Chapter 20
As I stand before the Sudowoodo wall at Paniola Ranch, Milotic by my side, I draw in a deep breath, readying myself. "Milotic, let's do this!"
With a swift activation of the Z-Power Ring, I begin the intricate Water Type Dance, feeling the energy surge within. With a resounding shout, I proclaim, "Witness my true power! Hydro Vortex!"
Milotic summons a massive wave behind it, flooding the vicinity with a surge of water. With fluidity and precision, it begins to move in a circular motion, conjuring a powerful vortex of water. This swirling mass gains momentum, ready to unleash its force upon the Sudowoodo wall, causing them to be sent flying or run away.
"Wow... so that's the Water-type Z Move..." Nate gasps in amazement.
Suddenly, our attention is drawn to the unexpected arrival of Dulse and Soliera. "Wait, those were Pokémon?! I totally thought they were just plants!" Zossie exclaims.
"Dulse and Zossie?" I exclaim, recognizing the two figures as they draw nearer.
"Calm yourself, Zossie," Dulse begins in his composed manner. "Those must have been the Pokémon known as Sudowoodo. A most interesting Pokémon. I wish I could research them further. They must be mimicking plant life in an attempt to avoid their weakness—water."
With a polite Alolan greeting, Dulse and Zossie acknowledge our presence before Dulse continues, expressing his admiration for Alolan Pokémon. "These Alolan Pokémon... They're all so unique."
He then shifts the conversation toward the challenge of battling these distinct creatures. "It's truly fascinating... But battling them is not easy. So I challenge you with one we are accustomed to...Poipole!"
"Poipole?" We exchange confused glances, unsure of the situation. Zossie, however, reacts with a hint of frustration, exclaiming, "I knew it! You can't just challenge people like that! Sorry, Mister Trainer. But do you think a battle would be OK?"
"Sure, I guess," I respond, agreeing to the battle proposal.
"I will warn you now. Poipole cannot be found anywhere in Alola," Dulse explains as he sends out the enigmatic Pokémon, Poipole, onto the battlefield.
Sophocles inquires, "Is that a Pokémon? Poipole, it calls?"
"It is an Ultra Beast, a Pokémon that resides in the ultra dimensions. Poipole is a Poison-type Pokémon," I explain, as we observe Selene's growing interest in the creature.
"A Poison-type Pokémon? It's so cute!" Selene exclaims, confirming our expectations. Considering the type advantage, I decide to proceed with Mudbray for the battle.
"Poipole, use Sludge Bomb!" Dulse commands, as the small Ultra Beast launches a burst of toxic sludge towards Mudbray.
"Mudbray, dodge and counter with Bulldoze!" I instruct, aiming to utilize Mudbray's ground-type move to gain an advantage.
The battle intensifies with each exchange of moves, Dulse strategizing Poipole's attacks while I plan Mudbray's responses. Dulse interjects with guidance, "Poipole, try using Venoshock to exploit its poison strength!"
"Counter with Double Kick, Mudbray!" I counter, hoping to weaken Poipole's offensive momentum.
The clash between the Poison-type Poipole and the Ground-type Mudbray continues, each Pokémon showcasing resilience and determination. The battlefield is alive with energy as we navigate through the intense battle, strategizing our moves with precision and anticipation.
Finally, after a series of well-thought-out tactics, Mudbray manages to overpower Poipole with me using the Z-Move Breakneck Blitz. The Ultra Beast falters and faints, signaling the end of the captivating battle.
"Great job, Mudbray! You did fantastic!" I praise my Pokémon, relieved but also impressed by its performance.
"So I have failed to understand Poipole," Dulse admits, contemplating his defeat. "I must research the reason for my defeat..."
Zossie, intrigued by the Z-Power Ring, expresses admiration, "Your Z-Power Ring... It's so pretty when it shines like that!"
Dulse ponders Zossie's comment, reflecting on ancient tales. "What are you suggesting? That it might be like the beautiful light our ancestors once saw?"
Zossie chuckles lightly, "How should I know? See you around, Trainers!" With a wave, they depart, leaving us with thoughts lingering on their cryptic words and the remnants of an intriguing battle.
