Disclaimer: This is it everyone. Charm is finally getting physically involved in the main conflict. I know some of you were probably skeptical about his storyline this season for obvious reasons, but don't worry; I've been brainstorming this outcome for months. That should hopefully make everything flow together well.

Demon Defense arc Episode seven: Charm's Arrival To Wolfland

Marshall, Chase, Rocky, and Zuma were playing video games in the motel hut living room. Chase and Marshall were currently playing a round of some fighting game, while the other two were video chatting with Zuma's family. As usual, Zuma was giving sweet talk to Melody, who was more than excited to see him. "And I bet you're also excited to leawn how to play guitar when you get oldew. You're gonna be the best musical sister in the wowld! Yes you awe! Yes you awe!"

Melody laughed a bit before clapping happily in regards to being taught by her brother. "Zuma!"

Celeste then checked in one more time on something Zuma told his family about earlier. "Now are you sure you're okay after what happened to Paleclaw?"

"Yes mom, I'm okay." Zuma assured his mother, despite still being uncertain about whether or not he would be able to help Rocky, or keep his promise to Paleclaw. "At least for now." Zuma instantly knew how to make himself feel better and surprised Rocky by hugging his arm. "Cuddles!"

Rocky laughed a bit before happily cuddling Zuma's arm as well. Gabe laughed a bit himself as he brought up this new dynamic Rocky and Zuma had. "Be careful Zuma. Rocky's new form might lead to some crushed bones."

"We don't have to wowwy about that dad." Zuma assured his father, reminding him of who Rocky was as he smiled at his boyfriend. "Wocky's the softest pup I know. Litewally!"

Rocky gave a look that showed how concerned he was about possible future events. "Hopefully, I can stay that way."

Zuma continued to cuddle Rocky for comfort, which did help. Flare then came over, announcing his return just as Chase won. "I'm back!"

"Yes!" Chase exclaimed, proudly boasting about his victory to his Dalmatian best friend. "Better own up Marshall. I'm better than you at hottest butt, AND video games!"

"Yeah, yeah, eat it up Chase." Marshall responded with a smiling eye roll, and then he focused his attention to Flare. He was curious to know what the therapist said about his condition. "So what'd Dr. Paw-Shell say?"

Flare sat down on a chair close to Marshall's spot on the couch, opening up the best he could about his diagnosis. "Apparently I'm going through something called... Gender Dysphoria." Everyone started listening closely with Zuma having already muted the call in case Flare didn't want his family to hear. "She said it creates a sense of unease inside of me thanks to a mismatch between the gender I was born with, and my real gender identity."

Since Zuma was close to Paleclaw, he knew a thing or two about this kind of thing. "You think that's what Paleclaw went thwough before they found their twue identity?"

"It'd make sense if that happened. I just wish I could ask them." Flare admitted, showing how anxious he was about this whole thing. "Now I have to try and find someone else who experienced this and hope they can point me in the right direction. I don't wanna be the wrong me for my whole life."

Marshall was quick to walk over to Flare, holding his paws to let him know that he'd always be there for him. "I haven't reached anything like that in my medical books yet, but once I do, I'll do everything I can to help you understand this better." Flare couldn't be more grateful. Marshall really was the perfect brother to him. "It may not even be in the medical book I have right now. I don't care. I'll learn as much as I have to if it means you'll be happy."

Flare hugged Marshall to thank him for how much he was willing to support him. "Thank you Marshall." Of course, he expected nothing less. After all, marshall was there for him since his birth.

Chase, Rocky, and Zuma were quick to let Flare know that they had his back too. "We're here for you Flare."

"That's right."

"You can count on us Flawe dude!"

Flare felt more at ease thanks to the support of his friends. He was still confused about this stuff, but at least he had the support from his friends and family to help him. It made the self discovery journey he was on all the more rewarding.

Rubble was heading into Rocky and Zuma's room, just as he overheard them talking about Charm. "Do you think I'll be able to show that kind of affection to Charm someday?"

Zuma's expression from when Rubble entered the room made it clear that the question was kind of hard for him to answer. "I hope so. We'd have to hope whatever happened to him was fixable."

