dragon elder put a claw nail on his shoulder gently as he smiled. "I'm eternally grateful for your attempt to save the children of Dragon's Hamlet. They could've died had you not acted quickly."

Flare did feel better after that, but he felt he had to do something. He couldn't sit around and let Charm destroy the village. He then looked to the village along with everyone else after an explosion was heard, and everyone became terrified when they saw it. Charm and Trickery were getting started on their destruction, and action had to be made fast! Luckily, everyone was close by, and Marshall and Rocky were already on it as Rocky spoke to the light blue female dragon who was keeping the fire afloat. "Open the fire please. We're gonna head to the village."

The dragon obliged, and when Flare went to join them, Marshall flinched and ran out of the barrier while grabbing Rocky's paw. This surprised Rocky, but then Marshall looked to the dragon and spoke quickly. "Close it, quick!"

Flare was surprised by this and ran to the barrier, arriving right as it closed and looking confused. "Marshall, what's going on!? I wanna help too!"

"You can help by staying here and tending to the sick dragons." Marshall advised Flare, and then he went up to the barrier to explain this. "Charm is way more skilled than us Flare. He managed to take me, Chase, and Zuma down with ease when we infiltrated his base; he even gave Richie trouble during that battle." Flare was still confused and Marshall tried to evade showing his fear about going into battle as he finished. "I know if you get involved in the fight... he'll hurt you. Maybe even worse. I can't let him hurt you. I WON'T let him hurt you. I have to protect you."

Marshall ran towards the village with Rocky seeing Flare's look of concern before running off. He felt bad about this as well, but he knew Marshall wasn't ready to face Charm, or Trickery, let alone both. 'Sorry Flare, but Marshall's right. This is too much for you.'

Marshall and Rocky arrived in Dragon's Hamlet to find that Charm was currently setting one of the buildings on fire with a fire card from Trickery, much to their horror. Marshall knew he couldn't run away again and he looked at the scar on his paw. This gave him the determination to stay and fight; or at least try to. After doing this, Rocky took notice to the wound, but Marshall ran in before he could say anything. Rocky joined after, and Marshall confronted Charm and Trickery without hesitation. "Hey!" This got their attention as Marshall tried his best to stand strong. "Stop this destruction, now!"

Charm couldn't help but find it hilarious how Marshall was 'trying horribly' to be tough. He was also quick to rip into him on it. "Oh no! The Dalmatian who can barely stay stable in battle is telling us to stop! The horror!" Charm pretended to swoon and started laughing with Rocky then stepping in as Charm then stopped. "Okay. Bored of laughing."

Rocky took out his gun and aimed it at Charm, who took notice to this and couldn't help but stare Rocky down over it. Rocky then started trembling and Marshall noticed quickly. He didn't think Rocky would be the one to struggle with a mission like this. Rocky was able to pull the trigger, but Charm caught the bullet and walked over to Rocky, who hesitated in firing again as Charm looked at him with a deadpan look. "What? You thought one bullet would kill me?"

Charm crushed the bullet and kicked Rocky back and then knocked a trembling Marshall to the ground. As Charm picked Marshall up, Rocky sat up and called over to Charm while showing that he was furious about what he'd done. "The dragons didn't do anything to you! What do you have to gain from destroying their village!?"

"Simple!" Charm responded as he kicked Marshall over to Rocky, and as Marshall looked at Charm with immense fear, the Golden Retriever gave a sadistic grin and glare to Rocky as he emphasized his benefit from this event. "I'll get to celebrate becoming an only child!" Charm took out another fire card as he then spoke to Trickery with an order. "Trickery! Keep them busy before they die!" Charm's comment confused Marshall for a bit, especially when he saw how much it hit Rocky, but he didn't have time to think about it. Trickery had appeared right in front of them.

"Don't worry. I'll be gentle."

Flare was back with Snow and the other dragons, being frustrated that Marshall wouldn't let him help save the village. "For all we know there could still be some dragons in the village who're trapped! Marshall could've at least let me help save them!"

"Perhaps it's for the best he let you stay here." The elder dragon responded, catching Flare's attention as he then explained what he meant. "Perhaps he doesn't want you to face the same fate as some of our own fallen comrades. We lost many dragons due to previous generations of dragons being heartless and violent." Flare went over to the elder dragon, who finished what he had to say. "That's why I had this generation as a peaceful one, that never fought back."

Flare didn't know how to feel about that. As he responded, little did he know that Snow had her attention caught by this, and was furious about it. "But if they attack you first then-"

"So you're just gonna stand around and let your village burn to the ground!?" Snow snapped, catching the attention of all the dragons in the area. Sunshine went over to Flare, who was quick to let him know that Snow wasn't going to hurt anyone as the Husky walked up to the village elder. "I'm all for a peaceful world, but even in worlds like that, fighting has to be done to protect it! If you're telling me that you're willing to risk your species' life just to avoid violence then you're pathetic!"

