Friend or Foe arc Episode ten: Zuma's Home Town
A plane was shown to be soaring through the sky, and Zuma was looking out the window with an enthusiastic expression. He hadn't been to his home town in so long. He hoped he could remember some of the familiar faces there. Then again, they wouldn't be familiar if he didn't remember them. Rocky, who was sitting next to Zuma, seemed confused about something and looked to Zuma to ask about it. "Hey Zuma?" Zuma looked at Rocky so he could ask his question. "How did you get to Adventure Bay if you had to get there from your home town by plane?"
"Let's just say it pays to have pawents who used to be mastew thieves." Zuma replied with a sly grin on his face, leaving Rocky to smile as Zuma then started talking about his home town. "I still can't believe I'm going back! There's pwobably a lot of wesidents in that town who wecognize me."
Rocky was happy for Zuma, both because he was happy to see his old home, and that the closure he found made him capable of doing so. The beaming smile on Zuma's face told Rocky that this was a town worth revisiting too. "Was there anyone in town you knew really well?"
Zuma tried to remember someone who he remembered fondly. Once he did, he snapped his fingers and happily announced it. "Caspian! He always let me and my pawents check out a boat that caught my attention!" Rocky put a paw on Zuma's leg lovingly as the Chocolate Labrador then laughed about one particular memory. "Somehow, he and I were still fwiends after I accidentally hijacked one of his boats and got myself suwwounded by at least five shawks."
Rocky flinched when he heard about that, and then he chuckled nervously at the thought. "Well at least you made it out unharmed."
Gabe and Celeste were behind Rocky and Zuma with Celeste peeking over the seat to remind Zuma of something else they had there. "Don't forget Zuma. Coastal Current also had the best seafood joint in the world."
Zuma remembered that quickly with his mouth beginning to water as he and Celeste stated the name point blank. "Sea Buffet Emporium."
Gabe couldn't help squeezing his wife's butt playfully, making her look back as she called him out on it with a sly grin. "Gabe! You sly dog; we're in public!"
"Then let's hope none of these kids start crying." Celeste sat down next to Gabe, and as the two started laughing, Rocky and Zuma nuzzled each other warmly. The plane was then shown to be arriving near it's destination; a beautiful coastal town with boats and friendly faces galore.
A sign saying 'Coastal Current' was shown with Zuma looking around the town excitedly as Rocky, Celeste, and Gabe walked with him. He was clearly excited to be back as he pointed out every location in town he could spot. "Oh yeah, this candy shop had the best fudge baws! I wonder if they still have them!"
Celeste was quick to let Zuma know that she'd spoil him as much as necessary while they were in town. "Just say the word Zuma, and I'll get you whatever you want." Celeste then gave Zuma some raspberries on his cheek, and Rocky noticed how close they were to the water. It made him squeamish, since he couldn't stand getting into the water. Gabe was quick to catch on, and he nudged Celeste gently before gesturing her and Zuma to Rocky. "Are you okay Rocky?"
"Yeah, I'm fine." Rocky responded, and then he gave a nervous grin as he told her and Gabe why he was so anxious. "I probably should've told you that I have Aquaphobia before we came here."
Celeste and Gabe became worried about Rocky when they heard that, and then Zuma went over to him to comfort him. "I'm so sowwy Wocky; I was so excited that it totally slipped my mind." Zuma then made sure to let Rocky know that he came first. "Just say the word if you get too anxious, and we can head home and work to help you with water whenevew you feel like."
"You don't have to worry Zuma. I'll be okay." Rocky assured Zuma, feeling that this would be a good start towards what he said last. "Besides. If I DO wanna get over my fear one day, I'll have to start somewhere. And a Coastal town seems like the best fit. That's why I agreed to come in spite of it." Rocky then clarified that it was merely a bonus compared to the main reason. "Next to spending time with my boyfriend and his parents, of course."
Zuma was proud of Rocky for trying, but he let him know that his offer was still open. "Even so, just give me the word and we'll be weady." Rocky was grateful for that, and then Zuma got an idea as he grabbed Rocky's paw. "Hey, I know. What if we get those fudge bombs I told you about?"