Rocky's determination was made clear as he clenched his fist with a tenacious smile. "Then we'll need an opportunity to get dad to crack about it."

"You guys talking about Charm again?" Rubble asked, hopping onto the bed with his curiosity showing. "What sparked talk about him this time?"

"Well Rubble, I'm sure you remember of what Flare told us today." Rocky started, and Rubble nodded his head yes, allowing Rocky to explain more as he rubbed his arm. "Seeing Marshall being such a supportive brother to him made me start thinking about Charm again. I know it might be a long shot to ask, but I hope that someday, I'll be able to be as loving to him, as Flare and Marshall are to each other."

Rubble got that, having already known quite a bit about Rocky's wishes. He had his own insight, which he shared as he climbed up onto the bed completely. "I've never met Charm before, but I think it could happen. It's like Zuma said. We have to know if we can fix whatever made Charm that sadist you guys have been fighting for so long." Rubble then asked a question as Zuma scooted over to Rocky and nuzzled his cheek lovingly for comfort. "Do you really think Slash caused it?"

"The last words I heard from him before my previous life fell apart keep me from thinking anything else." Rocky admitted as he stopped rubbing his arm. "And he practically confessed with how secretive he was about it last week. I just wish I knew what it was."

Rubble couldn't exactly empathize with Rocky's pain, since he didn't know anyone from his blood family. He definitely cared about the goal he was striving for however. "Then I hope you're right about this."

"We all do Wubble." Zuma chimed in, knowing how crushed Rocky would be if all of his hope was for nothing. "And hey. Something has to come up that'll show us what that is."

"If it does, then I'll be ready to find it." Rocky assured Zuma, and then he looked to Rubble, since it was getting late. "Anyway, it's getting late. You should get some sleep Rubble."

"Fine, fine. I'll see you in the morning." Rubble responded with a smile, despite still being slightly annoyed by Rocky looking out for him. He was starting to warm up a little more however, now that he knew Rocky was only expressing the affection he never got to with Charm. He still hoped however, that Rocky would remember that he wasn't his brother.

Soon after Rocky and Rubble's talk, Charm was sneaking into Wolfland late enough to where he knew everyone outside of the Wolfland Defense Force would be inside. He made sure no one was watching in his direction for every turn he made up until he reached Slash's office. He almost got spotted by one of the guards, but hid just quickly enough to avoid detection. He then knocked him out with a swift karate chop to the neck. He couldn't kill anyone now; they'd know he was here. For now, he had to rely on stealth, and make his way to his father's office.

Charm made it to the window right outside of Slash's office, opening it quietly and peeking inside. He saw Slash sleeping at his desk, and Charm knew this was gonna be risky once he noticed. He climbed in anyway, knowing that he needed that journal. He then closed the window before he looked at the drawer Rocky saw Slash close when they met again. It was the top right one, and Charm came prepared for the difficult lock. He took out an advanced looking lockpick and put it into the lock.

Once the lockpick was in, it made it's way to picking the lock without breaking. Thankfully, Charm set it to a quiet setting before he came in, so it didn't make any noise. The lockpick anyway. Thankfully, the actual lock moving was quiet enough to keep Slash asleep. Once the drawer was unlocked, Charm opened it quietly and got a good look at what was in there. To his delight, it was indeed his father's journal! He took it out and retracted his lockpick, being more than joyful as he thought to himself about how easy this was. 'Like taking candy from a baby!'

"Hello son." Charm flinched and looked to find his father peeking at him with one of his eyes, showing that Slash was just pretending to sleep. He gave off a different personality than he did with Flare and the others. He was much more pompous, arrogant, and condescending, in his tone of voice. "Aww. Baby got caught stealing from daddy. You just might need a spanking."

'And there's the punchine.' Charm thought to himself, just before he then kicked his dad's chair and made it recline and jumped up to the window. Slash grabbed his tail, leading to Charm getting an idea on how to mess with his father. "A spanking you said?" Charm's butt was shown as he gave a smug grin and saw his father smirking before Charm taunted him with a butt shake. "I'll do ya one better." Charm then grunted and ripped...

BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUP

...a big and nasty fifteen fart that reeked of rotten eggs right into his father's face, making Charm's butt vibrate as he grinned proudly at his gas bomb. He then hopped out of the window and slammed it shut, having nothing to lose now that he knew someone else must've heard that. He happily taunted his father when running off, leaving Slash to growl as he recovered from his son's fart. "Daddy must've gotten soft! Either that or he just faked having balls too!"

"Soft is one thing I'll never get you infernal brat." Slash whispered to himself, opening up the window to clear it out before pressing a button on the middle of his desk.

Flare and the others were happily sleeping that night, only for all of them to be awoken at once from the sound of Rocky's alarm system. It didn't freak Rocky out since Zuma was cuddling him at the time, but he still had his attention caught when the culprit was mentioned by Slash. "Attention Wolfland! Charm Ralston, my second born son as a matter of fact, has stolen my journal!"

"Charm!?" Rocky hopped out of bed, leading to Zuma letting go of him as he hopped out of bed with him. "Come on Zuma! This might be our only chance for answers!"

"Lead the way Wolfy!" Zuma responded affectionately, and the two decided to let Rubble, who was still sleeping, stay in the room. They felt it'd be safer for him than going after Charm with them.

Charm has already made it to the top of the wall he used to get into Wolfland, and now he had to think of a plan to get back to his base. After hopping down and sliding from the wall to jump off, he took out one of the cards he stole from Trickery and threw it aside. He then threw the book there, knowing that it would show up under his bed. 'Good thing those send to the location you're thinking of.' Charm then hid in a bush, sending a text to Trickery to keep him off. 'Now I just gotta keep Trickery from pulling a fast one on me for dad, and I'll have the journal all to myself!'

Charm sent a text to Trickery that said 'Govern Complex caught me. We need a plan B.' to keep him from learning of his success. He then thought about the other cards he had on him. 'He must have noticed by now. I'll have to hope he'll know what happens if he finds the journal.' Just then, Charm heard a demon from behind him and jumped out of the bush. "Oh great! Just what I needed; one of my dad's play toys!" Charm then got ready to fight off the demon by taking his sword out. "Bring it on blood freak!"

Rocky and Zuma climbed up to the wall as well, having spotted Charm from afar thanks to where they started searching. When they spotted Charm fighting off the demon, Rocky got worried and spoke to Zuma about it. "We have to help him Zuma!"

Zuma observed the fight, and didn't feel that Charm would need help. "Do we? Chawm's pwetty tough to take on."

"That's true, but he's still done for if the demon hits him." Rocky reminded Zuma, sliding down himself to get a good view on the fight. "I'll go in!" Zuma stayed up onto the wall, since he and Rocky both knew he would be infected, unlike him.

Charm continued to fight off the demon, which Rocky noticed looked tougher than the ones he and the others fought last week. "Daddy really wants this book back, huh!? He must really have Wolfland wrapped around his fingers!" Just then, the demon teleported. Since Charm never saw Richie do this, he didn't know demons could do that and got caught off guard.

After the demon slashed at Charm's back, scaring Rocky as his younger brother then fell to the ground. "CHARM!" With Charm's gash wound visible for Rocky to see, he took out his gun and shot at the demon. It teleported away before it could get shot however, since Slash had informed the demons of Rocky's immunity. Rocky went to check on Charm after Zuma slid down as well, now that it was safe for him to do so. "Charm!"

Charm struggled to get up a little, but was in the same condition as Rocky was when he got slashed himself. After Zuma ran over to the two, Charm was quick to assure them that he had no intention of killing them. "If you can believe it, I didn't plan on fighting anyone for this mission. I just came for my father's journal. Rocky, I think you know why."

Rocky could believe that with how secretive his father was. The fact that those words from seven years ago lingered in his mind helped with that. He was vague to avoid letting him know it was about why he was sadistic. "Do you think it has something in it that explains more than that? Something about us?"

