Disclaimer: Here we go with the first chapter directly focused on Skye in season four. I hope her plot in this, as well as the sub plot, do a good job at doing both Mer-Pup characters justice.
Also, I don't own Paw Patrol.
Paw Patrol X
Land and Sea arc Episode four: A Mer-Pup In Need
A week after the Paw Patrol visited PupLantis, the Paw Patrol all jumped out of the elevator in their uniforms... except for Skye, who simply walked forward while looking at her phone. Chase did his usual call out after everyone jumped into their usual positions. "Paw Patrol, ready for action Ryder sir!" Chase saw Skye still looking at her phone and got worried, since he knew what it was about. "Baby?"
Ryder then noticed that Skye was distracted, showing concern as the other pups started to notice as well. "Are you okay Skye?"
Skye flinched and saw that everyone was worried about her. Not wanting to delay the call, she put her Pup-Phone away and got to focusing. "Sorry Ryder. Life stuff. I'm here now."
"Let me know if you want to talk." Ryder responded, just in case it was something big. He then got to showing the pups what their mission entailed. "Thanks for hurrying over here pups. There's a bat currently taking a nap in the Adventure bay bell. He could be lost,"
F.M. and the others were concerned for the bat with F.M. expressing how bad of a sleeping place he picked. "That bell could make the bat go deaf if Mayor Goodway has to ring it!"
Marshall, undoubtedly, had something to say about that statement. "I think Mayor Goodway would wait for it to move F.M.. But you're right. It would definitely be in for a bellish wake up call."
"Marshall!"
The rest of the pups laughed alongside Marshall, along with Ryder, who then stated who he would need for the mission. "Marshall. I need you to climb up to the bell with a pet carrier. And since bats are nocturnal, try to avoid waking him up if you can."
"I'm fired up!" Marshall then realized he should practice lowering his volume and did so with a whisper. "Fired up."
The rest of the pups giggled as Everest praised his efforts. "Great job Mar Mar. Success or fail, you get an A for effort."
Marshall smiled from Everest's praise before Ryder called for the second pup he needed. "Chase. I need you ready with your net, just in case the bat wakes up and flies off."
"Chase is on the case!" Chase then made the same realization and lowered his voice as well. "On the case."
The pups all giggled again with Claw taking a jab at Chase regarding being quiet. "Something tells me you won't have much choice when it comes to keeping that bat asleep."
"At least I won't throw a fit after waking it up." Chase replied slyly, jabbing right at Claw's temper for that one.
And with that, Ryder announced that the mission was ago. "Alright! Paw Patrol, is on a roll!" Ryder ran for the fire pole and slid down it, just as Marshall ran for the slide. After he slipped and slid down on his back, Chase assured Skye that he'd help her after he got back. "I'll be back as soon as the bat is safe Skye."
Chase kissed Skye's cheek before following after Marshall with a proud big dog bark. Once he slid down, F.M. thought of a way to help Skye with whatever was bothering her and looked to Snow to see if she was okay with it. "Any chance you're up for inviting Skye to train with us?"
"I'm always down for more training partners." Snow assured F.M., being happy to spend some time with her girlfriend, and best friend.
Rocky and Zuma also had plans with Zuma texting frantically as Rocky saw what time it was. He nudged Zuma, causing him to stop texting as he reminded him of what they had to do. "Katie should be finished with her evaluation of Moby by now. You ready to head on over?"
"Totally." Zuma answered happily, being interested in what Katie had to say about Moby as a result of this evaluation.
After Chase and Marshall set off on their mission, Rocky, Zuma, and Rubble were waiting at the hospital as Zuma was looking at his phone. Rocky saw how worried Zuma was and smiled lovingly when putting a paw on his shoulder. "Gabe and Celeste are giving Charm every tip he needs Zuma. I'm sure he'll know what to do by your first call."
"I'm sure he will. But it's still his fiwst time looking after a baby on his own." Zuma reminded Rocky, hoping Charm's lack of experience wouldn't get Melody hurt.
Rubble seemed confused about one detail and looked to Rocky to get some confirmation. "Isn't that why we sent him super early in the morning?"
Rocky nodded his head yes in response, just as Katie left the examination room with Moby, who looked rather concerned. Rocky, Zuma, and Rubble got worried when they saw with Rocky being the first to ask about it. "Katie. Is Moby okay?"
