Disclaimer: Yep, you saw it in action. This story is gonna have Claw as a big focus. I hope I can handle his arc well, as I know the thing I'm going for with him is one that needs to be handled with a lot of careful planning put behind it. I hope you enjoy it!
Also, I don't own Paw Patrol.
Paw Patrol X
Friend or Foe arc Episode five: Companionship Construction
Flare was playing outside with Marshall, Chase and Snow, with Marshall throwing a frisbee for the other three to run after. Chase, being the fastest of the Paw Patrol, was able to reach the frisbee first by running ahead at top speed and jumping up. Once he caught the frisbee, he skidded on the ground when landing and dropped the frisbee with a confident grin on his face. "And that my friends, is how you catch a frisbee."
Flare then saw some kind of tug of war toy on the ground and walked up to it with a curious smile. "How have I never noticed this before?"
Marshall, Chase, and Snow walked up to Flare as Chase explained what it was. "Well we never took it out with you to see it before. Must've been used by someone else on the team without us noticing."
Flare grabbed onto one end of the toy with his mouth, smiling excitedly at the sight of what was going to happen. The others quickly caught on, and Marshall was the first to chime in about it. "Alright Flare. You ready to compete against your big brother?" Flare nodded his head yes excitedly with Marshall getting ready to bite down on the toy. "Okay then. But remember, I won't go easy on you." Flare nodded his head yes and when Marshall bit down on the toy, the brothers started pulling. Chase and Snow nodded to each other before joining their sides.
Snow grabbed the end Flare was on to help him, while Chase grabbed the end Marshall was on to give him some assistance. When they joined in, it was clear that Chase and Marshall were winning, thanks to Chase being the strongest canine of the Paw Patrol. Flare and Snow knew they were gonna have to give it their all, and as they eyed each other, they both got the same idea. Once Chase started to look confident again, Flare and Snow tugged at max power, winning over the toy.
Chase and Marshall both rolled back for a bit, and they both laughed it off when they sat up with Snow hi fiving Flare. "Nice tug Flare!" Once the hi five was accepted, Flare and Snow walked over to Chase and Marshall with Snow teasing Chase about his bragging. "And that my friends, is how you pull a rope."
When Chase spoke up to retort however "You only won because-", the first use of an S sounded like a lisp coming from his mouth. He then took out his mirror and looked inside his mouth, finding that one of his front teeth was loose. He moved it a bit, and the other three quickly realized what was going on as Chase spoke up about it. "Welp. At least I know I still have shine in my smile."
Marshall then chimed in with another one of his signature jokes. "That tug must've been the last jaw for that tooth."
"Marshall!" After the other three called Marshall out, the four pups laughed at his bad pun.
Claw was walking up the pathway to the Lookout, and as he was getting closer, he was heard to be venting about something that made his blood boil. "Stupid Barkingburg incident, lingering down to Adventure Bay with me. How can I gain the trust of these humans without that getting in the way." As Claw walked up to the Lookout, he saw the four pups who were playing tug of war earlier discussing Chase's loose tooth. Flare was getting a close look at it as the Doberman walked up to them. "Chase get some food stuck in between his teeth? I hate when that happens."
The others looked to Claw with Marshall explaining what they were actually doing. "No, nothing about food Claw. Chase got a loose tooth while we were playing with a tug of war toy that was left out."
"Oh yeah, that was me." Claw revealed as he walked closer to the group, and he got a good look at the tooth and saw just how loose it was. He laughed a bit when he started wiggling it a bit, annoying Chase a little. "Yep. That looks like a dentist trip just waiting to happen."
Chase flinched upon the mention of the dentist and quickly moved Claw's paw as he rejected the idea. "I think I'd prefer the yanking out method, thanks."
Claw tried not to laugh at Chase's lisp with Flare quickly emphasizing with Chase's rejection. "I can't blame ya there Chase. I'm always worried about whether or not my teeth have to be drilled whenever I go to the dentist." Snow elbowed Flare gently, leaving Flare confused from it. "What? I'm just letting Chase know he's not alone there."