Charm was intrigued by the question, and figured he should answer, knowing that he couldn't run in his condition. Actually, something inside of him sparked a little that led to him thinking about the possibility. "Now that you bring it up, I found this device he was using on me a couple weeks ago. Turns out, he made a deal with Trickery to keep me in check." Zuma was surprised by this, but Rocky wasn't. His deal with Trickery was the one thing Slash DID tell him. "I suppose it's not out of the question that he'd have some secrets about us in his little diary."

"Was Slash the contwolling type when you two lived with him?" Zuma asked out of curiosity, and Rocky nodded his head yes, which helped Zuma believe Charm better. It helped to have experience with Slash's true colors. "Then that device must've been what you heawd Slash talking about!"

Before Charm could ask about that, Rocky and Zuma were then shocked to find that Charm's wound was healing in the same way Rocky's was. Since Charm noticed this as well, he was surprised when Rocky asked about it. "Charm; did... did you know you could do that?"

"Even if I told you the truth, I doubt you'd believe me." Charm responded as he stood up, despite the two pups noticing the stunned look he gave from it. Slash was watching from the wall, having noticed Charm's apparent immunity kick in right in front of Rocky and Zuma. "Now I don't have time to chat, and my only goal was for the journal. I need all the knowledge I can get on demons to prepare my army for them. So unless you want me to add an optional objective, you'd best not pester me!"

Charm ran off, leaving Rocky's urge to help him coming out again as he called out to him. "Charm, wait!"

Rocky and Zuma watched Charm run off as Slash arrived to where they were, being infuriated that he lost his journal. "Did you manage to retrieve my journal?"

"Nope." Zuma informed Slash, wondering what Charm would've wanted with that journal. "What do you think he needed it for anyway?"

"None of your business." Slash answered, making Rocky agitated at his continued refusal to share information with them. If he cared about Wolfland, he'd share what he knew with everyone else. "Come now. We must track him down and stop him." Slash moved onward with Rocky and Zuma walking off with him to find Charm. Rocky started to give a call to the others, knowing they should be updated about this.

Rocky and Zuma were searching for Charm alongside Slash, who was getting more and more anxious, which Rocky was quick to notice. Knowing that the journal was much more important than a regular journal, he decided to get some information off of him about it. "So dad. What exactly is in that journal of yours?"

Slash wasn't about to share what he knew with Rocky. He knew it'd get him exposed. He decided to spare the information he knew would keep him safe. "It's where I write down the things that happen in Wolfland." The vagueness was getting on Rocky's nerves again with Slash speaking some more. "The attacks we face, the facts we learn about the demons, the hope that you'll assist us, stuff like that."

Rocky knew it wouldn't be smart to bring up the document Flare, Marshall, and Chase found, so he decided to keep the conversation at a normal pace. "Sounds advantageous." Zuma sensed Rocky's frustration rising and held his paw for comfort as they kept moving. "No wonder you want it back from Charm."

"He's the last one I need using my own information against me. Particularly the first-" Slash then stopped when he found a loose piece of Golden Retriever fur and picked it up to sniff it. After he did, he advised Rocky and Zuma to stay close. "He's nearby. Stay close in case he's already learned something."

As they kept moving, Rocky got even more frustrated that he couldn't ask about Charm. "He knows I'm onto him. If only I could get him to talk."

"We don't need him to leawn Wolfy. We'll figuwe it out one day." Zuma assured Rocky in an attempt to comfort him. Despite Rocky still being upset by the situation, he tried to keep his cool for when they found Charm.

Charm was nearby in the forest, trying to find the best way to take back to his base as he looked at his radar. He knew he had to get back soon, otherwise, someone might find the journal and make him lose his chance. 'Okay. Obviously, I can't go back the exact way I came. It's way too open, and not enough hiding spaces.'

"CHARM RALSTON!" Charm looked back after flinching and found Slash running towards him, leading to him taking his sword out as his father threatened him. "You won't be escaping with that book!" Just as Rocky and Zuma arrived, Slash attempted to jump kick Charm, who ducked and aimed a sword slash at his father. Slash rebounded quickly, aiming a round house kick at Charm, only for Charm to use it to low sweep him. Slash then used this to his advantage, using the back of his foot to lift Charm up and throw him into a nearby tree.

