Disclaimer: So, yeah. As chapter two revealed, Claw's been through a lot, just like his longtime friend Zuma. If you're curious as to what I have planned for him, chapter four will give an idea for that. I hope you enjoy his role in this season as well.
Also, I don't own Paw Patrol.
Paw Patrol X
Friend or Foe arc Episode three: A Birthday Trip to Barkingburg Part Three
Right from where the previous chapter left off, Claw was taken aback by Charm claiming he was going to join him in his attack. He'd only just gotten fired, and he was basically getting an offer to get back at the one who wronged him. It happened so quickly that Claw had to make sure. "Let me get this straight. You want me to help you break into Barkingburg's vault so you can get something that'll help you with your mission, and in exchange, you'll give me a new home?"
"On point Claw." Charm responded with a grin, having a feeling that getting Claw on his side would be more than easy enough for him to pull off. "All it would take is some carnage to be enacted in the throne room." Claw flinched when he heard that, and Charm then continued his explanation. "My minions can take care of that while you distract the King and Queen."
Claw wasn't having it however. He refused to punish others for something they didn't do. "No way! Even if the Queen WAS trying to get rid of me, which is pretty hard for me not to believe with our history, the people she rules over don't deserve to get hurt!"
Charm looked to Claw and assured him that he wouldn't be doing any of the harmful stuff in this mission. "Perhaps you didn't hear me correctly. You won't be doing any of the carnage. You'll simply lead me to the vault that contains what I need, and then I have a special mission for you after that."
"And turn my back on Caiomhe and Sweetie?" Claw asked, rejecting the idea of ever working with Charm for something like this. "Forget it Charm! I may not like the Queen, but she doesn't deserve to have her Kingdom fall!"
"Maybe she does." Charm knew he would have to play hardball for this one after hearing that. He got in close and leaned over to Claw's right ear as he told him what he knew with a sadistic grin. "Today, I heard the Queen of Barkingburg boasting about all of the things in her castle." Claw's face gave a shocked expression as he realized what Charm was talking about. "Fancy beds, a stronger army, ancient jewelry, a loving family, loyal subjects."
Claw's face slowly changed to angry as Charm finished what he had to say. His words were clearly eating at his sanity. "She was boasting about everything her husband does for her. All she has to do is pretend to cry, until they head off to find it." Charm's sadistic grin was shown as he continued to feed Claw with this information. "Everything she owns since you arrived was because of the blind loyalty you gave to Barkingburg, which came from the extortion of your desperation to find a home that loved you. She gained so much more than she already had by using your trauma."
Charm's sadistic grin was all that was shown as he finished what he had to say. "And she's, not even grateful... for any of it."
Claw was trembling with his fists clenched and his body fuming with rage. Charm saw that he'd done what he had to do, and took a step back with a pleased look on his face. Claw's eyes were covered as he looked down, boiling with anger over everything Charm had just told him. All these years, since he was adoped... the Queen just used him. And she just threw him away the moment it looked like keeping him around would make him look bad. She had no right to do this. Who cares about a dragon child interacting with him? It didn't do anyone any harm!
"Okay." Determined to make the Queen suffer for this, Claw looked at Charm, ready to accept his deal. "I'll do it." Claw then held his finger up as he informed Charm of one detail he wanted him to keep in mind. "On one condition, and one condition only." Charm listened closely as Claw showed that he still cared deeply for Caiohme and Sweetie. "Caiohme and Sweetie remain unharmed. They were the only two in Barkingburg who truly loved me."
"But of course." Charm assured Claw, shaking Claw's paw as he assured him that this would go smoothly for all of them. "I give you my word Claw." Charm crossed his fingers behind his back with his other paw, making it clear that he had no intention of keeping this promise.
Chase and Marshall were looking in the Barkingburg dining room to see if Claw was in there for one last visit. Chase saw Marshall looking under the table and put a paw on his shoulder once he knelt down to him. This made Marshall yip, since he was still worried about how Chase felt regarding the secret. Chase smiled as he assured Marshall he was okay. "At ease Marshall. I already told you, I'm not mad at you."
Marshall nodded in response before standing up with Chase as he responded. "Right. Sorry Chase. I guess I'm just on a little extra edge from what happened to Claw."