"That's fine, but you could've done it without mentioning the teeth drilling thing." Snow advised Flare, and then she backed up what Flare said there. "But yeah, being scared of something doesn't make you a baby."
Marshall got an alarm for something and checked his phone, and that gave him an idea on how to help Chase. He smiled when he put his phone away and put a paw on Chase's shoulder to let him know what he had in mind. "Ya know Chase, Flare and I have our own dentist appointments to get to. Maybe it'd help to go with a friend?"
Chase thought for a moment, and despite still being scared, he felt that Marshall's idea felt sound. It helped that he was almost as close with Marshall as he was with Skye. "I guess that could work. At least if I'm not the first one to have an appointment."
"I was gonna go first anyway." Flare assured Chase, wanting to get done with his as quick as possible. "Especially since I know it'll only be a teeth cleaning."
Claw then realized that he wouldn't really have anyone to talk to, since Flare was the only one he could actually see as a friend in the Paw Patrol right now. "Hang on. Flare and Zuma are the only ones on the team I've hung out with one on one before, and Zuma told me he's busy writing some song in his room. Who am I supposed to interact with until you get back?"
"Maybe this could be your chance to get to know the rest of us." Snow suggested, feeling that Claw would like the other members of the team. "You seemed to get along with me and Everest when I had that cold last week, but you could use some solo fun with the pups you aren't too familiar with yet."
Claw shrugged in response, feeling that was his only option. Marshall then stated their leave as he got up with Chase and Marshall. "Anyway, we're gonna be heading off to the dentist's office now. And I gotta call them to make a last minute appointment for Chase." He then headed off with the other two to get down to the Dentist. "See ya later!"
Claw and Snow said goodbye to the three pups, and then Snow, unsure of what to do, tried to offer Claw a fun time. "So. You ever chase a frisbee back in Barkingburg?"
"Not really, but it sounds like fun." Claw admitted, finding the idea of catching a frisbee to sound oddly enjoyable.
Flare, Marshall, and Chase were in the waiting room of the Dentist's office with Chase worried about how this was going to go. He saw how happy Flare looked, and it surprised him a bit. Flare had already mentioned that he was usually worried about his dentist trips. How was he so laid back about this? "Hey Flare." Flare looked at Chase, who asked him about how he was so happy. "I thought you said you were always worried about coming to the dentist. How are you so happy right now?"
Flare laughed a bit in response to that question, but Chase didn't react, since he knew it wasn't aimed directly at him. "Well, I don't like the dentist, obviously, but I know it's one of those things no one really has a say in." Flare then brought up something that made Chase remember part of his role on the team. "Besides. You and the others dive into situations you're scared of too."
Chase laughed a bit when Flare pointed that out, realizing that he did exactly that for Skye's birthday. "You got me there buddy."
Flare then took a jab at his own phobia to show that he wasn't absent from the other mindset either. "Believe me though; we're lucky this isn't a hospital. One look at a syringe, and you'd think I was on some kind of sugar rush without the proper context."
Chase and Marshall couldn't help laughing at that statement with the receptionist then calling for Flare. "Flare Munroe! You're ready!"
"Good luck buddy." Marshall told Flare, who went into the dentist's room, breathing in and out to compose himself before the operation. Marshall then moved a seat over to sit next to Chase, letting him know that he was there for him too. "You don't have anything to worry about Chase. I doubt anyone in Adventure Bay would ever try to hurt you."
Chase laughed a bit in response to that. He still remembered a certain someone who tried to get one of the Paw Patrol members out of the picture a while back. "Don't jinx yourself with that one Marshall. We've had our fair share of bad eggs too."
Marshall then became curious about that one and hoped Chase would be willing to share. "Were you in contact with any of them?"
"Just one. And it was an especially poor situation for Zuma." Chase admitted, and Marshall then realized that it was a personal thing he was hearing about. He felt it'd be best to stop there, since he didn't wanna pry on something he'd probably blab about later that day anyway.
Rocky was pulling some kind of wagon that had some recyclables he felt he could use for inventions. He saw Claw and Snow playing nearby and hooked his wagon to the ground with the handle pinning itself to the ground. He then went over to the two of them as Claw was preparing a throw. "Hey Claw. Hey Snow."