Rocky and Zuma knew this would be a bad fight to get involved with physically. Charm got back up quickly, and pointed his sword at Slash menacingly. "Then I'm sorry to disappoint father, but I don't have the book on me."

Not knowing that Charm had Trickery's cards on him, Slash became furious and demanded the truth. "You can't lie to me Charm! Where is it!"

"It's not on me!" Charm informed Slash, and then he made a cover up story to throw him off. "One of the demons snatched it off of me after I ran off!" Slash was about to get angrier, but instead, put on the same pompous and narcissistic expression from before. The sight of this surprised Zuma, but not Rocky or Charm. After all... "Tch. You always were a good actor."

Slash extended his claws, being ready to defeat Charm before he went to find his book. "One shouldn't be so careless with someone else's belongings Charm." He then held them out, giving a pose of dominance and the readiness for combat. "You need to be disciplined!"

Charm thought about the situation he was in now. His only option was to fight. His only other method would get him busted. 'Crap. I can't use the cards in front of father. He'd just let Trickery know and help him catch on. I'll have to hope I can survive this fight like I did that demon scratch.' Preparing to challenge his father, he looked to Rocky to keep him out of the fight. "Stay out of this if you know what's good for you Rocky! As I said before, the journal was my only goal!" Rocky nodded and put his paw up to keep Zuma back. He knew neither of them could keep up with Slash and Charm.

With that out of the way, Charm and Slash charged at each other with Charm getting ready to make the first sword strike. "Say goodnight once again father!" When he made the swing however, Slash kicked the sword to the side, sending it into a tree. This stunned Charm, showing that his father had gotten much stronger than he did when he killed him. He knew Slash wouldn't let him run, so he dodged his claw slash and clenched his fists. "Alright. Fist fight it is then!"

Charm dodged another one of Slash's strikes and attempted to kick him, only for Slash to grab it and pull Charm towards him. Before he could slash at Charm, the Golden Retriever kneed him in the chest, making him let go of Charm before aiming a strong punch at him. Charm dodged, only for Slash to move his fist to the right and backhand Charm to the side. This caused him to fall over before recovering quickly. Slash then ran towards him and attempted to slash at him. Charm barely managed to roll out of the way in time before aiming a low kick.

Slash jumped over the low kick and stomped on Charm's knee, making the Golden Retriever yelp from the pain. Rocky and Zuma were shocked, having never expected to see Charm get one of his limbs broken. Charm then took his gun out, only for Slash to quickly grab it himself and kick Charm into a tree. This led to Charm falling to the ground before Slash shot at his leg with the broken knee. This made Charm yelp again, only for Slash to shoot him in the arm.

Slash was having so much fun with this that he forgot Rocky and Zuma were even in the area. Even though this was Charm they saw getting tormented, Rocky and Zuma were freaked out by Slash's grin. He was clearly enjoying this. But how could someone enjoy torturing their own son!? It was so beyond sick! After three more gunshots, one to the right arm, one to the unbroken leg, and one to the rib, Charm found himself barely able to howl out in pain. That is, before he coughed up some blood. His demon immunity clearly didn't make him immune to pain.

Slash picked Charm up and pinned him to the tree just as Rocky took his phone out. Slash held the gun up to Charm, who was horrified by what looked to be his fate. Slash made it clear he wasn't messing around, but Charm wasn't about to give in. "I'm not joking you worthless brat. You have one final chance. WHERE. IS. MY. JOURNAL!?" Charm flipped his father off with his good paw and attempted to kick him, leaving Slash to sigh in response. "Still as stubborn as ever."

"DAD, STOP IT!"

Charm and Slash looked to find Rocky walking over to them, leaving Zuma horrified as Slash then turned the safety on so he didn't accidentally kill Charm while hearing Rocky out. "What is it Rocky?"

"I just realized that some of the demons might've taken this as an opportunity to attack Wolfland." Rocky lied, and Slash realized that he couldn't rule it out as a possibility. "If you're not there to help, who knows what could happen?"

