Paw Patrol X
New Recruits arc Episode nine: Marshall's Fuzzy Friend
The Paw Patrol lookout was shown as the next shot then revealed Marshall looking through some kind of binoculars that seemed to view the outside from the roof. Marshall seemed quite excited for something, almost Flare levels of seemingly hard to stay still. This was quickly taken notice of by Chase and Ryder, who came up from the Elevator as Marshall greeted them. "Hi Chase; Hi Ryder."
"Hey Marshall." Chase responded as Ryder waved to Marshall, and then Chase took notice to how giddy Marshall was and couldn't help but laugh as he joked about it. "Hey; you and Flare didn't swap bodies, did you?"
"Nope. Still me!" Marshall assured Chase, and then he went back to looking through the binoculars as he explained why he was so giddy. "I love birds, and they love me back, so whenever I hear about some kind of bird event, I can't help but get excited for it."
Ryder kneeled down to Marshall and smiled as he rubbed his head. "Then I'm sure these geese will love you Marshall. Just keep in mind that, like most birds, they can't speak normal words."
"Not a problem." Marshall replied, and then he saw a flock of geese coming by and started cheering as he saw them. "The geese are coming! (Runs towards the slide) The geese are coming!" But of course, Marshall being Marshall, as he ran towards the slide, he tripped over his own feet and started sliding down, much to the laughter of Chase and Ryder.
Chase then looked up to Ryder, having his own little theory as to how Flare and Marshall were both so excitable. "I think it's genetic."
Marshall arrived down at the bottom of the slide and skidded on the ground for a bit before he landed in a nest of birdseed, cracked corn, and other geese foods Snow and Rocky were preparing. He ended up catching some of the corn in his mouth and spit it into a cup Rocky offered him. That didn't stop his excitement however, and he happily announced what he saw. "The geese are coming!"
"We heard genius." Snow responded bluntly with a deadpan smile, and Marshall continued to be excited for when the geese arrived at the lookout. He could hardly wait for the flock to arrive.
Fire blazed over the screen as moments from the season one were shown and rock music started playing and the one who was playing the guitar started singing Help The World. The first scene that was shown involved Flare watching Chase and Marshall in action during the fire. "There's a team of dogs who never back down from any danger." The scene then changed to Richie shooting at Charm's minions to disarm them, killing one who gets too close to a human. "Their mission is to help people, no matter how minor or major."
The scene then changed to Ryder standing tall as he leads some of the members through what looks like a forest they were sent to for a mission. "The leader Ryder takes these dogs in so they can help in any way they can." The scene then changed to Flare putting the daisy in his flower, just like he did in the third part of the pilot. "A means to prove yourself, or saving them from a bad life, it's all part of his plan!"
Chase comes on screen and is shown bragging proudly about himself as he arrested someone."Chase!" A two second riff played before showing Skye performing a triple backflip and barking to turn on her wings and fly up. "Skye!" A two second riff played before showing Zuma surfing and looking to see if the others were watching him. "Zuma!" A two second riff played before showing Rocky inventing some kind of defense weapon while paying the maximum attention to every detail. "Rocky!" A two second riff played before showing Snow snatching a gun from one of Charm's soldiers as soon as they aim it at her and aiming it back at theim. "Snow!"
A two second riff played before showing Marshall climbing up a ladder to save someone as he breathed to himself while trying desperately to keep his cool. "Marshall!"
"My, bro-ther!"
Flare was then shown to be training in the Paw Patrol lair as he blocked a robot's kicks and punches before kicking his head off. "I may not be a member but I'll be useful however I can!" The scene then changed to Flare holding Snow's paw as the two of them are seemingly running away from something dangerous. "Even if it's a side mission I'll help the world as long as I stand!" The scene then changed to Flare meeting Charm as the Golden Retriever walks over to him with a cold glare and menacing scowl, making Flare back away slowly. "The Paw Patrol is on a roll, no matter how badly the danger's swirled!"
The scene then changed to Flare standing with the Paw Patrol, as Marshall rubs Flare's head, Snow smiles to Flare, Rocky blushes when Zuma gives him a sly grin, Chase gives a wink to Skye, who giggles about the gesture, Richie puts his guns away and looks on with determination, and Ryder crosses his arms and gives a confident smile. "My brother is a member of their team now...(The riff continues for three seconds uninterrupted) and I'm always ready to (Flare gives a cheerful smile and gives a peace sign to the audience with his eyes closed and his eyes giving a teeth smile) help the world."