Rocky loved the sound of that, looking to Celeste and Gabe, and the two of them nodded with smiles. "If everyone's on board, then I am too!" With that, Rocky and Zuma rushed in with Celeste and Gabe holding paws as they entered right after them.
As Rocky and Zuma entered the shop, a familiar face, an elderly British Shorthair with glasses was reading a magazine when he heard the shop bell ring. He instantly recognized Zuma and was happy to see him. "Zuma! It's been too long my boy!"
Zuma smiled at the sight of the candy shop keeper remembering him, and when he saw him, he remembered his name as well. "You said it Clyde dude. It's a good thing six yeaws doesn't mean fowty two yeaws to us dogs anymore."
Clyde laughed in response to that, and he instantly knew what Zuma wanted as Gabe pointed out how good Zuma's memory was with a supportive tone. "Look at that Zuma. Your memory of this place doesn't seem like it's faded one bit!"
Zuma laughed a bit when his father pointed that out, and Clyde put up four fudge balls for him and the others. "It's also a good thing that animals who can speak real words are able to eat chocolate now. Otherwise this stuff would've killed all the animals in town."
"If only diabetes could've stayed with the humans." Zuma responded, and as he and Rocky laughed at the dark joke, Celeste paid for the fudge balls herself, and Zuma was quick to thank Clyde for them. "Thanks Clyde; you're the boss!"
Rocky and Zuma happily tried their fudge balls after leaving the store, and Zuma was happy to see that his tasted as good as he remembered. Rocky loved the taste as well, and was quick to inform Zuma as it after he swallowed the one he tried. "That has to have been from a Molten Chocolate Lava Cake or something Zuma! My tongue just got enclosed in a field full of chocolate flavored lava!"
"That's the Coastal Cuwwent fudge balls for ya!" Zuma exclaimed, glad to see that despite his fear, Rocky was still having a good time.
Later that day, since the flight was short and early in the morning, Zuma and the others were eating at the Seafood Buffet Emporium. Zuma was chowing down on the seafood and coconut chowder, which he put some hot sauce into to spice it up. Rocky was eating a more elegant meal; that being the creamy spinach stuffed salmon. Celeste and Gabe were sharing a lobster together, and Gabe was feeding Celeste her bites of the meal. Once Rocky noticed this, he looked to Zuma and gestured him to it, leaving him excited to try that out himself with Rocky.
Rocky happily took a piece of his salmon and went to feed it to Zuma, who took a bite of it while being infatuated by how good it tasted. He then did the same thing with his dish, despite it being a little harder, due to it being chowder. He managed to feed Rocky a spoonful however, and he loved the taste of Zuma's dish too. They could most certainly feel the romantic appeal this action had. They hoped they would be able to do it more in the future, both on group occasions, and on romantic dates.
Zuma was happy that so far, everyone seemed to be having a good time during the revisit to Coastal Current. His parents were being their loving, wholesome selves to one another, Rocky was starting to get a liking for the town despite his fear of water, and Zuma himself was glad that he remembered more things from it than he originally thought. He still had a few things he was excited to do, and he hoped he could get them all finished in one sitting. Of course, he could always revisit if he missed something, but the thought of doing it all was always a fun one to have for him.
Rocky was looking at how close Coastal Current was to the town as he and Zuma were sitting on the edge of the dock. Rocky was anxious when he saw the waves crashing, but he knew he had to sit for a little longer, as it was part of the training Zuma thought up for him. If he could sit there for long enough without panicking about how close he was, he'd be closer to getting over his fear. He decided to make a suggestion that he'd hoped would break up the tension that was rising in his mind. "Maybe I can finally take up swimming lessons when we get back to Adventure Bay."
"Yeah, that's a gweat idea!" Zuma replied, being in full support of Rocky's journey to overcome his Aquaphobia. "No better method than leawning how to swim!"
Rocky and Zuma started to hold paws, only for Gabe's voice to be heard from nearby with a stomach growl. Gabe's sinister tone also made it clear that he was plotting something from behind the two pups. "I can name one method that sounds better." Rocky and Zuma looked back to find Gabe's butt pointed in Rocky's face as Gabe was bent over, just before the Chocolate Labrador released...
