Disclaimer: Yep. Wolves are gonna be a big part of this season. I know I haven't introduced any mainstay wolves for the season yet, but I promise I'll flesh out the wolf village as much as I can during our time here. After all, wolves being in this universe is one of the reasons I was so excited to do this season. I don't wanna make that feel lukewarm.
Also, I don't own Paw Patrol.
Paw Patrol X
Demon Defense arc Episode three: Same Friends, New Trials Part Three
Continuing from where the last episode left off, the Paw Patrol, Flare and Rocky especially, were shocked to find that the wolf clan's leader was none other than... Slash Ralston! Rocky in particular had so many questions for him. Of course, how he was still alive was the biggest one on his mind. Slash closed a drawer in his desk as he greeted the Paw Patrol in a friendly manner. "Hello there Paw Patrol. It's a pleasure to have you here."
Rocky was so shocked that he didn't even think about his next move. He simply moved forward as he spoke up. "Dad?" Paleclaw was surprised to hear Rocky refer to Slash like that. Rocky went over to Slash's desk with it being clear how much this confused him. "How are you leading a clan of wolves? I thought you were dead!"
Paleclaw walked up to Rocky to tell Slash why they brought the Paw Patrol here. "I thought the Paw Patrol could help, since they've overcome some impossible odds, and I'm also good friends with Zuma." Slash nodded in response as Paleclaw then looked to Rocky for clarification. "Slash Ralston is your father?"
"Yeah. Ralston was my birth name before Richie adopted me." Rocky informed Paleclaw, and then he looked back at Slash. "Flare said Charm shot you in the head. How did you survive that long enough to end up here?"
Rocky noticed Slash's eyes briefly dart to the drawer he closed, making him wonder what could be in there. "Let's just say I had a last resort in case Charm fell too out of line."
Snow spoke up herself, finding that to not give any needed context for this. "Okay. Am I alone here, or did that not explain anything!?"
Flare stepped forward, finding it impossible to believe that Slash just survived a blow like that. "I saw Charm shoot you myself Slash. That's not an injury you can just... bounce back from."
Slash wasn't about to have the Paw Patrol get onto him. After noticing the cold glare Richie was giving him, he changed the subject to better fit his favor. "Perhaps we could talk about this another time. I want to thank you for your kindness in helping with the demon attacks." Slash already had the perfect solution with the Paw Patrol walking over to Rocky and Paleclaw as he announced it. "That's it. Tonight, we'll have a ceremony in the ballroom to thank you in style!"
Rocky wasn't so sure about this, but Zuma, knowing that Rocky needed some time to adjust to his wolf body, decided to take it up for now. "This would be a good chance to get to know the west of the wolves in the village. You could use some fwiends to help adjust to your wolf genes kicking in." Rocky saw Zuma's point as he then assured the wolf that their questions for Slash would be answered. "Then we can focus on the analytical stuff after we've settled in a bit."
Rocky felt that would be best, and Ryder then stepped forward to let Slash know about something else. "Just bare this in mind Slash. Our history doesn't leave you in a very trusting position with me."
"I understand Ryder. I hope to change that." Slash responded, leaving everyone to leave the office with Paleclaw joining them.
Marshall tried to assure Paleclaw that Ryder was still a good guy as they left. "I don't think he was threatening him Paleclaw. Ryder just doesn't want us getting hurt."
The office door closed with Slash sighing, knowing that this was a long time coming. It annoyed him immensely. "He had to come looking for answers one day." Slash took a sip of his tea, which was sitting beside him as the Paw Patrol entered. Whatever he had on his mind was certainly not something that gave him pleasant thoughts.
A set of monitors hovering over Wolfland were shown with a sword slashing right through the middle of ten planks of wood perfectly. When it broke in half, Charm was revealed to be wielding the blade. He was thrilled to find that it was as strong as he'd hoped and cheered to Trickery with delight. "Another successful blade Trickery! This new army will be more than satisfactory for our next attack!"
Trickery walked over to Charm with a cup of tea in his paw as he brought up how much he enjoyed watching this side of him. "That will be especially true thanks to your craftsmanship my lord. It seems that picking up that Blacksmith book was a good idea after all."