"It was pretty harsh what the Queen did to him." Chase admitted, and then he brought up a contrast between his and Claw's predicaments. "Talk about unfair. Skye forgives me instantly for lying to her, and Claw gets kicked out of the castle on the spot. No one deserves to just be thrown out like that."
Marshall could tell that Chase was speaking from the heart here, since he had his past before meeting Ryder. Since no one else was around, he felt it wouldn't hurt to talk about it. "Did you have another nightmare about that on the way here?"
Chase nodded his head yes, glad he had Marshall to talk to. He then expressed another feeling he had regarding his situation. "To be honest, I think outside of lying to Skye, my biggest regret about me keeping my fears from her, was getting you involved." Marshall was surprised to hear that, since Marshall went to him to discuss this. "Yeah, you came to me, but I still told you to-"
Just then, one of Charm's soldier's kicked down the door and a bunch of them started walking in. Chase and Marshall instantly took notice and hid under the table as the guard called out. "To anyone in this room, come out with your palms up! No one is going to die, but we will fire if necessary!" Chase nodded to Marshall, and the two of them took out some smoke bombs and tosses them out onto the floor. This caught everyone's attention just as the smoke bombs went off, leaving Chase and Marshall to close the door and jam it with a sword from a knight armor statue.
Chase had already come up with a plan, telling Marshall about it right as they ran off. "I'll fill Ryder in and go to see if Skye and Zuma are okay! Everest and Rocky should be in the training room!"
"I'll go make sure they're okay! Let's save Barkingburg!" Chase and Marshall did their signature handshake before running off in their own directions. On the way to his location, Chase turned his pup tag on to inform Ryder of the situation.
In the town of Barkingburg, Flare and Snow were currently looking for Claw in one of the local hangout spots. Flare was calling out to him, since he was the louder of him and Snow and would have a better show. "Claaaaaw! Claaaw!?"
Snow realized a possible outcome for the scenario and gave a concerned look as she told Flare. "I don't know Flare. Claw could've already skipped town by hijacking one of the Queen's chariots or something."
"Wouldn't the King and Queen have noticed him doing something like that by now?" Flare asked, feeling that the King and Queen would know what he was up to. "The guy who reported Claw for his interactions with Sunshine might've been a spy for them or something."
"Maybe, but even if he IS a spy, he still took his sweet time reporting Claw's dragon rule bending to them." Snow pointed out, feeling that if they were going to see Claw escape in a noticeable method, it'd take some time to be reported entirely. "And out of all the stuff the castle has, security cameras sure aren't one of them." Snow then realized how stupid of a design choice that is. "Wait a minute. Who chooses between guards or security cameras when they can afford both no problem?"
Flare thought about that question with Snow then getting a call on her pup tag from Ryder. "Snow! Charm's army somehow got into the castle! We need you back here ASAP to help us defend everyone!"
"I'll be right there Ryder. Time to help however my four paws can!" Snow called out, and she ended the call as she and Flare headed off. "Let's get moving Flare! It's time to put your training to use again!"
"I'm ready for whatever comes my way!" Flare called out, leaving Snow to laugh a bit, but not directly at Flare. The Dalmatian then smiled as he responded to it. "What? It's my callout. The team's always prepared; I make sure I'M prepared, it all checks out." Flare and Snow hi fived and headed for Barkingburg's castle, hoping they would get there in time to help with the assault.
When Flare and Snow got back to the castle, it was overrun with Charm's forces, but with an odd detail that perplexed them. The guards didn't seem to be hurting anyone, which surprised Flare especially. He'd gotten a full glimpse of what Charm was like when he killed his own father right in front of him. The guards not hurting anyone didn't make sense to him. "Why are they just holding them down like that?"
"It must be a no killing until necessary mission." Snow suggested, having a feeling that Charm was planning something bigger. "Charm may be a psychopath, but he knows when to do what."
Flare and Snow looked at the castle and saw that the door to the training room was left wide open. Flare was optimistic when he saw that and started talking about what they could do. "That's the training room, right? We could head in there and use some of the weapons to help fight Charm's army."
