Paw Patrol X
Friend or Foe arc Episode nine: Sister of Skye Bartlam
About a week after the... eventful, Truth or Dare, Flare was practicing gun control with Snow, who was teaching him how to aim the gun properly. At the moment, she was letting him know how important it was to make sure the safety was off when not using it. "And you gotta make sure the safety's off if you don't have to shoot anything. One bad shot, and you could be the cause of some massive damage."
Flare shuddered at the thought of accidentally shooting one of his friends. It's one of the reasons he used to stay away from firearms. "Believe me; I know. Marshall and I used to stay away from them after an incident we were there for in Twin Flame Island." When Snow was about to ask what that meant, Flare quickly rejected the idea. "You're better off not knowing."
Snow decided to take Flare's word on that, and then she noticed that the trigger was pointed at her and helped Flare point it forward. "Try shooting that apple. Keep both eyes open, and since this is your first time holding a handgun, I'd recommend holding it with both paws. Chase made sure I knew that before I started doing it with one paw."
Flare focused his aim on the gun, and he then pulled the trigger and successfully hit the apple, much to his joy. "Yes!" However, the bullet he fired was shown going for Skye's helicopter as she hung up the phone looking sad. It shocked Skye as the bullet got stuck in her windshield, and she and Snow showed immense fear when they saw it.
As Skye's helicopter landed, Flare and Snow rushed on over, and Flare turned the safety off of the gun before Skye opened the hatch, catching Snow's eye. "Nice."
Skye hopped out of her helicopter with Flare and Snow being relieved that she was okay, and Flare instantly apologized for almost shooting her. "I'm so sorry Skye! Are you okay!?"
"Yeah, I'm fine. My windshield stopped the bullet," Skye then looked at the windshield as she finished that sentence. "as you can probably tell upon first glance." Flare and Snow sighed of relief to find out Skye wasn't hurt, and Skye then expressed something else she was feeling. "Actually... even if it would've upset me normally, which it wouldn't, I just got off the phone with my sister. I found out my family's coming to town."
Flare and Snow didn't quite understand why Skye was sad about that, and Flare was the first to speak up about it. "Isn't that a good thing?"
"Yeah. When I first moved here, you couldn't shut up about how close you and your sister were." Snow revealed, and then she elaborated on what she thought that was about. "A comfort mechanism that was more condescending than intended."
Skye was glad to have moved past that, but she then started to mention why she was sad. "I remember. Here's the thing about that actually."
The next day, Flare and the others were arriving at the animal hospital with Chase and Snow comforting Skye as the former spoke up. "No one's gonna blame you if things get to intense Skye. If you need to take a breather, just let us know, and take as much time as you need."
Skye nodded in response to that, and Snow then backed that up with what she knew about Skye's sister. "And if what you said about your sister is true, then she won't go all diva over this."
Skye was grateful for the supportive words, but it didn't make things much easier when she and the others arrived at her sister's hospital room. Skye breathed in with her nose and out from her mouth before speaking to herself with assurance. "Here goes nothing." Skye opened the hospital room door, and she was the first to enter as the others waited for her to give the go ahead. She put on a smile, hoping to give her sister the support she needed. "Hi Amy."
Amy was revealed to be a Cockapoo like Skye, seeming to be about five years older than her little sister. She was happy to see Skye, and despite looking weak, she showed it clearly. "Hi Skye. Great to see ya."
Skye walked over to her sister, and she hoped she wouldn't mind keeping things off of her condition for now. "Do you... do you wanna meet my friends?"
"Yeah, I'd love to." Amy answered cheerfully, making Skye relieved that she didn't kill the mood as Amy then commented on her condition. "At least then I'll be thinking about something other than my next treatment session."
Skye signaled her friends to come in, introducing them one at a time so she could get Amy caught up efficiently. "Here's everyone you need to know Amy. My boyfriend Chase," Chase gave a supportive smile to Amy while also giving a salute. "My leader Ryder, and our co leader Richie," Ryder gave a thumbs up to Amy, and Richie waved to her. Skye then introduced the others, who all showed their personalities in their own ways. "and my friends Snow, Everest, Zuma, Marshall, Flare, Rocky, and Claw."