PFFFFFFFFFFT
...a strong scented five second fart, making Gabe's butt vibrate as Rocky was hit with a green cloud of lobster. As Rocky coughed and wafted the fart away, Zuma was quick to complain about the stunt his father just pulled when he turned around. "Dad, I alweady told you; Wocky doesn't like fawt pwanks!"
"I know, I know. I just couldn't resist." Gabe chuckled, still being proud of his first fart prank with Zuma back in his life.
Celeste was quick to scold Gabe for this one, putting a paw on his shoulder while giving him a grin. "And just for that, you're only getting ONE of the brownies Flare offered to bake after we got back." Gabe flinched in response to that and chuckled again with Celeste then asking about Flare and Marshall's vacation. "How's their vacation going by the way."
"They went on the fewwy for Twin Flame Island a couple houws after we got on the plane." Zuma explained, knowing that they were also having a blast in their home town. "And since Chase is hanging out with Skye and her family a lot lately, we just might tuwn this into a family week for the whole team." Rocky didn't mind the sound of that. He was always happy to spend time with Zuma and his folks... even if they were also prone to farting like him.
As the four canines looked over the dock together, they heard a familiar voice from behind that brought joy to Zuma's eyes. "Do my eyes and ears deceive me!?"
Zuma saw an elderly white male with a peg leg walking over to him, and he was quick to rush over to him with excitement. "Caspian!"
Zuma hugged Caspian, who was happy to see the Chocolate Labrador pup again after so long. "Zuma Alex Thorne as he lives and breathes!" Caspian pulled Zuma away as he expressed how happy he was to see him. "The six years you and your parents have been away for just haven't been the same without you!"
"That tends to be the case when corrupt cops use you for a promotion." Gabe chimed in, holding his paw out and giving the sailor a firm handshake. "We missed you the most out of all of our friends here Caspian. Life was never the same when we couldn't wake up to the sound of Zuma wanting to see which boat he'd get to explore next."
"You said it Gabe." Caspian then addressed Celeste, who was quick to hug him excitedly. "Celeste! Still feisty as ever I see!" Caspian then noticed Rocky and gave him as friendly of a smile as he did Zuma and his parents. "And what's your name friend?"
Rocky was happy to introduce himself to Caspian, since he was such good friends with Zuma's family. "My name's Rocky. Rocky Goodway." Rocky happily shook Caspian's hand as he spoke up about how much he was liking it here so far. "Even though I'm not the biggest fan of getting into water myself, it's great to see that Zuma's home town is still full of friendly joy."
Caspian was glad to see that Rocky was liking it here, and Zuma then started holding Rocky's paw as he asked Caspian something about his boats. "If it's not a bad time Caspian... I think we could use a twip to the Lovebiwds boat."
Caspian caught on quickly, and he gave a hearty laugh as he took Zuma up on his offer. "For you Zuma, I'll offer more than one couple per visit!" Rocky couldn't help but be excited when he heard that. He could also tell that Zuma was ecstatic for what this boat had to offer.
Zuma and the others were at the docks with Rocky admiring all of the boats Caspian had in his possession. He never would've imagined that someone would collect boats for a living. Then again, he probably had to so he could own his shop. He couldn't help but show amazement as he spoke to Caspian about it. "Wow Caspian! You just might have a boat for the needs of everyone who wants one!"
"That's the idea Rocky." Caspian told Rocky, knowing that anyone could want any kind of boat. "You can never be too certain what kind of boat someone's gonna want." Caspian then took the canines to the boat Zuma recommended. It was a red boat that was covered in hearts, and it had a sign on it that said 'I don't judge!' on it. "Here she is Zuma! She's as full of love as she was when Celeste and Gabe used her last!"
Zuma was glad to see that the boat was still intact, and Celeste was quick to hint at something arousing as she tugged Gabe's arm playfully. "Good thing that won't be THE last time."
Gabe gave an aroused smile to Celeste, and Rocky and Zuma went into the boat first as Zuma spoke to them when going in. "Have fun with that!" When Rocky and Zuma went into the boat, Rocky had to admire the amount of detail that went into the romantic aspect of it. "Yeah, Caspian knows how to set the mood. I think he knows someone for that."