The riff continued for about five more seconds before slowing down and giving one final riff with the title Paw Patrol X being shown on screen with Paw Patrol in white and the X in red. As soon as the riff slowed down, Flare was shown hanging up a picture that showed exactly what everyone was doing before the song ended, revealing it to have been a group photo.
The Paw Patrol were waiting for the flock of geese as Marshall talked about one of the times he helped someone in regards to birds back in Twin Flame Island. "Mrs. Lampshade told me after that, the parrot couldn't stop copying what I said for a week!"
Chase had a good feeling that Marshall was gonna like the geese, and that the feeling was gonna be mutual. "If you really do have this strong of a connection with birds, then I think I can personally guarantee that these geese will love you. (Gives a confident grin) And that's a pretty big deal coming from me."
"As big of a deal as you being a total gas tank?" Zuma jabbed, leaving Chase to bring him into a playful noogie, which made Zuma laugh as he commented on it. "Hey; I just got up!"
Zuma laughed a bit more as Ryder then spotted the geese and let everyone know they were coming down. "At ease everyone. The geese are about to land." Ryder knew this wasn't too serious, but he still wanted to make sure everyone acted professional. Thankfully, upon Ryder's command, the pups all lined up and waited for the geese to arrive. Marshall still couldn't wait however. He knew he was going to love the geese. And as they landed, Ryder was quick to greet them. "Hello there. I'm Ryder Maxor, and this is the Paw Patrol. Feel free to say hi."
The geese inspected the Paw Patrol from afar with Flare being quick to wave to them and give his usual greeting. "Hi!" The geese seemed happy to meet the paw Patrol, and then they went over to the nest that was made for them. Marshall then took notice to how one of the geese, a little gosling, ended up walking into a bucket that was on it's side out of curiosity. Flare couldn't help but giggle upon seeing this. "Okay, you can play with my toys, but you can't keep them."
The Paw Patrol then saw the bucket start to roll, and they started laughing upon seeing it with Marshall speaking up. "I got it." Marshall then took off after the bucket, and as it ran down the hill, he found it harder to keep his balance. He ended up tripping over his own feet again "Whoa!", and he landed right in front of the bucket as he rolled down. Thankfully, he was able to stop it with his body alone; and as he got up, he checked the bucket and smiled to the gosling to make sure he was okay. He was a little dizzy, but he looked to be fine. "Hey fuzzy little guy."
The gosling managed to stop spinning around and looked up to Marshall. He instantly took notice of his kind smile, and Marshall's love of birds started to kick in. Marshall started laughing when the gosling honked happily towards him. He took the bucket and walked up the hill carefully with the gosling jumping onto his head. Marshall didn't mind though. He liked the feel of the gosling's fuzzy body on his head. As he came up, he put the bucket down and smiled up to the gosling.
Marshall went back over to the team while smiling to the gosling and assured them that he was okay. "No need to worry. Fuzzy didn't face any injuries, small or big."
Everyone was quick to notice how cozy Fuzzy was on Marshall's head with Flare running over to him and greeting him. "Hi Fuzzy!" Fuzzy was startled by Flare's energetic and fast introduction, catching his attention as he quickly apologized "Oh; sorry.", and then introduced himself in a softer manner. "I'm Flare. The dog who's head you're on right now is my brother Marshall."
Fuzzy looked down to Marshall and smiled as he looked at him and Flare. He saw a similar light in, and took a liking to both of them, even though he liked Marshall more. Skye was also quick to point this out as she walked over to Marshall. "Look at that Marshall. You have a new BGFF!"
Marshall was confused by this acronym, since he'd never heard 'BFF' used in that way before. "Meaning?"
"Best Goose Friend Forever!" Skye explained, and the giggling of Flare and Marshall was a sign that they liked what Skye did there.
Even though they'd only just met, Marshall and Fuzzy had already started spending time together, such as when they played Pup Pup Boogie inside the lookout. While Fuzzy couldn't play Pup Pup Boogie, or video games in general, due to his small size, he could cheer Marshall on along with Flare, who was currently going up against Zuma. "Yeah! Do it Marshall! Shake those Dalmatian moves!" Marshall was struggling a bit, since his natural clumsiness kept him from performing some of the moves. Not that he could win anyway. He was up against Zuma.