"It was only a matter of time my friend." Just then, something beeped on the monitors and Charm went over to them with Trickery. When they saw that one of the monitors showed the Paw Patrol settling into a motel in Wolfland, he got frustrated. "Great. As if father being there didn't make this hard enough" Charm then saw the monitor with Slash in his office reading a book with a lock on it. Knowing that it was his journal, Charm's frustration faded as he gave his signature sadistic grin. "Then again, this could make things more interesting."
Trickery wasn't so sure Wolfland was still a good place to look anymore. Now that the Paw Patrol were there, the chances of Charm losing were amplified by quite a bit. "We should consider going for the fox village instead Charm. The Paw Patrol have already foiled your plans twice."
"Once. The first time was them saving Everest, and I wasn't enacting any schemes at the time." Charm reminded Trickery, and he then made sure to let him know how prepared he was. "And this won't be a repeat of Jake's Mountain. Even if they stop me from getting any wolf soldiers like we think they will, I can at least get some information from my father."
Trickery knew fighting with Charm wasn't an option, so he decided to go along with his plan. "If you insist my lord. Just don't lose sight of our mission."
"I'll stay as focused as I want so long as the Paw Patrol make this fun. I'll have to postpone our first trip there a little longer to prepare the army for the Paw Patrol, but it's still a reversible setback." Charm assured Trickery, observing them on the monitors as he took notice to Rubble and Paleclaw. "Just you wait Paw Patrol. If you think you've seen the last of me, then you're dead wrong."
The Paw Patrol were talking about what they witnessed later that day with Rubble asking about the Paw Patrol's history with Slash. "Let me get this straight. Slash used to work with demons, and Richie's half demon, so that means he did stuff to him as well?"
"That's right. And not the freaky stuff, don't worry." Richie informed Rubble, making sure to let him know the right context. "I'd rather not go into detail, but I'll say that he only got involved to abuse my demon side, and nothing else."
Rocky seemed deep in thought about something else, and Zuma noticed quickly before putting a paw on his knee. "What's wong baby?" Rocky was worried about speaking up at first. He was worried what he was thinking about would hurt the others. Zuma caught on quickly to what he had on his mind thanks to who they saw earlier. "Is it about Slash?"
Rocky nodded his head yes, and as Zuma hugged his arm softly, he opened up about what was on his mind. "I still can't shake it off my mind that he had something to do with Charm being the way he is." That caught Chase's attention, and he whispered something to Marshall as Rocky kept talking. "I thought Charm trying to tear Adventure Bay down would've stopped that." Chase then noticed Skye watching and silently mouthed 'I'll tell you later' to her, to which she silently mouthed 'okay'. "Seeing my dad brought those thoughts back into my head."
"You can't help thinking about this stuff." Zuma assured Rocky, not wanting him to think he was being selfish.
"I wish I could Zuma." Rocky responded, making it clear how much stress he was under. Zuma rubbed his arm gently, knowing this would be hard for him to handle without comfort. "Even after everything he's done, even after he's hurt so many of us, even after he tried to drain Adventure Bay's life... a part of me still wants to..." Rocky gulped, feeling that this next one had a big chance at making him look bad. "help him. If I can."
Marshall knew what that was like and decided to give his own insight on the situation. "Well... he's still technically your younger brother." Rocky looked at Marshall, who gave him his perspective on the situation. "Maybe what Slash said led to you wanting to help Charm if possible. Like me with Flare after our dad died."
"And me with Snow when we were on our own." Everest added, leading to the wolf looking at her next. "And take it from me Rocky. No sibling is perfect."
Marshall laughed a bit before speaking up again with Rocky smiling thanks to their comfort. "You and I would both know about that one Eve."
Paleclaw then looked at the time and let the others know what they had to do. "I'm gonna go get your outfits for tonight's ceremony. I'll try to pick them out the best to your liking." Paleclaw headed out, allowing the others to settle into the Wolfland motel for the time they were there for.
Flare was walking down the hallway in the motel as he overheard Chase talking to Marshall about something in the former's room. "It just doesn't feel right that Rocky spent this much time not knowing what his dad was saying." Flare leaned against the door and peeked inside, spotting Chase and Marshall talking about Rocky's dilemma. "It's bad enough he's not handling being half wolf the best, and now he has this back on his mind too."
Marshall sighed, wanting to help Rocky too, but not knowing if he could do anything about it. "I want to help him too Chase. I just don't know where to start. I mean, we can't just ask Slash directly what he was talking about. Then he'd know we're onto him."
