Miss Take Chapter 14 Cuddles only, a scorpion fanfic

Sorry for the delay in posting this chapter . I have been ill over the past three weeks which has included a short stay in hospital . Should be back to posting every Monday again . Hope the wait was worth it .

Walter was woken up at 5.00am. by the sound of Megan crying . He went to jump out of bed , then felt the weight of Paige resting across his body . He knew then there was no way he would be able to get out of bed without wakening Paige . So he took the decision to wake Paige by gently shaking her , within seconds he heard a sleepy voice .

" Walter is something the matter ? "

Before Walter could answer he heard Paige .

" Megan's crying . " Paige rolled from Walter and climbed out of bed and rushed to Megan's cot . She gently picked her up . " What is the matter , my little girl ? "

Megan was still crying , but had calmed down a little and managed a quick . " Mo, Mo . "
" It would appear your daughter needs a clean diaper . " She told Walter with a smile on her face .

" Well i suppose i should learn to do that , so i can help out . " Walter replied .

" Are you sure , it can sometimes be very unpleasant ? "

Walter looked at Paige . " How could anything from our little girl be unpleasant ? "

Paige smiled at him again . " Do you want to watch me change her diaper ? "

" Of course , i want to be involved with everything that involves our daughter's life . Good , bad .pleasant ,unpleasant . "

Paige gave a little laugh . " Well do not blame me . Here you hold Megan while i get everything ready . " She told Walter as she gently passed Megan to Walter .

He looked at Megan , love in his eyes , Megan's face lit up as she felt his arms around her and uttered . Da, Da . "

Paige returned a couple of minutes later and put a changing mat on the bed , then gently took Megan from Walter .

After about twenty minutes , Megan was again dry and in a clean diaper . Walter had watched intently . " If she needs changing tonight will you let me do it , while you watch of course ? "

" With pleasure she needs a feed now , so if you would like to take your shower and get ready for work . I will feed her while you are in the shower ." Paige replied .

" Of course . " Walter said as he leaned in to kiss Paige , then kiss Megan on the brow . By the time he came out of the bathroom , Paige had fed Megan and put her into her bassenet .

Walter walked over to Paige and pulled her into a gentle hug . " You go have your shower and get ready , i will take Megan into the kitchen with me and start breakfast . "

He gave her a quick kiss , released her and walked over to Megan's bassenet , then left to go to the kitchen . After making sure that Megan's bassenet was safe on the kitchen island , Walter put some bacon on to cook , he broke four eggs into a bowl , to make scrambled eggs a little later .

He had been in the kitchen for about ten minutes when he heard . " Morning dad . "

Walter turned a smile on his face . " Morning Ralph , how come you are up so early ? "

" The smell of bacon , plus i had already been up over a hour , going over ways to get more information on the Squires . "

" We have had a bit of luck on that score . I have already discussed this with your mom . Richard owns the old garage , with all the computer systems still installed . If you are interested , Richard is getting me the keys by Friday and i wondered if you would like to go with me on Saturday and use the garage's computers . "

A big smile broke out on Ralph's face . " You bet i am . But are you sure mom is ok with that . "

" Don't worry i cleared it with her , before i mentioned anything to you . " Walter told him .

" I am starving . How long from before breakfast ? " Ralph asked .

Ten minutes later Paige appeared , checked on Megan , then walked over across to Walter and gave him s kiss .

" Ok , both of you sit down and i will serve up breakfast . " Walter told them with a smile on his face .

Walter made up three plates of bacon and scrambled eggs , which he bought over to them and placed them in front of them and one were he was going to sit , he then fetched a rack of toast over , two cups of coffee and a orange juice for Ralph .

They ate breakfast in relative silence . As they finished Paige turned to Walter , still with some crumbs of toast in the corner of her mouth , Walter reached over and gently wiped them from her mouth .

As she spoke a big smile appeared on her face . " I think i could get used to this . "

She then leaned over and kissed Walter . Ralph was finishing off the the last piece of toast , much to the amusment of both Walter and Paige .

" I am a growing boy . " He told them as he carried on eating .

Paige and Walter cleared the table and put the dirty dishes in the dishwaher .

" Ralph your dad is going to take you to school today , if that is ok with you . " Paige said .

Ralph's face broke into a big smile . " Great ! "

The three of them sat around until 8.00am. talking in general , although Paige was keen to tell them what she had managed to do the previous day with her cataloguing of the items in the house . Today she intended to start on the downstairs , Jackie and her team from the cleaning company had more work to do upstairs , replacing the curtains and making the beds , than downstairs .

At 8.00am. Walter and Ralph left , Ralph sitting in the front seat of the Range Rover , a smile on his face , that seemed to say . Look at me i am ruler of the land . Paige could not help but smile when she waved them off , before going back inside to ensure Megan was ok to travel .