As we explore Route 6, Mallow draws our attention to some vibrant pink flowers. "These must be the famous Pink Nectar!" she exclaims, her excitement palpable.
"Pink Nectar?" Lillie inquires, curious about its significance.
Realization dawns upon us as we recall that Oricorio can change forms by consuming specific nectars. With newfound understanding, we decide to offer the Pink Nectar to our Oricorio. As our Oricorio imbibes the nectar, a radiant transformation takes place, and it adopts the Pa'u style, adorned with graceful pink hues and elegant movements.
"Wow, look at Oricorio! It's now in Pa'u style," I remark, marveling at the captivating change in its appearance and demeanor.
Oricorio (Pa'u Style): The Dancing Pokemon: Psychic and Flying Type. This Oricorio has sipped pink nectar. It gets so caught up in its dancing that it sometimes doesn't hear its Trainer's orders.
As we proceed along Route 6, our journey is interrupted by an intense scene. A girl, accompanied by a Mudsdale, stands in a standoff against two Team Skull grunts. As we approach, the Mudsdale notices our presence, and the girl turns towards us urgently.
"You there, Trainer. Can you come to my aid?" she requests. "Over here."
"Of course. What's happening here?" Lillie inquires, her concern evident. However, before receiving an answer, the Team Skull grunts interject with their typical catchphrase. "Yo, yo, yo! Don't go turning your backside on us!" they taunt, their confrontational attitude palpable.
"And YOU! You're those numskull Trainers from Melemele, yo!" The other grunt accuses, recognizing us with a mix of arrogance and disdain.
The girl addresses us with concern. "These scoundrels are Pokémon thieves. And you're on familiar terms with them?"
I decide to engage them playfully, respond, "I don't know who they are."
"Yo, for real?!" the first grunt exclaims in surprise, taken aback by our denial.
Trenor, backing my response, remarks, "You wore the same masks and the same hairstyles, how would we remember any one of you?" The others, even Professor Kukui and Olivia, also nod.
"I am Hapu," the girl expresses her disbelief at the situation. "Life in the big city sure is something else. Pokémon thieves roam about brazenly... Hmm, I leave that one to you."
Feeling offended by the accusations, the grunt retorts defensively, "We're not thieves, yo! It's a legitimate business! We got straight messed up in Melemele...got exiled to Akala...but we ain't goin' out like that!"
As the situation escalates, we stand ready to assist Hapu in battling the Team Skull grunt. The grunt, determined to prove their worth, sends out a Drowzee once more.
Responding swiftly, I summon Crabrawler to the battlefield, ready for another round of combat. With a show of strength and strategy, Crabrawler launches a series of powerful attacks, quickly overpowering the opposing Drowzee. The battle is brief as Drowzee is swiftly knocked out, unable to withstand Crabrawler's onslaught.
"Not again...with all these losses, we're gonna anger our bosses!" The grunt yells. "These tears taste like salt, yo! It's all your fault, yo!"
However, before their blame game towards the Drifloon can escalate further, Hapu's imposing Mudsdale steps forward, causing the grunts to reconsider their actions.
"Mudsdale, shall we stomp these scoundrels? It'll be a mess to clean up afterward, but I am willing if you are," Hapu proposes, hinting at the consequences if the grunts don't retreat.
Realizing the impending trouble, the grunts hastily decide to retreat. "Time for us to break out, yo! Gotta tell y'all peace out, yo!" one of them blurts out, while the other adds, "I'm not gonna keep telling you this...except when I keep telling you this! You better listen to what my homie says and drill it into that thick skull of yours! Seriously! You'd better not forget, numskull!"
As they hastily run off, Hapu turns her attention to the Drifloon they accused. "You'll be fine getting home?" The Drifloon nods and floats away, seemingly relieved.
"Glad to see that one will get home on her own. I've got you to thank for that. Give me your name, Trainers," Hapu requests, turning towards us, acknowledging our assistance in resolving the situation.
After introducing ourselves, Hapu nods in acknowledgment. "Ash, right? I like the way you handled yourself in battle."
"Thanks?" I respond, a bit unsure but appreciative of the compliment.