Zuma, being the laid back and confident dude that he was, naturally flexed on Marshall during this game, proving Skye's words about him being the best at the game to be right. Marshall didn't mind though. He was just glad to be having a fun time. That said, a few more seconds in, he messed up a move so badly that he ended up rolling back. He almost crashed into Fuzzy, but thankfully, Flare reacted quickly and pulled him out of the way. This led to Marshall being the only one hitting the wall.
Fuzzy rushed over to Marshall to check and see if he was okay, and Flare went over as well, knowing that Marshall was fine, but still checking to make sure. "You okay Marshall?"
"Yeah, I'm fine." Marshall got up and let Fuzzy sit on his head with Zuma starting up a new game as Flare got onto the dance pad. "Come on Fuzzy. Let's cheer Flare on." Fuzzy honked happily and sat comfortably on Marshall's head. Despite Flare knowing that Zuma would beat him, he was happy to start the game and began on a pretty decent note; it wasn't anything special, but he was still great compared to Marshall.
Later that day, Marshall and Fuzzy were outside washing Marshall's fire truck, since it was in need of a good scrubbing. Marshall was making good sure that he got the sides, and Fuzzy was using his tail feathers to wipe down the windshield. Flare was busy helping Snow with her device as they discussed the location for the next thing she needed, so he couldn't help him this time. Thankfully, Fuzzy was a pretty decent backup. As Marshall continued to wash his truck, Fuzzy hopped down to get some more soap and water, since he seemed to be out of it where he was. As he walked past Marshall however, a natural bodily function occurred without either of them noticing...
BRRRRRRRRRRAAAAAAAAAAT
...Marshall cracked a five second fart directly onto Fuzzy and hit him with a green fart cloud of moldy cheese from the pizza the team had for lunch. Marshall had already started blushing, since he'd farted in front of his new friend without intending to, but he saw it as much worse when he heard Fuzzy coughing. He quickly turned around and saw Fuzzy wafting the fart away, helping him out with that as he chuckled nervously and gave a smile that showed it just as well. "Oops. Hehe. Sorry Fuzzy." Fuzzy coughed a bit more before going over to the hose so Marshall could help get the fart scent off of him.
Then dinner time started rolling around in the evening, but Fuzzy was struggling to get in between the geese in his flock and he couldn't get any of the food in there. Marshall came through for him however, and just before he went inside to eat dinner, he brought out some seeds for Fuzzy to smack down on. Fuzzy smiled upon seeing this and happily started eating before Marshall rubbed his small little head gently. Marshall couldn't help but feel that he and Fuzzy were going to be friends for a long time. It's just a shame that he couldn't stay for longer than a day.
Then, as nighttime rolled around, Fuzzy was shown to be exploring Flare and Marshall's room, since he wanted to sleep with Marshall. As he was on Flare's bunk getting a good look around, he saw Flare's teddy bear. He didn't quite understand why Flare had a brown teddy bear, but when he went over to it, he saw a rare instance of Flare being rude. "Hey!" Flare came onto Fuzzy's bunk and snatched his teddy bear so Fuzzy couldn't wreck it. "The only one who can touch Princess Chocolate is me!"
Fuzzy wasn't hurt by Flare's behavior in that moment, just confused. Marshall then came up and let Fuzzy walk over to him as he spoke up to let him know it wasn't personal. "Sorry about that Fuzzy. Flare hates it whenever anyone gets close to his teddy bear." Fuzzy tilted his head to the side with Marshall flinching and scratching his head a bit. "It's a little complicated."
Fuzzy hopped onto Marshall's head with Flare having calmed down and starting to wonder about Fuzzy's sleeping location. "Was Fuzzy's flock still being mean to him?"
"No, he just wanted to sleep with me." Marshall explained, and then he let Marshall onto his bunk. This led to Fuzzy sleeping sound near Marshall's pillow as Marshall then climbed up to Flare to talk to him about his reaction to Fuzzy getting near Princess Chocolate. "And I think Fuzzy would've been careful with Princess Chocolate if you asked him to back up nicely."
Flare hugged Princess Chocolate as he made his response, starting to feel a little guilty for snapping at Fuzzy. "I guess. I just panicked when he got too close."
Marshall cimbed up to Flare's bunk and rubbed his head, smiling as he assured him that Fuzzy wasn't upset with him for the incident. "Just try to use a calmer approach next time. Flare nodded in response and Marshall finished rubbing his head and smiled upon hearing his laugh of joy.