"Regardless, it's beautiful." Rocky responded, and he then saw the view of the ocean and instantly went over to it. He felt that was best, since they weren't ready to get freaky just yet. He couldn't believe how much more real it felt to look at the ocean from a boat. His amazed look said it all as Zuma smiled when looking at him. "Phenomenal."
Rocky and Zuma started holding paws as the two of them admired the view of the ocean from where they sat. As they did, Zuma also took the time to lean on Rocky's shoulder. The feel of Zuma leaning on his fur was always enough to make Rocky's moment. He decided to take the time to nuzzle Zuma gently, making Zuma giggle a bit as he did, since it tickled his fur. Zuma decided to take a cheap shot and blew into Rocky's eat, making Rocky flinch in response. "Hey!" The two lovers then laughed as they then continued to look out into the ocean together.
Rocky and Zuma could hardly believe that the two of them were this close to being out in the ocean together. Zuma hoped he wouldn't ruin the mood with a question he had in mind. "Hey Wocky?" Rocky looked at Zuma as he asked his question. "Do you see us doing this in the futuwe if we ever own a boat?"
Rocky couldn't deny how much he was enjoying this. It gave him further motivation to overcome his Aquaphobia. "Definitely." Rocky also had a question in mind that he felt Zuma would be open to. "Do you see us having a family in the future?"
"Yeah, but we'd have to adopt the puppies since two dudes can't conceive a baby." Zuma pointed out. Thankfully, both he and Rocky were open to that. "Maybe we could teach them how to fish so they'd have something to do if we DO decide to get a boat." Zuma then laughed a bit as he realized that it was a little early to be thinking about this stuff. "Good thing we have plenty of time to think about impowtant stuff like that."
Rocky then started wondering how exactly his lifestyle with Zuma in the future would be. "I can most certainly see us living in a two story house together. Maybe it could double as a house boat so we could travel!"
"If you're okay with that." Zuma assured Rocky, and then he sighed lovingly at the thought of spending his life with Zuma. "Honestly, I don't weally care what kind of house we have. (Looks at Rocky) As long as I'm with you, I can even handle living in the most cwamped apawtment on the planet." Rocky held Zuma's paw tightly, but not too tightly, greatly appreciating that sentiment. The thought of overcoming all odds with him was truly a beauty in his eyes. For all the time they had, the two pups knew they would be as ready as could be for whatever came their way.
While Celeste and Gabe were having their turn in the Lovebirds boat, Caspian brought a paper over to Rocky and Zuma as they were talking outside. "Before I forget Zuma, you'll wanna take a look at this."
Zuma accepted the newspaper and got a good look at it with Rocky taking a peek as well. Both of them were astonished by what they saw that the cops who ruined Zuma's Coastal Current life got a ten year sentence! Zuma had to make sure this was true. "And this was fwom Novembew of last yeaw!?"
"Yep. Those power hungry monsters finally got their justice half a month before your parents got transferred to Foggy Bottom." Caspian explained, and he was more than happy to share his thoughts on the situation. "If you ask me, their sentence was only half of what should've been given to them." Caspian then gave a more bitter sounding tone in regards to the cops who ruined Zuma's life. "The fact that anyone can do that to a kid who was as young as you were Zuma, was truly sickening."
Rocky then remembered something about Zuma's past that he hoped Caspian wouldn't mind asking about. "Zuma was sent to the orphanage in the next town over after his parents were taken from him, right? Not to make any accusations Caspian, but couldn't you have adopted Zuma then?"
"It came to my mind, but I was nowhere near fit to raise a kid then Rocky." Caspian explained, being understanding about why Rocky brought it up. "I was barely able to afford my own rent at the time before I eventually downgraded to a smaller apartment. I tried to visit Zuma as much as I could to compensate for the fact that I couldn't adopt him."
Rocky was glad to see that Caspian was still there for Zuma, wondering why Zuma didn't bring him up before. It didn't seem like Zuma to wanna leave that out. "Hey Zuma, how come you never brought up Caspian before? And wouldn't he technically classify as a friend you had while in the orphanage?"
