Disclaimer: For anyone who's wondering, yes; I will have Caiomhe and Sweetie appear more in season two. I'm not 100% sure when they'll appear yet, but they will reappear in certain chapters. They're crucial to Claw's character arc after all, so I can't just have them not appear. Anyway, I hope you like how the start for Claw's arc is going so far. Let us commence with the first single part chapter to focus on it.
Also, I don't own Paw Patrol.

Friend or Foe arc Episode four: From Knighthood to New Beginnings
It was the day after everyone arrived back from Barkingburg, and Flare and Marshall were watching some kind of comedy movie together on the couch with Flare sporting a fresh new daisy in his right ear. Both of them were laughing their butts off at the movie, and Flare was quick to imply what was happening on screen. "He did NOT think that attack through!"
As Flare and Marshall laughed at the movie, the two of them heard a sneeze from nearby. The two of them paused the movie and looked to find a sick looking Snow and worried Everest coming from the hallway. "Snow, I really think you should get back into bed."
"Then let's let the thermometer do the talking." Snow replied as she went into the living room, and Flare and Marshall showed concern for Snow as she opened up a nearby drawer. After letting out another sneeze into her arm, she handed the thermometer to Everest. "This is the mouth thermometer. Let me know what it says."
Everest put the thermometer under Snow's tongue with Flare asking about the younger Husky's condition. "Is Snow okay Everest?"
"Sure doesn't look like it." Snow sneezed again with Everest catching the thermometer and getting a good look at it. Snow's temperature was at 102F., meaning Everest's prediction was right. "Someone's come down with a cold. (Rubs Snow's head) Sorry sis. No team duties for you today."
"Oh butt!" Snow exclaimed, clearly upset about this predicament, and then she sneezed into her arm again.
Everest knew how much Snow hated neglecting her duties, something she clearly got from Chase. She hoped her presence would help her feel better. "Don't worry Snow. I'll talk to Ryder and see if I can look after you today."
"And I can help too!" Flare chimed in while wagging his tail, always being happy to help a friend however he could. "I know the perfect soup recipe for this."
Marshall then looked to Snow and Everest with a sly grin as he predicted what they were thinking. "And no, there isn't a single food he isn't prepared to cook." Snow and Everest laughed in response to that. They were quite familiar with Flare's cooking skills by that point.
Meanwhile at the beach, Rocky was doing some kind of kite-surfing surfboard as he spoke up to Zuma about his 'skills'. "Check it out Zuma! I'm a real kite surfing pro!"
Of course... Rocky wasn't actually in the water. Despite it being on the sand however, Zuma was still happy to comment. "Yeah, you've got some good moves there Wocky."
Katie was making a sand castle close by, and she gave Rocky some advice on how he'd look even cooler. "Still, you'd look a lot cooler if you actually got in the water."
Rocky stopped moving and looked out to the ocean before shuddering. No way was he was getting into the water anytime soon. "I'll pass."
A volleyball was then shown flying over to the three with someone calling over to them to "Look out!". The volleyball headed right for Rocky, who caught the volleyball without much effort and spun it on his paw a bit to show off. Alex then ran over, confirming that the volleyball was his. "Nice catch Zuma."
"Thanks Alex dude." Zuma tossed Alex his volleyball back, and Alex caught it with Zuma making a suggestion. "You guys wanna go get some ice cweam? I'd kill for a chocolate coconut swirl wight now."
The others seemed on board with that, and Alex happily rushed off ahead of them. Knowing that Alex was too small to be seen by the driver's right away, she quickly called out to him. "Alex, slow down!" Alex stopped as Katie said that, and then he remembered to look both ways first. Once the three caught up to him, Katie hi fived him to congratulate him. "There ya go."
The group then crossed the street, Rocky and Zuma hear some kind of scratching sound nearby. They soon smelled something that was similar to the scent of the ocean, and they went over to the nearby sand to check it out. This caught Katie and Alex's attention. When the observed what Rocky and Zuma were doing, Zuma soon became curious as to what could be under the sand. "What do you think it is Wocky?"