"Mudsdale and I are always wandering all about Alola to try to achieve our goals, so perhaps we'll meet again someday. I am indebted to you for your aid, after all," Hapu expresses her gratitude before noticing the nearby gate.
"Ah yes. You might want to try your hand at a Battle Royal or two, player. Mudsdale here thinks you'd be well suited to it, given how strong you are," she suggests, indicating the potential for us to engage in Battle Royals.
With a final nod, Hapu bids us farewell as she and Mudsdale depart, continuing their travels across Alola. Meanwhile, we prepare to enter Royal Avenue, intrigued by the prospect of exploring what lies ahead in their Alolan journey.
As we stand in awe of the grandeur of the Battle Royal Dome, I can't help but gasp, "So that's the Battle Royale Dome! It's huge!"
"Yeah, that's the famous place in the Royal Avenue, after all," Lillie remarks, equally impressed by the sight.
Amidst our excitement, Trenor notices that Professor Kukui has mysteriously disappeared. "Hey, where's the Professor?" he asks, looking around for any sign of their mentor.
"He was just here a few minutes ago..." Selene adds, a hint of concern in her voice. "Should we wait for him?" she suggests, wondering about their next course of action.
Offering reassurance, Olivia chimes in confidently, "Don't worry, he'll be joining us soon." Her assurance helps ease any worry among the group as we eagerly anticipate Professor Kukui's arrival to begin our Battle Royal adventure.
"It's Gladion..." Nate observes as we catch sight of Gladion entering the Royal Dome. He seems preoccupied, muttering to himself with a hint of resignation, "Hmph. Why do I do this... Every time something brings me down, I end up coming right back here again... Come on, Null. Let's go bury our sorrow in the crowd. We're going to be strong enough to protect them this time..."
His words reflect a sense of inner conflict and determination as he enters the stadium with his Pokémon, Type: Null. Lillie says, "I wonder what he's doing there..."
As we step further into the hall, taking in the sights and sounds of the Battle Royal Dome, a voice catches our attention. "Glad you could make it!"
Our gaze shifts upward to see a masked figure approaching us with an air of enthusiasm. "I'm here today, yeah, to spread the word, oh yeah, about Battle Royal! They call me...the Masked Royal! Woo!"
Lillie, surprised by the sudden appearance and demeanor of the figure, questions, "Professor Kukui? What's up with this outfit?"
The masked individual, supposedly Professor Kukui, swiftly corrects her with a confident tone, "Who is this Professor Kukui? I am the Masked Royal. Don't get it wrong."
His unexpected response causes us to exchange puzzled glances, each sporting a sweat drop of confusion.
"I'm here to teach you, oh yeah, about the battle format passed down in Alola for generations... The Pokémon Battle Royal. Woo!" The Masked Royal announces with an enthusiastic flourish.
I let out a sigh, feeling a bit exasperated. "The way he talks, is he treating us as if we're clueless or something?" I remark, expressing my frustration.
Rosa nods in agreement. "Somehow I have to agree with you. It's a bit... peculiar."
The Masked Royal continues, explaining the rules of the Battle Royal in his distinct style. "But, Royal, what's the Battle Royal? Four Trainers! Four Trainers, yeah, each pick three Pokémon, yeah, for one big Pokémon battle, oh yeah! When one Trainer's team can't battle anymore, yeah, the Battle Royal ends! Whichever Trainer has taken out the most Pokémon, yeah, and has the most Pokémon left will emerge the winner. Woo!"
Lillie, catching onto the change in his tone, comments, "Now he tries to change the way he talks so that we don't recognize him..."
Nate chimes in with agreement, "Yeah..."
The Masked Royal's invitation to participate motivates us to give it a try. "First, just give it a shot! Pick your Pokémon, and let's do this!" he encourages.
"Dude! It's the Masked Royal! I wanna battle! I wanna battle!" Hau's enthusiastic voice echoes through the hall, drawing attention to his excitement.
Professor Kukui acknowledges Hau's enthusiasm with a nod. "You there! Come join in the fun!" he invites, gesturing for Gladion to participate in the Battle Royal. Gladion sighs before joining in.
