Paw Patrol X

New Recruits arc Episode eleven: Zuma's Birthday Disaster

The Paw Patrol were currently setting up Zuma's surprise birthday party at the beach, his favorite spot in Adventure Bay. Everyone was making sure it was all perfect for his tenth birthday. Rocky especially was determined to get it right, making sure everything was according to structure; hence why he was frustrated with the design of the cake Mr. Porter gave him. "No, no, no! Zuma's favorite animal is dolphins; not sharks! He likes sharks too and you at least remembered to make it coconut, but the animal on top needs to be a dolphin; please, fix it!"

"Right away!" Mr. Porter responded, and he happily took the cake and rushed back to his restaurant with it. He didn't mind having to remake it. He loved baking, and he loved making people happy. He also understood that Rocky was a perfectionist.

Rocky then went to inspect the party decorations to make sure that the three setting them up, Flare, Snow, and Skye, were doing it right. "You three doing okay?"

"I guess." Snow admitted, still not being sure about how this was supposed to work as she held Skye's ladder up for her. "I don't know anything about this stuff."

Chase and Marshall were setting up the party games as they set up the volleyball court onto the beach sand. As they were making sure the net was secure however, Marshall lost his footing on the ladder he was on and fell down on one of the backup poles Rocky had them bring. This caused him to cry out, which caught everyone else's attention as Chase ran after him and Marshall ended up rolling over to them on the pole. "Guys; look out!"

Luckily, Richie was holding onto Flare's ladder, and while he was texting Ryder to see when he would arrive with Zuma, he caught Marshall after the latter stopped rolling on the pole and got lunged forward. Richie managed to catch him, and this led to him setting Marshall down as Chase ran over to see if he was okay. "You okay buddy?"

"Yeah, I'm fine." Marshall then laughed a bit, before making a pun that caused the annoyance of the others. "Sorry pups. Guess the waves aren't the only things crashing this party today."

"Marshall!"

The rest of the pups got back to what they were doing while laughing about the mishap Marshall almost had, and Richie got a text saying they'd be there in ten minutes. That was thankfully enough time to set things up.

Fire blazed over the screen as moments from the season one were shown and rock music started playing and the one who was playing the guitar started singing Help The World. The first scene that was shown involved Flare watching Chase and Marshall in action during the fire. "There's a team of dogs who never back down from any danger." The scene then changed to Richie shooting at Charm's minions to disarm them, killing one who gets too close to a human. "Their mission is to help people, no matter how minor or major."

The scene then changed to Ryder standing tall as he leads some of the members through what looks like a forest they were sent to for a mission. "The leader Ryder takes these dogs in so they can help in any way they can." The scene then changed to Flare putting the daisy in his flower, just like he did in the third part of the pilot. "A means to prove yourself, or saving them from a bad life, it's all part of his plan!"

Chase comes on screen and is shown bragging proudly about himself as he arrested someone."Chase!" A two second riff played before showing Skye performing a triple backflip and barking to turn on her wings and fly up. "Skye!" A two second riff played before showing Zuma surfing and looking to see if the others were watching him. "Zuma!" A two second riff played before showing Rocky inventing some kind of defense weapon while paying the maximum attention to every detail. "Rocky!" A two second riff played before showing Snow snatching a gun from one of Charm's soldiers as soon as they aim it at her and aiming it back at theim. "Snow!"

A two second riff played before showing Marshall climbing up a ladder to save someone as he breathed to himself while trying desperately to keep his cool. "Marshall!"

"My, bro-ther!"

Flare was then shown to be training in the Paw Patrol lair as he blocked a robot's kicks and punches before kicking his head off. "I may not be a member but I'll be useful however I can!" The scene then changed to Flare holding Snow's paw as the two of them are seemingly running away from something dangerous. "Even if it's a side mission I'll help the world as long as I stand!" The scene then changed to Flare meeting Charm as the Golden Retriever walks over to him with a cold glare and menacing scowl, making Flare back away slowly. "The Paw Patrol is on a roll, no matter how badly the danger's swirled!"