"That's why we're not going to ask him directly." Chase informed Marshall, who listened closely as Chase made him an offer that he hoped would be accepted. "Marshall, how would you like to join me in an official investigation in Wolfland to help Rocky find closure on what happened to Charm."
"Investigation!?" Flare burst into the room after he said that, surprising Chase and Marshall as he then closed the door behind him. He locked it and ran over to Chase and Marshall in the hopes that he could join as well. "You mean like what real cops do?" Chase nodded his head yes, making Flare even more excited. "Can I join too!?"
Marshall was hesitant to let Flare join in on this, and not just because of the reason they came to Wolfland. "I'm not entirely sure if I wanna join myself Flare." Flare and Chase looked at Marshall, who had his own thoughts about the situation. "As much as I wanna help Rocky, there's no telling if Slash left any evidence in town. And we still have to worry about the demon attacks when they come up."
"We can handle both." Chase assured Marshall, being confident that they would be able to pull this off. "We just have to make sure to look around for evidence when we know there won't be any demon attacks."
Flare had another point to back this up, bringing his own optimism into the mix. "And even if we don't find anything, at least we can say we tried."
Marshall thought for a little longer, and was still a little skeptical at first. He still didn't know where they would look around first when looking for evidence. And he knew this could get them into trouble. Still, he had to admit; Flare and Chase had their points. He decided to at least give it a shot, smiling in the hopes that they would find something. "What the heck? We ARE the Paw Patrol after all. Helping others is what we do."
"That's the spirit!" Chase said happily as he raised his paw, allowing Marshall to hi five it before Chase informed Flare about something as well. "And yes Flare. You can help us. Just be careful."
"You got it Super Spy Chase!" Flare assured Chase with a salute, making Chase and Marshall nod at the reference to Chase's spy gear.
Sometime after that, Flare was trying on the tuxedo he was given for the ceremony, and it made him very uncomfortable. It felt really tight on him, and he wasn't sure if he should walk on four legs, or two legs for this one. He felt really stiff in the suit as well, like he was barely able to move because of how tight it was. He then looked back at his rear end after standing on two legs, which felt something similar. 'Here goes nothing.' Snow entered the room, and Flare failed to hear the door open, and his butt was shown as as he grunted and ripped...
BRRRRRRRRRRUUUUUUUUUUP
...a ripe and bassy five second fart that made his butt vibrate, unleashing a green cloud of spoiled meat into Snow's face. Flare then heard Snow coughing as she wafted the fart away, causing him to flinch and turn around. He helped her waft the fart cloud away as he apologized for farting on her. "Sorry about that Snow."
Snow coughed a bit more before she let Flare know that he was okay. "We've all been hit with worse. We live with Chase after all."
"Hehe. Yeah." Flare then let Snow know what he was trying to do. "I can't seem to get either side of this tux to fit right. And farting didn't help with the back half."
That definitely sounded like a problem to Snow. Hopefully it was an easy fix. "Maybe the size Paleclaw got you is too small?"
"No, I checked, and it's the same size as my pup gear." Flare explained, being worried about how this would affect the ceremony. "How does that gear fit me so much better than this?"
Snow then hatched an idea, wondering if something from a couple years ago would apply to today. "Ya know, you also felt a lot less comfortable in that knight costume for the LARP than the mage costume."
Flare quickly caught onto what Snow was saying and instantly decided to try it out. "Ah, I see what you're getting at. Let's try it!" Flare and Snow then rushed off, ready to try out the idea Snow had on her mind.
Rocky and Zuma were also getting ready for the ceremony with Zuma trying on what looked like a fancy sailor outfit. He decided to flirt with Rocky a bit as he checked himself out. "Just you wait Wocky. You're gonna be swabbing one heck of a deck later tonight."
"Yeah. I bet." Rocky replied despondently. Not that he minded Zuma's flirting, but he still had his father and Charm on his mind.
Zuma noticed Rocky's mood quickly and walked over to him to let him know he wasn't the only one struggling. "Ya know Wocky, I've got something on my mind too." Rocky looked at Zuma, who opened up about his conflicted thoughts on his promise to Paleclaw. "Obviously I wanna keep my pwomise to Paleclaw, but with what you've been dealing with lately, I wanna help you as much as I can."
