Disclaimer: Okay, real talk; I had a blast writing this arc. I wanted to write it for the longest time, and I think it gives Zuma much more attention than the show gives him. And if you guys wanna see more chapters where Zuma revisits his past, let me know.

Also, I don't own Paw Patrol.

Update: Fixed Paleclaw's pronounes to fit with Zuma's First Month.

Paw Patrol X

New Recruits arc Episode twelve: Rocky's Motivation! Don't Lose Zuma!

Marshall was currently in line with the bag of ice he'd gotten for Zuma, and was desperate to get back to the team. Before he was up however, he reached into his back pocket (Don't ask how he has that if he doesn't wear pants) and realized he forgot to take one crucial thing with him: Money. He then decided to ask the people in front of him to pay for his ice. He didn't care how embarrassing it was; his pride was the last thing he cared about. And as he spoke, the African American male looked at him. "Officer? Could you pay for my ice please? I forgot to bring my wallet."

The man didn't want to upset Marshall, since he was a cop himself, hence the uniform. But he still had to put his family first. "Sorry kid, I don't think I can afford to-"

Marshall didn't give one ounce of care for his dignity by this point, so he got onto his knees and started begging the officer to help him. "Please; my friend needs it! He got captured by some psycho who beat him up and he could die any minute! (The cop flinches and takes out his wallet) I have to get this back to my team!"

"Put his ice on my tab."

Marshall looked up and saw the cop paying for his ice. He was relieved. He started wagging his tail as he picked the ice up and thanks the officer. "Thank you so much officer! I promise I'll pay you back!"

"You can do that right now by doing one thing for me." The officer stated aloud, confusing Marshall for a bit as he gave a confused bark. The officer then tilted his hat up as he stated what he wanted Marshall to do for him. "Take me to your friend."

Fire blazed over the screen as moments from the season one were shown and rock music started playing and the one who was playing the guitar started singing Help The World. The first scene that was shown involved Flare watching Chase and Marshall in action during the fire. "There's a team of dogs who never back down from any danger." The scene then changed to Richie shooting at Charm's minions to disarm them, killing one who gets too close to a human. "Their mission is to help people, no matter how minor or major."

The scene then changed to Ryder standing tall as he leads some of the members through what looks like a forest they were sent to for a mission. "The leader Ryder takes these dogs in so they can help in any way they can." The scene then changed to Flare putting the daisy in his flower, just like he did in the third part of the pilot. "A means to prove yourself, or saving them from a bad life, it's all part of his plan!"

Chase comes on screen and is shown bragging proudly about himself as he arrested someone."Chase!" A two second riff played before showing Skye performing a triple backflip and barking to turn on her wings and fly up. "Skye!" A two second riff played before showing Zuma surfing and looking to see if the others were watching him. "Zuma!" A two second riff played before showing Rocky inventing some kind of defense weapon while paying the maximum attention to every detail. "Rocky!" A two second riff played before showing Snow snatching a gun from one of Charm's soldiers as soon as they aim it at her and aiming it back at theim. "Snow!"

A two second riff played before showing Marshall climbing up a ladder to save someone as he breathed to himself while trying desperately to keep his cool. "Marshall!"

"My, bro-ther!"

Flare was then shown to be training in the Paw Patrol lair as he blocked a robot's kicks and punches before kicking his head off. "I may not be a member but I'll be useful however I can!" The scene then changed to Flare holding Snow's paw as the two of them are seemingly running away from something dangerous. "Even if it's a side mission I'll help the world as long as I stand!" The scene then changed to Flare meeting Charm as the Golden Retriever walks over to him with a cold glare and menacing scowl, making Flare back away slowly. "The Paw Patrol is on a roll, no matter how badly the danger's swirled!"

The scene then changed to Flare standing with the Paw Patrol, as Marshall rubs Flare's head, Snow smiles to Flare, Rocky blushes when Zuma gives him a sly grin, Chase gives a wink to Skye, who giggles about the gesture, Richie puts his guns away and looks on with determination, and Ryder crosses his arms and gives a confident smile. "My brother is a member of their team now...(The riff continues for three seconds uninterrupted) and I'm always ready to (Flare gives a cheerful smile and gives a peace sign to the audience with his eyes closed and his eyes giving a teeth smile) help the world."