Before Rocky could respond, a sea turtle poked out from underneath the ground, surprising him quite a bit. Luckily for him, he found it to be a cute surprise. "If I had to guess... something green and cute." Zuma got a look at the turtle, and he had to agree with Rocky there. Both of them were surprised when they saw more turtles beginning to emerge.
Alex loved what he saw and found the turtles to look really cool. "Cool! Are those actual baby turtles!?"
"Indeed they are." As the turtles continued to rise, Rocky instantly developed a theory. "Their mother must've buried their eggs here so they would have a safe place to hatch."
The pups quickly realized that the turtles didn't have the safest time getting across the beach as Zuma pointed out the traffic. "Something tells me she fowgot to considew the twaffic towns and cities tend to have."
"Don't you guys worry about a thing." Katie chimed in, assuring Rocky and Zuma that she had this covered. "Go ahead and get Ryder caught up to speed on the situation. I'll stay here and watch over the baby sea turtles." Alex was then shown to be observing the sea turtles closely with Katie adding to his curiosity. "And Alex."
"We're on it! Thanks Katie!" Rocky replied, and then he and Zuma nodded to each other before rushing off to let Ryder know what was going on.
Back at the Lookout, Chase and Marshall were washing Chase's car as Marshall expressed surprise over something Chase told him about. "Ten and a half hours!? Hehe. Wow! And here I was thinking NINE hours was your max."
"Any record can be topped Marshall." Chase reminded Marshall, being well aware of how records worked by this point, even ones people weren't too fond of. "You just gotta have the right skill, mindset, and just enough determination to pull it off, no matter how hard things get. Even if the record topic is... less than ideal for most people." Chase then stated how impressed he was about something regarding his record. "I also admire Claw's tenacity. Almost all of my record was used on him, and he still hasn't said anything."
"Yeah; I can tell." Marshall admitted, hoping that he could do something that impressive in his own way one day. "Maybe helping Skye overcome her fear of eagles after this can help me get closer to taking on a record myself."
As Chase and Marshall were talking, Ryder came out the front door and saw them hard at work. "Looking good guys. Should be shining in no time."
Chase and Marshall both gave a thumbs up to Ryder with Rocky and Zuma running up to him with Zuma speaking up. "Wyder! Wyder!" As Rocky and Zuma caught their breaths, Zuma explained the situation the best he could. "Baby sea tuwtles. Hatching acwoss the beach."
"Cars in the road." Rocky continued, helping Zuma catch his breath faster as he finished up for him. "Could kill them."
"Sounds pretty serious." Chase chimed in, not wanting anything to happen to any of the life on Adventure Bay. "We'd better do something before they get run over."
"I don't think I could handle that." Marshall admitted, and then he chimed in with his typical humor. "I've got a turtally light stomach."
As Marshall laughed at his pun, the other three pups called him out on it with eye rolls. "Marshall!"
Ryder then got back on topic, letting Rocky and Zuma know that it'd all be okay. "Don't worry you two. No job is too big, no pup is too small!"
Everest was currently tending to Snow in her room with Flare coming in after knocking to let them know about the soup. "It should be ready soon. Just gotta get the seasonings right as it starts cooking."
Snow and Everest appreciated the help with Snow sneezing into a handkerchief Everest gave her. Just then, Ryder called Everest on her pup tag, and the other picture showed Skye, since she was... the only pup who wasn't caught up yet.
"Paw Patrol, to the lookout!"
"Ryder needs us!"
Everest then let Snow know that she would be back soon, not wanting to leave her hanging while she was sick. "Don't worry sis. I'll be back as soon as I can."
Snow smiled in response, and then he coyly asked Flare where he was going in such a hurry. "And why do YOU need to join them?"
"I wanna see Marshall's wipeout." Flare admitted with a giggle, leaving Snow to shrug as he rushed off, taking out a comic and starting to read it.
As the pups rushed for the Lookout elevator, everyone entered with Chase and Marshall going in last. Marshall ended up tripping over his own two feet with Chase evading just in time as Marshall called out. "Whoooa!" Once Marshall crashed into the back of the elevator, with everyone else being out of the way, Marshall smiled as he said his usual phrase to indicate that he was fine. "I'm okay!"