Snow was glad to see Rocky, hoping he would be open to making this a three canine event. "Wanna join me and Claw for a round of frisbee catching?"
"Thanks for the offer Snow, but I found some recyclables in town, and I wanna see what I can do with them." Rocky explained, and Claw got a look at the wagon once Rocky said that. Noticing that Claw didn't quite get it, Rocky gave him a quick and easy saying to help. "Hey. As I always say, don't lose it, reuse it!"
Claw still didn't quite get it, but he felt that as long as Rocky made it work, it was worth living with. "As long as you're not hurting anyone." Claw then looked over to where he was attempting to throw the frisbee and decided to try and get a bit of time with Rocky. "At least see how far I can throw this."
"That, I can do." Rocky told Claw, and then Claw got ready for his throw, pulling his arm back and getting ready for the fling. Once he was sure he had it in sight, he threw it at max speed, chasing after it with Snow, only for it to land in a tree near the Lookout.
When the three pups ran over to the tree the frisbee landed in, Claw offered to get it down. "Don't worry. I've got this." Claw barked for his Pup pack to come out, walking over to the tree and getting as high as he could without falling. His pincers then came out, only for them to start acting up, much to Claw's anger. "Seriously; do you ever take your duties seriously!?" Claw stepped down from the tree and took his pup pack off, slamming it onto the ground and surprising Snow and Rocky. "Ever since I crashed into that wall while using you, you've been practically useless!"
Snow was quick to point out how childish Claw was being, picking up a nearby rock as she did. "It's a pup pack dude. It can't hear you." Snow threw the rock at the frisbee and successfully knocked it out of the tree. Once she caught it, she looked closely at how Claw's pup pack was acting. "Still, I'll admit that I'd take a working Pup Pack over one clearly begging to be fired any day."
Claw sighed with frustration with Rocky feeling that he could not only fix his Pup Pack, but make it better than before. His urge to improve it kicked in, and he went for it. "Want me to see what I can do with it?" Claw looked to Rocky, who was ready to help him get a working pup pack. "It should be a feasible task compared to some of the other things I've worked on."
Claw wasn't quite sure what feasible meant, but he felt it was at least worth a shot. He even decided to turn it into a challenge of sorts. "Sounds like a fitting test of your skills Rocky. See if it's as... 'feasible' as it looks." Rocky was up for said challenge too, and he immediately got control of Claw's pup pack, ready to take it back to his room to get to work.
While Chase and Marshall were waiting for Flare's appointment to finish up, the two of them were talking about life with Marshall talking about his feelings for Everest. "And we both wanna have a family in the future; it's perfect! If I do things right, we could become a couple." Chase was happy for Marshall for finding love, and Marshall then asked Chase if there was anything he should know about asking a girl out. "Any chance you know any tips I can use when I ask her out?"
"Don't wait six years to do it." Chase advised Marshall, and the two of them laughed at the jab Chase made at how long it took him to ask Skye out. "And if there's one thing I learned from the Barkingburg trip, it's that communication and trust are everything in a relationship. As long as you're honest with her, your relationship will stay strong."
Marshall was already well aware of that one. Actually, he had a life experience about it from back home. "Believe me, I know that much. Before Flare and I moved here, Margareth found out her first boyfriend was a cheating snake and dumped him with one heck of a door slam." Chase shuddered at the thought of being there for something like that. Marshall then gave him some more details that made him glad he wasn't. "Teenagers are one heck of a moody kind. Makes me kinda scared to see what Flare and I will be like when we become teenagers."
Chase assured Marshall that he would be there to help him with that, since he was the closest to becoming a teen himself. "As the oldest dog in the Paw Patrol, I can tell you right now that I'll have the experience to help you by then." Marshall nodded with gratitude in regards to that with Flare coming out of the dentist's office. Marshall rubbed his head when walking over to them with Chase asking how things went. "Did everything go well in there?"
"You bet it did." Flare gave a big teethy smile to Chase and Marshall, showing that his teeth were all great before he finished what he had to say. "Not one cavity in sight!"