The riff continued for about five more seconds before slowing down and giving one final riff with the title Paw Patrol X being shown on screen with Paw Patrol in white and the X in red. As soon as the riff slowed down, Flare was shown hanging up a picture that showed exactly what everyone was doing before the song ended, revealing it to have been a group photo.

Rocky was sitting next to Zuma as he thought about what happened, and how he could've lost Zuma if he didn't act fast. The thought of losing Zuma horrified him beyond all belief. He would've been horrified to lose any of his friends, but Zuma was someone he had deep, intimate feelings for. He would never wish ill will towards him, if anyone. Zuma was thankfully still awake and conscious, but this event clearly effected him in a negative way. Just then, he heard Marshall's voice as he hopped out of truck. "Ice!"

Rocky rushed over to Marshall, who suddenly tripped and dropped the ice right before the cop came out. This led to Marshall getting more scared as he desperately tried to pick it up. "Crap; crap; crap!" Rocky and the cop helped Marshall with the ice, since the bag broke and dropped some of it.

While the ice was being brought over, Flare kept his optimistic smile as he tried to cheer Zuma up. "And maybe when your injuries are better you can show me some of your cool surfing moves."

Zuma smiled at the thought of that. He just hoped he'd be in the right state of mind to do it. "It would be cool to see a Dalmatian suwfing."

Marshall, Rocky, and the cop arrived with the ice as Rocky took some of it out and wrapped it up in a cloth to put on Zuma's wounds. The cop went to check for one of Zuma's wounds to help along with Flare and Marshall, but Zuma's PTSD triggered when he saw him. "Okay kid, let's-"

"DON'T TOUCH ME!" Zuma snapped as he swatted the cop's paw away, and then he blurted out the reason he did so. "It's cops who took my pawents fwom me! I suffewed for yeaws because of you! Chase is the only one of you cops who cawed about me!"

The cop was shocked by Zuma's outburst, but he was also sympathetic, as he knew there were some bad cops out there. He simply picked the ice back up and handed it to Marshall to put onto Zuma. "I see you've met some of the bad ones. (Zuma crosses his arms and looks away) You don't have to trust me, but I won't try to hurt you." The cop went over to arrest the gang members Skye and Snow were taking care of, since he was aware of the Paw Patrol and knew they wouldn't pin them down without a reason.

Chase was simply sitting in the corner contemplating the situation, as he felt guilty for letting this happen to Zuma, even though what happened technically wasn't his fault. Ryder kneeled down to him and put a paw on his shoulder, assuring him that he wasn't to blame for what happened. "No one blames you for this Chase. We know you did everything you could to help Zuma."

"And yet he still got captured." Chase responded, sounding completely distraught about what happened; both because Zuma was severely hurt, and because he felt responsible for the event. "If I noticed that stupid flash grenade everything would've been fine. It's all because I didn't bother to see if he was wearing a weapon belt."

Ryder simply sat next to Chase and tried to help him with his Heroic BSOD attack. He knew this was a frequent thing for Chase, and that this was one of the worst cases he's had. "Tell ya what. When we get back to the lookout, I can find you a pair of my headphones and play that song you like that always calms you down. (Chase looks at Ryder) The last thing I'd want is for you to start ignoring your health, both mentally and physically."

Chase did like the sound of that, but he still felt bad about Zuma's situation. He still couldn't help blaming himself for what happened. "That would help." Ryder was well aware of this too. And he knew the best he could do to help him, was all he could do.

The Paw Patrol were at the animal hospital (which was the vet, but animal hospital sounds better), and were anticipating when Zuma was gonna come out. Marshall then spoke up, feeling that he didn't know how to lighten up the mood right now. Since he was sitting next to Rocky, he decided to start a conversation with him about it. "I... don't know any hospital puns."

"Honestly, that might be a good thing." Rocky admitted, leaving them to laugh a bit as Rocky then spoke up about what happened. "I just hope Zuma's okay. And I'm gonna do everything I can to help him." Marshall took notice to Rocky's serious tone as Rocky made sure he was quiet enough to not alret the others. "I'm done letting Charm being my brother get in the way Marshall. I'm gonna help Zuma during his recovery, and then I'm gonna do everything I can to help stop Charm."