Snow laughed a bit at how similar hers and Flare's thoughts ended up being. "Did we just combine our brains or something? If so, then I've always wanted the power of telepathy." Flare laughed a bit in response to that, and then Snow realized that the window was too high up for them to reach on their own. "We'll need a new first step to get in. A boost up would just leave one of us stuck out here." Flare and Snow tried to think of a way to get in, and Snow saw a guard holding someone down with a sword. She hatched a quick plan and went in. "Wait here."
Flare watched as Snow snuck up to the guard, and she took out the same device she used to open up Everest's cell back in Prison City. Once she got close enough, she hit the guard with it and tasered him. She managed to knock him out, and once he fell to the ground, she picked up his sword and nodded to the citizens who thanked her. She and Flare then snuck up to the castle undetected, and Snow threw the sword at the castle wall, creating a platform for them to jump off of. Flare and Snow hi fived before making their move, making sure not to touch the sharp edges of the sword as they jumped in.
Elsewhere in the castle, Claw and Charm were currently looking for the vault that held what Charm was looking for. Claw was looking around for the exact door they needed, and he pointed to it once he noticed. "Over here!" Claw ran up to the vault door with Charm following from behind, and Claw barked for his pup pack to get it working. "Pincers!" But when the pincers came out, they struggled to actually work again. This made Claw frustrated as he criticized the pincers' inefficiency. "Why, don't you ever work!?"
As claw struggled to get his pincers to work, Charm gave a deadpan look to the Doberman as he noticed something. "Um... Claw?"
Claw looked to Charm, who pointed towards what looked like a paw reading device for the vault room. Claw chuckled a bit as he walked up to the paw scanner and held his paw up. "Oh yeah." Claw's paw was thankfully accepted with Claw being glad as the door opened. "Good thing you came when you did. If you came a day later, my paw probably would've been rejected."
"Obviously. Let's just focus on finding what I came for." Charm commanded impatiently, and he walked down the vault with Claw, and the two of them looked around before seeing a dragon tooth in some kind of container. When Charm walked up to it, he inspected the capsule carefully as he admired the tooth. "The Dragon's Tooth. Once I get this, every single dragon will soon follow-"
Claw's pincers suddenly knocked the glass container off of the Dragon's Tooth, leading to an annoyed look from Charm. Claw chuckled nervously as he apologized for his pincers' mistake. "Sorry about that. (Glares at his pup pack) My pup pack seems to have a mind of it's own!"
Charm sighed as he grabbed the Dragon's Tooth, glad that he at least got what he came for. "Just get ready for the next part of the plan." Charm gave Claw an earpiece, and after Claw put it on his right ear, Charm reminded him of the next part of the plan. "Don't go all out. We have to give them a false sense of security. Then you can get the info."
"Got it." Claw responded with a nod, and he and Charm then headed out to fulfill their own parts of the plan.
Flare was in the training room with Snow, Rocky, and Everest as the other three tried to fend off against Charm's forces. He wasn't entirely sure how he could help, but he then saw a Snow and Everest managed to kick back sneeze after crashing into a wall. He then looked to see that this was because of a nearby flower vase. Flare got an idea and looked at the daisy in his ear, picking it out from his ear and running over to the soldier. This surprised everyone, but Flare then shoved the daisy into the soldier's nose, causing him to start sneezing uncontrollably.
This made Flare laughing when she saw it, and when Marshall arrived, he caught sight of what was going on. He saw the guard sneezing and laughed a bit as he came in. "Guess Chase isn't the only dog in the world who's allergic to flowers." Marshall then dodged a nearby soldier's arrow and charged at him, leaving Flare to wonder what he should do again. As Rocky was fighting a soldier nearby, holding his own rather well, another soldier cheap shot him with a kick to the side.
Flare took notice to this quickly and ran over to the situation after looking at which soldier he'd be better off attacking. Despite Rocky's surprise upon seeing this, Flare jumped onto one of the soldier's and karate chopped his neck, knocking him out. Rocky was about to thank Flare, only for the other soldier to kick him to the side. "Flare!" This caused a bruise to appear on Flare's arm, and when Marshall saw this, he was shocked, and then his big brother instinct kicked in. He instantly started rushing over to Flare... after punching a soldier who tried to lunge at him.