"And you're worried you won't be able to balance out both of them in an efficient manner?" Rocky asked, and Zuma nodded his head yes. Rocky appreciated the concern, but he felt that Zuma's dilemma was easier to fix. "Paleclaw's pretty reasonable. Just tell them you wanna help ME out too, and there won't be a chance of them feel betrayed."
Zuma chuckled a bit, wishing he'd realized how easy his solution was sooner. "Fair point. He even made up with Claw pwetty fast yestewday."
Rocky only hoped his own problems were as simple as a single talk. "Here's hoping I can get some answers from my dad tonight regarding Charm."
Zuma didn't want Rocky feeling down all night, especially since this night was being held in ceremony form for them and their friends. He smiled lovingly as he took Rocky's paws and let him know it'd all be okay. "Even if we don't get answews tonight, I'll make sure Slash tells you whatever you wanna know while we're here."
Rocky smiled with gratitude, always feeling better when Zuma reminded him that he was always there for him. "Thanks Zuma. I'll remember that."
"You'd bettew." Zuma teased playfully, and then he moved his middle two paws up Rocky's chest slowly and lovingly. "And later tonight, we'll be looking at a night full of magic, whether in the bedsheets, or on the dance floow."
Rocky growled arousingly, loving what Zuma was implying there. "Intriguing. You'd better save a dance for me then."
"You know I will." Zuma assured Rocky, and the two looked at each other lovingly after he did just that.
Later that night, Paleclaw was standing guard at the Wolfland ballroom building, waiting for the Paw Patrol to finally arrive. When they saw them coming, they smiled and greeted them in a friendly manner. "You guys made it!"
Flare instantly spoke up as he was revealed to be wearing a short red dress. "Of course! We wouldn't miss a party they were throwing for us." Paleclaw took notice to his attire, and he explained why he was wearing it once he noticed. "Oh, right. The tuxedo you gave me felt weird when I put it on. I hope you don't mind me wearing this instead."
"Whatever makes you comfortable Flare." Paleclaw assured Flare, smiling to show that they weren't upset about his decision. "Come on. Let's give you guys some time to mingle with the locals."
The Paw Patrol entered the ballroom with Paleclaw, and they were all amazed by what they saw. For a place that mostly consisted of houses that looked like huts from a different time period, the inside of the ballroom looked very high tech. This was exactly Rocky's style, and as Zuma counted down with a smile, "Thwee, two, one..." he squeed like a fourteen year old fangirl when he saw the room design.
Rubble couldn't help snickering at the sound of that with Paleclaw getting an idea on how Rubble could enjoy himself here. "Ya know Rubble, the kid I mentioned earlier should be here. You two might get along."
Rubble wasn't so sure about that with no context. "Hmmmm. Well..." He figured it was at least worth a shot, just to see if Paleclaw was right about that. "I guess I wouldn't mind meeting him."
"Maybe I could join you?" Rocky asked, leaving Rubble to raise an eyebrow as Rocky then came up with a reason for joining him. "I mean, this is a new place for all of us. And we'll need someone else to know this kid, just in case one of the worst case scenarios happens."
Rubble couldn't really think of a good counterargument, setting up a condition just to keep Rocky in check. "Okay, but if it starts to feel weird, then you're leaving."
Rocky nodded in response with Paleclaw then leading the two off to meet their friend. "Alright then. Let's go."
Rocky was about to walk off, only for Zuma to grab his arm gently while looking at him with concern. He clearly wanted to spend the night with him. Rocky smiled and assured him it was still possible. "You can come too Zuma. Just remember what Rubble said about it feeling weird." Zuma smiled and started snuggling Rocky's arm, making him smile as he walked off to catch up with Rubble and Paleclaw.
A Chihuahua around Rubble's age was shown to be swinging on one of the ropes in the ballroom. His mother, a grown up Chihuahua was struggling to get him to come down, begging him to make sure he didn't get hurt. "Tracker, please come down now!"
"Okay!" Tracker let go, leaving his mother to catch him just as Paleclaw arrived with Rocky, Zuma, and Rubble.
Paleclaw couldn't help laughing a bit as he walked up to Tracker and rubbed his head while his mother was hugging him. "He climb up to the roof again Bonita?"
"Third time this week." Bonita answered, looking at Tracker as she expressed how worried she was about him. "You could really hurt yourself doing that sweetie."
Despite Bonita's soft speaking voice, Tracker's ears dropped, just before Rubble started talking. "So this is the kid you wanted me to meet?"