Marshall had to smile at Rocky's loyalty to Zuma. It was a similar level of loyalty he had for Flare. He was also showing the bravery that Marshall still didn't know he had. Speaking of Flare, he was currently pacing around the room impatiently waiting for Zuma to come out. When he did, along with Katie, he had a cast on his left leg and Flare ran up to him with an excited look. "Zuma!"

Flare instantly hugged Zuma, who was relieved he didn't have any broken ribs. "I'm happy to see you too buddy. Good thing I don't have any bwoken wibs."

"He's gonna be in that cast for at least a week. I'd recommend he stays off missions for that time." Katie explained to Ryder, who then nodded in understanding as Rocky then looked at Zuma. The Chocolate Labrador was smiling to him, and Rocky then smiled back. Little did Zuma know that Rocky was more determined than ever to stop Charm. He just had to help Zuma recover before he could start that.

It was nearing bedtime for the pups, who got chinese food for dinner and brought some home, and they all had a long day, especially Zuma. Rocky and Chase were currently helping carry him in, since he was struggling due to his broken leg. Chase was still beating him self up about what happened. "I'm sorry guys; I'm sorry."

"Relax Chase. We forgave you thirty one apologies ago." Snow snarked, and then she added to it with a smirk. "So... one more than you actually did."

Rocky saw that Zuma was still struggling to cope with what happened, but before he could say anything, Zuma spoke up. "Take me to the couch. Flawe and Mawshall need to heaw about this." Rocky nodded and respected Zuma's wishes before bringing him to the couch. When he sat down next to him, the rest of the pups, Ryder, and Richie, joined them with Marshall handing Zuma an ice pack, which he put on his leg. Flare sat on the right side of Zuma as Rocky sat on his left and helped Zuma apply the right amount of pressure to his wound. "You guys weady for this?"

Flare and Marshall nodded in response, assuring Zuma that they were ready. It's not like this could be as bad as the previous secret they learned about, and Snow made that clear. "It's not like they'll hate you for it. After all, they already learned that Charm is Rocky's brother; what could beat that?"

"Faiw enough, but I still wanna be suwe." Zuma chuckled, and then he started explaining his viewpoint on what happened. He had to hold back his tears with Rocky putting a paw on his shoulder for comfort. "That Bowder collie Chase awwested wasn't just some cwiminal around Adventuwe Bay." Zuma signaled Flare to let him take care of the ice pack for now, which he obliged to. Zuma then took care of the pressure on his own as he finished. "I used to be in his gang."

"You were a gang dog!?" Flare and Marshall replied in shock. Zuma was one of the last pups they expected to be in a gang due to how laid back and chill he could be.

Zuma directed his attention to Flare and Marshall, who then flinched with Marshall correcting their reaction. "Sorry, sorry; it's just hard to picture YOU of all pups in a gang. Or, any of our friends to be honest. You're all just so... good."

"I get it." Zuma responded understandingly. He then went into detail on everything that happened to him. "It wasn't easy for me gwowing up." Zuma looked to the ground as he continued his explination. It was clearly a heartbreaking time for him. "You see, when I was fouw, my pawents got awwested for a bunch of cwimes they committed befowe I was bown. I was sent to my town's local owphanage after that, and I spent a year being bullied there by one pup in particulaw named Mawley, who always mocked my speech impediment." Zuma clenched his fist as he tried even harder to hold his tears back. "He always said I talked like that because I'm... wetarded."

Marshall was shocked when he heard about this, but Flare was more confused if anything. That was a word he was new to as he then tried to say it himself. "Re... ta... reta... yeah I don't know that word."

"It's basically a word to use when you wanna call someone too dumb to live," Marshall explained, hoping he was doing the best he could. "when they really aren't, and are as capable of being a true member of society as anyone else."

"Oh, wow. Ouch." Flare was shocked to hear about this as he then expressed immense sympathy for Zuma. "Zuma, I'm so sorry you had to go through that. I can't imagine what being called that word is like. Or anything you must've gone through for that matter."