"He's fine. He's just trying to take in what I just told him." Katie assured Rocky, kneeling down to Moby and petting him for comfort. "We discovered that Moby has Autism during the examination. I take it he didn't hear anything about being Neurodivergent in PupLantis?"
"That would make total sense considewing how our visit there went." Zuma said, having an idea on why Moby was so concerned.
Rocky felt he could help Moby, being Autistic himself. So he was the first to walk up to him, giving him some smiling words of comfort. "Ya know Moby, I have Autism too." Moby looked at Rocky in surprise as the half wolf continued. "I was scared at first too. But thanks to my friends, I learned that having a disability isn't something to be ashamed of."
Moby wanted to see where Rocky was coming from, at least so he could understand his disability. "Will you help me learn that too?"
"Of course!" Rocky exclaimed happily, being more than excited to help Moby out. "I figured something like this was the case, since we share some of the same quirks. And I think I know just how to start helping you work with them." Rubble and Zuma went over to Moby and offered their support as well. The supportive smiles Moby saw from them, as well as Rocky's offer to help, made him feel much more at home here than he ever did in PupLantis. As if Charm convincing the Paw Patrol, and even Coral, to help him get out of there wasn't proof enough.
Meanwhile, F.M. was at the beach with Snow and Skye 100 meters away from her, the former of whom noticed Skye still looking at her phone anxiously as F.M. stood across from them. Snow noticed this and nudged her, allowing her to get back on track and get the timer set up. Snow held up a pen and paper as Skye called over to F.M.. "You ready F.M.!?"
"I was born ready!" F.M. declared, being as hyped as could be to see just how strong she'd gotten since joining the team.
Snow and Skye looked at each other and nodded, allowing Skye to start the countdown. "Okay! Three... two... one... go!" F.M. ran as fast as she could as soon as the timer started and amazed both of them with her speed. Once she ran past them, Skye stopped the timer, and she was stunned by the results. "Five and a half seconds!?"
F.M. overheard Skye mention her time and ran over to her and Snow, giving both of them a big hug after Snow wrote her time down. "I actually made a hundred meters that fast!? I thought I'd be at least a second longer!"
Snow was more than ready to give F.M. glowing praise. "Congrats F.M.! That intense training you started doing after we came back from Wolfland has really paid off!" F.M. laughed happily before she and Snow noticed Skye looking at her messages with a concerned look on her face. Knowing that F.M. was as worried as her, Snow went right in to see if Skye was okay. "Skye? You okay?"
Skye sighed, unable to think of a good excuse for F.M. and Snow. Not that she'd want to lie to them anyway. "Not really. It's been a week since we got back from PupLantis, and Coral hasn't contacted me once."
F.M. got a look at her text messages, seeing that she sent her at least five in this past hour. No responses from Coral in any of them. Not wanting her to go overboard, she handed her phone back and advised her on a texting limit. "Maybe try sending her less texts every hour for when she finally sees them." Skye took note of that with F.M. wanting to know what was keeping Coal waiting. "Still, I wonder why Coral hasn't texted back yet. She doesn't seem like the type who would leave someone else hanging."
"Maybe she's still shocked about having Skye back in her life?" Snow suggested, knowing that Skye meeting Coral again was big for both of them.
F.M. tried to think of a way to help Skye, and after doing so for a few seconds, she came up with what felt like the perfect solution. "Why don't we go back to PupLantis and find out for ourselves?"
Snow and Skye weren't very fond of that idea; and Skye made it clear what that was. "I appreciate you wanting to help F.M., but I couldn't ask you to go back there. Not after the way Eveline and the other mean Mer-Pups treated you."
"I'm with Skye. We shouldn't risk your comfortability for this." Snow chimed in, not wanting Eveline anywhere near F.M.. "Wouldn't it make more sense to wait for Chase to come back?"
"It could take forever for them to get that bat home." F.M. pointed out, and then she showed that she wasn't going to let Eveline stop her. "Besides; if Coral hasn't contacted Skye once in this past week, something has to be up. Maybe something dangerous we don't know about. If she's in trouble, then we have to help her!"
Snow and Skye saw F.M.'s points, but Skye saw another issue with them going to PupLantis. After sighing, she brought this to F.M.'s attention. "Even if we DO go, Zuma has plans too so we can't use his hovercraft. How are we supposed to get to PupLantis quickly without it?"