Flare, Marshall, and Fuzzy were sound asleep that night, but Fuzzy then woke up and found himself unable to sleep. He hopped off of Marshall's bed and walked around to see if he could do anything to make himself tired, but found himself unsuccessful. Much to the later horror of Marshall, the little gosling then left the room by pushing the door open to search out there, since it was just a crack open. That can't be good.
The next morning, Marshall was shown to still be sound asleep as Flare slid down the ladder to the floor. He was already well aware of the fact that Marshall was still sleeping, and he noticed that Fuzzy wasn't with Marshall. He quickly reached the conclusion that Fuzzy woke up and went back to his flock. Since that was the case, he jumped up and down a couple times on Marshall's bed, and after the third jump, Marshall sat up and saw a bubbly Flare happily smiling in his face. "Morning Marshall!"
Marshall couldn't help but laugh as he rubbed his head and wiped his eyes to prepare more for the day. "Morning Flare." Marshall then noticed that Fuzzy was gone, and he started to get a little worried. He didn't think he'd leave in the middle of the night. "Where's Fuzzy?"
"Maybe he woke up before us and went over to his flock." Flare suggested, and then he and Marshall hopped out of bed and went off to see if Flare's theory was correct.
Flare and Marshall went outside to see if Fuzzy was out there, hoping that Flare was right about him being with his flock. When they went over to said flock, Marshall was quick to ask them where Fuzzy was. "Excuse me? Um... whatever flocks of geese like to be called? Does Geese flock work?" The geese turned around and one of them nodded their head yes in response. "Okay, good. Have you guys seen Fuzzy anywhere?"
The geese were a little confused about this with the mention of a 'Fuzzy'. After the dumbfounded look the two brothers gained from it, Flare clarified what Marshall meant. "The little gosling that came with you guys to the lookout yesterday."
The geese all looked at each other after coming to a look of realization and nodded their heads no. This led to Marshall being horrified; especially after he realized something from last night and saw ryder leave before running over to him with Flare, who was almost as worried as he was. "Ryder! Ryder!" Ryder stopped to give Marshall his full attention as he then explained the situation. "Fuzzy's gone! I forgot to close mine and Marshall's bedroom door last night and I think he got out!"
"Fuzzy's missing!?" Ryder asked with concern. He then thought about the detail Marshall gave him on how Fuzzy got out. "Huh. I wonder why Zuma didn't try anything."
Flare and Marshall looked at each other with a bit of confusion but then got back on track. They knew they had to find Fuzzy before his flock left or he'd be stuck here, at least until they visited again. Marshall was quick to make this apparent. "We have to find him before his flock leaves."
"Well Marshall, no job is too big, no pup is too small!" Ryder announced proudly, and then he took out his pup pad to call the rest of the team.
Chase was playing at Adventure Bay's park with Zuma and Skye as Zuma, and from the looks of it, the three of them were playing a game of tag. Chase was currently looking for Skye, as she seemed to have escaped his eyesight, and he needed to be ready. Little did he know that Skye was looking down at him from the jungle gym, and she didn't hesitate in backflipping before she jumped down to Chase, landing on top of him and surprising him with an 'oof!' coming from his lungs. Chase then stood up and Skye laid on her back as she booped his nose. "Tag! You're it!"
Chase and Skye laughed a bit with Zuma heard playfully teasing them as he came down the slide. "You two gonna kiss yet?"
Chase and Skye flinched and blushed while looking at each other, but before they could answer, Ryder gave them a call on their pup collars. "Paw Patrol, to the lookout!"
"Ryder needs us!" And with that, Chase, Skye, and Zuma made a break for the lookout to see what Ryder needed.
The pups were all heading to the lookout and went to the elevator while preparing mentally for whatever mission Ryder had in store for them. However, when Marshall rushed in behind everyone, he tripped over his own feet again and crashed into Chase, who ended up giving a sly grin as he joked about it as Flare joined the others. "Ooh la la Marshall. (Marshall starts blushing) You sure picked a feisty way to come out." Marshall was still blushing, but he couldn't help but laugh with the others as the elevator started to rise and send them to the top floor.