Marshall crossed his arms as he showed as much sympathy for Zuma as Flare did. "And I'm willing to bet money that your parents being taken away is the reason you snapped at that cop." Zuma nodded his head yes, telling Flare and Marshall all they needed to know. "Not gonna lie; I'd probably snap too if that happened to me."

Zuma was glad to see Flare and Marshall caring about his pain. He didn't expect anything less from them. And with that, he continued the explanation. "Aftew a yeaw of that towture, I wan away and left the only fwiend I made there. A Dobewman named Claw Rakusen. Hehe. He shawed Chase's flatulence problem." Chase laughed a bit at the jab Zuma took at him as Zuma then got serious about his story again. The joke was merely to decrease his chances of crying after all. "A month aftew that, I met Bloodfweak and his gang, and after I pwoved my worth, they took me in; except most of THEM called me lispy, which wasn't much bettew."

Zuma tried to hold back his tears even harder and clenched his fists tightly. He didn't want to worry the pups anymore than they already were. "I was in that gang for two yeaws before I got kicked out for saving a fellow membew's life. Their name was Paleclaw, and they were pinned against the wall by a webel cop's gun. I acted quickly and knocked him out by shoving a statue in the museum we were wobbing onto him. That led to us both escaping... but then I got punished for it."

Rocky wiped Zuma's tears as he started to see that he was tearing up. This made Zuma blush a bit as he noticed, but he ignored that as he continued with the story. "Then I stole some of his cash and sometime later, I came to Adventuwe Bay. Mawley was there, and I usually could beat him in a fight, but he outnumbewed me this time." Zuma then remembered the one moment that defined his life more than anything: The moment Rocky and Richie saved him from his former bully. "Then Wichie and Wocky saved me, and intwoduced me to the Paw Patwol."

Explaining his past was getting harder and harder for Zuma to accomplish without breaking down. "And they recwuited me a month latew... for the same thing Bloodfweak kicked me out for." His voice crack in his final words was enough to indicate that he was about to start crying. "They accepted me."

Zuma started bawling, just like he did after he sang his song a week after meeting Rocky and the rest of the Paw Patrol at the time. Flare was quick to hug Zuma for comfort; all he wanted in that moment was to help Zuma feel better. Flare had been living with them for a month and a half now, just like Marshall, so Zuma knew him long enough to be okay with it. He wrapped his arms around Flare. Since he came, he saw him as that annoying little brother that he loved more than almost anything. "Thanks Flawe. I'm glad I have you guys in my life now."

Zuma continued to cry with the tears rolling down Flare's back, but Flare didn't care. He simply patted Zuma's back and let him cry, knowing this was a moment he needed to cope with today. Rocky the made Zuma a promise that he would vow to keep under any circumstances. "I promise Zuma. I'll do everything I can to keep you safe from now on. And that includes stopping Charm."

"That's speaking for all of us." Chase assured Zuma as he walked up to him. He wanted to be extra sure Zuma knew of his intentions. "I don't want this to ever happen again, and I have enough determination to do everything in my power to prevent it; and that applies to you, and everyone else in this room." Zuma couldn't help but smile. His friends were more than his friends. They were his family.

The family he needed after his parents were taken from him.

Zuma was getting ready for bed, and Rocky was currently reading him his favorite story about a cool surfer dude looking for a place to call home. It wasn't as dangerous as Zuma's story, since the surfer was a grown up Chocolate Labrador, but the symbolism was still there. And Rocky even went out of his way to act out all of the characters perfectly as he spoke of their voices. "And in that moment, all Alex could do was cry tears of joy. He'd finally found his home, and he was ready to start a new life with Stuart, along with his new group of friends."

Rocky even mimicked the kissing done at the end by kissing Zuma's pillow. This made Zuma crack up; Rocky was really enjoying this and putting his all into it. At the same time, he couldn't help but appreciate what Rocky was doing for him. "Thanks Wocky. You and the othews totally fixed my night, you especially." Rocky beamed with Zuma then blushing as he flinched and tried to keep his cool. "I'm getting pwetty tiwed though. See ya tomorrow mowning?"

"Always." Rocky took Zuma's paw and assured him that everything was going to get better. "I know today was tough for you, but this was just a lowpoint in your life. It's not going to be a downward spiral for you. Things will get better. I promise."

