Disclaimer: So we're finally gonna have a chapter that focuses on demon lore. It won't be the only thing we focus on, obviously; lore without character is just a bunch of discussion about the world. But it will play a big role in the season, so I think it's important to discuss it now. I just hope the character and lore balance is handled well here.

Also, I don't own Paw Patrol.

Demon Defense arc Episode six: Demon Knowledge

As the rest of the team, and Rubble, were having breakfast, Zuma had something on his mind, and it caught Rocky's attention. "What's wrong Zuma?"

Zuma chuckled a bit before bringing up to Rocky what he was thinking about. "I should be asking YOU that question." Rocky listened as Zuma pointed out Slash hitting him. "It's been thwee days, and I still can't believe Slash did that to you."

"I can. He practically confessed to being involved in Charm being such a sadist." Rocky responded, showing his determination to get some answers once again. "Dr. Cramden sharing his knowledge with us should bring us closer to some real answers."

Zuma then had something pop into his mind that he felt would help Rocky's mental state. "Ya know Wocky, I just thought of one good thing you got fwom Slash." Rocky was caught off guard, but Zuma was quick to elaborate on what he was talking about. "You're both obsewvant enough to tell when someone's full of cwap." Rocky smiled as he realized that, glad that Zuma was helping him see the good in himself. Since Snow was in earshot, she used the conversation to improve her view on romance. She learned here that couples always reminded each other of their positive attributes.

After that brief talk, Flare returned with a cheerful smile, and a worried Marshall. "He's awake everyone!" The latter then tripped and rolled a bit upon turning. "Just before his food got cold too!"

"I'm okay!" Marshall went over to where his breakfast was and sat down next to Everest before he spoke up. "I am so sorry about that. Even on important days like this, my sleep schedule is way too hard to maintain."

"We'll get there one day baby." Everest assured Marshall before kissing his cheek lovingly. "At least you woke up in time for the lecture."

Marshall was glad for that at least, hoping it wouldn't be too hard for him to keep up with. "I just hope there's not too much reading involved." Marshall then snickered a bit before chiming in with another one of his infamous puns. "If there is, I'll probably have to book on out of there."

Marshall and Everest laughed at the pun before the others called Marshall out, "Marshall!" and then joined in on the laughter.

Marshall then got serious and brought up that he would need some serious help in that department. "But seriously. If it's in a font I can't read, I'll need help."

"Be sure to ask him just in case." Ryder reminded Marshall, who nodded before finally getting into his food. Thankfully, it was still warm, just like Flare said.

Meanwhile, in Charm's main base, the Golden Retriever was sitting at the monitors reading some fine literature with the title of The Matcher with the Tie. While reading the story, he checked the monitors to find Slash locking the same drawer Rocky noticed him unlocking during their arrival to Wolfland. Charm had a gut feeling that what he needed from Wolfland was in there. "That's enough silent drone. You may return for now."

The drone did as instructed with Trickery coming in with a suggestion on what Charm could do. "We could hunt down one of the demons and use them for assistance Charm."

"We can expand the army without demons Trickery." Charm informed Trickery confidently, looking over the rest of the monitors to see anything else he could use. "Besides; my father has all of the information on demons in his journal. If I'm right about where he hid it, we should have the knowledge he kept from me within four days time."

Trickery seemed anxious about something, trying once again to get Charm off of doing this. It was clear he was trying to hide something from his friend. "Maybe we don't need the knowledge of demons Charm. We can expand the army in a different way."

"Well we can't overthrow my father without knowing about demons first; it's too obvious a setback!" Charm reminded Trickery, ready to prepare for whatever he had to be ready for. "If we learn as much about demons as my father does, then we'll make our army that much more capable of stopping them from wiping us out." Charm then got a look at the monitor that showed Flare and the others arriving at Dr. Cramden's office. "Ah, yes; the lecture. (Claps paws together) Welp, we've gotta start somewhere. Silent drone! Help me spy on that meeting!"

The silent drone made it's mode into the building, managing to avoid detection well enough to find a spot on the ceiling to spy on everyone. Once it had a clear angle, Charm took out a pen and notebook so he knew to write this down. He knew it was important to have a backup plan, even if it wasn't much. After all, there was no guarantee he would be able to get the journal from his father. Even if he didn't get much out of the meeting, he would at least be able to use something against the demons.