The elevator gave every member of the Paw Patrol their individual pup packs and gear, something which Flare loved the sight of. What he saw in addition to that was every pup having their own interactions to this with Marshall smiling as he watched the suit come onto him, Chase checking himself out, Zuma giving a confident grin, Skye yipping happily, Rocky making sure his was on absolutely perfectly, and Snow adjusting her police hat to fit properly while being pumped up for the mission. Flare couldn't help but squee with joy, like he did pretty much every time this happened.
When the elevator then reached the top, all of the pups jumped forward with Chase being first, and then Rocky, then Skye, then Snow, then Zuma, and then Marshall, as Chase then announced them as Flare got next to Marshall so he could see as well. "Paw Patrol, ready for action Ryder sir!"
Ryder then got on with announcing the mission, putting the screen up as the images that came up explained what happened. "Thanks for coming pups. The little gosling that came with the flock yesterday has gone missing, and we have to find him before his flock leaves."
Marshall couldn't help feeling guilty for what'd happened. If only he'd remembered to close the bedroom door. "Poor Fuzzy. It's all my fault."
"Not gonna lie;" Flare started to say as he put his paw on Marshall's shoulder; but where as most of these cases would result in agreeing with the victim, Flare had some other words in mind. "I forgot to close our bedroom door too."
Ryder continued assigning the two pups he needed for this mission, knowing just who he needed to bring, starting with... "Chase! With your naturally gifted sense of smell, you should be able to track Fuzzy down no problem."
"Chase is on the case!"
Ryder then selected the second member, who was... "Marshall! Fuzzy would follow you anywhere. You'd be the perfect one to help bring him back."
"I'm fired up!"
"I'll look around the lookout while you guys search Adventure Bay." Flare spoke up, knowing that not being a member yet didn't mean he wasn't useful. "There could still be a chance he didn't get far."
"Thanks Flare. If you don't find him, just focus on your training and leave it to us." Flare nodded in response with Ryder announcing the mission start. "Alright! Paw Patrol, is on a roll!"
The pups all started barking excitedly with Ryder running over to the fire pole and sliding down it. Chase and Marshall then went down the ladder, and Chase went down with a confident smile and howl, where as Marshall ended up slipping and started sliding down on his back. When Chase jumped into his police car, he was confident and determined to get the mission done. When Marshall jumped into his fire truck, he managed to regain his balance, and laughed a little at the incident he had going down. They were both ready after that, and took off behind Ryder, who was in his ATV.
Once Chase, Marshall, and Ryder were in town, the three of them were on the search for Fuzzy on foot to find any clues one going at a slow pace could spot. It paid off too, as Ryder spotted something that they could've possibly drove by. It was a gosling feather, and when Ryder picked it up, the three of them instantly knew who it was from. Ryder then kneeled down to Chase to see if he could track Fuzzy with it. "Chase. Use this to track Fuzzy."
Chase nodded and did so, sniffing the feather for a bit before he ended up sneezing from it. This made Marshall chuckle a little as Chase then gave him context. "I'm a little allergic to feathers. And cats. Mostly cats; thankfully I have allergy meds for that."
Chase continued to track Fuzzy down, and after a few minutes of sniffing, and occasional sneezing, they finally arrived at some kind of station when suddenly, Chase sneezed and...
PFFT
A quick but noticeable and loud fart escaped from his rear end that made it vibrate a little, and it made him and Marshall laugh in response. Chase then couldn't resist joking about it with a sly grin on his face. "Guess my butt had to sneeze too." Marshall and Chase laughed a bit more, and then they heard honking, leaving Chase to look up and spot Fuzzy on the roof of the Adventure Bay train station. "Ryder! Marshall! Fuzzy made his way to the roof of the train station!"
"What!?" Marshall exclaimed, and then he and Ryder looked up and became alerted when they saw Fuzzy on the roof being picked on by a seagull. "Don't worry Fuzzy! We're gonna get you home to your flock!"
Ryder inspected the situation and instantly observed that Fuzzy couldn't fly down thanks to a soda can ring he was trapped in preventing him from spreading his wings out. "That plastic soda ring around Fuzzy is trapping his wings, so he can't fly down! (Turns to Marshall) Marshall; I'm gonna need you to get Fuzzy down. (Turns to Chase) Chase, get the seagull to leave Fuzzy alone."
"We're on it!" Chase and Marshall responded in sync, and then they both ran up to their vehicles. Luckily, Ryder put them into auto-drive mode, so they followed the three to the train station as they tracked Fuzzy down.