Amy was happy for Skye in regards to having so many friends surrounding her. She was always glad to see those she cared about in good company. "It's nice to meet you all. And to learn that Skye found someone she loved." Chase gave a confident grin to Amy, which showed her that he was someone who could protect and support Skye all he could. Amy then explained where their parents were, since they weren't in the room. "Mom and dad are checking out Adventure Bay so they know for sure that it's a safe town."
"You mean an animal rescue team being in this town isn't enough proof for them?" Flare pointed out, not exactly getting why Skye's parents felt the need to do that.
"I think she means they want to be sure this is a safe place to be even without the Paw Patrol being here Flare." Marshall clarified, having a feeling he knew what Amy meant as he looked to her for an answer. "If I had to guess, they're doing this to make sure you'll be safe here while you recover."
"That's right." Amy confirmed, even though it'd be pretty obvious even without it. She then figured the others were wondering what her condition was. "And I bet you're all wondering what led to me coming down here on one day notice."
Claw was quick to confirm that Amy was right about that. "It crossed our minds once or twice on the way over here. Don't they have a hospital where you live?"
"They do, but we felt it'd be best to go someplace warmer for my treatment. And I picked Adventure Bay just in case the worst case scenario happened." Amy then revealed what she was talking about with a noticeable voice crack. "Three days ago, we learned that... I have cancer."
Everyone except Skye was taken aback by that, and Flare stepped closer to Amy as he brought up how awful that must be for her. "Cancer!? That sound scary!"
Amy nodded her head yes to confirm that with Rocky asking about when they caught it. "How long did it take you to notice after you got it? Catching it early can be a big benefactor in overcoming the odds."
"Then it's a good thing I had a doctor's appointment scheduled for the day I started showing it." Amy answered, making Skye relieved that it didn't take them long to find out about this. She still couldn't help stressing over the thought of losing her sister however. "Like I said, I chose to come down here in case I ended up dying because of this. If my last days are because of this condition... I wanna spend them with all of my family, including Skye." The looks of sorrow on Skye an Amy said it all. "If this kills me... then I at least wanna say goodbye to Skye."
Skye couldn't help bursting into tears after hearing that, hugging Amy as soon as she did. Amy tried her best to be strong for the both of them. Flare couldn't imagine what this was like. He knew cancer existed, but he'd never seen it like this before. Amy looked somewhat weak, as if some of her energy was gone for a while now. And the horror in Skye's eyes made it clear how big of a toll this was taking on her. He'd never wish this upon anyone, not even those who did wrong in the world. It was too scary of a thought for him to ever do so.
Outside of Amy's hospital room, Chase and Snow were sitting next to Skye on opposite ends as she let the others know she wouldn't be upset if they left. "You guys don't have to cancel any plans you might have for me." The others wanted to make sure Skye wouldn't actually be hurt, so she finished what she had to say before then. "It won't say anything bad about you. I know you all well enough to know you wouldn't be leaving out of disrespect."
Zuma was the first to speak up, knowing that he and Rocky had something they had to do for sure. "We do have to talk about our vacation with my pawents soon." Zuma hopped out of his chair and walked up to Skye, letting her know that he'd be there for her. "I'm here if you need me dudette. Thanks for being so undewstanding."
Skye nodded her head yes, and Rocky spoke up before he walked off with Zuma. "I know what it's like to lose a family member. I know it's hard to think about, and I hope I word this right, but if you need to talk in the worst possible outcome, then just let me know."
Skye appreciated that, and Rocky and Zuma made their leave as Marshall then brought up something he had to do. "Believe it or not, Flare and I have a vacation planned too. It's been months since we spent a lot of time with mom and Margareth, and the last time we went there had Flare searching for that Twin Flame Scorpion venom with Snow."