Tracker became excited when he saw a chance for a new friend. Knowing this, Bonita set him down and let him run over to Rubble. "Go ahead and play Tracker. Just be gentle."
Rubble got a good look at Tracker after he ran over to him. He seemed like a typical hyperactive kid based on what he's seen so far. "He doesn't really look like much."
Tracker raised his eyebrow in confusion, and then he saw Rocky and Zuma and got excited when he did. "So you guys are in the Paw Patrol!? Wow! I didn't think they'd have a wolf!"
Rocky chuckled nervously, scratching the back of his head as he admitted that he didn't expect this either. "Yeah. Me neither."
Paleclaw then knelt down to Rubble, knowing he was confused about Tracker's constantly shifting attention span. "Don't take it personally Rubble. Since Tracker has ADHD, he's not exactly the best at focusing on one thing at once."
"Ya don't say." Rubble responded, and then he looked at Tracker again, figuring he could at least try to give him the time of night. "Welp, at least he's got character."
Paleclaw then brought up something else as they knelt down to Tracker and pointed to his head. "Say Tracker. Where's your hat?"
"I forgot it again." Tracker answered with a smile, leaving Paleclaw to rub his head with a laugh.
Marshall and Everest were on the dance floor together, and they were attempting to slow dance, which Marshall wasn't exactly the greatest at. Then again, he wasn't the best at dancing in general. He accidentally stepped on Everest's foot, making her flinch, much to his remorse. "Sorry honey. Stupid lack of coordination."
"It's fine, really." Everest assured Marshall, even joking a bit about his clumsiness. "We're just lucky they aren't playing a salsa worthy song."
Marshall laughed a bit, despite having to admit; he was glad they weren't doing that one either. "We sure are. That one's a little too hot for my tastes." Everest snorted in response to Marshall's pun, making the Dalmatian smile. He was always glad to make his girl's night.
Nearby, Claw was watching Marshall and Everest, and Chase sat down next to him with a concerned look. "You still have feelings for her?" Claw nodded his head yes, knowing that lingering on these thoughts wasn't healthy for him. Chase looked over to a couple female wolves, figuring Claw wouldn't mind getting himself out there. "Maybe you could try seeing if you like one of the female wolves here. It's at least a step in the right direction, even if it doesn't work out."
Claw saw Chase's point, knowing he couldn't harp onto Everest forever. "Ya know what? You're right. Thanks Chase." Chase and Claw shook paws as Claw then went out there to try and impress one of the girls.
Chase walked over to Skye, who was drinking some punch as he offered a paw to her. "Would you like to dance my love?"
"I'd love nothing more." Skye answered lovingly as she gave Chase her paw, allowing him to take her to the dance floor after recycling her cup.
Flare and Snow were getting to know some of the wolves around their age at the party, and while some were staring at him, a male wolf asked about one of their adventures. "You two were really there when Prison City blew up!? What was it like being in there!?"
"From what we saw, it was nothing but prisoners and misery." Snow playfully snarked, glad that Prison City blew up. She wasn't so happy about the casualties however. "Of course, some of the prisoners didn't deserve what happened to them."
Flare didn't want the mood to get too melancholy, so he wrapped his arm around Snow to try and keep her spirits up. "Some of the prisoners did make it out though. Maybe we'll see them again one day."
Snow always had to love Flare's optimism. Like with Rocky regarding Zuma's support, she always smiled when it came up. "We can only hope, right?"
Snow then noticed how close she was to Flare and moved his arm, making him concerned as she did. "What's wrong Snow?"
Snow didn't want to say anything that would upset Flare. She was purely acting on her feelings for him, which she tried to keep hidden. She also couldn't help thinking back to her promise to Flare, which she didn't want to break, even two years later. She could only think of one thing to say to avoid confessing either of those things. "I... don't know." Flare hoped he didn't say anything to upset Snow. Snow wished she could open up to him about her inner guilt, and her feelings for him. "Let's just enjoy the ceremony, okay?"
"Okay, but let me know if you wanna talk later." Flare advised Snow, letting her know that he was there for her if she needed him. Flare figured it was best to wait until after the ceremony to talk. Snow meanwhile, wished her view on love was more straightened out.
About an hour later, the Paw Patrol were getting to know the wolves, as well as Tracker and his mother, with Rocky looking to Paleclaw with a question for them. "I just started thinking about this Paleclaw. (Paleclaw looks at Rocky) How long exactly has Slash been leading the Wolf Clan for?"