The scene then changed to Flare standing with the Paw Patrol, as Marshall rubs Flare's head, Snow smiles to Flare, Rocky blushes when Zuma gives him a sly grin, Chase gives a wink to Skye, who giggles about the gesture, Richie puts his guns away and looks on with determination, and Ryder crosses his arms and gives a confident smile. "My brother is a member of their team now...(The riff continues for three seconds uninterrupted) and I'm always ready to (Flare gives a cheerful smile and gives a peace sign to the audience with his eyes closed and his eyes giving a teeth smile) help the world."

The riff continued for about five more seconds before slowing down and giving one final riff with the title Paw Patrol X being shown on screen with Paw Patrol in white and the X in red. As soon as the riff slowed down, Flare was shown hanging up a picture that showed exactly what everyone was doing before the song ended, revealing it to have been a group photo.

Ryder was currently on his way to the beach with a blindfolded Zuma sitting on his lap as he drove there on his ATV. Zuma did remember it was his birthday today, but he knew the team was doing everything they could to make his party happen, so he decided to play along for now. "Gee Wyder. I can't imagine why you put a blindfold on me on my biwthday."

Ryder laughed a bit, knowing that Zuma was just playing along. He appreciated the effort, even though he knew Zuma was gonna be unsurprised at the end of it. "Don't worry Zuma. We'll be at our destination soon." Zuma was glad to hear that. He wanted to finally take his blindfold off. Just then, Ryder stopped by the beach. "See? We're here."

"Finally." Zuma sighed with relief as he got off Ryder's ATV, and then Ryder guided him to the beach entrance. "So what now."

Ryder got a look around and saw everyone else waiting for Zuma to take his blindfold off, glad that they were all ready for the surprise. "Just take your blindfold off, and see what's in front of you."

Zuma did so, and when he did, he saw the rest of his friends in front of him with Rocky in front of them all as they all exclaimed 'Surprise!' in the sight of their friend. Zuma knew this was happening, but he was still eternally grateful for what his friends were doing for him. Although the pups were a little disappointed by their failure, they were still happy to do this for Zuma, and Rocky was quick to inform Flare and Marshall about why it failed. "Yeah, it's pretty hard to surprise Zuma."

"Believe it or not, Wyder did that by recwuiting me." Zuma admitted, and then he winked to Rocky, who blushed. Zuma knew he did most of the work for him.

Flare then got excited and grabbed Zuma's paw, excited to do some of the party stuff with him. "You wanna play Volleyball with me? I never played before and Rocky said you were an expert!"

"Suwe; I'm down." Zuma agreed, and Flare pumped his fist as he pulled Flare and Zuma to the volleyball court. This caused Rocky to laugh as he followed them, while the others went over to watch.

Five minutes after Zuma arrived at the beach, the volleyball went into the air and covered the sun, and a shot of Zuma jumping up was then shown before he slammed the volleyball towards the ground. Marshall was about to hit it back, only for him to trip on his own two feet, leading to the ball landing right in front of him. He laughed it off as Flare helped him up however, and Zuma and Rocky went over to them and fist bumped them as Zuma spoke up. "Good game dudes. Not too bad for beginnews."

Marshall of course, had a pun built for this kind of situation. "We would've gotten more than one point, but my sports skills aren't volley balling to say the least."

"Marshall!"

Flare, Zuma, and Rocky laughed as the four pups then walked over to do some more stuff as Zuma spoke up. "Maybe I can give you some pwo tips to make it happen."

Skye and Snow were on the dance floor, and Snow was currently struggling to keep up with Skye's moves. She was the second best dancer behind Zuma, and it showed as she kept showing off as Snow was starting to get frustrated. "Ugh! I don't know if anyone out there says girls are meant for dancing, but they're so clearly full of it."

"If it helps, there is ONE move I still can't quite get down." Skye brought up, and in an attempt to cheer Snow up, she got onto her tail and giggled as she got started. "Tailspin!" Snow stopped dancing and watched in an instant. She just had to see this. As Skye began her Tailspin, "And spin!"...

Chase was shown examining Richie's guns, as he had them specially crafted for when he and Rocky, and Zuma joined the team. "I knew we were gonna face some hard battles, so I crafted them with some special demonic rocks for extra defense and attack."

Chase was fascinated by this, but as he was looking at the guns, Skye accidentally crashed into him from the dance floor and this led to the two of them rolling in the sand for a bit. Skye ended up being on top, and the two of them blushed bright red due to how close their mouths were. After a couple seconds, the two nervously giggled and Skye got off of Chase. "Sorry Chase. Still working on getting my tailspin down."