"Fwom the owphanage, no." Zuma corrected, clarified that he was talking about those he lived with at the orphanage specifically. "And the visits were so showt that I kinda fowgot they happened." Zuma admitting to that second one didn't hurt Caspian. He instead rubbed Zuma's head as he asked another question. "Do you think my old house is still here?"
Caspian looked up to the hill Zuma's house was on, pointing over to it as he answered his question. "It's not in the best condition, but she's still standing."
Rocky was confused by the mention of the house in the form of a 'she', so Zuma clarified it when he noticed. "Some sailows wefer to houses or boats by female pwonouns."
Rocky nodded his head in understanding, and Celeste burst out of the door to the Lovebirds boat. She was all sweaty with Gabe being that as well, and Celeste put something away as she spoke up about the situation. "Our last dinner!" Zuma then remembered that last part of what happened on that day. He hoped it didn't mean that the house was burnt down now. Then again, Caspian probably wouldn't have said it were still standing if that were the case.
Zuma and the others arrived at Zuma's old house, and Rocky was quick to assure Zuma that it was okay to look back. "We don't have to do this Zuma. We can save this for the next time we visit if you want."
"Thanks Wocky, but I'm not about to chicken out." Zuma assured Rocky, being as brave as he could be to go into his old house. "As far as I can see, it's now or nevew!"
Zuma opened the door to his old house, and despite being horrified by the state of it, he stepped inside without hesitation. Gabe and Celeste held paws as Rocky looked back at them in the hopes that they were okay too. "You two can count on me to look after Zuma if things get too intense."
Despite appreciating the gesture, Gabe and Celeste nodded to each other before sharing a brief kiss as Gabe spoke up. "We'll be fine."
The three of them then entered the house, and Zuma was shocked as he saw how beat up the living room was. "All of this. Over a past that no one cawed about anymowe." Zuma picked up a picture with a broken frame, and it showed Zuma's 4th birthday party with him wearing a hat and his parents watched him blow out his candles. Zuma was visibly emotional by what he was looking at right there. Rocky walked over to Zuma and put a paw on his shoulder for comfort. Zuma then came to realization about one thing as he then ran over to the stairs. "My woom!"
Rocky chased after Zuma with Celeste and Gabe having their own thoughts about this. Celeste was starting to wonder if they went too far. "Honey. Did we do this too soon?"
"No sweetheart. Zuma's tough. And he needs this as much as we do." Gabe reminded Celeste, giving her a comforting hug as she wrapped her arms around him. He knew that this was a hard experience for her as well, since it was just as hard of an experience for him.
Rocky and Zuma were on the second floor, and Rocky watched as Zuma arrived at an orange door. Rocky knew what it was, since Zuma commented on it right before he ran upstairs. Zuma looked at Rocky, who put a paw on his shoulder for support. With that, Zuma opened the door and revealed the inside of his room. When he did, surprisingly, everything was still in there. His bed, his toy box, even his old pajamas. He went over to the pair of orange PJ's and got a look at them. Rocky also noticed the pattern of boats on them. "Did your mom make those?"
Zuma nodded his head yes, and then he set the pajamas down when he started talking about what life was like here. "Things were so peaceful here before the cops came along." Zuma turned around and looked at Rocky, who was right there for Zuma. "Was it like that for you back in Pwison City?"
Rocky knew that he would be able to talk to Zuma about that no problem. If there was one thing they had in common regarding their pasts, it's that they had home lives that they loved before they were ruined. "I did. Even if the stuff about my dad and Charm still makes me conflicted about a lot of things." Rocky had a theory in mind as to why Zuma wanted to come back to Coastal Current. "I wish I could've seen my old room. At least you got that chance."
"Especially since I had it with you Wocky." Rocky took notice to Zuma's smile as he made absolute sure to let Rocky know how much he meant to him. "I knew fwom the stawt that if there was anyone I wanted to expewience this with, aside fwom my pawents, obviously, it was you."
Rocky couldn't help talking about some of the stuff he loved about Zuma when he said that as he went over to the window. "I doubt I'd be able to make it that much better Zuma." Rocky looked out the window as he continued. "I'm nowhere near as laid back or passionate as you are. And you bring life to any event you're a part of. And here I am being a panicking mess half the time."