The other pups laughed in response to that indication with the elevator then taking off and giving each pup their usual suit for the mission. Once they were at the top, they all jumped out in their usual order, and Chase then made his usual callout with a confident smile. "Paw Patrol, ready for action Ryder sir!"
Ryder observed the pups and saw that Snow was missing, hoping she was okay as he asked about her whereabouts. "Does anyone know where Snow is?"
"Snow's sick." Everest informed Ryder, hoping he wouldn't mind her staying home from the mission. "Would it be okay if I stayed home to look after her?"
"Sure thing Everest. This mission doesn't need any of your tools anyway." Everest was relieved to hear she wouldn't have to leave Snow hanging. Ryder then got onto the mission as he pulled up the screen. "Thanks for coming pups. Rocky and Zuma found some baby sea turtles hatching across the beach."
Flare couldn't help but get excited when he heard that and jumped up with his front paws on Marshall's head, making Marshall smile as Flare spoke up. "Actual turtles!? Can you send me a picture? (Gives a puppy dog face) Pleeeeeease?"
"Will do Flare." Ryder assured Flare with a laugh, letting the others know what they had to do. "We gotta get those turtles to the safety of the ocean." Ryder then made his first call for the mission. "Chase. I'll need you to stop traffic until we can get the baby sea turtles across the road."
"Chase is on the case!"
Chase then made his second call, which was... "Rocky. We need to build something to help the sea turtles get to the water as safely as possible."
"Green means go!"
Ryder then had a third call to make, feeling that this one would be good for preparations. "Zuma. I don't know if we'll need any of your tools yet, but it would be good to have you on standby in case we need you out in the water."
"Let's dive in!"
"All right! Paw Patrol, is on a roll!"
As Ryder ran over to the poll and went down it, the pups who were called out went down the slide one by one. Chase went down with a confident stature and grin, Rocky went down after prepping himself for a jump and scratched himself a bit on the way down, and Zuma jumped down and cheered as he held onto his hind feet. The pups then went into their vehicles in that order, starting with Chase's car, and then Rocky's truck, and then Zuma's hovercraft. The pups then went off with Ryder for the mission.
Claw was almost done recovering from Chase's interrogation in his room, and with one final head shake, he managed to snap back into reality. Once he did, he looked around the room to see if there was anything nearby he could use to free himself from the chair he was tied up in. Once he realized that Chase hadn't taken off his Pup Pack, or his armor, he barked and called for his pincers. "Pincers!" Once his pincers popped out, they did cut a couple of the ropes... but they started to bug out again. This made Claw sigh with annoyance. "At least they helped me get loose."
Claw barked to put his pincers away, only for the pincers to wrap him up in the chair, much to his anger. "I hate these things!" Claw made his way for the door and tried to free one of his paws during that moment. He managed to get one free and opened up the door, slamming it shut as he made a break for the front door. On the way out however, he started to go a little too fast and started rolling. Flare was shown to be happily prepping the soup he was making as Claw rolled past him.
Flare heard the crash, but didn't react much beyond smiling and focusing on his dish. The chair was thankfully broken, and Claw then barked to put his pincers away. " Go, into, the pup pack this time!" The pincers did as they were told with Claw taking notice to Flare in the kitchen. He walked in to see why he wasn't paying much attention to his escape plan. "Flare? What are you doing?"
"Just getting some soup ready for lunch." Flare explained, and he was shown to be making some kind of chicken noodle and mushroom soup as he told Claw why he was making it. "Snow's sick, so Everest and I stayed home to watch over her." Flare was almost finished with the soup, so he turned the heat off and let it cool off. He then expressed sympathy for Claw as he looked to him after turning around and leaning on the kitchen counter. "By the way, I didn't get the chance to say this until now. I'm really sorry you lost your knight position back in Barkingburg.
Claw was surprised to hear such words coming from Flare, especially after the attack that he was a part of. It also made Claw feel as if he could talk to Flare directly about how he felt. "Yeah; well, I didn't exactly help you get any chances for that." Claw crossed his arms as he spoke up about what happened. "It's not your fault. If your dragon friend didn't come by during my knight hours, I would've been able to train him long enough to give the Kingdom some future defenses."