"I know they'd appreciate that." Skye said in response, knowing that Marshall was a family pup more than anything. "I'll be okay."
Marshall hopped out of his chair as he let Skye know she could talk to him as well. "I was in a similar spot you were in after my dad died. If Chase and Snow aren't around and I am, come talk to me."
Skye was grateful for that, and Flare then made a request as Marshall walked over to him. "Is it okay if I stay Marshall?"
Marshall didn't have any objections to that. He knew Flare wanted to see if he could help Skye in her time of need. "Of course! It's better if some of us stay anyway, and we don't know if Chase and Snow could be needed for a mission."
Everest hopped out of her chair and went over to Skye, hugging her before she headed out. "I think Chase and Snow would be best for supporting you right now." Everest pulled Skye away as she let her know she was there for her. "Give me a call if you need me."
Skye nodded with gratitude before Everest headed off herself, and the Husky joined Marshall to see if she could bond with him some more. Claw then made his leave, feeling he wouldn't be the best here as he told Skye about it. "I'm not good at this stuff. Honestly; it's a miracle I didn't get emotional already. It's best if I go." Skye understood that, and Claw made his leave, wishing he could handle this stuff better. As Chase and Snow let Skye talk about how she was feeling and listened carefully, Flare started thinking of a way he could help Skye with this process.
After Marshall and Everest arrived back home at the Lookout, Marshall turned his tablet on and sat down on his bed, since they were in his and Flare's room. When he made the call, it took a few seconds, but Wave did pick up. She was always happy to see her children. "Hi Marshall! Is Adventure Bay still treating you and Flare well?"
"You bet mom!" Marshall answered, hoping that the vacation in Twin Flame Island was still on. "We're still excited to see you and Margareth though. Do you guys know when the best time for us to come on down would be?"
"We should both be free when March starts." Wave informed her son, but in reality, she was always ready to see him. "Still; as busy as I am, I can always make time for you."
Marshall was glad to hear there was a plan coming along, and Everest then put herself in view of Marshall's web cam as she greeted Wave. "Don't let me ruin this heartwarming moment, but when do you think I'll be able to visit Twin Flame Island? I wanna see where the Dalmatian Sunshine Boys grew up!"
Wave was flattered to hear that, and decided to make a compromise with Everest in regards to that. "I'll tell you what Everest. If Flare and Marshall are okay with it, and Margareth is okay with having guest visitors again, you can come on down."
Everest was happy to hear that, and Marshall then explained why Flare wasn't there. "Sorry Flare couldn't be here for this call mom. Skye's sister came down here for cancer treatment and he wanted to stay behind to see how he could help her."
Wave couldn't help being heartbroken when she heard that, knowing how serious cancer was. "Oh, Skye must feel awful right now! Please, send her my condolences." Marshall gave Wave a thumbs up with Wave then getting a business call and having to end the call early. "And my boss is calling. Bye sweetie! Bye Everest!"
"Bye mom! See ya next week!" Marshall responded as Everest waved goodbye herself, and then Marshall ended the call.
Everest then got a theory in mind and asked Marshall if it sounded right. "You think cancer could be what killed your dad?"
"No, I don't think that's it." Marshall answered, feeling that it didn't sound right considering his symptoms. "All mom told us was that it was for a new illness that they couldn't identify completely." Everest couldn't help getting suspicious when she heard that. Was Wave hiding something from her kids about their father's death?
Back at the hospital, Flare was returning to where Chase, Skye, and Snow were with a soda as Chase was talking to Skye about the situation. "And maybe once Amy gets better, we can let you spend some one on one sister time with her. Or she can hang out with the rest of us too and get to know all of us."
Skye liked the sound of both of those, and she seemed more fond of the second one. "I would like to see how she gets along with the rest of you. (Looks at Chase) Especially you Chase."
Snow chimed in with a suggestion that she felt would be handy. "Why don't we do what we did with Everest when she joined the team? Have her spend time with each of us one on one and see what we're all about?"