The elder dragon was shocked to hear that, but as one of the other dragons tried to step forward, Sunshine's mother stopped them. Shaking her head no, she knew that Snow was saying what they needed to hear as she continued. "I get it; previous generations of dragons were evil, so you want to avoid that! But fighting to defend your village isn't a bad thing! If anything it's the best excuse to START fighting! (Clenches her fist) My sister got captured by that Golden Retriever protecting me, and I refuse to let you lose your village due to pure cowardice!"

Snow looked at the other dragons, keeping their attention by making an offer she was sure most of them, at the very least, would accept. "I don't know about the rest of you, but I'm sick of staying here and letting that village burn! I'm not saying watching over the sick dragons isn't helping, but if your town burns without any chance of saving it, which it still has by the way, then tending to them will be pointless because you'll have no guarantee of somewhere to go! And I'm gonna save your village, even if you won't!"

Flare couldn't help smiling as he walked up to Snow. He knew the two of them were on the same page from the word go. He put a hand on her shoulder, giving Snow a determined smile as she pumped her fist and offered to let the visibly well dragons to join her and Flare. "Now who's with me!?"

Some of the dragons stood up, but some of them stayed down, either due to being scared, or wanting to stay and watch after the other dragons. Snow didn't find pity in them however, as she was glad that at least some of them were willing to fight. Some was better than none at all, and Flare took notice to how she was ready to jump in. "Okay then. Looks like we have our team. Let's go save the village!"

Marshall and Rocky were currently facing off against Trickery, who had them both struggling to hold their own as Trickery dodged one of Rocky's kicks and pulled out a new card. "Say hello to my mind game." Trickery threw the card at Marshall and Rocky, who both dodged it, only to get pulled back and trapped in some kind of trance when they got trapped by some rope. The two of them were then shown to be shivering with fear as Trickery walked up to them after a few seconds to tell a bit about what it did. "This is what's known as a nightmare card! I think you can tell what it does from emotions alone."

Marshall's nightmare was shown first. He was shown standing around completely helpless as he then saw Charm having stabbed Flare in the neck. This made him burst into tears as he ran over to Flare and kneeled down to him after Charm dropped him to the ground. "FLARE!" Flare was gasping for breath, unable to recover from this. He and Marshall were both incredibly scared, and as they looked at each others eyes, Marshall kept crying as he called to him in a distraught and horrified voice. "Please Flare! Stay with me! You've never given up before; I won't let you start now! Just please, stay with me!"

Marshall tried to help Flare recover, trying to find something in his pup pack by barking for medical supplies "Medical supplies if we have them; anything!", and he started tending to Flare's wounds. It was no use however. Flare was still running out of breath and gave his final gasp. Marshall was mortified. He'd just watched his brother die and couldn't do anything to stop it because he was too scared to even blink. He failed himself, and worst of all, he failed Flare. He couldn't stop crying as he then called up to the sky in distraught with only one word in mind.

"FLAAAAAARE!"

Rocky's nightmare was shown next, and his nightmare was of him being trapped in a large container of water, one you would usually see a magician trying to escape form. He tried to hold his breath, but he then saw Charm looking at him and watching him die from nearby. The Golden Retriever seemed happy to see him dying, and as Rocky ran out of breath, Charm showed him the head of a certain Chocolate Labrador, one that instantly made him call out and burst into tears. "ZUMA!"

Rocky was so mortified however, that he lost his breath completely and drowned in the water after a few seconds of gasping underwater. Charm then couldn't help but start laughing sadistically, as he'd finally managed to kill rocky, something he'd wanted to do for a long time now. Just then, Marshall and Rocky were broken out of their nightmare trances. As the two of them looked at each other, and then at the ground, they were both relieved to find that they were under a trance. That said, they couldn't help but question what happened as Rocky asked about it. "Wait. Who brought us back to reality?"

"You can thank the dragons for that!"

Marshall and Rocky looked to find Flare and Snow, who called out that line in sync, and were currently standing on the back of Sunshine's mother with their arms crossed and Sunshine sitting next to Flare. Flare then jumped down with Snow as he explained what happened. "We found out that one of the reasons the dragons didn't get involved at first was because they didn't want a repeat of the past. Thankfully, Snow snapped them out of that and reminded them that fighting for peace is better than just sitting around and waiting for it to happen."

"And Flare of course told the strongest of the dragons to go all kamikaze on Charm." Snow pointed out, and then she gave a concerned look as she saw the outcome, which was the dragon, a buff green one, crashing to the ground beside them. This of course, led to those who were there to look in horror and disbelief. "Yeah, I probably should've told you Flare, Charm is the only creature Richie has ever struggled in a battle against. Literally the ONLY one."

Flare took note of that as Charm was then shown fighting off two dragons at once, sliding down one's back as he then took out a gun, as well as the knife he used to kill the green dragon. He then shot at the two dragons who dove down at him, shooting them in the wings and causing them to crash into the ground; one of them even crashed into a house. Flare and the others had already caught sight of this as he then grabbed Snow's gun and shot at Charm, surprising Snow as Charm dodged the bullet that Flare fired and charged at him.