The soldier was about to attack Flare again, and despite Flare starting to get up to keep fighting, Marshall distracted the guard just in time. "Hey!" The soldier looked at Marshall, and this gave Flare enough time to kick the soldier in the shin. Once his balance was lost, Marshall tackled the guard and pinned him to the ground, getting aggressive as he held him by his head. "Don't you EVER hurt my little brother again! If I see you lay a single finger on him, I'll kill you where you stand!"
Marshall knocked the soldier out just before he could reach for his knife, and Marshall then went over to Flare, since everyone else had the guards handled. Marshall couldn't help being scared for Flare's safety, and Flare kept looking at the wound as Marshall made sure he was okay. "Are you okay Flare?"
"Yeah, I should be okay." Flare moaned a bit after poking his wound, but then he smiled cheerfully as he pointed something out about the situation. "All a part of being in the Paw Patrol, right?" What Flare said there, despite it being optimistic, made Marshall concerned about Flare joining the team. He started to wonder if Flare was safe working with the Paw Patrol with stuff like this going on.
In the dance room, Chase had just arrived and saw Ryder, Skye, and Zuma fending off against the rest of the soldiers. A soldier charged at Chase, who ducked underneath his sword charge and kicked him in the stomach. He threw him at the wall with his foot, and then he ran over to Skye, who was dodging a soldier's strikes with her acrobatic skills. Chase grabbed the soldier's head and snapped his neck, making sure that all it did was knock him out. Skye was grateful, but gave a sly grin to Chase after she looked at the soldier. "Thanks Chase, but I could've taken him out."
"Hey. No one, attacks my girl." Chase assured Skye while grinning proudly, making Skye giggle in response as Ryder then threw two soldiers past them and into the wall. After Zuma took out the last of the soldiers, Chase filled them in on the situation. "I sent Marshall to go help Rocky's group in the training room." Chase then hatched an idea and looked to Ryder to see if it was plausible. "This may be a stretch Ryder, but do you think Charm might've been waiting for us to come to Barkingburg?"
Ryder started to think about that one with Charm speaking over the intercom with everyone else being alerted. "You never cease to amaze me Paw Patrol!" Charm was shown to be sitting in between a tied up King and Queen with Charm boastfully announcing his plans. "If you have any brains left, you'll go after Claw before he escapes out of the front entrance with the Dragon's Tooth!" The mention of the Dragon's Tooth shocked the King and Queen as Charm laughed before getting ready to knock them out. "Should've thought twice before firing him your dungness!"
Charm finished the announcement there, and with that, the others had their answer with Ryder speaking up. "Knowing Charm, he'd want at least a little challenge with any of his mission."
Chase rushed off to stop Claw with a determined look on his face, leaving Zuma to call out to him as he went after him. He didn't want for him or Claw to get too seriously hurt in any potential brawl. "Slow down Chase dude!" Ryder and Skye then headed off after them after sharing a nod, showing that they were on the same page with the two of them heading for the castle entrance.
As Claw waited for the Paw Patrol to show up while leaning on the wall, he started to get impatient before he saw Chase running down the hallway. He started to get excited and got ready for the plan to finish off, making sure to remember not to give it his all. "So you came then." Chase attempted a flying kick on Claw, regaining his balance instantly when Claw dodged. Claw then headed for the stairs with Chase going after him. Claw jumped over his lunge, leaving Chase to regain his balance and jump up onto the handrail of the stairs right in front of the entrance and throne.
Chase slid down the handrail with Claw arriving just as Chase jumped off and did a front flip before landing safely on the ground. Claw stopped where he was with Ryder, Skye, and Zuma stopping him from escaping from the other side. Chase then called over to him to convince him not to finish the plan. "Just hand it over Claw! There's still time to make the right call!" Claw scoffed, rushing down the stairs with Chase sighing as he let Claw know he messed up. "Your loss."
Chase jumped back to evade Claw's backhand punch, leading to the German Shepherd performing a jump kick and sending Claw into the wall. Before Claw could fight back, Chase ran up to Claw and pinned him against the wall as he held his paw out for the Dragon Tooth. "Give us the Dragon Tooth Claw. There's no getting out of this."