Skye nodded her head yes excitedly for that, and then Chase got a call on his pup phone and knew he had to see this. "Sorry; must've forgotten to take this off silent mode." Chase got a look at the phone and saw that there was a hostage situation about one of Bloodfreak's former gang members. "Great. Perfect timing guys." Chase felt awful for what he had to do, wishing he didn't have to leave Skye. "Sorry Skye. Snow and I will have to head out for this one."
"Saving lives is more important than helping me with Amy's situation." Skye assured Chase and Snow, knowing that they couldn't just ignore this duty. "Hopefully Amy's treatment will be done soon."
Chase kissed Skye's cheek as Snow hugged her, and then he spoke up as they rushed off. "Love you baby!"
"Love you too!" Skye called out, and then she got a peek into Amy's room. Her treatment was still going on. Skye sighed, knowing it was gonna be some time before she could continue talking to Amy.
Flare decided to take action, and after sipping his soda again, he walked over to Skye and sat down next to her. He wasn't entirely sure what to say, so he decided to start off with what was on his mind. "At least you get to say goodbye to her." Skye looked at Flare when he said that, and when he noticed her reaction, he explained what he meant further in the hopes that he didn't hurt her. "I just meant that it's better this way! You can be here if she doesn't make it."
Flare then showed empathy towards Skye's pain, knowing that losing a family member had to be painful. "Marshall might not have told you this, but our dad died the day after I was born. I didn't get to feel anything about it, but Marshall told me how hard it was on all of them." Flare was seemingly trying to hide remorse about something deeper than what he was saying. Hoping he was succeeding at it, he continued. "Even though I didn't understand what was going on at the time... I know it's the worst possible feeling in the world to lose a family member. Or when it looks like you're about to."
Skye was surprised to see this side of Flare. Not his empathetic side; she knew about that. But she never heard him speaking this... profoundly. "I'm sorry you never got to meet your dad Flare. I know you would've been close." Flare appreciated that, but he wasn't focusing on that right now. This was about Skye. That's why he let her talk about Amy right after that. "There were a lot of things Amy wants to do before she passes on." Flare then realized something he could do in order to help Skye with Amy. "I forgot some of the things that were on her list."
"Were any of them food related?" Flare asked, and Skye caught onto what he was trying to do as he elaborated. "Cause if it's about cooking a food she's always wanted to try, maybe we can whip it up for a surprise dinner for Amy! Maybe not as a last meal, but to help her do something on her list!"
Skye loved the idea, and she hoped Flare would be up for what she had in mind. "Amy would love that!" Skye then realized how hard one of the food related things would be. "Oh, but one of the foods she wanted to try is lobster! I can't ask you to taste that."
"Then let's make it together." Flare offered, knowing that it would feel better if Skye had a paw in this. She became incredibly touched when Flare finished his statement. "After all, it'd mean the most to her if you had a hand in it."
Skye didn't know what to say. Flare really was trying to help her in the best way she could. She shook her head and got down to business instead. "Then let's get to work!"
"Alright!" Flare and Skye hopped out of their chairs as Flare pointed something out. "And we should also find out if we actually have to taste it too, since it'll be the first time for both of us." Flare and Skye rushed out of the hospital, but not before leaving a note at the receptionist's desk saying that they would be back as soon as they could.
Back at the Lookout, Flare and Skye were rushing up to the front door with what they needed, and they entered the Lookout just as Marshall and Everest were about to leave. Flare quickly gave an idea as to what they were doing so the others knew what they were planning. "Cooking lobster for Skye's sister; I looked it up and I don't have to taste it to cook it right; we'll be fine!"
Marshall and Everest were a little confused by that, but after they left the Lookout, Everest was quick to point out how efficient Flare and Skye looked there. "Those two sure do look determined. Just imagine if Flare became the official chef of the Paw Patrol after he joined."
Marshall flinched at the mention of that, still being skeptical about Flare joining the team as he scratched the back of his head. "Well, he kind of already is."