Marshall drove up to the train station and barked for his ladder "Ladder!", and as it extended, he nodded to Chase.
Chase barked for his megaphone "Megaphone!", and used it to call up to the seagull to tell him to back off. "Back off seagull! Leave the gosling alone and no one gets hurt!"
The seagull was frightened by Chase's megaphone, and as it flew off, it accidentally knocked Fuzzy over as Marshall was climbing up. "Fuzzy!" Luckily, Marshall thought quickly and flipped his fire hat off of him and caught in his mouth. Fuzzy was close enough for Marshall to reach as well, and he managed to catch Fuzzy successuflly. Marshall found himself impressed by how well he handled that, and as he let Fuzzy jump onto his back as he put his hat on, he commented on it. "Wow! I handled that way better than I thought I would've."
"To be fair though, saving a gosling is childs-play compared to Charm's very existence." Chase responded, leaving Marshall to laugh in response about how right he was. As he climbed down however, he slipped and ended up hitting his butt on the bumps he'd climbed up. Fuzzy ended up falling down too, but thankfully, he landed safely. Unthankfully however, he landed on Marshall's butt and gagged from the smell of Marshall's butt musk. As he hopped down, Chase laughed a bit and commented on it as Marshall sat up. "Believe me; you're lucky it wasn't ME who farted on you yesterday."
Chase and Marshall laughed in response to that as Ryder walked over to them. He was glad the mission was a success, and was smiling as he spoke to his pups. "Come on guys. Let's get Fuzzy home." Chase and Marshall nodded with Marshall looking down at Fuzzy and helping him taking the soda can ring off of him. He then started to look a little down. He didn't wanna say goodbye to Fuzzy just yet, not after they'd just been getting so close.
Flare was currently keeping the geese busy as he had failed to find Fuzzy, and he knew Fuzzy couldn't be left behind. His idea was keeping them busy was... interesting, to say the least. "Okay; third question. Do geese actually beat people up in the park?" The geese all looked at each other with the leader honking no, leaving Flare to nod in response. "Interesting." Flare then saw Marshall, Chase, and Ryder coming up, and Flare instantly noticed that Fuzzy was laying softly on Marshall's fire hat. "You got Fuzzy back!"
"We sure did!" Fuzzy hopped off of Marshall's head upon Marshall's signal, and then Marshall said what he could to say goodbye to him. It was a bit of a struggle, but he managed to find some words that could stick. "It's about time for you to go Fuzzy. Your flock is off to their next destination."
Fuzzy gave a somber look in response to that with Flare coming up with a suggestion as he grinned. "Can he stay with us?! Just keep him away from Princess Chocolate!"
Marshall did like the idea of Fuzzy staying with them, but he then nodded his head no with a smile. He knew Flare was trying to make him and Fuzzy happy, but he also knew that Fuzzy would miss his flock if he left. He also needed his flock to survive, since the pups were too busy to raise a gosling. "As cool as that would be Flare, a gosling needs their flock. At least until they're all grown up."
"Oh yeah; that makes sense." Flare admitted, hoping that Marshall would get to see Fuzzy again someday.
Marshall thankfully had more to say to Fuzzy, which he knew would raise his spirits. "Don't worry though Fuzzy. I'll be right here for when you come back next year; or whenever your flock plans on seeing the Paw Patrol again. And we'll do all kinds of fun stuff too. I don't know what yet, but I know that whatever we come up with will be a blast!" Fuzzy beamed when Marshall said that with Marshall then giggling as he then finished. "And I'll try not to fart on you next time." Fuzzy nodded with relief as he said goodbye to Marshall, who hugged him tightly. "Goodbye Fuzzy."
Flare rubbed Fuzzy's head as the little gosling ran off to his flock after that, leaving Flare to say goodbye as well. "Bye Fuzzy! Have a nice flight!"
Fuzzy's flock took off, and he looked back to find Flare and Marshall running after him to see him officially take off. Ryder and Chase were behind them as well. When he saw that they were running towards him with smiles, he smiled and kept flying onward, knowing that he would see them again someday. He was especially excited for the day he'd see Marshall again. When they got to the cliffside, they saw Fuzzy's flock flying off into the sunset, and while Marshall kept smiling, he couldn't help but shed a tear, which instantly caught the attention of Chase and Flare.