"Who said we couldn't get outside help?" F.M. asked as she pointed to the sea with a confident smile. Snow and Skye looked to see Sid and Arrby's ship out there by the dock.
Snow and Skye saw that F.M. wasn't giving up on this with Snow looking to Skye with a hopeful smile. "We're turning back if F.M. gets too uncomfortable. Okay?"
"That was always fine by me!" Skye assured Snow, looking more hopeful herself as she looked at her texts. She hoped Coral was okay, and that she's just been super busy or something.
Back at Katie's place, Rocky was showing Moby a modeling kit he could try using as a means of showing him one strength those with Autism have. It was in the theme of a boat, different from Sid and Arrby's ship, which had Moby's attention as Rocky explained it. "One perk we have is great attention to detail, especially when it comes to stuff that relates to what we're most interested in. You said you're interested in boats, right? So I thought this would be perfect for you."
Moby opened up the box and dumped all of the pieces onto his desk. He made sure everything was laid out accordingly so he knew where to start. After doing that, he started getting to work, while also thanking Rocky for the gift. "Thank you Rocky. I'd like some space to craft this if you don't mind."
Rocky did as Moby instructed, walking over to Rubble and Zuma, who were playing some kind of battleship game, which Rubble questioned at first. "Why are we playing board games again? F.M. loaned me her PP in case I got bored."
"Moby doesn't like loud noises, so we're twying to make the atmosphewe calm and welaxing for him." Zuma explained, making his move and getting close to Rubble's ship.
Rubble seemed a bit disappointed by that due to one thing he wouldn't get to do. "So I won't get to test that new prank you taught me on Moby?"
"We wouldn't have let you do that this early anyway." Rocky informed Rubble, who made his next move as Moby was then shown still working on his modeling kit. It was taking him a bit of time to adapt to his new life, but so far, he was liking it a lot more than PupLantis. His new allies seemed to understand and accept his traits rather than dismiss them. Heck; he even got a gift from Rocky. PupLantis never did that for him.
Zuma looked at his phone and saw what time it was, making a call and putting the game on hold for now. "I'll be back Wubble." Zuma kissed Rocky's cheek before calling Charm, seeming a bit hopeful as he spoke. "Hey Chawm. Are you and Melody doing okay?" Rocky noticed Zuma rubbing his arm nervously. It was clear that he was worried about Melody's safety, despite trusting Charm with this responsibility.
F.M., Snow, and Skye were right above where they arrived in PupLantis last time as F.M. started to feel her nerves from Eveline's mistreatment coming back. Snow noticed instantly and took her paw to help her calm down, making the Dalmatian smile when looking at her. F.M. then looked to Skye to see if she got anything from Coral. "Anything yet?"
"No, nothing yet." Skye answered, getting more worried for Coral than she was before. "Do you think Eveline's doing something to her?"
"I sure hope not." F.M. responded, knowing that Eveline wasn't the type to go soft just by their first experience. "Our first encounter alone showed that she wouldn't hold back. God knows I wouldn't wanna be on the other end of her tongue again."
Arrby, who was standing there with Sid, hopped up to the rail and looked at F.M. concernedly after she said that. "Why risk it by going back to PupLantis? Wouldn't it make more sense to have Claw come instead, since he also got along well with Coral?"
F.M. shook her head in disappointment at her failure to think of that, but knew she couldn't let that distract her. "Maybe. But he has plans with Sweetie and Caiohme, and I could never bring myself to make him cancel those."
"Just remember to let me know if things get too heated for you down there." Snow requested, valuing F.M.'s well being over anything else in that moment; as much as she cared about Skye. "I'll be sure to shield you from any harassment down there, but I can only do so much."
Skye giggled a bit upon jumping onto the rail with a backflip as she responded to that. "Come on Snow. Did you really think I was gonna leave that to you?"
Snow had to admit that was silly after thinking about it. "I guess that was kind of dumb to think. You'd obviously want to protect your friend."
"That's right. And if we have to leave early, then I'm fine with waiting until another day." Skye assured F.M. and Snow, showing a clear desire to do this without either of them being hurt. "Still. Let's get this done as fast as we can."
After Skye jumped in, Sid informed F.M. and Snow of their intentions. "We'll be here for when you get back."
"Thanks Sid. You too Arrby." F.M. replied, and Arrby gave a dutiful howl as she and Snow hopped up onto the rail. They held paws and gave each other loving smiles before jumping back into the water and turning into Mer-Pups.