Flare and the others were sitting in Dr. Cramden's office as Dr. Cramden got started with his lecture by showing something on a whiteboard. "Seeing as you all saw Paleclaw turn on the night of your ceremony, I'm certain you're aware of the most obvious examples of turning into a demon." Dr. Cramden pointed to two drawings; one of Paleclaw, and one of a demon. There was an arrow pointing from Paleclaw to the demon. "You must be careful when the demons attack again. If not, you could be the next victim."

Rocky had a question in mind regarding what he saw on Paleclaw's chest. Upon raising his paw, Dr. Cramden was happy to answer. "Yes; Rocky, was it?"

"Yes sir." Rocky confirmed, knowing his question wouldn't be a hard one for him. "After Paleclaw turned, I noticed their name carved across their chest. Are they the first demon to have something like that happen to them?"

Dr. Cramden laughed a bit before turning on a projector and showing the slides of some other demons. "I'm glad you asked Rocky." Dr. Cramden showed the slides of the demons he had, showing that he got quite close to the action. "I was studying from afar during many of the demon attacks. For most of them, I could only get pictures of the demons, either canine, or human. But there was one exception." Dr. Cramden showed a closeup he got of a demon who had the name 'Trevon' on his chest. "The fact that Paleclaw had this as well is no coincidence."

Rocky wrote this down in some kind of notebook as Dr. Cramden continued the lecture. "I didn't have much to work on regarding this, but thanks to you Rocky, I do." Rocky gave a thumbs up, and Dr. Cramden kept going, knowing that Rocky was listening closely. "Now to demon blood. Richie, seeing as you're half demon, I'm sure you know that demon blood is black."

"You got that right." Richie confirmed, watching closely as Dr. Cramden showed a vial of demon blood he managed to get to the others.

Charm was watching through his silent drone, making sure he paid attention to every detail in the lecture. He was finding it rather boring, but he still made sure to write down what he knew in case he didn't get the journal. Dr. Cramden was heard through the drone as he wrote it down as well. "It's occasional movements led me to believe what I found with this blood vial is a more violent blood type than in humans, or animals."

Charm had to admit; he did like the sound of violence. He felt he could use this if he ever got a demon blood sample himself. "Good thing I installed that lab." Charm continued to write what he heard while thinking about how he was going to keep his father from overthrowing him. 'Even if this is all I have upon the possible failure of getting the journal, at least I know my father won't be able to stop me.'

Trickery came back into the room to find Charm studying demon knowledge, bringing him some tea as he did. "Here's your tea my lord."

"Thank you Trickery, but you know I don't drink this crap." Charm reminded Trickery, leaving him to chuckle as he realized he forgot about that. "Get me a scotch please. And if the barkeep tries to remind you that I'm too young again, be sure to warn him that I could personally break his wine brewing paw if I wished to do so."

"Yes my lord." Trickery went off with the tea, sipping it himself as Charm started listening to the lecture again. As he listened onward, he continued writing down whatever he felt would be useful. Of course, that was everything, but still.

Flare and the others were still listening to the lecture with Dr. Cramden demonstrating the structure of a demon in terms of bone and size. "As you can clearly see, the demon is about the same size as the creature who turned into one. Since Paleclaw was a dog, they should be an easier demon to take care of."

"I wouldn't bet on that doc." Zuma corrected Dr. Cramden, knowing Paleclaw too well to believe they'd go down without a fight. "Paleclaw and I were in the same gang once, so we both have a decent idea of what it is to be tough in the line of battle."

"I see." Dr. Cramden thought for a moment about how hard they would have to fight for a dog like Paleclaw. "In that case, I'd recommend only going after them if you were strong enough to fight them in the past. However, I can't give a safe answer for that, since I've never fought the demons myself. Ask the defense force. They can help with that."

Chase decided to ask a question himself, knowing that it'd help for the investigation he was doing with Flare and Marshall. "Do you think there's a chance Slash could know a lot about demon stuff too?" Dr. Cramden gave Chase his full attention, and he tried to word this in the best way he could. "We learned some stuff ourselves that makes him a possible suspect behind the demon attacks. I just wanna know if you know anything that could act as a link to him."