"Ya mean like that?" Chase gestured to the dance floor, where Zuma was showing off his Tailspin, which he'd already mastered by that point. Skye was impressed, and Chase assured Skye that she would learn eventually. "You'll get it one day. I think Zuma just got it down easier because he's a master at dancing."

Skye giggled a bit, unable to argue with that. Zuma had plenty of skills that showed him off as the best dancer of the team. "He definitely shows it in spades." Zuma continued his tailspin with Rocky shown cheering him on, being ecstatic to see the Chocolate Labrador successfully pulling off a Tailspin.

The Paw Patrol were getting ready to blow out Zuma's cake, which thankfully had a dolphin on top of it this time. Rocky was quick to point out the trouble he went through to get this right. "And of course the first cake just had to NOT have a dolphin on it, so thankfully, the party games were enough to keep you busy until the make up cake got here."

Zuma couldn't help but laugh at Rocky's efficiency. As annoying as his perfectionism could get, it did have its uses. "You weally went all out for me this yeaw, didn't you."

Rocky blushed and started to gay panic a bit, which the others instantly took notice to. "It was a team effort really. I just didn't wanna risk anything going wrong. That's okay, right?"

Zuma nodded his head yes with snickering a bit, but as he was about to blow out his cake and make a wish, Flare spoke up. "Wait!" Everyone's attention was now on Flare, who put his paws on Zuma's shoulders before speaking up to him. "Hear me out Zuma. (Points to the presents) Open your presents first."

Zuma got a look at the presents, and opening them was pretty tempting. He was confused about why Flare suggested it though. "That's pretty tempting, but why do you cawe which one I do fiwst?"

"Well you don't know what you got, right?" Flare explained, and Zuma nodded his head yes as Flare then got to the point of it. "Well if you didn't get what you want, then you can use the cake to blow out your candles and get what you wanted!"

Zuma thought about what Flare was getting at and couldn't help but love his plan. "That's actually a good idea Flawe. Good on you." Flare giggled a bit as the team then went over to Zuma's presents with Ryder covering the cake to make sure it was safe from being taken.

Near the beach however, Bloodfreak was standing on top of a roof as he spied on the Paw Patrol. He then touched an earpiece, and Charm was shown tasting a drink that a Yorkshire Terrier made for him. He then spit it out when he caught a hair in it, and then insulted the Yorkshire Terrier who made it. "Beverly, right? Well change it to Hairverly, because this drink sucks!" Charm threw the glass at Beverly, enraging her as Charm then held her from jumping over the counter and answered Bloodfreak's call. "What do you want Bloodfreak? I'm busy putting your incompetent bartender in her place!"

"Hey; she earns her keep." Bloodfreak reminded Charm, and then he got to the point. "You promised us the best location to relocate us if we got you Zuma, right? You'd better own up to your end of the deal."

Charm gave a devilish grin and made sure to hide it from anyone else. It was very clear he didn't intend to keep his promise. "But of course." Charm ended the call and punched Beverly before sitting down on the desk. "What's the deal with that 'don't hit women' rule anyway? My idea of gender equality is getting to start a fight with anyone, anywhere."

The pups were now opening up Zuma's last present, which was from Rocky, since he knew Rocky's was gonna be the best. It was small, but that didn't stop Zuma. And when he opened it, he saw that it was a locket of some kind. He wondered what was in it, and he opened it after pressing the button to find that it was of him and Rocky having a fun time at what looked like the carnival. Rocky then stood next to Zuma as he explained it. "That's from the day after we joined the team. Pretty convenient that the carnival was being set up in town right at that time."

Zuma loved the day Rocky took this picture on. It was the first time in a while he just spent the day with someone he cared about closely. He put the locket around his neck after closing it and looked at Rocky with a beaming smile. "Thanks Wocky. You couldn't have picked a better day to get the pictuwe in this fwom." Rocky smiled back and was glad that Zuma loved his gift. That was the day the two of them both knew that they had feelings for each other. If only they both knew the feeling was mutual.