Walter pulled up outside Ralph's college . As Ralph got out the car , a phone rang , for a second Walter was a little confused , it was not his ringtone . He soon realized it was the burner phone , he waved goodbye to Ralph , then removed the phone from his pocket

" Hello . "

" Morning Walter , it is Katherine , have you any news yet ? "

Walter . " Nothing we can use against the target , but plenty about the company . "

Katherine . " Do you think you will be able to get the information we need ?"

Walter . " We have had a piece of good luck , Richard had purchased the garage from the bank , in case i decided to restart Scorpion . Ralph and myself will be going Saturday to use the computer power in the garage , which should increase the chances of getting the evidence by almost 100% . "

Katherine " Are you sure Richard is to be trusted , that he would have no connection with Carlson ? "

Walter . " I am sure , i would trust Paige's life with Richard and you know how much Paige means to me . "

Katherine . " Ok then , i will leave it in your hands . I will call you again on Monday , maybe by then you will have more information for me . "

Walter . " Ok, i will await your call on Monday . Goodbye .

He put the phone away and made his way to the office .

Once in his office , he checked the mail that had arrived today and did a quick check with the rest of his team , before making his way to Richards office at 9.45am.

Paige left the condo at 9.00am. , so she would be at Walter's in time to let Jackie and her team in .

Jackie and her team arrived just before 10.00am. . Jackie advised Paige , they would hang the curtains in the downstair rooms first , then move upstairs . This was fine by Paige as it meant she would be left alone to begin recording the art work and other items downstairs .

Jackie and her team bought all the items into the house and immediatly began to hang the curtains in the downstair rooms . Paige had decided to stay in the kitchen with Megan until they had finished . She was enjoying a second cup of coffee , when Jackie came into the kitchen .

" Hello Jackie , everything ok ? " Paige said with a smile on her face .

" Everything is fine , in fact all the curtains downstairs are all back in the correct place . Would you like to come and check ? " Jackie replied .

" Sure lead the way . " Paige said as she picked up Megan , in her bassenet and began to follow Jackie .

Ten minutes later she was saying thank you to Jackie , before she went to join her team upstairs . Paige left Megan in her bassenet , who by now again was asleep , in the main living area . She then quickly rushed to the kitchen to pick up a small bag which contained her pads , pens and pencils , she was back a couple of minutes later , Megan still asleep with a contented smile on her face .

Paige smiled at her daughter and whispered to her . " You do not realize just how much you are loved and it is because of you Mommy and Daddy have managed to get back together again . You could never have a better daddy than Walter , to be in your life . "

Still smiling she decided she would first begin by checking out the art work that adorned the walls . First she photographed everyone of the pictures on her phone . She then made a rough sketch of the first one on her pad , then began examining the picture . First to make sure it was an original painting and not a print .

Using just the basic information of the pictures , artist name , if available , water colour or oil , original or print , it took her over a hour to gather and record the information she required on all the pictures in the room . As she was entering the details of the last picture she heard a tap on the door .

" Excuse me Paige , but we have finished upstairs . Would you like to come and check before we leave ? " Jackie asked a smile on her face .

Paige immediatly put the pad she had been using down and with a smile on her face . " Of course , let me just check on Megan . "

Paige looked into the bassenet and was greeted by a smile on the face of Megan , who was now awake . Paige reached in and gently removed Megan who issued a " Mo, Mo. " at Paige .

" Do you want to come with me to see what the nice lady as been doing . " Paige kissed Megan on the brow .

" Ok , Jackie lets go . " Paige told Jackie as the two of them began to leave the room . Twenty minutes later Paige had checked the rooms with Jackie . After seeing Jackie and her team out , returned to the living area , as she and Megan entered the living area Megan began muttering , " Da, Da . "

" I am sorry little princess , but daddy is busy today so we will not see him until tonight . I know i miss him to . "

Megan gave a little smile and uttered . " MO, MO. " Which bought a big smile to Paige's face .

After another thirty minutes , Paige took Megan up to Walter's bedroom as it was time to feed her .

At 2.00pm. Paige's phone pinged , checking she saw it was a message from Walter , she quickly opended it .

"Just finished sucessful meeting , will explain tonight . Missed lunch with you and Megan today . Will bring change of clothes again so we can breakfast again tomorrow if you want . "

A smile broke out on Paige's face as she imediatly replied .

" Missed you to , Megan as been asking for you and yes please . " She hit send With in minutes Walter sent a reply .

"Ok see you around 6.30pm , cannot wait to hold both you and Megan in my arms . "

Paige's smile got bigger as she read the reply . Immediatly she sent a reply .

" Cannot wait to feel your arms around me . I am sure Megan feels the same . "

At 3.00pm. she packed all her items away , put Megan in the car , then made her way to collect Ralph .

As it approached 6.30pm. , Paige again to feel a panic coming on , even Megan seemed to be getting excited and kept calling " DA, DA. " It was almost as if she knew Walter was due anytime soon .