Flare wiped Marshall's tear for him and Ryder rubbed his head, making him happy as Chase then gave him something. It was a feather from Fuzzy, and the smile on Chase's face made Marshall knew what it meant. Marshall accepted the feather, and he knew that it was something he could use to remember Fuzzy by. Marshall put the feather in his ear, and then he and Chase did their signature handshake. And once again, emphasis was put on Marshall's scar, which was to remind him to never give up.
Later that day, Marshall was in town with Flare, and the two of them were leaving the local gas station, where they got some things while Marshall refilled his car with gas. While they only went to get gas and some sodas, they did admittedly get some hot dogs for lunch too. And Flare of course, couldn't resist his favorite snack. So when he hopped into Marshall's fire truck, he looked inside with Marshall catching him and giving a sly grin. "Nice try buddy. (Pulls the bag away) You can have your Chedder Bombs after you eat your lunch; that's what we agreed on."
Flare rolled his eyes while smiling with a sarcastic response "Yes dad!", and he started to think about his own father for a bit. He quickly brushed that off however, and asked Marshall how he was doing after Fuzzy's departure after they took off. "So... how do you feel about Fuzzy leaving?"
"Well I'm sad, obviously. But I know he'll be back." Marshall assured Flare. He knew Flare mentioned that due to avoid talking about dad though, and he decided to fill him in on it. "Between you and me, I think I got my habit of birds loving me from dad. (Flare looks at Marshall) Every day he'd go to the pet store and the birds there loved him. He even showed us pictures!" Flare was glad to hear more about his father. He also knew that today would lead to an interesting conversation for later. After all, today was the day for their weekly event.
Flare and Marshall were currently using their laptop to speak to their mom as they told her about the day they had while Flare ate some cheese powdered chips. Marshall of course did most of the talking, but he let Flare speak every now and then. "And then I flipped my helmet off of my head just in time and used it to catch Fuzzy before he fell! His flock had to leave after that, but I have one of his feathers to remember him by, so it all works out."
Flare and Marshall's mother loved hearing her sons talk about their time in the Paw Patrol. She just couldn't help smiling upon seeing her children. She could also see that Marshall has adjusted much better than she initially thought. "It seems like you two had a good time with that little gosling. I would've loved to have seen some pictures of you having fun with him."
"It's just too bad we couldn't keep him." Flare said before scarfing down the rest of his Cheddar Bombs, and then he led out a cheese scented burp, causing him to giggle and cover his mouth. "Sorry." Marshall then handed Flare a napkin to wipe his hands, which he started doing. "Thanks Marshall. And speaking of birds actually, Marshall told me dad was a big bird person before he died."
"He certainly was." The mom replied happily. She then looked to her sons and spoke up about something regarding their dad's love for birds. "That's obviously something Marshall inherited from him. I bet that gosling couldn't stay away from him."
Flare and Marshall laughed a bit in response to that before Marshall looked up to his right ear, which was the one he put Fuzzy's feather into. "I know it'll still be that way when we see him again." Flare then wrapped his arm around Marshall, who happily rubbed his head. Even though Fuzzy was gone for now, he always had Flare to brighten up his day. And luckily for him, Flare's smile was enough to help pretty much anyone beam with happiness, good mood or bad.
Soft piano music started playing as the night sky was shown with the scene then descending to the cliff at the edge of the Paw Patrol lookout's standing as Flare walked over to it. Flare then sat down and looked at the stars as he thought about the pups in the Paw Patrol with a female voice singing Risks Worth Taking. He first thought about Snow. "This world has so much in it, that I have yet to see. And I have to be ready for how to act upon it, whatever it may be. (Flare starts thinking about Chase) I've made so many great friends, since I came to Adventure Bay. And when I start to help with missions, that will certainly be my day."
The song continued as Flare started to think about Rocky. "When things get good, and when they get bad, I hope they know that I have their back. There will be times where I make mistakes, but I'll work to get back on track. (Flare starts thinking about Zuma) There's no such thing as a chosen one, or any of that destiny stuff. I have to work to help this world, and that doesn't mean I get all buff."
Flare then started thinking about Skye as the song continued. "If I fall down, I'll just get right back up, and I'll prove to them that I'm a strong pup; and that I won't let the danger I face make me freeze and start shaking." Marshall then came up to Flare as the song continued and sat down next to him and rubbed his head. "And even if there are times when I struggle, I knooow..." Flare then yawned with Marshall smiling as he went back home with him to get him ready for bed. "that there are risks worth taking."