The Paw Patrol were getting ready to head home as Flare, being Flare, got his third portion of Zuma's cake as the Chocolate Labrador admired his new locket. As he did this, Rocky pointed out something he forgot to mention during the party. "Oh, I forgot to bring this up earlier, but I also put a super small tracking button on the back of the locket." Zuma looked on the back of the locket and could barely see the button. "The size is so only observant people can see it. And it's there in case anyone tries to hurt you."

Zuma was glad Rocky was looking out for him, but he did have to quesiton his methods while smiling. "Thanks, but you may not wanna tell Chase about this. It sounds pwetty stalkewish."

"Hehe, yeah; I figured it would give that vibe to some." Rocky admitted bashfully. "That's why I told you before it could be used." Zuma took note of that, and then he saw over the beach fence, a familiar looking Border Collie and started to show panic in his eyes. This caught Rocky's attention, and he started to worry. "Zuma? You okay?"

"Yeah, I'm fine. Tell Wyder I'll be right back." Zuma ran off with Rocky being concerned as the Chocolate Labrador went over to Chase, who had just finished putting away the volleyball stuff with Marshall. "Chase; I think I saw someone spying on us. You mind coming with me to check it out?"

Chase saw the worry in Zuma's eyes and knew this was serious. He nodded in response and looked to Marshall after that. "I'll be back soon Marshall. Let Ryder know about this so then he can act upon it in case we're gone for too long. I'll call him if anything happens"

"Okay!" Marshall gleefully responded, and then he went off to tell Ryder as Chase and Zuma headed out to see what the latter saw.

When they got up to the sidewalk near the beach, Zuma looked around frantically, and Chase could see he was scared. He went to console him about it, but before he could, Zuma saw the Border Collie from behind a truck and hid before he could see him and whispered to Chase. "He's behind this twuck." Chase took note of that and went to check it out upon Zuma's signal, only for the Border Collie to be gone right as he did. He knew Zuma wasn't pranking him, but as he looked back, he heard his voice. "Chase! Help!"

Chase looked up and found Bloodfreak holding Zuma in a headlock "Zuma!", much to his panic as he immediately jumped onto the truck in an attempt to fight back. "Let my friend go!" Chase dodged Bloodfreak's kick and punched him in the gut, making him let go of Zuma and then kicked him off the truck. He then lunged down to Bloodfreak in an attempt to arrest him, knowing exactly what he was planning on doing. "Sir, you are under arrest for attempted kidnapping of a minor Canine!"

"You'll have to catch me again first." Bloodfreak taunted, confusing Zuma as Bloodfreak then clicked up a flash grenade from his pocket and blinded Chase and Zuma, making sure to close his own eyes to avoid being caught. Chase wiped his eyes to improve his vision, but then he saw Zuma being thrown into the back of Bloodfreak's car. There, he tried to shoot the tires to stop them as he pulled out his gun, only for Bloodfreak to press a button as soon as he got into the driver's seat that made them immune to bullets. With that, he took off in an instant.

Chase was starting to have another Heroic BSOD moment, but this was much greater. This was at the possible cost of his friend's life; and him failing to notice the flash grenade could've caused that to happen! But he knew he had to act fast and called Ryder with determination in his voice. "Ryder! I just saw Zuma get taken by a Border Collie!" Ryder was shown on the other end becoming horrified by what Chase just told him. "I think it was the guy he saw and wanted me to inspect the situation with!"

"Wait right there! Then we'll all get in our vehicles and go after him!" Ryder informed Chase, and then he hung up to inform the others.

Ryder had told the other pups about what happened, and Rocky was currently telling him about what he put on Zuma's locket, which he now saw the use for. "Let's hope that tracker isn't found. We gotta save Zuma!" Rocky nodded and activated the tracker with a remote, and a button on it started beeping. The speed of the beeping would indicate how close Zuma was to them.

Flare was hopping into Marshall's fire truck, but his big brother instinct came in and he told Flare not to come. "Flare, stay at the lookout. We'll be back soon."

"No way! I'm coming too!" Flare hopped into the passanger seat of Marshall's truck, and Marshall was about to insist that he stay, but was stopped by Flare putting his seatbelt on. "If I can do something to help save Zuma, it's worth it. I can't stay behind knowing he's in trouble."