Dr. Cramden saw that Chase looked at Rocky as he finished saying that. Feeling that this was to help him, he felt it was only fair to give a fair answer. "I can't spare much, but I CAN say that some of my demon knowledge comes from him." Dr. Cramden took out a series of brief novels that he made and printed out for an occasion like this. "You may be foolish, at least if being so open to me is any indication, but you're also the only ones brave enough to be open about suspecting Slash."

"To be fair Dr. Cramden, our history with him makes it a lot easier to suspect something like that." Flare pointed out, especially since he knew what Richie went through about this. He looked to Richie before bringing it up, and he nodded, knowing that it would help in their mission. "Richie even has a past with him, and it's not pleasant."

Dr. Cramden didn't know how to take that. Slash had been providing them protection for a long time now; at least in his eyes. He knew the Paw Patrol had good hearts however, and still gave them the novels. "Perhaps these novels can help you figure out the truth."

"Thanks Dr. Cramden. You can count on us keeping this a secret from Slash." Ryder assured Dr. Cramden, who smiled with gratitude over the assurance.

Marshall got a look at the novel himself, and when he opened it, he had trouble making out most of the words. He knew he'd have to ask, and thankfully, he was comfortable with this type of question thanks to his family. "Dr. Cramden, would you happen to have a version of this novel made with a Dyslexic friendly font?" This sparked Rubble's curiosity, since he'd never heard of Dyslexia before.

"No, I'm sorry Marshall. I should've taken that into consideration." Dr. Cramden apologized, taking out his laptop and getting to work on a novel for Marshall. "Feel free to have someone else help you with your studies for now. I'll make a new novel for you."

"Thanks Dr. Cramden." Marshall responded, setting the novel down so Dr. Cramden could work more efficiently, which he did.

Everest was quick to let Marshall know that she wouldn't be letting him fall behind anytime soon. "I can read you the facts from my novel Marshall."

"Thanks Everest." Marshall kissed Everest's cheek lovingly, knowing she would always have her back. "Those demons won't know what hit them."

Flare then got an idea, looking to Snow as he started to bring it up to them. "Ya know guys, I think I know a way that can make more fun for all four of us." Marshall, Snow, and Everest were definitely up for seeing what Flare had in mind. He always had a way of finding fun in everything.

Charm was crafting another sword in his blacksmith room as he spoke to Trickery about his plans. "And once these swords are all crafted, we'll be ready to get our wolf soldiers upon the exposure of my father. Just you wait until his true nature is revealed to them!"

Charm laughed a bit before Trickery brought up another possible outcome regarding Charm's plan. "Slash is quite crafty as well Charm. He could be planning for you to take the journal from him."

Charm considered that outcome, and then figured it wouldn't matter that much. "Oh well. I know you'll jump in and take the journal back here if it comes to that." Charm clearly trusted Trickery, and that made the Kishu feel even worse. Charm took notice to it and crossed his arms as he turned to Trickery, hoping that his friend was okay. "What's wrong Trickery? You've been really passive towards my schemes lately." Trickery tried to avoid speaking up, just as Charm's butt was shown right in front of his sword. It hadn't finished heating yet, and this led to a reaction when Charm cut...

PHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHT

...a ripe and bassy ten second fart onto the sword, making his butt vibrate as he surrounded the sword with a green cloud of moldy mushrooms that wrapped up the heating process. This surprised the both of them with Charm looking back during the fart and getting a good look at the sword. It was a green fart cloud color, and Charm was quite intrigued to see how well this worked. "Don't worry; this will be MY sword." Charm continued to work on his new sword with Trickery showing a look that seemed as if he was remembering something from long ago.

Back at the motel hut, Marshall was listening to Everest telling him about the stuff Dr. Cramden's novel had to say about demons. They were studying with Flare and Snow as well, since they wanted to do it as a group thing. "So you can get infected upon being bitten by a demon too. Does that mean this infection is kind of like... rabies?"

"Not unless Dr. Cramden was wrong about the saliva not doing anything." Snow pointed out, pointing to a part of the book that said the saliva didn't do anything. "We can definitely make a comparison to zombies though." Snow could tell that Flare was worried about something when she looked at him. Something told her it wasn't about his internal dilemma either. "Something on your mind Flare?"