"I'll be in the mix, too, yeah. And now we have our foursome. Woo!" Professor Kukui announces, acknowledging the assembled group of trainers.
"What?! Gladion, too?!" Hau gasps.
"Discovery! New experiences! Adventure! It's all yours if you want it! It's time for a Pokémon Battle Royal! Ready...fight!" The Professor declares, signaling the beginning of the Battle Royal and prompting everyone to get ready for the thrilling competition ahead.
The atmosphere in the Battle Royal Dome buzzes with anticipation as the contenders take their places in the corners of the stadium. The announcer's voice echoes through the arena, heightening the excitement.
"We're in the Battle Royal Dome, the arena for Battle Royals. The dome is packed and filled with excitement! Now here come the contenders!"
"In the green corner, Ash Ketchum sent out his Litten!" I wave cheerfully to the crowd, though Litten is actually more interest in the battle.
"In the yellow corner, Hau sent out Dartrix!" Hau wears his signature laid-back smile, and Dartrix exudes confidence as they acknowledge the audience.
"In the red corner, Pro Wrestler The Royal sent out Incineroar!" Professor Kukui releases his Pokémon, Incineroar, with a nod, showcasing his readiness for the competition.
"And in the blue corner, Gladion sent out Umbreon!" As Umbreon emerges onto the battlefield, the stoic demeanor of Gladion is evident, signaling his determination for the Battle Royal.
With all four trainers and Pokémon positioned, the Battle Royal officially commences, setting the stage for an intense and thrilling clash between their skilled and diverse teams. The crowd erupts in cheers as the battle begins, each corner prepared to showcase their prowess in the arena.
As the bell signals the start of the Battle Royal, the action unfolds swiftly. Litten lunges forward, initiating the assault with a Scratch attack, while Dartrix follows suit with a barrage of Razor Leaf and Umbreon strikes with a powerful Dark Pulse. Despite their combined effort, Incineroar shrugs off the attacks, displaying impressive resilience.
Hau remains determined. "Dartrix, keep up the pressure! Use Aerial Ace!" he commands, urging his Pokémon to continue the offensive.
The swift aerial assault is met with a counter from Incineroar, expertly deflecting the incoming attack before delivering a forceful blow to Dartrix, knocking it on the head.
"Now we'll show you a little move we've been saving just for this! Darkest Lariat, go!" With the attack happening, Hau and Gladion's two Pokemon are defeated, but Litten is still standing, showcasing remarkable stamina.
"Great job, Litten! You're doing great!" I encourage my Pokémon, proud of its perseverance amidst the fierce battle. I notice Litten emitting a low growl, a sign of its determination and readiness to push forward despite the daunting opposition.
Professor Kukui keenly observes the situation and remarks, "I see. So you realized we're still holding back, didn't you?"
As the intensity of the moment dawns upon us, the revelation of Incineroar's restrained power prompts a collective gasp from the three of us. Meanwhile, Litten remains steadfast, emitting a continuous low growl, showcasing its resolve and readiness to face the challenge head-on.
"I get it. We're having a battle. Getting serious is what it's all about!" I assert, acknowledging the escalation in the battle's intensity.
"All right. Incineroar, I'm right with you! I'll get serious too!" Professor Kukui yells. The crowd is now cheering for Litten.
"Litten, everyone's cheering for you, let's give it everything we got!" I say. Incineroar swiftly employs the move Bulk Up, enhancing its size and strength, preparing itself for the impending clash. Meanwhile, Litten, determined to make an impact, initiates a Fire Fang attack, aiming to seize an advantage in the battle.
However, before Litten's Fire Fang can take effect, Incineroar seizes the opportunity, grabbing hold of Litten. With precision, it executes a forceful Throat Chop attack, launching Litten across the arena with powerful momentum.
The impact sends Litten hurtling through the air, a testament to the sheer force behind Incineroar's maneuver. The crowd gasps in response to the dramatic display of power, witnessing the intensity and skill of the battle unfolding within the Battle Royal Dome. In the heat of the battle, Litten shows resilience, getting back on its feet despite the forceful blow from Incineroar's earlier attack.
