Chapter 29
As we arrive back at the house in Melemele Island, we're welcomed by my Mom, Lillie's Dad, Lillie, and Trenor. Lillie, her expression filled with concern, asks, "So Ash... how is Mother?"
Taking a deep breath, I respond, "Everything remains the same in the Ultra Dimensions at first... a wormhole appears, and Nihilego emerges from it."
Lillie visibly pales, and I continue, "But that's when things diverge from the events in the Ultra Dimensions. Dulse and Zossie appear, revealing the truth about Necrozma. Your mother never displays that eerie smile—instead, she shows only concern for your safety. She's afraid you might end up like your Dad..."
"Really? No malevolent intentions?" Lillie questions, her brows furrowing.
"Maybe not..." I sigh. "But then again, she's also a skilled aura user. I only inform her that I'll search for you and, once found, bring you back there. So, it depends on whether you want to return or not."
Lillie nods pensively as a frown creases her brow. Mohn, her father, chimes in, "I may not remember much about Lusamine... but there's a reason why I married her. I'm certain that despite being upset with you for taking the Cosmog, she'll eventually forgive you and comprehend everything."
"I really hope so," Lillie responds, embracing her father tightly.
Returning to the challenge of mastering Lycanroc's Rock-type Z Move, Continental Crush, we encounter persistent difficulties. Lycanroc grows increasingly frustrated as our attempts continue to fall short. Professor Kukui steps in with a suggestion, theorizing that the evolution brought about increased power that Lycanroc might not yet have the experience to harness and control effectively. We collectively agree to revise our approach, opting to go back to the fundamentals.
Professor Kukui adjusts the training regimen, focusing on refining our basic moves. We dedicate ourselves to rigorous practice, tirelessly honing our techniques. Through persistent effort and unwavering determination, we finally witness a breakthrough—the once-elusive Continental Crush begins to manifest successfully.
Exhilaration fills us as Lycanroc executes the move flawlessly. Grinning broadly, we share a sense of accomplishment, having overcome the obstacle through hard work and perseverance.
As we head to Mallow's restaurant, anticipating her presence due to her early departure from school for the news report about their kitchen, we're surprised to find only her father there. His demeanor reflects concern as he reveals that Mallow has reached a breaking point and fled from home. Alarmed by the news, we immediately decide to launch a search to find her.
To our astonishment, we stumble upon an unexpected sight—our Oranguru, typically at our mansion, is now running a drink shop nearby. To our greater surprise, we discover Mallow there.
It becomes apparent that Mallow's father is acquainted with our Oranguru from their time on Akala Island, which led to the establishment of Aina Kitchen. As Mallow's father attempts to express his gratitude, Oranguru interrupts and subtly gestures towards Mallow, prompting a realization within him. Understanding what he needs to do, he expresses his gratitude to her. This touching moment causes Mallow to tear up, and she rushes into her father's arms, overcome with emotion.
After our visit to Lana following her unsuccessful attempt at mastering the Hydro Vortex, we encounter a woman named Ida and her Brionne performing an impressive showcase. Lana expresses her eagerness to learn from Ida, and soon, we also meet her boyfriend, Kanoa, who discloses that he's a treasure hunter currently on the trail of a valuable find.
Lana begins her training under Ida's guidance, aiming to refine her skills. Subsequently, we join Kanoa in pursuit of the Mystic Water, a fabled treasure hidden within a sunken ship. Our expedition takes an unexpected turn when we encounter a formidable guardian—Dhelmise—protecting the prized treasure. Determined to claim it, we devise a plan to drive away the Dhelmise.
Through steadfast efforts and determination, Lana perseveres, successfully teaching her Popplio the Hydro Vortex technique. With newfound mastery of the move, Popplio employs it skillfully, sending the Dhelmise flying and allowing us to access the treasure—the coveted Mystic Water.
The boys, Trenor and Kiawe, decide to aid Sophocles in joining an annual Charjabug race, a competition requiring a team of three to participate. Eager to assist Sophocles, we collectively engage in training sessions to prepare for the event.
As the race day arrives, the three face off against the formidable Red Comet Team, led by a boy named Horacio with their remarkable Shiny Charjabug. The race unfolds as an exhilarating spectacle filled with unexpected challenges. A Boldore disrupts the course, conjuring cliffs that demand agile maneuvering. Next, the terrain shifts to a treacherous desert expanse, testing the teams' resilience. To further complicate matters, Castform's Hail attack creates a slippery surface, adding an extra layer of difficulty.
Despite the intense obstacles, Sophocles' team exhibits remarkable teamwork and resilience. Navigating through the challenges with strategic coordination, they persevere and emerge victorious to our immense delight, claiming the title of the winner of the race.
During our Pokémon training sessions, we witness the remarkable evolution of Dewpider into Araquanid, reaching its formidable final form. However, what stands out most about Araquanid's evolution is its peculiar habit of storing items within its bubble.
To our surprise and amusement, Araquanid begins to express a desire for us to wear bubble helmets, mirroring its own penchant for collecting and storing items within bubbles. Despite the quirkiness of the request, we oblige, much to the amusement of our companions.