"Yeah, fair point." Everest then noticed how nervous Marshall looked and hoped he was okay. "Are you okay Marshall? You look a little tense."
Marshall wasn't sure what he could say to cover this up. It didn't help with the lying quirk he had. He sighed as he and Everest walked onward and hoped she'd understand. "I'll be honest Everest. At first, I was all for Flare joining the Paw Patrol with all of his training. But after the mission in Prison City, and the attack in Barkingburg..." Marshall looked at Everest, and she saw the fear in his eyes as he finished what he had to say. "I'm worried I'll lose him if he joins."
Everest could definitely emphasize with Marshall there, as it was exactly how he felt when it came to protecting Snow. She had an idea that she hoped would work out. "Ya know Marshall, I learned a lot about survival when Snow and I were on our own. I could teach you some of the stuff I learned, and then you can teach it to Flare."
"I guess that'd help." Marshall replied, despite still being conflicted about all of this. He looked to the ground with sorrow, wishing he wasn't keeping this from Flare. "Maybe then I'll stop fearing for the worst. I hoped the promise I made to him last month would've helped there." Marshall clearly had a lot of regret in his eyes from hiding this from Flare. He hoped that everything would work out for the best with both of them.
Flare and Skye were currently working on the lobster, and Skye set the oven to just right temperature as Flare was putting the finishing touches on it. After he was done making it just right, Skye opened up the oven when she saw him bringing it over. He put it in carefully, and then Skye closed the oven when his paws were out of the way. After they did this, Flare was happy to report that they were almost done. "Alright Skye. The lobster should be ready in fifteen minutes. In the meantime, we should make sure the mac n cheese and asparagus are up to par with it."
"Sounds good to me." Skye replied, and she and Flare went to do exactly that. Even though Flare did most of the work, he still looked to Skye to make sure what to do with each dish for Amy's tastes. She didn't like garlic, so he used kosher salt for seasoning. She wasn't a picky eater however, hence why they had a side dish and a vegetable. Skye appreciated what Flare was doing, knowing that this was a lot for someone he'd just met. "Thanks for doing this Flare. Amy's gonna love it."
"Hey, I'm not the only one working here." Flare reminded Skye, knowing that she was still playing a part in this. "Yeah, I'm doing at least eighty percent of the work, but you're still playing a part in this. And you're also gonna be the one to serve it to Amy."
Skye was aware of that last part. The smile on Amy's face was gonna be worth it. "Even if she doesn't make it, at least she'll have this to look forward to before she passes on." Flare smiled when he saw that Skye was thinking positive thoughts now. That was a step in the right direction. "Even though I'll still be a crying mess if I have to attend her funeral at eleven years old."
Flare got that, as he knew death was painful for everyone. He was glad he was able to let Skye know that he was there for her in his own way. "What does Amy like to do for fun? Maybe we can bring some joy back into her life by doing some of the stuff she likes."
"Well she loves animals for one." Skye informed Flare, remembering a time she spent with Amy before she joined the Paw Patrol. "One time when I was three, she brought me to this animal orphanage she was helping out on. She let me see all the animals she was helping find new homes for. There were rabbits, birds, and even dogs like us."
Flare thought about what an animal orphanage sounded like, and he hoped he had the right idea. "That sounds kind of like the first place Zuma ended up before he came here."
"I think it was." Skye admitted, but then she had more context to spare. "The main difference is that this orphanage allowed more than just dogs, and we don't know if the orphanage Zuma lived in was like that."
Flare had to admit that he could see why Skye and Amy were so close. And also how Skye got her love for bunnies. "Either way, that explains why you love bunnies so much." Skye giggled a bit when Flare said that, having to admit that he was on point with that one.
Back at the animal hospital, Flare and Skye were bringing their lobster dish to Amy; with permission from the staff of course. Once they got to the outside of her room, Flare nodded to Skye with a confident smile when she looked at him with concern. She wanted this to go well, and she was only now worrying if Amy had changed her mind. One thing she knew however, was that she couldn't back out of this now. Instead, she opened the door, and when she did, Amy instantly noticed her and set down the book she was reading to greet her and Flare. "Hey sis! Hey Flare!"