"I just... feel bad for the demons that turned by getting infected." Flare admitted, having his own thoughts on what the demons were all about. "We saw what happened to Paleclaw five days ago. Some of the demons were just normal beings living their lives. And now that's been taken away from them." Flare looked at the others, knowing they would understand where he was coming from. "I can't even imagine what that's like. And they didn't even have a choice."

Snow couldn't help but wonder about that last part and was quick to ask about it. "I doubt they'd ever choose to become a demon Flare."

"Obviously not, it's just... they had everything taken from them against their will." Flare elaborated, wishing he could show empathy regarding the demons who turned from infection. "They lost the lives they had. They were forced to change and start acting like something they aren't. It's so unfair, and no one knows how to help them."

Snow put a paw on Flare's shoulder, thankfully being able to avoid thinking about the slap after the talk they had earlier that week. When he looked at her, she smiled and brought up how obvious this was. "I should've known you'd wanna help the ones who were infected."

Flare chuckled a bit, seeing that he was quite predictable after almost three years. Marshall then chimed in, wanting to ease Flare's mind about the situation. "And even if we can't, we'll definitely help the wolves who aren't infected yet." The three canines looked at Marshall, who reminded Flare of the song he performed before. "It's just like what you sang to us before. We're gonna show Wolfland that we're ready to help them, despite our fear."

Flare nodded in response, knowing his own advice all too well. "And that's exactly what I plan to do." Flare suddenly felt his stomach growl, giggling a bit before suggesting a lunch break. "After I eat of course."

"Pick a place with liver and I'll have no complaints." Everest responded, setting her novel down on Marshall's bed and holding his paw as they walked off together. Flare and Snow set their novels down and smiled to each other before walking off themselves. The four canines hoped they could get more knowledge in after they ate.

In the living room, some of the pups were taking a break as Chase and Zuma played each other in an intense round of Pup Pup Boogie. They were both doing quite well, being neck and neck actually. Though, in Zuma's eyes, that could've been partially because he was going easy on Chase. "You've got some impwessive moves Chase." Zuma then used his front legs to do a brief spin, "Nah nah nah neh nah." before getting back into the groove and dancing for real again. "But I've still got this."

Of course, Zuma's skills didn't stop Skye from calling to Chase in a supportive manner. "Don't let him get to you Chase! You've got this!"

Rocky laughed a bit, reminding Skye of who exactly Chase was up against. "You forget Skye. Zuma's been the reigning champion for five years now."

"Ha! As if I'd ever let that stop me from rising to the top." Chase confidently boasted, knowing that he could at least give Zuma a run for his money. "Quick reminder Zuma. Some of my free time is spent working out. The stamina of my legs is unreal." Zuma smirked, glad he could always count on Chase for a fun challenge.

Rubble was definitely getting a kick out of the game, despite not playing it himself. Rocky could tell he found it to be a fun time. "Can I try?"

"Sure. You can play a solo round after Chase and Zuma are done, so you can practice." Rocky answered, glad Rubble was enjoying his time with the pups. "We only have two controllers after all."

Chase and Zuma kept having a blast with their round as Claw came back in as he brought up the call he just finished. "I'm tellin' ya guys; you just can't beat Sweetie in an argument that involves jewelry. Or, really anything that she considers 'high class'." Claw sat down next to Rubble, bringing up something good he got out of the talk. "After that little dispute however, she did inform me that she plans to move to Adventure Bay with Caiohme when she turns eighteen."

"Who's Sweetie?" Rubble asked, having not heard about Sweetie until now. "Is she your girlfriend or something?"

Claw had started laughing right when Rubble asked if Sweetie was his 'girlfriend'. Even if they weren't related, she was the last pup she'd ever want to date. "As if I'd ever date her. She's actually my adoptive sister."

"Ah." Rubble started to think about his own family, wishing he knew who any of them were. "It must be nice having families in your lives."

Rocky caught onto Rubble's look of loneliness and started to worry. It was clear to him that Rubble wanted a family. Maybe he was just too independent to ask for it himself. "You'd like to have one too. Wouldn't you."

Rocky was right about Rubble's independence. He knew how observant Rocky was though. "It would be nice." He didn't go beyond that, but Rocky knew he was lonely. It made him look back to when he gaslit Rubble into trying out Flare's food. Could that moment be what leads to Rubble not being lonely anymore?