Claw counted down from three with his paw, which confused Chase a bit, up until Charm spoke up again on the intercom. "You didn't seriously think I'd be dumb enough to give that klutz the Dragon Tooth, do you?" Charm was shown to be waiting by the window for his blimp while speaking into the portable announcement microphone. "Oh well. Maybe next time you'll think twice before leaving me alone!" Charm jumped onto the blimp after turning the microphone off and laughed maniacally as he held the Dragon Tooth and thought about how much closer he was getting to his ultimate plan.
Claw saw a betrayed look in Zuma's eyes, which made Claw feel bad for what he was doing. He didn't have time to act upon it however, as Chase's stomach growled, leaving Claw to wonder what that meant. Chase gave him a smug grin as he assured him that he was in for a bad time. "I've got plenty of hot air ready for you when we get back to the Lookout. Good luck." Claw gulped in response to that. He was a gasbag himself as well, but he had no idea what Chase could do with his own gas.
The Paw Patrol were at the entrance of Barkingburg, where Chase was safely putting Claw into the back of the Paw Patroller. Zuma was nearby as Chase closed the back door to the Paw Patroller, being sad about what'd happened. Chase looked to Zuma, empathizing with his struggle regarding Claw's turn. "I know he was your friend Zuma. Here's hoping it can stay like that."
"Yeah. Ditto." Zuma looked into the back of the Paw Patroller from the window and showed concern for Claw. He didn't want him to go down a path he couldn't come back from.
Ryder was speaking to Caiomhe and Sweetie nearby, and both of them were heartbroken by what'd happened. Caiomhe expressed immense hurt over what Claw was doing after he was revoked from being a knight. "I knew he was angry, but I never thought Claw would ever resort to doing something like this."
Sweetie didn't know what to make of the situation. All she could do was ask if Claw was going to be okay. "Is Claw going to be alright?"
"Well Sweetie, we'll be interrogating him when we get back to Adventure Bay." Ryder informed Sweetie, hoping that everything would go well with said interrogation. "Hopefully Claw isn't changing for the worse." Caiomhe and Sweetie looked at each other with concern in their eyes before Caiomhe hugged Sweetie gently in an attempt to comfort her.
Flare and Marshall were putting their stuff in the storage compartment for the Paw Patroller as Flare asked about Claw. "Is Claw gonna be okay Marshall?"
Marshall could sense Flare's worry for Claw. He couldn't help also worrying about that himself. "I don't know Flare. We'll have to wait and see." Flare gave a worried look for Claw as he put his bag in the storage unit. He never would've imagined that a knight would go down the path of evil.
On the way home, Flare and the others were processing what went down with Claw and his betrayal of Barkingbug. Zuma was, understandably, hurt by this incident, as he never thought someone like Claw would do something like this. Rocky put a paw on his shoulder as he assured Zuma of a possible outcome. "Don't forget Zuma. Charm is pretty manipulative. We could have a chance to bring Claw back once he sees who Charm really is."
"Ya think so?" Zuma asked, being hopeful from that reminder that Claw would come back to the side of good.
"There's at least a chance." Rocky's encouragement did make Zuma feel better. Rocky just hoped it wouldn't lead to any unnecessary drama happening. "I can't say for sure what's going to happen next, so I wouldn't get my hopes up too high. But I would keep in mind, at least for now, that convincing Claw not to lose himself is an option."
That did make sense to Zuma after he thought about it for a bit. He didn't know why Claw helped Charm, but if Claw was ready to speak about it, he figured he could at least learn that much. Zuma then wrapped his arm around Rocky, making the mix blush softly as Zuma thanked him for the comfort. "Wocky dude, you always know just what to say." Rocky smiled in response to that as he wrapped his arm around Zuma as well. He was always glad to help out such a strong companion.
With Chase and Skye, Chase hoped Skye wasn't upset about the fact that her birthday trip ended early. He put a paw on her shoulder to comfort her about the situation. "I'm sorry your birthday trip had to end so soon Skye. Even with my fear of cities, I would've stayed for the full day in Barkingburg with you."