Slash knew he couldn't risk anything if too many Wolfland citizens got hurt or turned. He set Charm down before giving Rocky a direct order. "See if you can get Charm to tell you where the journal was. (Looks at Zuma) Zuma, I don't care what you do."

Before Slash left however, Rocky stopped him and pointed out something he almost forgot about. "Charm's gun?" Slash sighed, knowing that there was no point in fighting about this, and handed Rocky the gun. "Thank you. Now go protect the village."

Slash rushed off with Rocky walking over to Charm with Zuma. Charm couldn't understand why Rocky was helping him. After everything he did, this was the last thing he could see happening. "Why are you helping me?"

"Because!" Rocky exclaimed before explaining why he convinced Slash to back off. "Despite everything you've done over the years, no matter how hard I try to deny it... I care about you."

Something sparked in Charm at that moment, just like when he saw Everest sacrifice herself for Snow back in Calm-Ten. For some reason, both moments he saw someone expressing genuine compassion for someone made him feel something that he was unfamiliar with. It was much stronger now for a reason he couldn't identify. He didn't know how to describe it. Charm shook off this feeling and got down to business with Rocky. "So that means you're going to help me kill our father?"

Rocky and Zuma looked at each other concernedly after hearing that. Rocky then gave his word to Charm on a specific circumstance for that. "If it's our only option, then yes. But only, if there's nothing else to do." That, Charm was able to understand. What Rocky said next however, not so much. "I almost got something out of dad about some vital information. He said 'the first' something, when talking about a specific part he didn't want you to see. But he found your trail before he finished."

Charm's wounds were healing up, allowing him to pick up his gun and put it away. He didn't see a need to kill Rocky or Zuma, since they weren't trying to stop him. "Not much, but something is better than nothing. Thank you Rocky."

"Hey; I know I didn't do much, but you could at least acknowledge me." Zuma complained, leaving Charm to give him a deadpan look before he backed up his claim. "I came to suppowt Wocky. That should be enough."

Charm stood up after that and prepare his leave back to his base. As he turned around, he looked in the direction of his base and got ready to head off. "You might've already picked up on this, but this won't be the last time you see me." Charm dashed off, leaving Rocky and Zuma to watch as he made his way back to his base. Rocky clenched his paw over his chest, showing that he still wanted to help Charm despite everything. Zuma wrapped his arm around him for comfort, leading to Rocky smiling to him as they headed back to Wolfland.

Back in Rocky and Zuma's room, Zuma showed curiosity towards the fact that Rocky gave Charm the information he heard Slash unintentionally reveal. After realizing that it was to hopefully help Charm find out anything the two of them couldn't, he asked about it. "Do you think Chawm could find what might've tuwned him evil in that jouwnal?"

Rocky was in deep thought about this, hoping that he made the right call. He didn't want all of his efforts to be in vain. "I have to at least hope Zuma. And he said he was using the knowledge to prepare his army for demons. Maybe he won't try to find a way to control them."

"That's a pwetty big maybe for Chawm." Zuma reminded Rocky, knowing that they put a lot on the line with that move. "I know you wanna help him, but Slash might've been weferring to what's luwing the demons to Wolfland or something."

"If dad wanted to keep his status hidden, then he'd put that reason in something more secretive than even a journal." Rocky reminded Zuma, knowing that his dad wasn't an idiot. "He might have it in a document he put somewhere more secret than his office. Or maybe he didn't even write it down. Why would he even wanna write down whether or not he was responsible for the demon attacks? If he knows, then he knows. And writing it down is the best way for him to get exposed if he's to blame."

Zuma saw Rocky's point, hoping that he was right about his prediction there. "Yeah, that's twue. I just hope Chawm doesn't use the demons on us is all."

"If he wanted to do that, he would've looked for however they were controlled a long time ago." Rocky pointed out, looking at Rubble once he started realizing what Zuma was telling him. Even though Rubble was snoring with his butt pointed up in the air, Rocky still thought about protecting him if Charm did use the demons against them. "Although, if he DOES use them against us... we'll need to prepare extra hard for his next attack."

Zuma was glad Rocky was seeing his point, smiling as he assured him that they would be ready for that. "Like I said; I know you wanna help Chawm. Just pwomise me you'll be more caweful next time."