Snow pushed Flare to the ground right before ducking and managed to dodge Charm's spin kick when he got up to them. Just then however, Charm kicked Snow in the face and sent her back, causing Flare to attempt to run over to her, only for Charm to stomp on his chest. Marshall attempted to lunge at Charm instantly, only to freeze up as soon as Charm aimed his gun at Flare's head. This was something Charm instantly took notice of and couldn't help but taunt Marshall for. "Like I said. Ryder recruited you so you wouldn't be sad. And it seems as if his efforts were in vain."

Charm was about to shoot Flare, only for Rocky to try and grab his gun, which he used to smack him to the side. He then got a call from someone and answered it, pointing his gun at Rocky to make sure no one moved as he did. "I'm in the middle of something dad! I was about to kill one of Rocky's pathetic friends!" Charm then became alerted when he heard what his dad had to say and became furious when he heard about it. "Great. I'll be back soon." Charm hung up and killed a dragon who tried to kill him from behind, wiping him out and glaring at Rocky. "You fools got lucky."

Charm went over to Trickery and signaled him to move out, which the two of them did with the drop of a smoke bomb. After everyone was sure they were gone, Marshall ran over to Flare and hugged him with Flare wrapping his arms around him. "Flare; I'm so sorry! I wanted to stop him, (Pulls Flare away) but when he pulled his gun on you I just... froze."

"I'm no expert, but I think most people would in your paws." Snow assured Marshall as she went over to them, readjusting her jaw, which still hurt from Charm's kick. "Ow. Does anyone but Trickery like that guy?" Flare started to think about what Charm did to Dragon's Hamlet. He knew Charm was capable of doing this kind of stuff, but he didn't think he was willing to hurt fellow children to cause destruction. At least not defenseless children.

Flare was helping the dragons rebuild Dragon's Hamlet as he and Sunshine put some stone bricks in place for the dragons to make blocks with. "Okay Charoal; we're ready!" A dark red dragon then smashed the stone and put it to the proper shape. It was perfect for fitting into a house, and Flare found the hammer Charcoal used to look really cool.

Marshall and Rocky were putting up a support beam of the same house, and after it was screwed into place, Marshall had a question for Rocky. "Can I ask you a personal question Rocky?" Rocky gave Marshall his full attention, and Flare became curious and went over after letting Sunshine know. "During the battle, Charm said he was going to celebrate being an 'only child'. What was that all about?"

Rocky breathed in through his nose, and out from his mouth. He knew he couldn't keep this fact a secret, especially now that Flare and Marshall had both met Charm. Although this revelation could get a negative reaction from either one of them, he decided that telling them was better than not telling them. And he'd known them for a month now, so he couldn't expect them to hate him after this. He didn't know how to say it, so he just did and hoped for the best. "Because... Charm is my younger brother."

Flare and Marshall were shocked to learn this, and Snow, who was nearby putting another stone up, walked over when she heard this as Flare spoke up. "He's your brother?" Rocky nodded his head yes with Flare wondering how Charm couldn't make an exception to Rocky in terms of destruction. It was one of many things he just couldn't quite understand. "Why would he wanna kill his own brother?"

"He told me a little more about this." Snow revealed, and when she looked at Rocky, he gave a nod, showing that he was okay with her talking about it. "Apparently Charm was like this even as a newborn. It just took some time for it to be noticeable."

Rocky showed immense guilt for what was going on as he emphasized on his desire to fix what Charm started. "I was about six when I finally realized what he was doing in secret. I didn't have the strength to kill him then, so I ran away. When I realized our dad was on board with this, even manipulating Charm, I felt even more dirty inside." Rocky tried to hold back his tears as he explained the rest of this story. "Long story short, I was running on my own for about a month, barely able to survive. Two years after I arrived in Adventure Bay, I joined the Paw Patrol."

Marshall put a paw on Rocky's shoulder and assured him that, no matter what, he wouldn't judge him as Charm's brother. "I've known you long enough to know you're nothing like Charm. I don't think I have to say it, but this doesn't change anything." Rocky was glad to hear that, but he still couldn't help but give a look of sorrow on his face as he looked to the ground. He knew that him hesitating to kill Charm was a huge reason Charm was able to get this far in his plans.

And he made that same mistake again... today. After only firing one bullet.

Soft piano music started playing as the night sky was shown with the scene then descending to the cliff at the edge of the Paw Patrol lookout's standing as Flare walked over to it. Flare then sat down and looked at the stars as he thought about the pups in the Paw Patrol with a female voice singing Risks Worth Taking. He first thought about Snow. "This world has so much in it, that I have yet to see. And I have to be ready for how to act upon it, whatever it may be. (Flare starts thinking about Chase) I've made so many great friends, since I came to Adventure Bay. And when I start to help with missions, that will certainly be my day."

The song continued as Flare started to think about Rocky. "When things get good, and when they get bad, I hope they know that I have their back. There will be times where I make mistakes, but I'll work to get back on track. (Flare starts thinking about Zuma) There's no such thing as a chosen one, or any of that destiny stuff. I have to work to help this world, and that doesn't mean I get all buff."

Flare then started thinking about Skye as the song continued. "If I fall down, I'll just get right back up, and I'll prove to them that I'm a strong pup; and that I won't let the danger I face make me freeze and start shaking."