Zuma was glad to get that confirmation as he then sat up and hugged Rocky. The two of them embraced each other for a little longer than normal, but they didn't mind. They were just relieved to embrace one another after today. That said, the two did have to break up the hug. This didn't lead to anything awkward, but the two blushed without noticing the other's face turning red. "Well... See ya tomorrow Zuma." Zuma nodded in response as Rocky then left, walking past Flare as he went to his room while trying to hide his blush. "Goodnight Flare."

"Goodnight Rocky!" Flare replied, and then he knocked on Zuma's door and opened it to speak up. "Hey Zuma; you have a sec?"

Zuma nodded his head yes with Flare closing the door behind him and then he noticed the teddy bear as Flare brought it over to his bed. "Why'd you bwing the teddy beaw in here?"

"This 'teddy bear', is a master for emotional comfort." Flare informed Zuma bluntly, and then he smiled and explained what he was trying to do. "I figured it'd be hard for you to sleep tonight, so I thought that just as a one night thing, I could let you have Princess Chocolate for the night." Flare handed Princess Chocolate to Zuma, and then he got stern about using him. "And I can't stress this enough, I do NOT want him to get chewed on. And I also will need him back for tomorrow. And don't, fart on him."

Zuma nodded in response as he chuckled a bit about how Flare was acting about his bear. "Not a pwoblem. Thanks Flawe. I'll take good cawe of him." Flare was glad to hear that, and then Zuma started laughing as he said the name of Flare's teddy bear. "Pwincess chocolate!"

Flare giggled a bit himself before admitting that there wasn't really any special origin to the name. "I don't know why I gave her that name. I guess I just like it." Flare got up and went to leave the room, knowing Zuma would need a long sleep after today. "Goodnight Zuma. And remember to punch your fear in the face!"

"You got it dude!" Zuma replied back, and then Flare left the room with the Chocolate Labrador looking at Princess Chocolate. He had to question what Flare meant by him being a 'master for emotional comfort'. His confused face as he spoke up about her said it all. "Am I just supposed to sleep with you?"

The next morning, Zuma was still sleeping soundly in his bed as he then heard someone knocking on his door, which woke him up. He was feeling much better after his sleep thankfully, so he didn't mind. He went over to the door and opened it up to find a Rocky standing there. "Morning Zuma. Just wanted to let you know that Flare made breakfast."

"Sweet!" Zuma exclaimed, always being excited for when it was Flare's turn to cook. "I love it when it's Flawe's tuwn to cook!"

"I think we all share that in common." Rocky assured Zuma, and then he saw that the Chocolate Labrador was holding Princess Chocolate. "Isn't that Flare's teddy bear?" Zuma nodded his head yes, and Rocky showed astonishment at the sight of it. "Wow. It must've taken a lot for Flare to let you sleep with Princess Chocolate. He loves that thing!"

Zuma laughed a bit, being well aware of some of the instances where Flare was super protecting of Princess Chocolate. "No kidding. It was just a one night thing though, so no worry." Rocky laughed a bit when he heard that. Flare limiting it to one night was one thing he DID expect to come from it.

When Zuma and Rocky arrived in the hallway, they found Marshall plating their portions of what he made, which everyone else was loving the taste, smell, and sight of. Skye was the first to notice Zuma and pulled his chair out for him, and he sat down and smiled at the sight of it. "Thanks Skye, but I think I can still pull my own chaiw out."

Skye shrugged and continued eating happily with Flare revealing that he'd made Zuma a special kind of breakfast burrito. "I know you love spicy food, so I found the best hot sauce I could find in the fridge and put it on your burrito."

"Thanks Flawe! This should totally get my blood pumping." Before Zuma started eating however, he returned Princess Chocolate to Flare; and he was very grateful for the night he had with him. "You were wight about Pwincess Chocolate. She totally kept the nightmawes out of my head last night."

Flare beamed when he heard that and hugged Princess Chocolate before Ryder spoke up about Zuma's mission status. "Now Zuma, I'm sure you know that because of your broken leg, I can't let you participate in any missions." Zuma nodded his head yes in response to that, and was bummed out by it. He hated being left out of missions he knew he could help on. "I'll be sure to cover for the missions where we'll need your water stuff. I have plenty of backup supplies for in case any of the members need to be put on break for health reasons or otherwise."