"About two years I wanna say." Paleclaw admitted, surprising Rocky as Paleclaw then spoke up about something else. "I arrived after he became the leader, but Bonita told me he came here on April 23rd."
That caught Rocky off guard, and he spoke to himself about why that was. "That's when Flare joined the team." He decided to ask further in the hopes that Paleclaw knew anything. "He must have been dealing with these demon attacks for a while then. Did Bonita or anyone else here have to deal with them before he arrived?"
Paleclaw had to admit; Rocky knew the questions he needed to ask. They just hoped that wouldn't get him into trouble. Since no one was close to the corner they were at, they didn't feel bad about sharing more information. "I talked to a couple other wolves around here who participate in the defense of Wolfland. Apparently, the wolves here have been dealing with them for almost two and a half years now. I wanna say... November 25th is when they started attacking?"
"Then it can't just be a coincidence." Rocky responded, confusing Paleclaw as Rocky gave them some more information. "That's the day after we saved Everest in Prison City. It's when Charm shot Slash. Slash and the demons have to be connected somehow."
Paleclaw was about to comment on that, only for random fanfare trumpets to start playing, which set Rocky off. He started covering his ears and tried to cope, leaving Paleclaw to try and help him snap out of it. "It's okay Rocky. It's just Slash's fanfare." Paleclaw could tell just by looking at Rocky in this state that loud noises coming out of nowhere was a tick for him. Thankfully, they had an idea on how to help him calm down. "I think I should take you to Zuma."
"No need!" Zuma assured Paleclaw as he arrived, and then he started comforting Rocky. "It's okay Wocky. You're okay. The noise is over. You're safe now."
Paleclaw smiled as Rocky calmed down thanks to Zuma's comfort, just as everyone in the room had their attention caught by Slash walking to the middle of the room. He tapped his microphone to make sure everyone could hear him, and when he was sure he had everyone's attention, he spoke proudly into the microphone. "Greetings; residents of Wolfland! It is my honor to announce, that we have received the help of a famous rescue team from Adventure Bay! The Paw Patrol!"
The wolves all started cheering, which Rocky was able to handle a little better. It helped that Zuma was now rubbing his arm softly, which always soothed him. A set of eyes lit up in a dark corner as Slash kept speaking. "Having been leading this clan for two years," And then another on the roof, "I couldn't be happier knowing that my friends, and colleagues," and then a last set of eyes in a dark part of the stage. "are now under even more protection." Richie noticed the eyes instantly, and when one of them got close to Ryder, he ran forward. "This is only-"
"RYDER; LOOK OUT!" Richie's shout alerted everyone else as the creature lunged at Ryder as soon as he pushed him out of the way, which got the half demon slashed on the chest. This led to a human-like demon being revealed in the light, and Richie taking out his sword as the other two demons revealed themselves. "DEMON ATTACK! EVERYONE ELSE, RUN; NOW!" The Paw Patrol all got ready to fight with Richie fighting off against the first demon with Ryder getting up to help. As they fought, Slash led some Wolfland citizens out before observing the Paw Patrol from afar.
The second demon had it's sights on Marshall and Everest, the former of whom stepped in front of the demon and took out his gun. The demon wasn't scared however, and when he charged, Marshall shot at him, causing him to flinch when the bullet hit the middle of his chest. He then grabbed Everest, knowing that they didn't stand a chance without any knowledge. "Thanks Mar Mar! I just hope the others make it out too!"
"That's why I'm not leaving yet!" Marshall informed Everest, telling her what she needed to do. "Find where the other citizens who escaped are! If you see a demon, do what you can to stop them!"
Everest took out a gun of her own and spun it around a bit before cocking it in preparation. "I'm on it!" Marshall ran back in after kissing Everest's cheek, and the two went off to do the tasks they gave themselves.
Paleclaw was trying to defend Rubble and Tracker from the third demon, and Tracker was panicking as Paleclaw held it off with their knife. "I want my mommy; I want my mommy!"
"Well shouting it over and over again isn't gonna fix that Tracker!" Rubble pointed out, picking up a knife as Tracker then spotted her mom looking for her. He instantly got up and ran to her while crying, leaving Rubble to call it out. "You need a weapon you idiot!"