"Great job Flare." Marshall then offered Flare a prize for being so well behaved. "Whatya say tomorrow we go out for ice cream? I think by then the filling will be finished."
Flare nodded his head yes excitedly with the receptionist calling Marshall's name. "Marshall Munroe! You're up!"
Marshall hugged Flare before heading off into the dentist's room, leaving Flare to sit next to Chase while noticing that he was still a little nervous. Flare let Chase know that he was looking out for him, just as much as Chase was for him. "I asked him as I was leaving, and the dentist said you can choose how he deals with it, since it's just a loose tooth." Chase was a little more relieved after he'd heard that. The last thing he wanted was for things to get scary.
In his bedroom, Rocky was doing what he could to make Claw's pup pack functional on a helpful level again. Once he saw the last problem, he quickly acted upon it. "And here's the last of it. A replacement wire should do the trick." Rocky grabbed a replacement wire from one of his drawers, making sure it was small enough to fit into Claw's pup pack. Rocky then saw Science peeking out of his cage once he put the wire into place and smiled when seeing him. Once he put the wire in, he gave some peanut butter to Science so he could eat. "Eat up Science. Even rodents need fuel."
Science happily ate his peanut butter, and once Rocky saw that he was fed, he barked for Claw's pup pack. The pincers came out and flipped the pup pack over, since Rocky forgot to turn it back over. The pup pack seemed to be working normally now, and when Rocky offered a hi five, he was glad to see that the pincers reacted accordingly. "Sensational! I just know Claw will be pleased." Rocky barked again and took the Pup Pack, exiting his room, where Claw and Snow were waiting for him. "Finished!"
Claw accepted his pup back from Rocky, putting it on and barking to tell the pincers to come out. "Pincers." When the pincers came out, Claw saw that they weren't bugging out like they usually did. He was astounded by this and used them to grab Snow's comic.
Snow was... understandably annoyed over her comic being snatched right out from her paws. "Hey, what the heck!?"
"I had to test it on something." Claw barked for the pincers to let go of the comic, which he did, and it was thankfully unharmed. Snow took the comic back and saved her place as Claw thanked Rocky for his help with immense gratitude. "Thanks a ton Rocky. You have no idea how annoying it was struggling to use this thing."
"Always happy to help." Rocky assured Claw, and then he informed him of a little something else he did for the pup pack. "I also added a little something in there after putting in the last wire, so now if you wipeout with the pincers out again, it should be able to survive the crash with no injuries."
Claw was amazed when he heard that, and Snow was quick to point out how typical this was for Rocky. "That's Rocky for ya. Taking what's broken, and turning it into something even better." Claw barked to put his pincers away with Snow elaborating on what she said. "At least for stuff like this. Just don't go to him for a new heart."
Claw nodded with a laugh to respond to that, and Claw then decided to hang out with Rocky some more. "Maybe some of that stuff you found can make for some good crushing exercises." Rocky liked the sound of that, and with his smile, he headed off with Claw and Snow to fulfill this suggestion.
Flare and Chase were in the waiting room as they waited for Marshall to get out from his appointment. Flare became curious about something and looked to Chase to see if he could help him with it. "Hey Chase?" Chase looked at Flare, who asked his question point blank. "What do you think of Claw?"
Chase thought about that question for a moment, since it was clear there was more to Claw than the Barkingburg attack. "If I had to say... we probably aren't best friends, but I can totally see us getting along if we were hanging out together. So maybe overtime, we'll become really good friends." Chase laughed a bit as he spoke up about something regarding Claw. "It helps that he's got Marshall's habit of wiping out at random too."
Flare laughed a bit before making his response to that. "Yeah." Flare then started to think about where Claw would be on the Paw Patrol. If he became a member that is. "So... you have police officer, Marshall has firefighter, Zuma has water patrol, Rocky has recycling pup, Skye has air pup, and Snow has being your backup during the serious cop related missions. What can you see Claw doing if HE joins the team?"
"Resident hot head?" Chase commented slyly, laughing with Flare at the jab of Claw's temper. Once they calmed down however, Chase gave a serious answer to the question. "Actually, I can see him being a really good security guard. At least if we ever needed someone to stand outside the Lookout overnight."