"Sunshine couldn't have known about the recording Claw." Flare reminded Claw, knowing that Sunshine was as oblivious to that recording as the rest of them. He then started to think about how the Queen got that recording in the first place. "I wonder who would've wanted to get you de-knighted anyway."
"Probably some nosy jerk who's too much of a stickler to the rules for his own good." Claw responded bitterly, and then he finally caught whiff of his odor and gagged. "Mind if I use your shower? Chase is more similar to me in terms of interrogation methods than I thought."
Flare giggled a bit before letting Claw know that he was okay to use the shower. "Just try not to use all the hot water."
Claw went over to the bathroom and started to question why Flare was being so friendly after the attack in Barkingburg. 'I don't get it. Why is Flare being so nice to me? Does he know Charm wanted me to get captured? If so, does he know why?' Claw couldn't stress on that for too long. He had to get this terrible odor off of him.
A few minutes after Claw went over to the bathroom, Flare was taking the soup he made over to Snow, since it was fresh, but not too hot anymore. Claw came out of the bathroom as he was doing this and gave a sigh of relief. Once Flare smelt the cherry blossom scent on him, Claw joked about it with a sinister grin. "Ya know, cherry blossom's symbolize death in Japan, so if you sniff long enough, you just might die."
Flare got the joke, but was a little creeped out by the undertone of it. He chuckled nervously a bit before he responded to the joke. "Interesting." Flare then showed Claw what he made to let him know he was okay with him having some. "You must be hungry. Feel free to have some if you want."
Claw got a good look at the soup, and became reluctant when he saw that it was chicken noodle and mushroom. "Thanks for the offer, but I probably shouldn't have any. I'm allergic to gluten."
"I used gluten free products just in case." Flare assured Claw, who was glad to hear that as Flare checked the soup to make sure nothing funny was in it as he spoke to himself for a bit. "Note to self, add that bit of info to the list of food tips to keep in mind for my meals."
Flare headed down the hallway to get to Snow and Everest's room, and Claw stopped him when he walked past him with a question. "Hey Flare?" Flare looked at Claw, waiting for him to ask what he wanted to since he was struggling a bit. Claw didn't want to seem rude, so he decided to be as straight forward as possible with this one. "Why are you being so nice to me?"
Flare smiled in response to that question. He hoped that he was helping Claw by showing him kindness. "Well... you lost everything yesterday, right? And if you didn't help Charm and eventually lost a way to contact Sweetie and Caiomhe, there wouldn't be anyone to turn to by that point." Claw saw what Flare was getting at as he finished his explanation. "I just thought that, I dunno; maybe being by your side and helping you find a way to keep in touch with them in the future, and also help you get your life back on track, was what you need right now."
Claw was touched by Flare's words, but as he started to wonder how genuine they were, Flare headed off to Snow and Everest's room. "Anyway, I've been leaving Snow hanging on this soup long enough. Like I said, the stuff I used is gluten free." Flare went into Snow and Everest's room while apologizing for how long he took. Claw wasn't quite sure what to make of Flare yet, but somehow he felt... warm, when speaking to him.
Meanwhile with Chase and Rocky, the two were trying to keep the turtles safe with this mini turtle walkway helping them cross the street safely. Rocky was pleased with this as Chase then called out to the residents on the beach to let them know what was going on with his megaphone. "Keep your distance everyone! Baby turtle crossing in progress! We'll remove the mini walkway as soon as we're done!" Just then, a crab was coming up from where Chase was sitting and bumped right under his butt. Frustrated that he couldn't go up, he instantly pinched Chase's butt.
"Ow!" Chase flinched when he felt the crab pinch him, and he sat up to find that it was a crab that pinched him. Getting frustrated from this, Chase shook the crab up a bit before slamming down on the ground and crushing him. He accidentally hit the last of the turtles with some sand however, and a bit of it got into the turtle's eyes. Chase's butt was shown as he shook the now unconscious crab off of it. He then smiled proudly at how beautiful his butt was. "Yep. Still gorgeous."