Zuma walked up to Rocky and assured him that he saw him as more than that. "You sure that's all you are?" Rocky looked at Zuma, who told him all the stuff he loved about him. "I know I didn't say it in my song to you, but I always saw you as a smawt, thoughtful, fwiendly, and hewoic pup. Ever since we fiwst met, that's how I saw you. You'we even willing to overcome your Aquaphobia for me!" Rocky was extremely touched by what Zuma was saying with the Chocolate Labrador then deciding to make the next move. "Even if you don't see it... I know it's twue."
Zuma then wrapped his arms around Rocky, who did the same as soon as he and Zuma shared a passionate kiss in the sunlight of the window. The feeling of their lips pressing together was a feeling unlike any other to the two of them. The passion, the love, the satisfaction; it was all wrapped up in this one kiss. The two pups could tell that even if this was their first kiss, it wouldn't be their last. After about fifteen seconds, the two pups pulled apart with Zuma making an offer. "As soon as we get back, I'm more than happy to be your swimming coach."
"There's nothing I'd love more." Rocky assured Zuma, and the two looked into each other's eyes as he said that. They both knew that they were both willing to tackle any obstacle for each other. Even if their lives were at risk, they would do whatever it took to support the other in any way they could.
Nothing could break them apart.
Later that night, Rocky and Zuma were walking down a hallway in the hotel Celeste and Gabe checked out before coming here. When they arrived at their hotel room, Gabe opened up the door and revealed it to the others. It was a nice looking room with two beds, a TV, and a bathroom. Definitely a cozy place to stay for the time Zuma and the others planned to be there for. Zuma was quick to call dibs on the bed he liked more. "We'll be taking the window bed, thanks."
"You'll probably need it more anyway." Gabe joked, knowing that Zuma was gassier than both him and Celeste combined.
Rocky and Zuma went over to the window bed with Zuma opening up the window and looking out of it. The town didn't look that different from how it looked during the day, but Zuma still liked looking outside at this time. "Not the biggest place in the world, but you can sewiously tell what vibe this town gives off any time of the day."
Rocky couldn't help but agree with that one thanks to the day he and the others had. "I can certainly see it." Rocky grabbed the remote from the bedside table and turned the TV on as he asked about the time at Zuma's old house. "So. You feeling better now that we saw your old house?"
"You bet I am." Zuma answered, being relieved that he was finally able to cross that off the list of things he wanted to do. "I still can't believe it was that well intact after so long. You'd think they would've dozed it down and added an awcade to the town instead." Zuma looked at the TV with Rocky, knowing that this trip has been a big help to him as well so far. "Just wait until we stawt telling the others about how our twip has been."
"If we'll have enough to talk about for more than a couple days that is." Rocky pointed out, knowing that there was no guarantee they would have all the stuff in the world to talk about. Still, he was already more than happy to share his time in Coastal Current with the others when the time came for it.
The next day, Rocky was just waking up, and as usual, the pup decided to start his morning off with some pre-day stretches. As he stretched his front arms, he raised his butt and accidentally let out...
PFFFFFT
...a three second fart that went out the window and hit a bird, making Rocky's butt vibrate as the bird was knocked out with a green cloud of moldy salmon. As he blushed and wafted the fart scent out of the window, he then remembered who he was sleeping with when he went to the bathroom with Zuma cutting...
PHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHT
...a loud and bassy ten second fart right at Rocky, making his butt vibrate as he hit Rocky with a yellow cloud of rotten eggs. Zuma was still brushing his teeth, and as he did, he noticed Rocky and chuckled as he realized what he'd done. "Sowwy baby. I must've missed you in the miwwor."
"Wouldn't be the first time, and it certainly won't be the last." Rocky joked, and he and Zuma laughed in response as Rocky then prepared for a reluctantly taken shower.
The next day, Rocky and Zuma were by the docks as the two of them were getting ready to start fishing. It was always a relaxing hobby for Zuma, and one of many that he was happy to be able to do in any place he was currently in. It also helped that he was good friends with Caspian. "Just wait until we make our fiwst catch Wocky. I bet it's gonna be a big one!"