Paige had made Mac 'n cheese for the evening meal , with a side salad , timed to be ready for 7.00pm. so she could have a little time with Walter before they would eat . Megan had already been fed , normally she would go to sleep twenty minutes after being fed , but tonight it seemed she knew Walter was due and she seemed determined to stay awake until he arrived .

Just before 6.30pm. she heard the knock on the door , she rushed to the door and threw it open . before Walter could move , she put her arms around his neck and pulled his face towards her and planted a kiss on his lips .

Walter responded , then as he pulled back from the kiss he said . " That was a very pleasant way to be greeted . " As he finished speaking he heard , " DA, Da. "

" It would appear your daughter as realized you are here . " Paige said a smile on her face .

" Then i had better not keep her waiting . " Walter said a smile on his face as he walked through the door with Paige beside him . He put his suit and shirt down on the sofa and made his way to the kitchen . He leaned into the bassenet , the smile on his face getting bigger as he saw Megan . He gently picked Megan up as he did the smile on Megan's face got bigger and she began uttering " DA,DA ,DA . " Which bought a tear to Walter's eyes .

" Why don't you go and sit on the sofa and spend ten minutes with Megan , while i finish cooking the meal . "

Walter just smiled and walked over to the sofa . Paige could hear him talking to Megan in a quiet voice , about what he had been doing all day . Suddenly the peace was shattered as Ralph came out of his room .

" His dinner ready , as dad arrived yet ? " He did not need an answer as he saw and heard Walter . He ran towards him , slowing down when he saw Walter was holding Megan.

" Hi dad , i have been able to find a little more about Baltic Holdings , the wharehouse that is mentioned in the deeds you found , is also the registered head office of Baltic Holdings . I managed to check the Registered Agents of California , were their name came up along with their business address . "

" Great work Ralph , , that could be both helpful and importent . " A proud Walter told him .

Paige smiled as she heard the conversation between them , she turned to the two of them .

" Both of you , go and get cleaned up before dinner , which will be ready in about ten minutes . "

Both of her men said . " Yes mom . "

Once the meal was completed and all the dishes in the dishwasher , Paige took Megan and put her in her cot . Megan was already falling asleep as she did this , Paige stayed with her until she had fallen asleep , then returned to Walter and Ralph .

Both were sitting on the sofa in a deep discussion on what they may be able to do on Saturday , were they will have access to the computer power at the garage . Paige sat down next to Walter , leaned against him and carried on listening to her two geniuses . After about thirty minutes Ralph announced he was going to his room , to get some work ready for school the next day . He said goodnight to Walter and Paige .

Walter repositioned himself on the sofa , so he could put his arm around Paige , as he did Paige rested her head on his shoulder .

Paige asked . " So you said that your meeting went well today . "

Walter kissed the top of her head before answering . " It was very sucessful , the person Richard had arranged to meet , a Mr. David Summers , turned out to be a very knowledgeable person . He actually works for a large agency in the U.K. that acts as an agency to sell products ,to companies in the U.K. and all across Europe , from various companies all over Europe .

Following an earlier conversation with Richard , he and other members of the agency have been checking out possible outlets for the hoist . They have had a lot of interest in at least nine European countries . They think they have initial orders for over 10,000 units , spread between distributors and direct users . Two of the direct users are military , one the Briitish army the other the German army .

If all goes well it will prove very lucrative for Richard's company , as well as us from the royalties . If Richard can complete delivery on the first orders and customers are happy , the agency are interested in marketing the water purifier in a similar way . "

Paige smiled . " That sounds good , what did you think of this Summers ? "

Walter did not say anything at first , he just pulled Paige closer . After a couple of minutes he began speaking . " He seems to know what he his talking about . "

Paige listened then removed her head from his shoulder and turned to Walter and kissed him . " You do not seem that certain . "

" It is not that , i feel a little guilty of how much profit i could be making from something i did not really design . " Walter said a sadness in his voice .

" You do not need to feel guilty , both were developed using Scorpion equipment , premises and time . So the patents belong to Scorpion . If it would make you feel better why not donate some or even all the royalties to a charity , or even the Megan Dodd ward at the hospital . " Suggested Paige .

" That would be a good idea , that is what is so great about you , a simple solution for what i make a big deal about . " Walter told her a big smile on his face .

" Lets go to bed and we can discuss it further , if you would like . " Paige suggested .

Walter got of the sofa pulling Paige with him , both walked towards the bedroom , hand in hand .

" Cuddles only again tonight . " He told Paige , but with a glint in his eyes .

Grykon Yes i think Richard was edging his bet a little , he would probably offered to swap the house he as given Walter for the garage . I agree Toby should have suggested more in the way you have written it , but that would have not been Toby as it would have been to sensible .

Skunkeefunk Not really sure Paige would be to happy giving up the Malibu house for the loft at the garage and you know one of her looks to Walter and he will agree to anything . But who knows .

LouBe96 I think Richard just bought it as an investment a bit like the Malibu hose . Not to sure about Megan being a therapist , but she seems to be turning Walter into a big softie LOL . Also thank you for your kind words in your p.m's .