"You pwobably won't need to use it that much anyway, but good to know." Zuma pointed out, and he then laughed a bit as he realized something. "That's iwonic. We live neaw a beach, and yet I'm the one who's deployed the least. It's almost as if the beach is secwetly a desewt!" The rest of the pups and Ryder laughed at Zuma's joke as Zuma took a bite of his burrito. Flare definitely went all out with the hot sauce. The spice definitely hit him, but he still loved the feel it gave to him as he dug into it.

Three days after Zuma's injury, Rocky was in his room, which was full of all kinds of gadgets and sciencey stuff, along with a poster of Zuma above his bed that said 'Do It For Him!'. That was a recent addition. He was determined to make sure he did everything in his power to keep Zuma safe, and that would mean he'd have to improve his combat experience. He wasn't well known on the team for his combat skills, and was mostly best at his gadgets and how he used them on missions. He couldn't risk anything. He had to make his combat as good as his gadgetry.

Just then, someone knocked on his door, and the sound of Zuma's voice made Rocky flinch. "Wocky! You in thewe dude!?"

Rocky was currently inventing something to help him improve his combat skills faster, and he put it away as he then looked at a cage with a mouse in it while whispering. "Don't bring this to Zuma's attention Science." Science saw Rocky walk over to the door and answer it, wondering what Zuma was doing there. "Hey Zuma. What's going on?"

"I was just wondering if you wanted to watch this new movie with me." Zuma explained, and he then started to explain what the movie was about. As he was explaining what it was about however, his voice started to trail off as something caught his attention. "Think Back to the Futuwe with zombies, and.." Rocky looked to where Zuma was looking and flinched. What Zuma had his attention aimed at was the poster he recently put up, and Zuma came in to see what it is. "What's that?"

Rocky started to panic and didn't want Zuma to see the poster, due to it having the possibility of meaning anything. "It's nothing! Just um... decoration purposes! Yeah, that's it!"

Zuma got a look at the poster and didn't buy Rocky's story when seeing what it said. "Is that why it says 'do it fow him' on it?" Rocky flinched and rubbed his arm with Zuma then seeing how determined he was to protect him. He walked up to Rocky and put a paw on his shoulder to let him know he would be okay. "Wocky, obviously I'm still a little messed up about what happened. But I'll be fine. You and the othews have been an awesome job at keeping my spiwits up. Don't push youwself too hard."

Zuma could tell that Rocky was still worried, and that he showed a decent amount of fear in his eyes. Not wanting Rocky to worry, Zuma got an idea. A smelly idea. As he and Rocky were sitting down, his eyes darted down to his butt as he smirked and with his butt vibrating and tail wafting, what left his butt was...

PFFFFFFFFFFT

Rocky's eyes widened upon what he just heard. Zuma had actually farted for five seconds straight in his room; and it had an intense, spicy chicken aroma in it with the green cloud proving that as it lingered. Rocky was surprised, but then he got the hot scent of the fart and it burnt his nose a little, causing him to waft it away as he laughed. Zuma then gave a genuine smile as he spoke up. "Would someone who was too bwoken to defend themselves do that?"

"No, but I still wanna keep you safe if I can." Rocky admitted, laughing a bit as he then let Zuma know something. "And FYI, you don't have to fart to confirm you're okay."

"Then let's go watch that movie!" Zuma exclaimed, and he and Rocky left the room, but not before Rocky opened up a window to let the gas out. As they left, Rocky explained more about the movie. "So yeah, basically these two dudes twavel back in time and end up in a zombie apocalypse, and they..."

A full week after Zuma got his cast, Richie was helping him take it off to see if he could walk on it properly. Zuma felt it to be a little difficult to apply a lot of weight to his left hind leg, but he was still able to stand on it for a little bit. Rocky was right next to Zuma, and he smiled as he put a paw on his shoulder and nodded to him, being proud of how he got through a week after his birthday disaster. Richie then smiled himself as he told Zuma what he had to do. "Alright Zuma. Now walk over to Ryder the best you can, and that'll determine how long it'll be before you can return to your missions."