"Well considering that we aren't the first to ever fish here, I wouldn't hold my breath." Rocky admitted, but when he got a pull on his line, his mind started to change. "Never mind; I have something!"
"Quick! Weel it in!" Rocky did as Zuma said, and he was able to get a decent reel in while trying to keep the fish from swimming away. He got tougher as the fish started to pull harder, but thinking quickly, Zuma set his fishing pole into a stand and grabbed Rocky's with him. The two of them held on and pulled tightly, making sure not to break the line as Rocky continued to reel the fish in. Celeste and Gabe were watching from nearby, and they couldn't help but admire the teamwork from the two pups. Only ten years old, and they were both such an amazing team.
Rocky and Zuma managed to reel the fish in with one final tug, and Rocky caught it without fail. The two of them got a close look at the fish, and it was revealed to be a rainbow trout. Rocky and Zuma couldn't help being amazed by this, and Zuma was quick to call over to his parents with excitement. "Mom; dad! Come look!" Celeste and Gabe did as Zuma requested, going as fast as possible to ensure they got there in time. "Wocky caught a Wainbow Twout!"
Rocky took his pup phone out just in case, and Zuma helped him hold the fish as the two lined up to take a picture. Once they did, they both smiled with Zuma giving a peace sign and winking as Rocky closed his eyes with a teeth showing grin. When Celeste and Gabe arrived at the scene, they both admired the look of the Rainbow Trout with Gabe in particular finding it astonishing. It was clear that this was a rare feat for anyone in Coastal Current. Rocky and Zuma then nuzzled each other's noses, making sure not to let go of the fish as they did.
Zuma and the others visited Sea Buffet Emporium, and he and Rocky were currently cooking the rainbow trout they caught themselves. As they were doing this, Zuma asked Rocky what he wanted to do first for his training to get over his Aquaphobia. "So what do you wanna do fiwst for your swim twaining when we get back?"
Rocky started to think about that, and after a few seconds, he happily gave Zuma his answer. "I wanna have it at the beach." Zuma already liked the sound of that, but Rocky wasn't finished. "And I want both of us to go in at the same time, and to go far enough to start floating in the ocean."
Zuma loved that idea, and not just because he loved the ocean. It also meant Rocky was serious about his training. "That sounds pewfect." Rocky and Zuma then got a good look at their fish with Zuma pointing something out in regards to Rocky's fear of water. "Ya know, when you think about it, we might've stawted your twaining eawly. This little dude has to have lived a lot of his live in the ocean befowe today."
Rocky couldn't help but giggle at the sound of what Zuma just said. He was technically right too, even if not in the traditional sense. Even if he didn't have to get into the water to have this lesson, he saw what Zuma was saying about him getting closer from the overall experience. "Then it's a first lesson I'm glad we had together." Rocky and Zuma held paws again as the two of them continued to watch over the fish.
Celeste and Gabe were sitting together as they watched Rocky and Zuma cook the rainbow trout together. A part of them wanted to help the two of them cook the fish, but they knew it was their fish to cook, since they were the ones who caught it. It didn't upset them however. They were too happy to see their son as happy as he was after all he must've gone through before they were reunited. As the two of them held paws and continued to watch their son and his boyfriend bonding, they both started to imagine just how much they loved being back in Zuma's life.
Rock music played as Everest started speaking in regards to what was going to happen in the next chapter with specific moments being shown. "Our first time going to Jake's Mountain together since Christmas! This is gonna be so much fun! Oh, you wanna come too Claw? Well, I guess that's okay as long as Snow isn't bothered by it."
"I mean, I guess it's fine, since everyone else is busy." Snow pointed out, knowing that Claw would obviously want some company."
"You two won't have to worry about a thing." Claw assured Snow and Everest. "I'll make absolute sure I'm not a burden."
Claw finished the announcement with the words Paw Patrol in all blue with red outlines and the title all white with Flare on one and and Marshall on the other. "Next time, Jake's Mountain! (Claw was talking to Charm on his earpiece while looking remorseful for what he was doing) If only I wasn't being reminded of my mission at least once a week."