Chase then noticed what he did to the turtle and chuckled a bit as he took out a canteen. He poured a drop of water onto the turtle, watering his eyes as Chase spoke up. "Sorry about that little guy. My butt may be the hottest of them all, but it's still big enough to cause some damage." The turtle nodded in response to Chase's apology, letting him know his eyes were okay with Chase then heading off to where Zuma was. Zuma had the mother turtle with him, and Chase congratulated him on the fine. "Good job finding the mother turtle Zuma. How did you find her so fast?"
"I just spit balled it when I found a female tuwtle in the ocean and the wight one was the fiwst one I found." Zuma explained, and then he laughed a bit as he pointed out Chase accidentally hitting the turtle with sand. "Did you sewiously knock a cwab out with your butt?"
"There's only so many ways to get a turtle off your butt without doing more damage." Chase then turned around and mooned Zuma while boasting about his butt, which was shown as Zuma tried to hold in his laughter from Chase's ego showing. "Besides. No one should go unpunished for harming something this hot."
Zuma rolled his eyes while smiling, and Chase then began swaying his butt slowly towards him with a smug grin as the Chocolate Labrador replied. "Whatevew you say Chase."
Back at the Lookout, Flare was taking Claw to Snow and Everest's room in an attempt to get them caught up on what was happening. Claw had already had a bowl of Flare's soup and was amazed by how good it was. "You sure know how to cook for a seven year old Flare."
"Yeah, I get that a lot." Flare replied with a laugh, and then he signaled Claw to wait outside the room for a bit as he went in and gave snow and Everest a heads up. Everest was reading one of Snow's comics to her as he did. "Snow, Everest, I have a surprise for you. And try not to freak out too soon. Okay?"
Snow and Everest felt that seemed harmless enough, and Everest let him know to let em have it. "Not a problem. What could go wrong?"
Flare was glad to hear that, and he opened up the door and revealed Claw to Snow and Everest. Claw seemed quickly infatuated by something when he looked in, despite Snow and Everest looking concerned, and Snow sneezing into a tissue before snarking about the situation. "Is it okay to freak out yet?"
"Don't worry, he didn't do anything violent. He's been super calm ever since we started talking." Flare assured Snow and Everest, and then Flare noticed that Claw looked a little strange and asked him about it when he did. "You okay Claw?"
Claw started walking over to Snow and Everest, and he rubbed his arm nervously as he tried to talk to Everest. "Um... hi."
Everest felt Claw was being harmless enough, but Snow then took out a gun that was behind her bed upon instinct. He aimed it at Claw, who noticed instantly with Flare getting worried when he saw it. "You do anything to my sister and I'll pop this bullet into your-" Snow suddenly felt a big sneeze coming, and as soon as she let it out into her arm, she accidentally let go of her gun. It landed right next to Claw, making Snow worry heavily about her mistake as he picked it up. Instead of doing anything rash however, he handed it back to her, much to her's and Everest's surprise.
Claw knew he wasn't one to say anything about Snow's reaction, since he was partially responsible for the Barkingburg attack. He did call her out while laughing on when she did it however. "Maybe next time, you'll avoid trying to play the Two Paws when you're sick!"
Claw laughed some more as Flare walked up to the two and made sure to let them know what his plan was. "I thought it'd be a good idea to show Claw that we're ready to help him after what happened in Barkingburg." Snow listened closely, since she trusted Flare greatly. "I know it may seem like a long shot, but we all saw how Claw treated us before the Queen took away his knight status."
Snow and Everest had to admit that Flare had a point about that. Claw was a lot nicer before he helped Charm with his mission. Snow did have a question regarding this act however. "Answer me this Claw. If we DO let you stay here without the interrogation, how do we know it won't blow up in our faces?"
Claw wasn't entirely sure how he could answer that, so he decided to give Snow the answer he felt she'd most believe. "You can't, I guess."
Everest observed Claw closely, and she didn't seem to sense anything off about him. She felt that, at least for now, trusting him could work out. "I guess as long as he's willing to work with us, this could work out." Everest then looked to Snow, reminding her of one of the things he taught her. "After all, being there for someone can sometimes be enough to keep them on the right path."
Snow couldn't help but laugh slightly at that one, sneezing again as she made her decision while smiling. "Okay, fine. I trust you Claw. For now." Claw was happy to hear that, and Snow then directed her attention to Flare, not wanting anything to go wrong with this plan of Flare's. "Just bare in mind that there's a chance this could go south for us Flare. Not everyone is as capable of redemption as some would like to think."