"You have us now." Rubble looked at Rocky, who smiled to him with genuine care. "At least if you decide to stay."

Claw then spoke up himself, knowing what it was like to feel alone and wanting to lift Rubble's spirits. "Take it from me Rubble. Living with the Paw Patrol is a life unlike any other. (Smirks) And not just because you'll be gasping for air half the time." Rubble laughed at Claw's joke, having gotten a full view of what he was referring to at that point.

Back at Charm's base, Charm was watching his soldiers training under the skilled combatants, Red Nose Pit Bull Break, and Blue Nose Pit Bull Pound. He needed to make sure everyone in his army was ready for when he got ready to steal Slash's journal. After observing them for a few seconds longer, he went over to a microphone and pressed the button on it that allowed him to talk to them on the speakers. "Listen up!"

Everyone paid close attention to Charm, who started talking again once he knew he had everyone's attention. "I see Break and Pound have been keeping you busy. That's good. That's the kind of tenacity I want to see after I get my father's journal." The soldiers were glad to see Charm praising them as the Golden Retriever then informed them of his big plan. "As you all know, my father has studied everything he could on demons, and a section of his journal is dedicated to that. In order to stop him, I'll need you all to know how to take on his demon army."

Break and Pound looked at each other with concern regarding whether or not they'd be able to memorize all of that information. Charm made it clear that he'd want them all to be as prepared as possible. "Don't worry; you'll all have plenty of time after I get the journal. After I steal it in four days time, I'll read through it to study every bit of knowledge on demons I can find. And after I do, I'll make enough copies for all of you to memorize it off of. And remember. No, slacking!"

Charm turned the microphone off after making one final message to his army. "Back to training!" He then headed off to continue preparing himself for his mission.

After lunch, Flare and Marshall were video chatting with Wave and Margareth later that day, and Flare was telling them about how friendly the people in Wolfland were. "And outside of Slash, everyone in Wolfland has been really nice to us. They even have a scientist named Dr. Cramden here, and he's helping us with our investigation on why the demon attacks are happening!"

Marshall then spoke up himself to further clear up what Dr. Cramden was doing for them. "More or less. He doesn't know much more about the attacks than we do, but he gave us his novels on demons in case it could help out." Marshall then chuckled a bit upon another detail that entered his mind. "He even started working on a special novel for me after I told him I have Dyslexia."

"That's good. The last thing I want is for my babies to fall behind on the mission." Wave reminded Flare and Marshall, who laughed in sync over their mother's affection. Wave then got worried as she thought about the creatures Flare and Marshall were facing. "Would you say these demons are more dangerous than Charm?"

Flare and Marshall didn't know how to answer that yet, but Flare gave an answer that he hoped would fit. "Maybe? We've only been attacked by them once so far."

"WAIT; WHAT!?" Margareth snatched the laptop from Wave as she frantically asked about the demon attack. "You mean you've already fought those things!?"

"Don't worry Margareth. None of us were hurt." Marshall assured Margareth, hoping to help her feel better about this.

Flare then remembered something he sent to Wave and asked about it excitedly. "Oh; mom! Did you get the Mother's Day gift we got you?"

"It came in yesterday!" Wave announced as she happily held up her new fishing rod. "Thanks a bunch boys. Tell Zuma I'll be ready to join him for a session when you guys are in town."

"You got it mom!" Flare exclaimed as he hugged Marshall, with all three Munroe siblings glad to see their mother happy.

Flare and Marshall were back to studying with Snow and Everest, and Rubble was watching from the door as Everest read demon facts for Marshall from her novel. "Well we already had the super strength figured out from the ceremony. And that climbing buildings ability on top of it could also prove trouble."

Flare noticed Rubble peeking through the door, and being the nosy pup he was, he already knew what he was doing. "Cmon Rubble, you have to be stealthier than that." Rubble flinched upon being called out and came into the room as Flare then got down to why Rubble was eavesdropping on them. "Did you need something?"

"Not really. I just had a question for Marshall." Rubble explained, hoping this wouldn't come off as offensive considering the topic.

Marshall was happy to help and let Rubble know he was all ears. "Fire away Rubble."