Upon inspecting their tails, Skye could confirm that what Coral told her was true. "Talk about an easy transformation."
"Here's hoping this doesn't activate automatically next time we're at the pool." Snow responded, diving down with F.M. and Skye to find Coral. Thankfully, they all remembered the way to PupLantis from their last visit.
Moby was still designing his model ship, currently was painting the boat ground to get them down to the exact color. He was quite satisfied with the progress he'd made so far, and he couldn't wait to show Rocky. "Rocky! Come look!" Rocky heard Moby and went over to him with Zuma and Rubble joining him. Moby didn't mind the extra company, and happily showed them what he'd done. "This side of the boat is almost fully painted. After I get the other side done, I can start adding the parts that make the sails."
"Cool!" Rubble exclaimed, reaching to grab the boat and get a closer look. Moby didn't take kindly to that.
Moby smacked Rubble's paw to keep it away, much to his surprise as Moby made his demand clear. "Don't touch it!" Moby didn't hit Rubble very hard, but he was still shocked as the Portuguese Water Dog inspected his boat to make sure it wasn't damaged. "The paint's still wet!"
Rocky quickly went to Rubble's aid for comfort while also reminding Moby that Rubble was still young. "As a reminder Moby, Rubble's only five."
Moby continued painting his model ship as he showed little concern regarding Rubble's age. "And?"
"And, he's not as experienced with life as we are." Rocky informed Moby, who was starting to get what Rocky was saying as he focused on his ship. "He's also never seen a model before, so he likely didn't know it was still wet."
Moby started to wonder if he reacted the right way. The others could tell, despite him still focusing on his ship, so Zuma chimed in to help him. "Hey dude. At least now you know for next time."
"Yeah. I guess." Moby replied, trying to hide his regret for snapping at Rubble.
Rocky could tell Moby was regretful however, and wanted to help ease his mind. "Just try to put yourself in his position next time, okay?" Moby wasn't sure how to respond to that, since he didn't have a lot of experience with empathy. Rocky had another idea that he felt would help ease Moby's mind. "Maybe he can take a look at it when you're done?"
Moby saw that Rocky was trying to help him avoid feeling down about this and showed appreciation by responding. "I guess that would be okay." Rubble was glad to hear that, and also saw that there would be a better time for him to see the model ship up close.
F.M., Snow, and Skye were now in PupLantis as F.M. reminded Snow and Skye about the plan. "Alright girls. Coral could be anywhere in PupLantis thanks to her reputation. We might have to pinpoint an exact spot we'd expect her to be in." Skye had an idea on where Coral might be, and she was happy to share it after F.M. looked to her. "Skye. Is there anywhere Coral likes hanging when she DOES have free time? I know it's rare, but it's a shot worth taking."
"Yeah! There's this really tasty diner she likes a lot." F.M. was more than happy to try out the delicacies for PupLantis. "Chase and I ate there with her when I gave her my number."
"Perfect! Then that'll be our first stop." F.M. declared, swimming off with Snow and Skye to find the diner. On the way there, F.M. faced the same hateful glares from some of the Mer-Pups. One mother even stopped her kid, who looked curious, from seeing her and went inside with him. At least this time, F.M. was more prepared for those risks.
Snow and Skye noticed the mistreatment however, and Snow had some choice words about the mother. "That mom is definitely gonna win a lot of 'Mother of the Year' awards."
F.M. laughed at Snow's sarcastic quip as she arrived at the diner with her and Skye. "This is the place." The three pups started looking around with Skye going in one direction, and F.M. and Snow going in the other. F.M. and Snow didn't see Coral, but they DID see the food. Snow gave F.M. a sly grin, knowing she'd want to try the food, and F.M. nodded her head yes in response. So much for an in and out mission. As for Skye, she managed to find Coral sitting at the same table as last time. She was relieved and worried at the same time. "I thought you'd be here."
"Skye!" Coral was happy to see Skye, and then expressed how bad she felt for ignoring her after they hugged. "I'm sorry I haven't responded. I make my job as Eveline's right hand look a lot easier than it looks."
"You mentioned you were busy a lot. I get it." Skye assured Coral, sitting across from her after she made the gesture. "I just came down here because I wanted to see if you were okay."