Skye wasn't sad however. She knew this was more important. "I'm just glad I finally got to visit Barkingburg." Skye looked at Chase with a genuine smile, showing that she was as willing as ever to help him with whatever struggles he may have with cities and crowds. "Maybe this can be the start of you being comfortable in cities too. Now we just gotta figure out what the next big step is."
Chase was grateful for the assurance that Skye would help him with his fears, but he did gain a nervous grin as he pointed out what he'd much rather be doing. "As much as I'd love that, I think dealing with an enemy attack in the biggest place I've been to in ten years is enough for now."
"Works for me." Skye responded after giving Chase a loving cheek kiss, and the two of them nuzzled each other's noses lovingly right after.
Marshall was currently talking to Everest as he thought about Flare and Snow, and as Everest was speaking, Marshall ended up looking at Flare. Everest noticed that Marshall was distracted and caught his attention by snapping her fingers. Marshall flinched as Everest then asked if he was okay. "Ya still there buddy?"
"Yeah, I'm here. Sorry about that." Marshall apologized, hoping he didn't come off as rude there. "I'm just worried about Flare. He hasn't been injured since we saved you from Prison City, and I'm worried it'll happen again. And he was way less reckless here than he was last time."
Everest definitely got that. It's like with her and Snow; she was always worried about her. She just didn't show it as much because she knew Snow wanted to be taken seriously. She knew Flare and Marshall weren't her and Snow however, so she gave him the best advice she could. "Maybe you could try talking to Flare about it? It could help you see how he views the situation."
Marshall did like that idea, and he hoped Everest wouldn't mind him leaving the conversation for a bit. "That could work. Be right back." Everest nodded in response, and Marshall walked over to Flare and Snow, who were talking about what would happen with Claw once they got back. "Hey Flare. Can we talk for a sec?"
Flare signaled Snow that he would be back in the conversation soon, and Snow nodded, getting onto her file of Flare's game to let him and Marshall talk. "I'm all ears Marshall."
"Good. I gotta get this off my chest." Marshall admitted, hoping that Flare wouldn't start worrying about him after he asked this. "Do you still want to join the Paw Patrol?"
Flare laughed a bit in response to that, finding Marshall's need to ask that to be kind of silly. "Of course! That's why I stayed in Adventure Bay!" Marshall figured that would be his answer. He just wished he knew how to handle the danger of it. Flare couldn't help but notice his look of fear and hoped he was okay. "Is something wrong Marshall?"
Marshall looked at Flare and saw the concerned look in his eyes, not wanting to disappoint him by any means. He got an idea that he thought would help as he put on a smile. "You're right about that. If you didn't wanna stay past my initiation, you probably would've went home to Twin Flame Island. And you've been working your butt off to join the team." Marshall took Flare's paws as he did what he thought would help him stay calm through all of this. "Flare... I'll help you as much as I can to lead to you joining the Paw Patrol. That's a promise right from the heart."
Flare beamed when he heard that, seeing the sincerity in Marshall's eyes. He hugged his brother and let him know that he would support him as much as he could as well. "Same to you Marshall. Minus the joining the team thing." Marshall wrapped his arms around Flare for a bit before the brothers pulled away. Flare then showed his support towards Marshall and Everest becoming an item without letting Snow know about it. "Now don't leave your latest teammate hanging for too long."
Marshall headed back over to where Everest was with Snow pausing her game as she continued her conversation with Flare regarding Claw's fate. She clearly seemed conflicted about Flare's idea on what could go down. "You really think Claw could come back to normal just by showing him around Adventure Bay?"
"Well... redemption and reformation are obviously more complicated than that." Flare admitted, knowing it wouldn't be super easy, but he was still optimistic about how things could turn out. "But everyone deserves a chance to at least prove they're capable of changing for the better. And Claw was really nice to us back at the castle before the attack." Snow saw Flare's point, and that made it easier to believe his empathy for Claw. "I wanna at least see the real him. The not working for Charm him."
Snow couldn't help but love Flare's nature, but she sighed in response to his optimism. That was something that could get him killed if he wasn't careful with it. He made sure to give him a warning about it as she tilted her hat up from the tip. "Just be careful who you give those chances to Flare. Not everyone wants to change who they are. (Clenches fist) And some of them might be even closer than you think."