Zuma nodded in response and got onto his hind legs, applying more weight to his right one just to be safe. 'Okay Zuma. You can do this.' Zuma walked over to Ryder the best he could, moving a little slower when stepping with his left leg, to avoid going too fast. He was able to make decent time, and even managed to avoid any serious pain, but he did get a sudden jab in his leg that made him flinch and wince. He fought through it however, and despite Ryder's worry, he still walked over to him. Ryder then grabbed his front paws as Zuma reached him.

Ryder was glad to see Zuma doing so much better now, and Zuma was glad too. If only his leg was in perfect condition. He still wanted to be cautious, so he felt Zuma should wait a little longer before he could go on missions again. Luckily, he didn't think they had to wait too long, and within the next twenty four hours, Zuma should be set. "Your leg seems to be working perfectly fine, but let's give it another day just to be safe. Then you can get back to missions without any worry."

"Okay, sounds good to me." Zuma was glad to be getting better, as he was excited to get back to missions. As much fun as he had with video games and spending time with Rocky, he still loved helping out the team when he could. He then took a jab at Chase, since he blamed himself for the mission failure. "Also glad to see Chase's self loathing fit didn't last duwing my whole wecovery." Ryder rubbed Zuma's head as the Chocolate Lab laughed a bit. He was still shook by what happened last week, but he was still ready to prove himself valuable to the team.

Charm was watching the recording of the news report regarding Bloodfreak and his gang being arrested and sent to prison. As they expected, Katie was the one covering the report from the Adventure Bay courtroom. "A week after the crime Bloodfreak's gang committed in the abandoned warehouse, they've been locked behind bars with twenty years behind bars to pay for their crimes. Bloodfreak himself said that this was an act of Charm's manipulation, and his gang was able to avoid a life sentence. Was this fair? As a friend of the Paw Patrol, I think not!"

Katie continued to speak her mind about this as Charm turned off the recording with Trickery, who was sitting next to him, showing intrigue in why Charm did what he did. "I must know Charm. Why did you team up with Bloodfreak's gang to make him torture Zuma if you were just going to escape as soon as the rest of the Paw Patrol got involved?"

Charm gave a sadistic grin as he happily explained what his actual plan was. "Oh I never intended on killing them that day. I just wanted to break Zuma when I saw a chance for it, thus causing a chain reaction of everyone in the Paw Patrol losing their confidence!" Charm laughed evilly as he then set his drink down and finished his explanation proudly. "No; my attempt to kill them will be for a much greater plan. It's too bad Zuma was able to recover. If only his friends didn't love him so well. Oh well; at least I got Bloodfreak and his gang of losers out of the picture."

Trickery was definitely intrigued by what Charm's next plan was going to be. He always loved working beside him and making sure he ruled the world. "I can only imagine what you have planned next my sadistic leader! And if I can play a part in it, I'll do so in spades! (Pulls out all four kinds of spade cards) And not just these four."

Charm chuckled devilishly as he opened up a file that revealed Snow's device, which gave a hint as to what the plan was going to be. "That plan should come into play soon enough Trickery. (Clasps paws together) Soon enough indeed." As Charm gave his sadistic grin, the screen cut to black, ending the chapter, and the Zuma's Past arc, off.

Soft piano music started playing as the night sky was shown with the scene then descending to the cliff at the edge of the Paw Patrol lookout's standing as Flare walked over to it. Flare then sat down and looked at the stars as he thought about the pups in the Paw Patrol with a female voice singing Risks Worth Taking. He first thought about Snow. "This world has so much in it, that I have yet to see. And I have to be ready for how to act upon it, whatever it may be. (Flare starts thinking about Chase) I've made so many great friends, since I came to Adventure Bay. And when I start to help with missions, that will certainly be my day."

The song continued as Flare started to think about Rocky. "When things get good, and when they get bad, I hope they know that I have their back. There will be times where I make mistakes, but I'll work to get back on track. (Flare starts thinking about Zuma) There's no such thing as a chosen one, or any of that destiny stuff. I have to work to help this world, and that doesn't mean I get all buff."