"Hi Amy." Skye responded, bringing the lobster dish over to Amy with Flare helping it go over her to the other side, like some hospitals did. Amy wasn't quite sure what was going on, and Skye was quick to explain it. "Flare and I talked about how you wanted to do some things while you were still around. Once I brought up a certain food you've always wanted to try, Flare was quick to offer to help me make it so we could help you cross that off your bucket list."
Flare hopped up onto the bed to with a bright smile to show how much he loved doing it. "I just know you'll taste the amount of love that was put into this!"
Amy was grateful for the gesture, and she took the top off of the plate to find that it was in fact, the lobster dish Flare and Skye prepared. Amy was amazed by what she saw and had no idea what to say. Lobster, mac n cheese, and asparagus? They really made all of this for her? And to top it off, it all looked amazing! Amy couldn't help crying tears of joy as she picked up the provided silverware. Skye was worried at first, but quickly realized they were tears of joy.
Amy took her first bite of the lobster, and as soon as she did, the amount of love she had for it proved that it was cooked perfectly. The bite was like heaven in her mouth. After swallowing the bite, she looked at Flare and Skye, being amazed by what they did for her. "Thank you both." Flare and Skye could see that this was exactly what Amy needed.
And just then, Skye's parents came in; a male Poodle, and a female Cocker spaniel. When they did, they were amazed to find that Amy was eating lobster for the first time. She was absolutely adoring it too, and as they observed the situation, they then saw Flare and Skye. The mother spoke up almost immediately, as she knew what this meant. She loved the gesture she made for her sister as well. "Skye. Did you prepare this meal for your sister?"
"Well... kind of." Skye gave a sheepish giggle as she then admitted to something important about the dish. "Flare did most of the work. I just let him know what Amy's tastes were and did the mac n cheese."
"Come on now. You know what I always say." Skye's father spoke up, knowing that Skye's contribution still mattered. "Doing something, is better than doing nothing."
Skye and Amy rolled their eyes while smiling at their dad's catchphrase. Flare was quick to point out why as well. "Yeah, I'm with these two on that one. At least Marshall's puns are the kind of corny you can laugh at." The others couldn't help laughing at Flare's joke, leaving Flare glad that he was able to make a good first impression. The thought of Chase being liked by Skye's parents however, was a thought that entered his mind.
Later that day, everyone was back at the hospital with Chase now talking to Skye's parents, knowing how hard this had to be for them. "I'm just sorry this is happening right now. It must be awful dealing with a family member having cancer."
"It hasn't been easy." Skye's father assured him, not wanting to sugarcoat his emotions. "But we're getting by the best we can."
Chase could definitely appreciate that. He also made sure to let them know just how much Skye meant to him. "I know Amy will appreciate that. And I'm gonna be right here for Skye until Amy recovers, and even after that. Until the end and evermore. You have my word." Skye kissed Chase's cheek lovingly, always appreciating how much he loved her.
"Thank you Chase." Skye's mother then spoke up about Flare's cooking skills, since Skye had already given them the details. "We also greatly appreciate the meal you prepared for her Skye. Where did Flare learn to cook lobster?"
"Believe it or not, it was HIS first time too." Skye admitted, finding it almost unbelievable that she and Flare got it right on the first go. "I don't know what it is about Flare's cooking skills, but he always seems to be able to cook up a masterpiece with whatever he's given."
Chase then nuzzled Skye's cheek lovingly as he assured her that he would always love her cooking too. "Not that you wouldn't be able to do that yourself, of course." Skye's parents could tell that the love Chase and Skye had for each other was genuine. It warmed their hearts to see that Skye had such a loving boyfriend.