Marshall saw the nobility and bravery in Marshall's voice and sighed. He knew he wasn't gonna be able to convince Flare otherwise and gave a smirk in response to it. "I can't talk you outta this, can I." Marshall hopped in and put his seatbelt on as he gave Flare instructions on what to do. "Just please, for the love of God, don't get involved in the fighting unless you absolutely have to."

Flare nodded in response and fist bumped Marshall with Ryder singaling the rest of the team to move out. "Move out pups! Paw Patrol is on a roll!" And with that, the team set out to save Zuma. Rocky looked at his tracker with desperation and fear. Zuma was the last member of the team he wanted to lose, and he wanted to make sure he wouldn't.

About a half hour after Zuma was captured, a warehouse in Adventure Bay was revealed, and the dark inside was shown before a light turned on and revealed a tied up and squirming Zuma. He was blindfolded again, and as he called out, he sounded vicious and angry. "Let me go Bloodfweak! I sold your money while I was on the wun, so you can't have it!"

Just then, the paw of a Golden Retriever pulled off the blindfold, and we then saw Zuma's point of view as he saw what was going on. Charm had gotten Bloodfreak to work for him of all pups! The fear in Zuma's panting as soon as he saw this as well as the fear in his eyes, it was all too apparent for Charm, who was all gleeful about the situation. He was even more happy to explain it to him. "I believe you recognize this dog. The one who gave you the nickname, Lispy?" Zuma barked upon hearing that nickname and Charm laughed gleefully upon seeing it. "Ooh, I touched a nerve!"

Zuma then noticed that Bloodfreak was holding a bat and feared what he was going to do. Charm then cut to the chase after hitting Zuma in the jaw and making him wince. "You will hit Zuma with this bat until I get bored of watching him in pain, which will most likely be when he's dead. After that, I'll help your gang."

Bloodfreak seemed a little skeptical about hurting Zuma as he showed remorse for what he was about to do. If it weren't for Charm, he probably would've left Zuma alone entirely. "Believe it or not kid, I don't care about the money. I just have to help my gang."

"Fu-" Zuma was about to shout, only for Bloodfreak to hit him in the stomach with the bat, making him cough in response. It didn't hurt as hard as some of the other hits would, but the next shot revealed his enraged face as he glared at Bloodfreak and spit at his foot before finishing his wording with a cold voice, full of hate and malice. "You."

The Paw Patrol were still tracking Zuma down, and Rocky's tracker revealed that they were close by. It beeped the hardest at the same warehouse Zuma was taken to and Rocky signaled Ryder to turn, which he did and the team went into the warehouse with Flare questioning the location. "That's weird. Why didn't he take Zuma to the water park?"

Rocky started to panic as Marshall explained why that wouldn't work. "Even if he wanted to, Adventure Bay doesn't have a water park. Not yet anyway."

Rocky suddenly jumped out of his truck and ran towards the warehouse, alerting everyone as Ryder called out to him. "Rocky, wait!"

Rocky started inspecting the warehouse and inspected the entire building at light-speed. He had the entire route memorized from the get-go and acted on it. First, he darted to the right of the warehouse and started climbing up the ladder that led to the top. Luckily, Ryder knew the route as well, since Rocky was as smart as he was. When he caught up to Rocky, who was on the stand of the third floor, he made it quick, but assuring, that Rocky bolting off was risky. "Listen Rocky; I know you want to save Zuma, but we can't just rush into stuff like this. You know that."

"Yeah, that's great Ryder; let me think." Rocky dismissed Ryder and looked into the room, panicking as he saw Zuma getting beaten. Ryder took notice to this as well as Rocky then punched the window open. This surprised Ryder, since Rocky usually wasn't this violent, but Rocky was sure to let him know he knew what he was doing. "I got this!" Ryder saw that the door was bolted shut and jumped out onto one of the bars and started balancing on it. Then he gave a call to Chase to fill him in on the plan.

Rocky was quick to pull out one of his gadgets and aim it at Bloodfreak, just before he had a chance to hit Zuma in the skull. "PUT IT DOWN!" Rocky's furious shout echoed throughout the warehouse and caught the attention of everyone. Rocky was able to hold in his emotions until now, but seeing Zuma getting beaten like that made him beyond enraged. He didn't even care that Charm was right there; his only priority right no was saving Zuma. "I don't care who you are, or why you're doing this! Put that bat down right now and let Zuma go!"