Coral looked over Skye's shoulder and saw F.M. and Snow at the bar, concerning her as the timid waitress looked at the former. She seemed somewhat calm when looking at Snow, but when looking at F.M., she froze as if she didn't know what to say. Coral couldn't help but question Skye's logic in bringing her. "You brought F.M. with you?"
Seeing Coral's concerned look made Skye feel bad about F.M. coming. She knew she couldn't leave Coral without a reason though. "It was her idea to come when we did. We'll be leaving early if things get out of hand."
Coral was skeptical about this, and rightfully so, but she still kept her composure in check. "Okay. If you say so. Let's just, talk, for now." Skye smiled upon that suggestion and got right to it when Coral started the conversation. "So do you still try to mimic bird calls?"
"Sometimes, yeah. Not as much as I used to, but it's still fun." Skye answered, glad that her reuniting with Coral wasn't a one time thing.
Back in Adventure Bay, Moby was walking down the hallway with a soda, just as he overheard Rocky and Zuma talking about something in his room. "And then... Melody was on the floor, dead." Moby peeked in through the door, seeing Rocky trying to comfort Zuma as he expressed how the Wolfland and Foxcadia incident affected him. It was also clear he was calming down from a panic attack. "That stupid nightmawe stawted coming up ever since I tuwned back into my twue self."
Rocky knew that incident affected everyone in one way or another. He hoped he didn't add to that with his idea. "Did me suggesting that Charm babysit Melody make that worse?"
"No no no, like I said; I fowgive Chawm, and I know he wouldn't twy to huwt her." Zuma assured Rocky, not wanting him to think he was to blame for this. "It's just... hawd to not get anxious. This is Chawm's fiwst time looking after a baby, and a pawt of me wishes I was there helping him." Rocky held Zuma's left paw while letting him talk about what was on his mind. "Melody almost lost her bwother before she even tuwned two." Zuma almost started crying over the thought of losing his sister. "Just the thought of her being away fwom her family just... scawes me."
Zuma wrapped his arms around Rocky after he wrapped his arm around him for a hug. This allowed Zuma to let it all out with Moby finding himself touched by the gesture. "Melody is in good paws Zuma. Inexperienced paws, but still good paws."
"The inexpewience pawt is what bothers me the most." Zuma admitted, knowing that it was stupid, but unable to help how he felt. "What if Chawm dwops her or something?"
Rocky couldn't help laughing a bit, but quickly corrected himself while giving Zuma a supportive smile. "I don't think that'll be an issue. Charm is way too careful for something like that."
Zuma laughed a bit at how silly he was being, having to admit that Rocky was right about that. "Yeah. I guess you're wight."
Moby smiled when Zuma smiled up at Rocky, and he continued to listen as Rocky continued comforting Zuma. "I know being a demon was scary. And that it gave you a lot of really scary thoughts. But we're gonna do everything we can to make sure that nothing you saw in that state will happen." Zuma started feeling much better thanks to Rocky's comfort, which Rocky noticed as he then finished what he had to say. "And now that you're back, you can focus as much energy as you can on being the best big brother for Melody that you can."
Just then, Zuma got a call from Charm, surprising him when he looked at the phone. It also made him laugh a bit before he answered. "Pewfect timing." Zuma answered the call to see what Charm needed. "Hey Chawm. Evewything okay?"
Charm was shown on the other end as he tried to put a clean diaper on Melody. "Melody didn't die yet if that's what you mean." Charm's answer startled Charm, despite it coming more from his own concerns about getting this right. Thankfully, what Charm said next showed what he meant. "I could use a tutorial though. I forgot to ask Celeste how you're supposed to put these things onto kids."
Zuma covered the phone as he started laughing at the scenario, giving a brief notice to Rocky to fill him in. "Fiwst time changing Melody." Moby was still smiling as he leaned against the wall and continued listening in. As he drank his soda, Zuma started to help Charm. "Okay. This goes without saying, but fiwst, put the diaper under Melody."
Skye and Coral were still talking, and F.M. swam over to them and popped up, surprising both of them as she then asked about the reason they came here. "Sooooo? Did you girls figure out a good time to hang out yet?"
Skye laughed a bit after remembering that bit and got to asking Coral about that. "Not yet. Is there a time that works for you Coral?"
Coral thought for a moment, despite being worried about the deeper context. She didn't want to let Eveline down, but should she really go through with this plan? After snapping out of it, she gave Skye a set date they could hang out on, smiling to hide her conflicted feelings. "Does two weeks from now work?"