Paleclaw saw Tracker running after slashing at the demon's claws to deflect a slash and got scared. "Tracker!" This led to Paleclaw getting slashed, sending them to the ground and catching the attention of Chase and Skye.
Tracker and Rubble also looked horrified when they saw, but Bonita picked Tracker up and ran off with him as he called out in fear. "Paleclaw!"
Chase took out his gun and shot at the demon, refusing to let up and even shooting the demon in between the eyes. This led to the demon teleporting away as Chase helped Paleclaw up along with Skye. After noticing that Paleclaw was looking a little weak, Skye tried to keep them in the game. "Sit tight Paleclaw. We're gonna get you out of here."
Chase gave his own two cents on the situation, feeling they would be able to handle it no problem. "That's right. No one's being left behind." Chase then remembered Rubble and looked back to see him looking for something to defend himself with. "Rubble!"
Rocky and Zuma were helping Ryder and Richie scare off the first demon, just as Rocky noticed Rubble grabbing Paleclaw's knife and getting ready to fight. His instincts kicked in with Rubble becoming his primary focus as he looked to Zuma. "Zuma; stay with Ryder and Richie! Rubble needs me!" Zuma nodded in response as Rubble then saw the demon Flare and Snow were taking care of.
Snow saw a threw the punch bowl on the table they were backed up to at the demon, stunning him for a brief moment before she and Flare took out their guns. Just then however, Rubble stabbed the demon in the leg, only for the demon to kick him off and alert Flare and Snow. They tried shooting at the demon, only for it to swat their guns away right before going after Rubble. When Rocky saw this, the demon raised his claws with him running over and getting over Rubble to protect him.
This led to the demon slashing Rocky on his back, much to the horror of Rubble, and everyone else who saw. Zuma was the most horrified when he saw this as Ryder and Richie apprehended the demon they were taking care of. "WOCKY!" The instinctive cry to Rocky that Zuma made caught the demon's attention, giving Flare and Snow enough time to shoot him in the back and distract him. When the demon had his sights turned on them, Zuma went to Rocky's aid with Rubble climbing out from underneath him as Zuma expressed his horror. "Wocky? How do you feel?"
Rocky somehow looked much better than Paleclaw did. He was still hurt, but his health looked fine on the outside. "I'm fine for now. Go help Flare and Snow."
But there wasn't a need to. Richie stabbed the last demon in the back with his sword, slicing the rest of the way through it. Ryder arrived to where everyone else was as he showed them that he killed the other demon. "We couldn't find the last demon. He must've escaped."
Flare and the others looked at Rocky's wound, and besides Ryder and Richie, they were all worried sick. Flare only hoped Rocky would be able to survive a wound like that. "Do you guys think Rocky will be okay?"
"Don't worry Flare. He'll be fine." Richie answered, and Rocky didn't want to disrespect him, but wondered how he was so sure about that.
"How can you be so sure Richie?" Rocky asked with intrigue, and Richie then pointed to his back, holding a mirror up to it to show the wound healing by itself. This amazed the others, except for Ryder. Slash saw as well, showing immense concern before fleeing. This left Rocky speechless. He had to know how Richie knew he would be okay. "That wound could've killed me Richie. How did you know that would happen?"
Richie put his hand on Rocky's shoulder as he started to help him figure out what happened. "Well Rocky..." Rocky looked Richie dead in the eyes as he asked him a question that would help him figure that out. "Did you ever wonder how you recovered after that car hit you?" Rocky instantly remembered the day he met Richie, and when he did, his expression said it all. Ryder and Richie knew this was a lot to take in, and the others wanted to know what was going on. This was both in regards to the demon attack, and what Richie was getting at with his survival.
Rock music played as Rocky started speaking in regards to what was going to happen with specific moments from the next chapter being shown. "So much has been messing with my head lately. First I find out I'm half wolf, then I have this weird urge to protect Rubble at all costs, and now... this!? And there's so much about this stuff that we don't even know yet. What's going to happen to Paleclaw? Will Zuma be able to keep his promise to him? And why have I not turned demonic myself yet?"
Rocky finished the announcement with the words Paw Patrol in all blue with red outlines surrounded with a white border with Flare on the right, and Marshall on the left. "Next time, The Start to Protecting Wolfland. (Flare, Marshall, and Chase are shown to be searching around Slash's office with Chase in his spy gear) At least I know my friends still have my back."