Bloodfreak scoffed, calling Rocky's bluff before Rocky activated his gadget. This let out an electric spark that also slammed him towards Charm the ceiling, where he got stuck. This gadget may have been in the shape of a slightly bigger taser, but with Rocky's modifications, he managed to make it into something greater. Charm then sighed, being bored by what ruined his fun. "And my brother ruins things again. Welp; ya bored me. I'll be back to kill you when I feel like it again. (Looks at the audience) And don't whine about this; I could kill him if it interested me."

Rocky charged at Charm, who roundhouse kicked him to the side and then grappling hooked to the sunroof as Bloodfreak called out to him. "Wait; you're just gonna leave me and my gang here to die!?"

"Whether or not you live, I don't care." Charm admitted, being glad that he just got the gang out of the picture. "I only offered to help you because I knew you would get in the way of my plans if you discovered them and possibly get some boring redemption arc." Charm cackled evilly a bit as he then taunted Bloodfreak. "And now I'm off to continue working on my master plan to rule everything and cause chaos for my own amusement. Have fun!"

Charm escaped with Ryder coming down as Rocky started untying Zuma, calling Chase to go through with the plan as he helped inspect his wounds. "Chase! Let the plan commence!"

Chase was outside and nodded to Ryder before starting up his truck and making it clear that he was ready to ran into the warehouse. "Pups, charge in!" Chase floored it on his truck and since he was first in line, he rammed right into the door of the warehouse. The other pups joined him and helped him ram it down, which sent it flying past Ryder, Rocky, and Zuma. Luckily, the door went high enough to avoid hurting them as he then made a remark that he thought sounded cool in his head. "Ma'am, say whatever you want. I have a warrant."

Chase then hopped out of the truck and saw that Zuma was injured with Rocky trying to keep him awake. He'd been hit with the bat at least seven times, five times in the waist, and twice in one of his legs. The others noticed this too with Chase bolting over to him and kneeling down to him. He started to beat himself up about it too. If he'd just acted more quickly, maybe he could've stopped this. "Zuma. I'm sorry; I should've been faster. If I was then I could've-"

"Don't beat youwself up so bad dude." Zuma assured Chase, even though he ended up wincing as he tried to stand up. This alerted everyone that he was deeply injured, and Marshall was starting to panic from the pressure again, especially when the other gang mambers came out to fight. Rocky suddenly went into a blind fury and lunged at them, leaving Snow and Skye to join in and help take them down. Marshall started panting heavily and sat down while curling up into a ball, and Flare tried to help him snap out of it as Rocky punched the face in on one of the gang members.

Chase was fending off against three rough Doberman teens, and he was being held by one of them. Little did they know that Chase was the best in combat out of the pups on the team. He head-butted the Doberman who was holding him with his back and grabbed the kick of another, throwing him into the other Doberman, who ducked as the other one was sent flying. Chase then blocked his kick before smacking him tot he ground with a karate chop and downward kick.

Flare was continuing to try and calm Marshall down, and Marshall then looked at the paw he gave the scar to. That instantly calmed him down and reminded him of the promise he made to himself, and everyone around him. He wasn't goin to run away this time. He still needed to breathe a little more, but Flare knew he was helping. He didn't mind the extra time needed either. One of your friends being risked for death is torture compared to dealing with a fire. Flare then ran over to Rocky when he noticed what he was doing and pulled him off of the Chow Chow he was beating up.

The Chow Chow was almost dead, and Flare was horrified of what killing him could do to Rocky, and the Chow Chow. "Rocky, snap out of it!" Rocky knocked Flare to the ground without thinking, not by hitting him, but by shoving him from behind. When he looked back and saw what he did, he started to calm down, realizing that Flare was genuinely worried about him. He then looked at his paw and became shocked. He wasn't usually a fighter, but now he'd almost killed a Chow Chow out of pure rage over what the gang's leader did to Zuma. And he took some of it on Flare to boot.

Flare didn't care about being shoved to the ground however. He knew that Rocky wasn't thinking straight before he stepped in. He just stood up and looked at Rocky, as he knew that helping Zuma was the top priority. "We gotta help Zuma."