"That would be perfect!" Skye exclaimed, being more excited than ever to finally catch up with Coral. "Maybe I can show you around Adventure Bay too."
F.M. got excited after she heard that and put her paws on Coral to make an offer herself. "And, if you want, I can come too. I'm always excited to get to know those who are close with my friends."
"The more the merrier." Coral said in acceptance of F.M.'s offer. "As long as it doesn't get in the way of your Paw Patrol duties."
F.M. gave a thumbs up to Coral, showing that everything would be okay as Skye spoke to F.M.. "Thanks for reminding me of that F.M.. Does that mean you're ready to leave?"
"Yeah, but not for the reasons you would think." F.M. answered, pointing over to where Snow was.
Snow was currently talking to a buff looking Mer-Pup; not like the one from last week. He looked rather mean as he cracked his knuckles. "Eveline doesn't take kindly to those who enable gender confused dogs like-"
Snow punched the Mer-Pup and knocked his out, making F.M., Skye, and Coral concerned as Skye looked to Coral with a sheepish grin. "I think for my friends' sakes, we should leave now. We still on for two weeks?"
"Of course! I'd never cancel plans over a bar fight." Coral assured Skye, hugging her as F.M. went over to Snow to tell her that they were leaving. Coral then gained a remorseful expression, still being trapped in between her devotion to Eveline, and her desire to be close to Skye again. She just couldn't bring herself to risk letting either one of them down. After remembering one specific question, she pulled Skye away and asked it. "Before you go Skye, I was hoping you could tell me something about Charm."
Skye didn't know why Coral was asking her about that, but she felt it wouldn't hurt to answer. "I guess. What is it that you wanted to know?"
Coral breathed in through her nose and out from her mouth before asking this question. "What does Charm want now, more than anything else?"
Moby was working on his model ship again, and he couldn't help but be happy with the progress he was making. He managed to get finished with the second side of the ship thanks to the time he had, and it was now all painted in the way he wanted it. Rocky went over to where he was with Rubble and Zuma and praised the work he made. "That ship is coming together really well Moby. Great work."
"Hehe. Thanks." Moby then noticed Rubble and put his brush down before addressing what happened earlier. He struggled a little to say this, since he wasn't used to doing what he was doing. "Hey Rubble? Um, since you have to leave soon, I'm... I'm sorry I snapped at you earlier."
"It's fine. I was already over it." Rubble assured Moby, holding no hard feelings over that incident.
Rocky could tell that Moby felt much more comfortable than he did that morning. Perhaps he was adjusting to his new knowledge as well as it was hoped. "So Moby. How did your first day of knowing you're Autistic go?"
"It was a lot better than I expected." Moby admitted, glad that he had Rocky and Zuma there to help him. Even if they didn't know one of the things that helped him. "Just wait until I tell Charm about this. Zuma, do you know when he'll be done watching your sister?"
"No, but I can facetime him for you if you want." Zuma requested, showing Moby what that was on his Pup-Phone. "I just gotta pwess the camewa here and he'll come on."
Rubble's stomach growled as soon as Zuma offered that. This made him chuckle a bit before he made a suggestion. "Maybe we can get some lunch first? I'm starving." Rocky and Zuma laughed a bit at that, and Moby simply smiled, despite not quite getting why it was funny.
F.M., Snow, and Skye made it back to land with F.M. thanking Sid and Arrby for the help alongside the other girls. "Thanks for the help guys! See you again soon!"
"Bye F.M.! Bye Ms. sarcastic Husky who loves art! Bye Ms. quirky Cockapoo who loves flying!" Arrby said, revealing the possible tick caused nicknames he came up with for Snow and Skye as Sid waved with them. The girls couldn't help laughing at the nicknames
Once F.M., Snow, and Skye started heading home for lunch, upon a calling of F.M.'s firetruck of course, F.M. got Snow's attention to address one thing on her mind. "Hey Snowflake?" Snow looked at F.M. and gave her full attention to her. "I'm sorry if I made you feel obligated to protect me in PupLantis. I knew it was a risk for me with how Eveline runs the place."
Snow snickered a bit before pointing out what she felt was an obvious fact. "F.M., we're dating now. We probably feel the need to protect each other all the time now."
F.M. laughed a bit after realizing that Snow was right. "That's true. I just know you were worried about this from the start."