Rubble tried to find the best way to word this, since this was a new topic for him. "It came to mind after we got those novels from Dr. Cramden." Marshall realized what Rubble was asking about quickly and let the Bulldog ask what the question was. "What's Dyslexia? Is it something that makes you stupid?"

Marshall couldn't help snorting at Rubble's question, being quick to correct it as he began. "No Rubble, that's not what it is. Although, it can look that way sometimes." Marshall picked up his backpack and started looking through it so he could show Rubble a direct example. "It's a learning disability that makes reading and spelling a lot harder for me." When he found a trio of stapled together papers, he took it out and handed it to Rubble. "It can lead to stuff like this."

Rubble started reading the papers, and when he saw the title, Marshull Gaje Monrow: Fur Teh Pah Patroll, he couldn't help but start laughing. "You were gonna apply to the Paw Patrol with this!?"

"Sure was." Marshall admitted with a light laugh himself. "Good thing mom was there to proofread it. Our dad had Dyslexia too, so she had the experience to help."

"By now, I'm sure you've also noticed that Marshall also sucks at time management and coordination skills." Snow chimed in bluntly, making Marshall chuckle at the jab towards his quirks. "And yet, he still makes most of us wanna cringe with his well timed puns."

The pups all started laughing at Snow's snarky jab at Marshall's puns. Rubble had another question, now that he knew the Paw Patrol accepted pups with disabilities. "So... since you have Dyslexia, and Rocky has Autism... does that mean Tracker could join too with his ADHD?"

"If he wants to." Marshall answered, having been with the team long enough to know that stuff like that didn't stop anyone before.

Rubble smiled when he heard that, knowing it wouldn't stop Tracker either. "Maybe one day, we can join the Paw Patrol together."

"Oooh, a team audition. That'd be a first." Everest pointed out, finding the idea of two pups joining at the same time to be quite fun."

"Actually Everest, it wouldn't. Rocky and Zuma did that too." Marshall reminded Everest, not quite getting the difference between the two.

"Yeah, but that was without the application. This one would have Rubble and Tracker applying themselves." Everest added, helping Marshall see what she meant.

Snow then decided to get back to memorizing what Dr. Cramden knew about demons. "Not to be rude Rubble, but we gotta get back to studying."

"Okay. I'll go see if Rocky and Zuma need me to join them." Rubble ran off after declaring what he was gonna do. "See ya later guys!"

"You too Rubble!" Flare called out, and then he got back to studying with the other three. "Speaking of Rocky, I think he could make some cool traps in case the demons DID climb on the buildings in Wolfland."

"That'd be perfect!" Snow responded, knowing for a fact that Rocky's traps would be more than useful. "Hopefully the demons aren't resistant to anything that can be used for traps."

Meanwhile, Slash was talking to someone on the phone in his office, and he seemed quite annoyed when doing so. "Of course I predicted that! Why wouldn't someone want to steal a book of knowledge from someone when they know it's in their possession?"

Trickery was on the other line, revealing himself to still be more loyal to Slash than to Charm. "He could still come at a time when you least expect it. I only request you take this seriously. Losing you is the last thing I want."

"Has Charm learned the truth yet?" Slash asked, feeling that he would be okay if he was unaware of what happened to him.

"No, he doesn't. But I fear he's close."

"And does the device I gave you still work?"

"...No, it doesn't."

"WHAT!?" Slash exclaimed, slamming his paw on the desk as he demanded to know what happened to the device. "That device was designed specifically to control Charm so he wouldn't attempt to overthrow me! Didn't you start using it after he killed me!?"

"Of course I did!" Trickery assured Slash, and his face made it clear how much he hated disappointing him. "He found it last month and broke it!"

"Trickery!" Charm's voice made Trickery flinch. He hung up, send a brief apology text to Slash, and turned around as Charm addressed him. "I've decided that my mission in four days will be done first thing in the morning. I should have the energy then to get the journal."

"Yes. Sounds brilliant my lord." Trickery responded, managing to hide his nervousness rather well. "Anything else?"

"Well... there is one more thing." Charm admitted, walking up to Trickery and signaling him to kneel down. Once he did, Charm hugged him, much to his surprise. He embraced Charm as the Golden Retriever opened up a little to him. "You're probably the only real friend I've ever had. If there's anyone here I wouldn't want to lose, it's you."