Flare knew there were some people like that in this world, or at least he was starting to understand it. He felt this would be fine however, and happily responded to Snow's warning. "I think Claw's one of the ones who can find it. He's been defending Barkingburg for years after all." Claw couldn't help but think about Sweetie and Caiomhe upon the mention of Barkingburg. He didn't want to lose them, and he hoped it wasn't too late to reconcile.
Marshall and Skye were currently in Skye's helicopter as Marshall tried to compose himself while flying in it. He also congratulated Skye on her improvements, showing her a picture of how far she'd come since they first met. "You're getting closer Skye. You managed to avoid getting violent with the eagle this time, so that's a step closer."
Skye got a good look at the picture and saw herself shivering as the eagle observed her, but didn't do anything else. She had to express how scared she was when the eagle got close to her. "That has to be the fastest my heart's raced all month Marshall. At least I know your teachings are paying off." Skye then turned on the radio for some soothing music to calm Marshall down. Once it started to take the effect Skye wanted, she thanked Marshall for his help. "Thanks for helping me by the way. I know I have a lot of work to do before my fear of eagles is completely conquered."
Marshall smiled in response, glad to be able to help however he could. Of course... he had to make another pun about it. "Hey. I'm always eagle to help."
Skye gave an annoyed look before politely asking Marshall to tone it down on the puns. "Please, save it for when we get home." Marshall nodded in response as Skye then gave a proud smile. She could sense that Marshall was a lot more confident since he first arrived in Adventure Bay. "You've come a long way yourself Marshall. When you first arrived in Adventure Bay, you could barely handle that fire rescue you did with Chase. And Flare had to help you!"
"Haha. Yeah, I remember." Marshall replied bashfully, and then he started to talk about how far they were going to come, along with everyone else on the team. "I can see all of us coming a long way as the years pass by." Skye turned the auto-pilot feature on and looked at Marshall as he continued talking. "I know it's a long shot, but I can see that you all have the same desire to improve as much as you can, just like I do. So I can see all of us moving past our worst moments with time."
With a short laugh, Skye gave her reply. "Yeah, I like that." She then expressed how much he wanted to help Chase with his own trauma. "Chase opening up to me back in Barkingburg was definitely a step in that direction for him. Maybe I can convince him to go to a therapist soon."
"I think that'd help a lot." Marshall told Skye, wanting to help Chase as much as he could, just like she did. "And as long as you're there for him, I can see him coming to terms with his past."
"You and me both." Skye turned auto-pilot off as she said that, going back into manual controls as she headed for the Lookout. "I just hope our next visit to a highly populated area brings us closer to that." Marshall smiled hopefully to Skye, who knew for a fact that he was as prepared to help Chase as she was. It wouldn't be a quick and easy fix, but no trauma was fixable with the snap of one's fingers. And she was ready to do whatever it took to help him.
Flare was adding Claw's allergy to gluten to a list he had in the kitchen, and Claw got a good look at it when he saw Zuma's name on there. When he saw what he was allergic to, he started to feel a little bad for him. "It must've been hard when Zuma learned about this. Peanuts are in pretty much any good sweet food."
"Some of them, yeah." Flare chimed in, glad that Zuma told him about this soon after he showed them that they started cooking. A sigh of relief showed that what he said next implied the last thing he'd want to do to his friends. "I'm just glad I learned about it before the chance came to cause him an allergic reaction."
Claw handed Flare the list of allergies he made and pointed out how much he'd have to work with. "You sure have a lot of food problems to work around."
"I don't mind. It makes everyone else happy after all." Flare assured Claw, and then he got an idea and beamed when he told Claw about it. "Hey, I know! Maybe you could join the Paw Patrol!" Claw was surprised by the sudden offer and gave a stunned look to Flare. The Dalmatian could tell he was confused and explained why he suggested it. "Think about it. You love helping people, and the Paw Patrol is all about that. Once the others warm up to you, it could become an option."
Claw saw what Flare was getting at, but admitted quickly to why he actually helped the people in Barkingburg. "If I'm being honest Flare, while helping the people residing in Barkingburg felt good, I mostly did it to hear them praise me for doing something good."