"Just be sure to consider your own comfortability alongside everyone else's. Okay?" F.M. nodded in response, and she and Snow kissed before they got into F.M.'s truck with Skye. As they did, Snow thought of something and looked back at Skye after she hopped into the backseat. "Oh Skye! Maybe you can take Coral to Jake's Mountain too. Claw liked it up there when he went with me and Everest. Maybe she will too."
"Great idea Snow! I bet she'll love seeing what snow looks like again." Skye replied, and then she giggled at how that came out. "You'd better come with us for that." Snow gave a thumbs up and wink, showing that she'd be all for it.
Skye got something on her phone from Chase and started laughing after she finished reading it. "Okay. You two have to see this!" Skye leaned on the front seat and showed F.M. and Snow a selfie Chase took with Marshall and Ryder in front of the cave the bat they rescued lived in. The text surrounding it read 'Just relieved this cave of all odors. I owe Marshall twenty bucks.'. F.M. and Snow couldn't help laughing with Skye upon reading that. It made Skye hope that Coral could have fun with playful jabs like that. "Yeah. I think Coral will like it up here."
"Especially if she's looking for fun and friends to make her day!" F.M. added, and then she started the engine and drove off. "Oh; and we're having chicken quesadillas for lunch today. As always, extra cheese!" Snow and Skye loved the sound of that. Especially since F.M. was making it.
Coral was now in Eveline's throne room, where Eveline was repeating what Coral said Skye told her. "His demon blood, you say? He really wants to rid himself of his greatest asset?"
"I-it seems so Queen Eveline." Coral confirmed nervously, not really understanding what that was all about. "Skye didn't say how she got it, but it sounded like something we could use, with or without a reason."
Eveline was quite pleased with this information, and she was revealed to be writing something down just as she finished it. "It certainly is." Eveline handed Coral a piece of waterproof paper, allowing her to memorize it as she gave her a task. "Once you get the opportunity, give this paper to Charm. I spent a week testing everything for my desired recipe."
Coral was surprised by what she was reading, and while it wasn't shown, it was clear that it wasn't something good. "But Eveline, this could-"
"Don't forget Coral. You're on thin ice after you helped Moby escape." Eveline interrupted coldly, making Coral gulp before Eveline placed her paw on the right side of her face while giving a caring smile. "Coral. My little starfish." Coral seemed to calm down a bit from Eveline's praise, despite not realizing how false it all was. "You know I brought you here because I care. And you lost so much before I met you." Coral looked up at Eveline, who got back to discussing the mission. "It was two weeks, correct?"
Coral hesitated to answer at first, despite knowing what would happen if she didn't. She was desperate for Eveline's praise, but she absolutely hated the idea of using Skye like this. She saw Eveline's cold glare, which scared her enough to make her answer. "Y-y-yes! T-two weeks!"
"Wonderful." Eveline responded, being delighted to know that her plan would be progressing very soon. "Don't fret Coral. You can still enjoy the day with Skye." Eveline put her paws behind her back as she reminded Coral of her mission. "Just remember to give that to Charm as soon as you can."
Coral was reluctant, but felt she couldn't object to what Eveline wanted her to do, so she accepted after sighing. "Yes Queen Eveline." Eveline looked disappointed when Coral showed how scared she was. The last thing she wanted was her right hand putting her emotions over her duties. "Just please make sure that Skye, and the rest of the Paw Patrol, are okay after all of this. Okay?"
Eveline put a paw on Coral's right shoulder, informing her that she would do as requested. "I promise." However, she then crossed her fingers with the paw that was still behind her back. Whatever Eveline was planning, it was clear that she had Coral wrapped around her finger as it was going down.
To be continued.
Rocky music played as Charm started speaking in regards to what was going to happen with specific moments from the next chapter being shown. "Alright Moby. It looks like we have the day together. What should we do? Oh, don't worry about how some of these people are acting. Great, I know I'll have to tell him about who I was before. But how? Wait; is that a Mer-Pup knight!? Hey! Let go of Moby right now!"
Charm finished the announcement with the words Paw Patrol in all blue with red outlines surrounded with a white border with Flare on the right, and Marshall on the left. "Next time, Confessing to Moby! (Claw and Zuma are shown having fun with Sweetie and Arrby as Zuma plays his guitar and sings) "Maybe he'll take it well? He seems more open to change than most of the other Puplantis residents."