Trickery didn't know what to say, other than the obvious. "I've... never seen this sentimental side of you before Charm." It appeared he was capable of showing compassion. If only Charm knew what he and Slash were doing. After Charm let go and backed up, Trickery wondered if there was more to Charm's time with him. "Did you want me to help with something for the mission?"

"No, you're good. You can get back to whatever you were doing now." Charm walked off, and once he was far enough away from Trickery, his scoff made it clear that he overheard the conversation. This was further confirmed as he took out Trickery's deck of magic cards. "Idiot. I should've known he betrayed me." It was clear that Charm was ready to deceive Trickery right back. Trickery's biggest mistake was thinking he could get anything past Charm.

Later that night, Claw and Zuma were sneaking over to Snow and Everest's room, trying their best not to make any noise as they did. The two friends smiled and nodded to each other before entering the room quietly. Zuma signaled Claw to go to Snow's bed, and he did, and Zuma made his way over to Everest's. Once the two pups got over to the huskies beds, they lifted up their blankets carefully and put them right over themselves, and the Husky they were pranking. After Zuma put his butt in Everest's face, and Claw's in Snow's, what left their rear ends were...

PHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHT

PHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHT

...two loud and bassy ten second farts, Zuma's hitting Everest in the face, and Claw's hitting Snow in the face, and both of their butts vibrating from the yellow eggy blasts. After the two Huskies woke up, they coughed and gagged with Claw and Zuma shaking their butts at them as they recovered. Snow was quick to call them out with clear sarcasm in her voice. "Real mature guys! You two really proved your place on this team!" After that however, the two pups grunted and ripped...

BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUP

BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUP

...two ripe and bassy ten second farts, making their butts vibrate again as yellow eggy butt gas filled the Huskies room. Snow and Everest evacuated with Zuma congratulating Claw on his gas blast. "Gweat job Claw dude." Zuma then lifted his butt to the right, hitting Claw with...

PFFFFFFFFFFT

...a ripe five second fart of rotten fish, making his butt vibrate as Claw was hit with the green cloud. Claw then congratulated Zuma on his own gas while turning and bending over to where his butt was pointed right at his face. "Same to you Zuma."

BRRRRRRRRRRAAAAAAAAAAT

...Claw hit Zuma with a nasty green cloud of spoiled meat, making his butt vibrate as Zuma was hit with another green cloud. The two friends laughed at their prank with Snow and Everest rolling their eyes over how immature their friends were. And even though she knew why, Snow was sometimes surprised by how Zuma was able to be with Rocky for this long. Then again, her love interest was kind of gassy as well, so she didn't really have much of a leg to stand on there.

Flare was coming out of the bathroom in his and Marshall's room with the pup drying his hands off while making his way to his bed. Upon sitting down on his bed, he looked over to the other bed and saw Marshall in a weird looking sleeping position that proved just how zonked out he was. Flare giggled silently, and then he saw his novel on his side table. He picked it up and got a good look at the cover. The demon on the cover looked rather intimidating, much like the ones on the night of the ceremony. At least this one couldn't hurt Flare, or any of his friends.

Flare didn't know much about Slash, but what he DID know pointed to him being the prime suspect for the demon attacks. His history with Richie, the fact that he hit Rocky when he was asking him questions about Charm, the document he found with Chase and Marshall four days ago, it all added up to blaming him. Flare had to find out how to busy him, just like the rest of the Paw Patrol did. Whatever Slash has planned with the demons can't be anything good.

To be continued.

Rock music played as Flare started speaking in regards to what was going to happen with specific moments from the next chapter being shown. "So that's why I've been having these thoughts for the past three weeks. I've never heard of this before, but now that I have, it all makes sense. Wait; Charm's here now!? And he's after Slash's journal! Oh great; if that journal really DOES have all the knowledge he needs on demons, we're screwed; at least if he wants to use the demons himself!"

Flare finished the announcement with the words Paw Patrol in all blue with red outlines surrounded with a white border with Flare on the right, and Marshall on the left. "Next time, Charm's Arrival To Wolfland! (Charm was shown to be fending off against a demon, seemingly even stronger than the ones Flare and the others faced at the ceremony) I still can't believe it's been two years since we last saw him."