Marshall then left the dentist's office and walked up to Flare and Chase, smiling as he saw the two of them getting along. "How're my two best friends in the whole world doing?"
"Great as usual." Flare informed Marshall happily, always being glad to spend time with a friend. "Chase just gave me the idea of Claw being the Paw Patrol security guard if he joins the team!"
Marshall did think that sounded fitting, and the receptionist then called for Chase. "Chase Armitage! I HOPE I spelled that right. Your turn!"
Chase gulped in response, and Marshall patted his shoulder once he stepped down for comfort. "Just think happy thoughts Chase. It's gonna be okay." It would be, so long as Chase didn't blow off in the dentist's face. He went into the dentist's office with Marshall sitting next to Flare, wrapping his arm around his younger brother and allowing him to scoot a little closer to him.
Claw was currently crushing stuff with his new pincers with Snow and Rocky watching closely as he barked to crush a metal scrap. Snow and Claw were both impressed by the raw power Claw's pincers possessed now. Rocky wasn't kidding when he said he'd managed to improve the material. Claw was ecstatic when he saw just how much power his pincers had from that last one. "I can get used to this!"
Claw laughed a bit as he crushed the rest of the metal plate, and as he did so, Snow pointed out just how happy it made him. "Despite my mixed thoughts about the situation, (Looks at Rocky) Claw seems genuinely grateful Rocky."
"I'm just glad I was able to fix something and make someone happy at the same time." Rocky replied, and then he saw Claw crushing a rock with his pincers and cheering when he did. Rocky admitted to another reason he helped Claw. "And I know Claw means a lot to Zuma. I'm hoping this can lead him closer to the path where they're still friends."
"So there's the bonus of getting Zuma to love you more at the end of this little story." Snow teased Rocky playfully, which Rocky gave a smiling eye roll to, since Snow didn't do it in a condescending way. Snow then asked a genuine question about Claw. "How do you think YOUR friendship with him will be later on?"
Rocky saw how happy Claw was, and had to admit that he was glad to see him like this. It made it easier for him to answer Snow's questions. "I can certainly see us being good friends. And not just because we're both close with Zuma."
Snow smiled when she heard that, feeling she could also become good friends with Claw over time. Claw then crushed two rocks in one and boasted in response to it. "Yes! Claw Rakusen's new pincers know no bounds with raw power!" Snow offered Rocky a hi five for his efforts paying off, which the mixed breed happily accepted.
Flare and Marshall were waiting for Chase to come out of the dentist's office, and when he did, Chase looked very happy and relieved. Flare and Marshall got up when he walked up to them with Marshall asking how everything went. "So how did it go?"
"It was surprisingly safer than I thought it'd be." Chase admitted, starting to wonder what he was so scared of before. "The doctor pulled my tooth out, and it was a lot less painful than it sounded." Chase then showed Flare and Marshall his pulled tooth. And it was a big one. "Check it out."
Flare and Marshall were impressed by the size of the tooth with Flare speaking up about it. "That sure is a big tooth Chase! Maybe the tooth fairy will give you a bonus for it!"
Chase wasn't sure what Flare meant by that, and Marshall then informed him of the flaw with his wording. "The tooth fairy doesn't exist Flare. She's just a fairy tale parents make up to make kids feel more comfortable about losing their teeth."
Flare gained a look of realization upon hearing that, but he wasn't upset by the revelation. "Oh." Flare then became curious about who was actually giving him the money he got from his loose teeth. When he left the dentist's office with Chase and Marshall, he asked about who that was. "So was that mom leaving us all that teeth money."
"Yep." Marshall confirmed, and then the dogs all got into their respective cars with Marshall letting Flare know about one thing regarding loose teeth. "For the record, baby teeth can never get as big as the one Chase had pulled out." Flare nodded in response to that, and then he strapped in his seat belt with Marshall driving off next to Chase. Inside Chase's car, he was whistling through his new mouth gap, and Flare and Marshall couldn't help but laugh upon hearing it. This led to a confident grin from Chase, showing that he felt great about the whole ordeal.