"We're not done yet. Use Ember!" Litten retaliates with an Ember attack, aiming to turn the tide.
"It's no use." Professor Kukui remarks. Incineroar's fire belt acts as a barrier, deflecting the incoming flames. Seizing the moment, Incineroar charges forward with a Cross Chop, and Litten counters with an underdeveloped Flame Charge. Despite its efforts, Litten is struck once more by Incineroar's powerful attack, sending it reeling back.
Seeing Litten's determination, I encourage my Pokémon to continue the fight. "Use Flame Charge one more time!" I command, my voice filled with unwavering support. Responding to my encouragement, Litten channels its resolve and determination.
"Looks like you still have a long way to go," Professor Kukui taunts, noting the ongoing progress in the battle.
Responding to the challenge, I echo Kukui's sentiment but with determination. "We know! Our Pokémon, too. We all still have a long way to go, but we're all going to work hard and get strong! What do you say, everyone?" I encourage, rallying our Pokémon with a call for unity and perseverance.
Our Pokémon respond with enthusiastic cheers, showcasing their determination and solidarity in the face of the challenge ahead. "Hear that, Litten? You're getting stronger right now! Show them how serious you are!" I affirm, directing encouragement toward Litten, fueling its determination.
Empowered by our collective determination and encouragement, Litten charges once more with Flame Charge. This time, as the fiery energy envelops its entire body, the aura intensifies, radiating an even more formidable power and determination, signifying the Pokémon's unwavering resolve to become stronger.
Incineroar catches Litten once more but driven by my unwavering support, Litten breaks free from Incineroar's grasp with a ball of intense fire. In a spectacular moment amidst the flames, Litten undergoes a remarkable transformation.
As the flames subside, the evolved form of Litten stands in its place, now a powerful Torracat, having evolved through its determination and the intensity of the battle. The arena erupts in awe at the evolution, witnessing the remarkable growth and strength of my Pokémon.
Torracat: The Fire Cat Pokemon: Fire Type. Evolve from Litten at LV:17.It can act spoiled if it grows close to its Trainer. A powerful Pokémon, its sharp claws can leave its Trainer's whole body covered in scratches.
In a thrilling turn of events, the Masked Royal, fired up by the escalating intensity of the battle, commands Incineroar to unleash the Darkest Lariat, aiming to overpower Torracat.
Torracat, having perfected its Flame Charge, channels its enhanced power, countering Incineroar's Darkest Lariat with a resounding clash of fiery energy. The force of Torracat's attack proves potent enough to halt Incineroar's move momentarily, showcasing the immense strength it has gained through its evolution.
"Now check this out! Once more!" Undeterred, Torracat presses on, executing another Flame Charge with agile finesse. Skillfully maneuvering through Incineroar's attempts to counter, Torracat slips past its opponent's claws before colliding once more, creating a powerful clash between the two Pokémon. The impact sends both Pokémon reeling backward, Incineroar displaying signs of exhaustion from the intense battle.
As the battle reaches its climax, Incineroar, having bulked up its strength, utilizes its Throat Chop against Torracat's Flame Charge. The collision between the two moves results in a fierce clash, and though Incineroar emerges victorious, Torracat demonstrates incredible determination and resilience.
In the climax of the battle, despite Torracat's valiant efforts, I ultimately faced defeat as Incineroar emerged victorious over Torracat. Despite the outcome, I rush forward and embrace Torracat tightly, expressing heartfelt admiration, "You're incredible. That flame of yours, it's grown immensely powerful!"
Professor Kukui commends Incineroar, acknowledging its excellent performance, "Excellent work, Incineroar. You never disappoint."
As the battle concludes, Torracat maintains a defiant snarl directed at Incineroar. I observe the rivalry budding between Torracat and the Professor's Incineroar, recognizing the emergence of a spirited rivalry between the two Pokémon. Despite the loss, there's a sense of pride in seeing Torracat's determination and the establishment of a competitive bond between the two powerful Fire-type Pokémon.
I'll end the chapter right here, as you can see, the Battle Royale is done with the Masked Royal being the winner, I want to combine the anime and game in this so I hope you like it.