Flare could tell that Snow was starting to get tense, so he scooted a little closer while telling her something reassuring. "Maybe we could wait until we know for sure that Claw's ready." Snow had to admit; she was glad to see Flare trying to take her advice. "That way, we know it's safe to start."
Snow laughed a bit as she recalled how much Flare has changed since season one when it came to thinking about his actions. "Is this the same pup who rushed right into a building fire with no plan beforehand?"
"He sure is!" Flare assured Snow happily, making Snow laugh a little more before she and Flare hi fived. It was clear that Flare was currently getting through his biggest setback for when it came to officially joining the Paw Patrol.
Back at the Lookout, the Paw Patrol had just finished their dinner, and Flare patted his belly in response to the amazing food. Since he and Snow were in the kitchen on dish washing duty, Snow pointed out the fact that Flare didn't have the daisy in his ear anymore. "So. Are you gonna pick a new flower for your ear?"
"Yeah, I might do that soon." Flare answered, smiling at how he felt when wearing that daisy. "I actually felt a little more like me when I wore that flower. I wish I knew why."
Snow decided to keep the conversation going, hoping she didn't come off as awkward when talking about it. "I thought it looked pretty cute." Flare smiled when Snow said that, and she blushed softly as she tried to hide her feelings for Flare. "I mean... it suits you. I think you look natural with it. If that sounds right."
Flare giggled a bit in response to Snow's behavior. Luckily, he knew what she meant by that. "Don't worry, I got it." Flare finished his half of the dishes and put the last of them in the dishwasher as he kept the conversation going. "It's kinda like you with your hat. It says something about you that people wouldn't realize without it."
"You mean that I'm not just some puppy who's into the usual puppy stuff?" Snow asked with the kind of snark you would use for a joke.
"Something like that." Snow put her last dish in the dishwasher as Flare decided to change the subject. "So, about Chase's interrogation method. (Snow looks at Flare) What exactly does he do when interrogating his suspects?"
Snow gagged at the idea of Chase's methods, feeling that Flare could easily figure that out himself. "I think you can figure it out just by knowing him." Flare felt that was fair enough. It was clearly not a tactic Snow was a fan of. "You wanna go play with Everest's hockey kit with her and Marshall? We could find something to help it work on grass."
"Yeah, that'd be awesome! Let's go find them!" Flare and Snow headed off to find Marshall and Everest and finish off their day on a high note.
Claw was in Chase's bedroom later that night as Chase tried to get some info our of him regarding the attack. He was going with the good cop approach first, hoping that Claw was willing to cooperate. "This will be the easiest for all of us if you just cooperate Claw. Why did you start working with Charm?"
"You should know why!" Claw snapped back, clearly not being in the mood to talk at that moment. "The Queen fired me and Charm gave me a chance at a life worth living!"
Chase felt his stomach growl and let Claw know that he would be back soon. "I gotta use it real quick. I'll be back to get more info out of you, and if you don't talk, then we're gonna have to do this the hard way." Chase then looked back at the door with his butt pointed at Claw, coyly shaking it at him with a sly grin. "Then again, you may end up enjoying what I have planned for you."
Chase left the room with Claw speaking into his earpiece once he was sure he had time. "Charm." The earpiece dinged, and Claw quickly asked how long it was gonna be before Charm's plan was brought to life. "How long do I have to wait until you get your plan finished?"
"Only a matter of time Claw." Charm assured Claw, and then he was shown on the other end as he turned the earpiece off and gave a sinister grin to the camera. "Only a matter of time." Charm then gave a sinister laugh as the screen faded to black, ending the episode off.
Rock music played as Flare started speaking in regards to what was going to happen in the next part of the season two premiere with specific moments being shown. "Don't feel bad Snow. Everest and I are here to make your day. Claw? How did you get out of Chase's room? Oh well, I guess as long as you're not here to hurt us or anything it's fine. You really don't seem like a bad canine Claw. Why did you start helping Charm?"
Flare finished the announcement with the words Paw Patrol in all blue with red outlines and the title all white with Flare on one and and Marshall on the other. "Next time, From Knighthood to New Beginnings! (Flare was shown offering Claw some of the soup he made for Snow) If it helps, I think the Queen could've at least settled for a grounding."