That did surprise Flare a bit, but he could understand it after thinking for a bit. What he saw in Barkingburg made it seem as if Claw didn't get much praise from the King and queen. "I don't think there's anything wrong with that. Wanting praise for the stuff you do is something we all have in common."
"True, but it's not the priority for you guys." As Claw thought about how things all fell apart, Skye and Marshall entered the lookout.
Once Claw got up to get a drink from the fridge, Skye and Marshall spotted him with Marshall speaking up. "Claw!?" Claw noticed Skye and Marshall by the entrance with Flare coming out, leaving Marshall to start panicking as he charged at Claw. "Don't you touch my brother!"
Flare quickly jumped in front of Claw, putting his paws up to inform Marshall that he wasn't a threat. "Marshall, no!" Marshall stopped in his tracks and saw the look in Flare's eyes with the others arriving as soon as he did. As soon as they saw what was going on, they quickly got in close with Flare speaking up. "He didn't hurt me! I'm fine!"
After everyone walked up to Flare and Marshall were standing, Ryder let Flare explain what as going on with Claw looking ready for battle. "Start from the beginning Flare. What's Claw doing untied?"
Flare realized he couldn't make that part look too easy, deciding to start the best way he could. "He did try to escape, and he tripped on the way out and rolled into a wall, breaking the chair he was tied to. But he didn't even try to hurt me." Marshall started to show remorse as he saw Claw loosen up upon noticing. "I don't think Claw's a bad pup. If he was, he would've come after me, right?" Flare's look of compassion and concern in his eyes was enough to show that he was serious about Claw being a good pup. "Please. At least give him a chance. Snow and Everest believe me already."
Some of others were skeptical at first, but Marshall nodded in response and trusted his brother. "Okay. I believe you Flare. I don't know how I couldn't."
Flare mouthed a smiling thank you to Marshall, who was then met with the hopeful words of Zuma. "I believe you too." Claw started to feel the warmth of the Paw Patrol surrounding him, glad that they were all so welcoming to him. Zuma himself wanted to believe that Claw was still good, and hoped for the best. Claw could feel his hope for that in his voice. "I'm still shocked about what happened in Bawkingbuwg, and I don't know where this'll go, but if there's a chance to stay your fwiend... I'll take it."
Rocky then stepped up to offer his support. He felt he could at least do that for Zuma. "If Zuma's open to it, then so am I. I'll give you a chance Claw."
Skye then spoke up, knowing that Flare wouldn't try lying about something like this, or decieve the others in any way. "Maybe you just need some kind paws to help you."
Chase then walked up to Claw, and despite Claw's concern, Chase smiled as he held his paw out. "I've known Flare long enough to know he wouldn't do this for no reason." Claw smiled and accepted Chase's paw shake. It made him feel good, especially since he and Chase both had strong grips. "Just don't try anything stupid."
Claw then looked to Ryder, who after seeing everyone else being open to it, was open to it himself. He felt there had to be a chance if everyone else was confident in giving it a shot. "I'll get in touch with Caiomhe and see if she and Sweetie are open to visits." Claw couldn't help smiling when he heard Ryder say that. "You at least deserve to know how they feel about this."
Despite Claw's currently mission with Charm, something about this treatment felt... good. It was similar to how he felt when being praised back in Barkingburg... but better. "Thank you. That would be great."
"Just promise you'll try not to claw our faces too hard."
"Marshall!"
The pups all laughed after calling out Marshall on his pun with Claw unable to resist joining in. He just hoped he could stay on track, or find what he really wanted.
Rock music played as Claw started speaking in regards to what was going to happen in the next part of the season two premiere with specific moments being shown. "This week hasn't been easy. The humans here have already heard about my role in Charm's latest plan, so connecting with them is hard. So Flare and Zuma still stand as the only two I'm more than acquaintances with. And I'll have to find some kind of bond to make, since Flare went with Chase and Marshall to the dentist."
Claw finished the announcement with the words Paw Patrol in all blue with red outlines and the title all white with Flare on one and and Marshall on the other. "Next time, Companionship Construction!