Chase then set his car to auto-drive as he looked at his tooth, wondering if he could actually get money for it. He felt it wouldn't hurt to talk to Marshall about it after they got back to the Lookout. After all, he knew way more about this trading tooth for money stuff than he did.
Claw was watching Tv with Rocky and Snow, having decided to take a break from smashing things with his pincers. The show they were watching seemed to be something Claw was interested in. It was then shown that the show in question had a knight having an epic sword battle with a dragon's horns. When the knight started running on the dragon after jumping on it's head, Claw started to cheer with excitement. "Heck yeah! Go in for the kill!"
As the show continued to go on, Claw was watching in anticipation as the knight ran up to the back of the dragon and stabbed it right down the middle. Once the dragon let out a battle cry, Snow joked about how badly that must've hurt him. "That's gonna leave a mark." The dragon cried in pain as the knight ran down his head with his sword slashing his body.
Once the knight finished slashing the dragon, it split open, leaving Claw to pump his fist as in response to it. "Alright! That's what I'm talkin' about!"
Claw have two hi fives to Snow and Rocky, one for each of them, just as Flare, Marshall, and Chase came into the Lookout with Chase talking about his loose tooth. "Maybe I could use this as some kind of backup weapon in case I lose my weapon's belt at any point."
"But wouldn't your weapon's belt be the thing you carry it in?" Marshall reminded Chase, who then gave a dumbfounded smile as he joined the other three pups in the living room with Flare and Marshall.
Claw got a look at Chase's tooth and couldn't help but be impressed by the size of it. "Wow! Someone turned into a dinosaur for a day! You sure that came from your mouth?"
"The dentist pulled it out himself." Chase informed Claw, who knew he had to see what Chase could bite into after seeing a tooth like that.
Flare then saw what the others were watching, and they were currently at a part that looked as if it was about to get rather seductive. "What's that dude in the armor about to do to the Princess?"
Marshall panicked and covered Flare's eyes, much to his disappointment as Marshall rejected the idea of him seeing it. "Nothing you need to know about!"
Chase, who'd already covered Snow's eyes upon seeing this scene, paused the movie with Snow scoffing at the fact of movie time being stopped. "Weak."
Outside, Claw was demonstrating to Flare, Marshall, and Chase, what Rocky managed to do for his pup pack as he picked up a nearby rock with his pincers. They were already amazed to see them working properly, but they were about to become even more amazed with what Claw was about to demonstrate. "Now I know what you're thinking. Claw's pup pack working? How could it be? Well my colleagues, thanks to our good friend Rocky, I now not only have working pincers again at last, but they're even better than they were when I originally started using them!"
Claw barked for the pincers to break the rock, and they did so without any struggle. Flare, Marshall, and Chase were impressed by this with Flare being glad to see Claw's pup pack working again. Rocky then spoke humbly about how the work on the pup pack wasn't a huge deal. "It was no big deal really. I just helped Claw knowing that I could."
Flare walked up to Claw, getting a good look at his pincers, which Claw took notice to. He barked after snickering a bit and had the pincers bonk Flare on the head softly, making him laugh a bit. "Hey!" After Marshall raised a sly eyebrow to Claw as a friendly warning, Flare brought up something that peaked Claw's interests. "Just think about how much stuff you can do with your new pincers Claw! Maybe now you can start using them to help the people in Adventure Bay, just like you did back in Barkingburg!"
"Hey now, there's an idea." Claw replied, taking one heck of a liking to that idea. Now he could finally make the people in Adventure Bay like him. "Maybe now I can get some friendly faces from more than just Richie and Katie."
"It sure would be great to see that happen Claw." Chase assured Claw, knowing that these pincers would be of great help to anyone in town. "You'll really like the people here once they start to warm up to you."
Claw was glad to hear that, and he then go a call on his earpiece, which he quickly had to cover up once the others noticed. "That's um... my new cellphone! They're probably calling me about the paytranage or something. This has to be private!"
Claw rushed off, leaving the others confused as Flare then looked to Snow as he walked up to her with an idea. "Wanna spar in the training room?"
"Sure." Snow answered, always happy to have a sparring match with Flare, and the two friends headed off to do that.