In the same room, Marshall and Everest were still talking about how Marshall felt regarding Flare joining the team, making sure Flare couldn't hear the conversation. The last thing they wanted was to hurt Flare's feelings in any way, especially after what he did for Skye and Amy. "Maybe you could try talking to him before you arrive in Twin Flame Island. That way, you'll know the two of you can have a heart to heart without interruptions. And I know it wouldn't kill the mood of your vacation."
Marshall did like that idea, and saw the points Everest was making about it. The ferry ride sounded like the perfect time for him and Flare to talk. And if he worded everything right, he could keep the mood positive, like Everest said it would be. "Okay, yeah. That makes perfect sense." Marshall was still worried about all of this, but he was still glad to have Everest to talk to about it. "Thanks Everest. Let's hope it all works out."
"Trust me. If you do it right, then it will." Everest assured Marshall, knowing that his concern for Flare was genuine. "And if you're still worried about Flare after he joins the team, just remember that Ryder wouldn't have recruited him if he didn't think he could handle it."
"I know that much Everest." Marshall informed Everest, knowing full well that Flare was getting skilled enough to join the team day by day. "I just know that not every mission he has after he becomes a member will be something he can guarantee walking away from unharmed." Everest put a supportive paw on Marshall's shoulder, which made him smile. Even with his fear still being intact, Everest was one pup who was able to help him work with it constructively.
Back at the Lookout that night, Flare was doing a nighttime game session before bed, and he was really in the zone with the challenge he was pursuing. He was currently waiting for the results screen for the level he was on, and when it was done... Flare got an S rank on the stage he was playing! He was ecstatic, and he started cheering like crazy when Skye came into the living room. "Yes! Yes! Yes! All missions in Angel May Die 3, with an S rank! I now have every achievement in this game!"
"Congratulations Flare." Flare looked to see Skye walking over to her, and she had a genuine smile of gratitude as she did. "That must've taken a while."
"Oh, it did Skye; believe me." Flare assured Skye, starting to go into immense detail on the matter. "You have to keep track of so many things and make sure you get hit so little times, and you have no idea if you're gonna be able to pull it off or not. Heck; you could even get an S in a mission when you weren't even attempting that and just playing the stage for fun!"
Skye could only imagine what that was like. Good thing she didn't play those kinds of games. "That does sound intense. That's why I'm more into dancing video games myself." Skye then started talking about how grateful she was for Flare's help with Amy today, so then she could thank him at least once before the night was over. "Actually, I came in here to thank you for helping me cook that lobster for Amy today."
"It was no big deal." Flare replied, having loved the experience, and getting to make Amy's day.
"Well it was to me." Skye told Flare, and then she spoke up more about how she felt with a look of clear worry. "I was devastated when Amy told us she has cancer. I couldn't stop thinking about all the time I spent with her, and how I could lose someone who meant the world to me." Skye then smiled as she told Flare what she was feeling now. "And even though I'll still be really, really sad if Amy loses this battle... I'm glad I could give her one last gift of love before then." Skye then looked Flare in the eyes as she thanked him for the help. "Thank you Flare."
Flare smiled and nodded in response, hugging Skye and allowing her to wrap her arms around him. "You're welcome Skye. I'm always happy to help!" Flare and Skye continued to hug for a few more seconds, deciding to let the warmth of their friendship sink in for a little longer before they went to bed.
Rock music played as Zuma started speaking in regards to what was going to happen in the next part of the next chapter with specific moments being shown. "You're gonna love it here Wocky! At least if it's as peaceful as I wemember it!"
"I can't wait to see it myself Zuma!" Rocky assured Zuma, being as excited as he was about this. "And it'll be a delight to get to know your parents more!"
"Oh, twust me. You'll love them even mowe after the week is over." Zuma responded, confident that Rocky would absolutely love this week.
Zuma finished the announcement with the words Paw Patrol in all blue with red outlines and the title all white with Flare on one and and Marshall on the other. "Next time, Zuma's Home Town! (Rocky was then shown being anxious about how close the town was to the water with Zuma comforting him) Yeah... I should've told you about that."