Rocky hugged Zuma lovingly, allowing Zuma to wrap his arms around him as well as he made that promise. "I promise." The two canines tails wagged in response to their affection before they lied down next to each other to get back to bed.

Charm made the final steps to his base, arriving at the front door and bursting through before making his way to the staircase. After he got to the top of said staircase, Trickery was shown to be walking down the hallway as he showed concern over Charm's return. "You're back my lord! I'm sorry you couldn't get the journal from Slash."

"This won't be my only attempt Trickery." Charm assured Trickery, who did his best to hide his worry. If only he knew Charm had figured out his goal by now. "Apologies for the change of plans by the way. I realized that a nighttime infiltration would've increased my chances of getting the journal. Next time, I should bring something to knock my father out with."

Charm then walked onward with Trickery walking with him to his room. Once they got there, he happily wished Charm goodnight. "You'll get that journal yet Charm. I can feel it. Have a good night sleep!"

"You as well Trickery." Charm responded happily, and then he entered his room and closed the door. After locking it, he went over to his bed and looked underneath it. He reached under and pulled out Slash's journal, much to his delight. Good thing he had a rule against anyone going into his room while he wasn't there. Charm then yawned however, not having the energy to do any research tonight. "Oh wow. You get beaten to near death by your father, and the next thing you know, you don't even have the energy for a bedtime story."

Charm put the diary back under his bed, making sure to keep any light from getting under there in case someone came in to wake him up again. "Oh well. I'll have plenty of time tomorrow morning." He then hopped into his bed and pulled up his blanket, giving a devious grin in regards to what he was going to learn. "Father. Trickery. Prepare to go down in flames." Charm put his covers over him to get a good night's rest before he looked over the journal.

As the next morning dawned, Charm awoke to the sound of Break and Pound knocking on his door rather loudly. Break then spoke up, having finally memorized that Charm doesn't like titles. "Charm! Are you okay in there!?"

Charm got up and rolled over to the edge before hopping off of his bed and assuring the two he was good. "Of course I'm alright you numbskull! I'd kill anyone who tried to attack me in my sleep!" Break and Pound were shown to be unaffected by the insult as Charm gave them an order. "Go tell the chef to make my breakfast; I don't care what you bring me."

Break and Pound did as requested, giving Charm enough time to move the light blockage under his bed and pull out the journal. He then sat down on his bed as he remembered what Rocky told him last night. "The first something." Charm still couldn't piece together why Rocky helping him last night made him feel that way. It touched on a feeling he wasn't familiar with, and didn't know how to express. He shook it off again however, and got back to business. "Perhaps father meant the first page? Or the first chapter. Or the first paragraph."

Charm went to the first page, and it was in fact, the first of everything he just listed off. When he read the title, 'How I Molded My Son', he couldn't believe how dumb Slash sounded. "What an idiot! I mean, I get wanting to write your memories down, but come on!" Charm's laughter deceased however, when he started reading the first sentence. "It all started on the day my second son, Charm Ralston, was born." Charm couldn't believe what he just read. "He started that early!?"

Charm continued to read the first paragraph, knowing that he had to find more. "Like Rocky, he wasn't born like me, and I had to act on it. I couldn't have my second chance at the perfect soldier born of my blood wasted like the first. Thankfully, I had my closest ally Trickery on my side, along with the King of Demons himself. Together, the three of us began to mold Charm into the perfect warrior for me to add to my army. First, we had to create an artificial sadistic side that could debilitate his natural born nature by-"

Charm stopped in horror at the end of the first paragraph. He was so shocked by what he learned about that he couldn't even finish the last sentence. He couldn't even bring himself to state what Slash did that created this 'artificial' sadistic side of his. This whole time, his cold hearted and ruthless side, which he'd embraced for seven years... was created from a conducted act of callousness by his own father? It wasn't even his own? His father was controlling his entire identity this whole time!?

"That... bast-"

To be continued.

Ominous music played as Charm started speaking in regards to what was going to happen with specific moments from the next chapter being shown. "He made me this way?