Rocky nodded in understanding, and as Richie got Bloodfreak down from the roof, Chase took care of the rest of the Doberman with Snow and Skye doing a tag-team takedown Beverly. The group then ran over to Zuma with Chase giving orders to the pups to keep them in line, knowing that Ryder was on a call with Katie so he could get Zuma some medical help. "Skye; Snow; keep the Dobermen detained until I get over there!" Snow and Skye did as requested and Chase then turned to Rocky. "Rocky, keep an eye on Zuma with Ryder! I'm gonna deal with their leader with Richie!"

Rocky nodded in response as Chase then looked to Flare and Marshall and the latter tried to apologize for freezing up. "I'm sorry Chase. I know it was to help Zuma, but I couldn't help-"

Chase didn't care about Marshall freezing up, and was just worried about helping Zuma, giving his order to Marshall and sounding more authorative than expected. "Shut up and go get some ice! There's a convinience store on this block; just start driving and turn right!"

"On it!" Marshall ran towards his fire truck and took off to get the ice, being desperate to help Zuma in any way he could.

Flare wanted to help too, asking Chase if there was anything he could do. "I wanna help Zuma too. Just give me the word and I'm there."

"Just make sure to keep Zuma from getting as messed up as I am right now. You seem to be good at making people smile." Chase ordered, and Flare nodded before running over to Zuma with Chase running over to Blood freak. When Richie gave him to Chase, he punched the Border Collie in the face as hard as he could, sending him to the ground. He then stomped on the Border Collie and spoke in an aggressive manner, one much more than Flare and Marshall had seen before. "Now I can add kidnapping and torture to your crime list! Squirm and I'll add resisting arrest too!"

Chase grabbed the arms of the Border Collie and started arresting him with Bloodfreak wishing he could take back trusting Charm. "You have the right to remain silent! Anything you say can and will be used against you in the court of law!"

As Chase read Bloodfreak his Miranda Rights, Flare tried to help Zuma feel better. He noticed that he was messed up, and that Rocky was on the verge of tears. He decided that the best move was to check up on Zuma. "You... wanna maybe play video games when we get back? You can pick."

"Thanks Flawe, but I'd pwobably just wage at whatever we played." Zuma replied bluntly, and then he calmed down and spoke to Flare about what he saw. "I think it's best I tell you and Mawshall evewything when we get back to the Lookout. You desewve to know why this happened, and you have to hear it fwom me." Flare understood what Zuma was talking about and then noticed Chase beating himself up mentally. That also made himself worried as Zuma then explained it. "Dude beats himself up whenever he screws up. This must've hit him hawd."

"Every time?" Flare asked, and Zuma could only nod his head yes. This worried Flare, and then he tried to get more context as to why it was like that. "But why? It's not HIS fault that dude with the bat teamed up with Charm to break you." Zuma could only shrug. Why Chase had these moments was a mystery to him. Rocky was even more broken up however. Zuma's current state was messing with his mind. And it was his own family who did this to him. The only thing he could think about that could make this better was one goal on his mind.

He had to stop his brother.

Soft piano music started playing as the night sky was shown with the scene then descending to the cliff at the edge of the Paw Patrol lookout's standing as Flare walked over to it. Flare then sat down and looked at the stars as he thought about the pups in the Paw Patrol with a female voice singing Risks Worth Taking. He first thought about Snow. "This world has so much in it, that I have yet to see. And I have to be ready for how to act upon it, whatever it may be. (Flare starts thinking about Chase) I've made so many great friends, since I came to Adventure Bay. And when I start to help with missions, that will certainly be my day."

The song continued as Flare started to think about Rocky. "When things get good, and when they get bad, I hope they know that I have their back. There will be times where I make mistakes, but I'll work to get back on track. (Flare starts thinking about Zuma) There's no such thing as a chosen one, or any of that destiny stuff. I have to work to help this world, and that doesn't mean I get all buff."

Flare then started thinking about Skye as the song continued. "If I fall down, I'll just get right back up, and I'll prove to them that I'm a strong pup; and that I won't let the danger I face make me freeze and start shaking." Marshall then came up to Flare as the song continued and sat down next to him and rubbed his head. "And even if there are times when I struggle, I knooow..."