Once Claw was sure he was alone, he answered the call and allowed Charm to start talking, being slightly annoyed at how long it took. "That took you at least a minute Claw. You'd better have a good excuse for this."
"Not everyone is as fast at answering calls as others?" Claw responded bluntly, and he then got to wondering what Charm wanted with him. "Why did you call anyway? Wouldn't it make more sense to call me at night when everyone's asleep?"
"I don't know when you're alone or not at all times." Charm reminded Claw, and then he asked about his progress. "How's progress coming with your time with the Paw Patrol?"
Claw started to become conflicted upon mention of the Paw Patrol, since he was genuinely enjoying his time with them. He didn't want Charm to know that however, so he did his best to hide that aspect. "I'm certainly getting somewhere. Rocky fixed my pup pack and made it even better, so we can use that for efficient device breaking if needed."
"Good to know. I'll keep small devices in mind for that." Charm informed Claw, and then he informed him of the use he made of the Dragon's Tooth. "I also got to work on the Dragon's Tooth, and I managed to take six dragons into submission. I made sure they were skilled dragons as well, so they should be more than efficient when I finally go through with my big plan."
When Claw heard how many dragons Charm had on him, he started to worry about how their families would feel about this. "Don't they have families back where they live?"
"Why would we care about them?" Charm asked coldly, and then he reminded Claw of the current phase of the plan. "Remember the plan Claw. Gain the trust of the Paw Patrol, get a good look at every corner of Adventure Bay, and determine the exact area you think my base would be best suited for. Learn everything you have to for success." Charm then finished with something that frightened Claw to no end. "Your loved ones won't make it if you fail."
"Y-y-yes sir!"
"And cut the 'sir' crap. I hate titles."
Charm ended the call there, and Claw started to wonder if what he was doing was the right call. Could he really turn his back on those who were kind enough to give him another shot at a normal, happy life?
Chase and Marshall were watching Flare and Snow's sparring match with Rocky, and as Rocky was inspecting their every move, Chase got Marshall's attention. "Hey Marshall?" Marshall looked to Chase, who hoped he wouldn't come off the wrong way by asking this. "Not that I don't appreciate you helping me with the dentist, but why did you take me to yours and Flare's appointments today?"
"Well..." Marshall began, having to admit that there was something he'd been concerned about for a while. "I guess it would help show that I care about you too." Chase was surprised by that, and Marshall then elaborated on it. "Now hear me out. You did everything you could to help me when I was struggling with pressure after first joining the team. And I can't help you with that myself because you can already handle yourself during a mission. But in this instance, I thought I could actually help."
Chase smiled when Marshall told him that, and couldn't help being grateful for the help. He was glad he was able to help Marshall during the time he was struggling to really make his name on the team. And now, he knew for a fact that he and Marshall were going to stay friends for a long time to come. And best friends at that. And they were both incredibly happy about that. "Thanks Marshall. And I may need your help in that category later down the line. I just won't know when."
Marshall nodded in response to that, and after they did their signature handshake, Rocky couldn't help laughing a bit as he joined in. "Not to ruin the moment, but you may want your new tooth to come in soon Chase." The comment on Chase's new look caused Chase and Marshall to look at each other, and the two best friends then started laughing as well. Flare and Snow were still having their sparring match, and the two of them were heavily invested with one final punch collision showing just how close the two pups were in terms of raw skill and power.
Rock music played as Flare started speaking in regards to what was going to happen in the next part of the season two premiere with specific moments being shown. "Our first Valentine's Day in Adventure Bay! Hehe. That rhymes. You can really feel love in the air around this time, can't you. Wow, Rocky and Zuma sure do seem excited about this one. Hey. Maybe today will be the day Rocky and Zuma finally become a couple! I just know it'd be great for both of them to finally get together."
Flare finished the announcement with the words Paw Patrol in all blue with red outlines and the title all white with Flare on one and and Marshall on the other. "Next time, Valentine Pups! (Flare was shown listening to Rocky, who seemed rather anxious about being able to ask out Zuma) I'm sure he'd say yes even if it's not perfect Rocky.