Araquanid: The Water Bubble Pokemon: Water and Bug Type. Evolve from Dewpider at LV:22. Despite what its appearance suggests, it cares for others. If it finds vulnerable, weak Pokémon, it protectively brings them into its water bubble.
Another Pokémon that undergoes a significant evolution is Morelull, transforming into Shiinotic, its powerful final form. With this evolution comes the acquisition of a beneficial new move called Strength Sap. This newfound ability proves incredibly valuable during battles, aiding Shiinotic tremendously by allowing it to recover health when necessary. The addition of Strength Sap enhances Shiinotic's resilience, providing a strategic advantage in challenging situations and bolstering its effectiveness in battles.
Shiinotic: The Illuminating Pokemon: Grass and Fairy Type. Evolve from Morelull at LV:24. Forests where Shiinotic live are treacherous to enter at night. People confused by its strange lights can never find their way home again.
As we pursue Kagetora's request to locate the Eevee users, our search leads us to Polly, the Vaporeon User. Surprisingly, we discover that Polly is an elderly cleaner working at the school, despite her unique affiliation with Vaporeon.
Upon encountering her, Polly inquires, "You're from Professor Kukui's class, are you? What do you want from an old cleaning lady?"
"I want to inquire if you consider yourself the most skilled Vaporeon user?" I inquire. "Kagetora sent us to challenge you to a battle."
"...Well, yes, I suppose I am," she responds. Then she queries, "What's that? Kagetora sent you to battle me? I don't mind. But no complaints out of you for having to take on this bent old woman!"
"Alright, Pikachu, let's show them the power of our bond!" I call out, rallying my trusty Pokémon into action.
Vaporeon wastes no time and initiates the battle with a swift Water Gun attack. Pikachu, nimble and agile, evade the incoming water jets with quick dodges, leaping aside to avoid the assault.
"Pikachu, use Quick Attack and close in!" I command.
With a burst of lightning speed, Pikachu darts forward, launching a rapid barrage of Quick Attacks, aiming to overwhelm Vaporeon. However, Polly's Vaporeon displays remarkable agility, dodging and countering with a strategic Aqua Tail, dealing a solid blow to Pikachu.
"Pikachu, hang in there! It's time for our ace move!" I exclaim, feeling the anticipation rise as I start to do the dance with Pikachu.
"Catastropika, now!" I shout, as Pikachu descends with electrifying force.
The Z-Move Catastropika surges forth, a colossal thunderbolt crashing down upon Vaporeon with unparalleled force. The dazzling display of electrifying energy illuminates the battlefield as Vaporeon struggles to withstand the overwhelming power. Despite Vaporeon's resilience, the sheer force of Catastropika proves insurmountable. The intense electric energy surges through the air, overwhelming Vaporeon and leaving it unable to continue the battle.
"If you want to see a rainbow, you've got to wait for it to stop raining." Polly remarks with a serene smile. "Every rain cloud has its end... And no one can win against time's march. Now I'm retired from training, and I spend my days with Vaporeon cleaning these windows."
"That's a thoughtful way to embrace change," I reply warmly.
"But how is that boy Kagetora doing? Is he well?" She asks, and I reply, "Kagetora is doing quite well, continuing his dedication to Pokémon and training."
We exchange a few more pleasantries and well wishes before bidding each other farewell, leaving behind Polly and her Vaporeon amidst the peaceful routine of cleaning the windows, a serene contrast to their once competitive battles.
As we arrive in Iki Town, we come across Rea, known as the strongest Glaceon user, in her home. She appears preoccupied, muttering, "When is that grandson of mine coming home?"
"Are you the most skilled Glaceon user?" Lillie inquires. "Kagetora sent us to challenge you."
"Well... I am Rea, who used to always use a Glaceon in battle," she responds, "You're friends with that Kagetora? Sure, I'll battle you. I'll get it over with in no time, don't you worry."
The battle is between Lillie using Charizard and Glaceon. "Charizard, let's show them the strength of our bond! Flamethrower, go!" Lillie commands, initiating the battle.
Glaceon, swift and agile, evades the fiery onslaught with graceful movements, dodging the intense flames launched by Charizard's Flamethrower attack. Rea's strategic prowess becomes evident as Glaceon swiftly maneuvers around the battlefield, skillfully avoiding Charizard's attacks and lands Icy Wind lowering his speed.
"Charizard, don't relent! Use Dragon Claw!" Lillie urges, determined to break through Glaceon's defenses. Despite Charizard's powerful strikes, Glaceon's agility and resilience prove to be formidable challenges, as it expertly counters each move with swift dodges and calculated defenses.
The battle rages on, with neither side giving an inch in this intense showdown of strength and strategy. Sensing the need to unleash their ace move, Lillie decides to make a bold move. "Charizard, it's time! Show them our full power with Inferno Overdrive!"
Channeling an immense surge of fiery energy, Charizard harnesses the power of its Z-Crystal, igniting the battlefield with an overwhelming inferno. The air crackles with intense heat as Charizard unleashes the Z-Move Inferno Overdrive, unleashing a colossal eruption of flames that engulfs the battlefield. The scorching flames envelop Glaceon in a blazing vortex, overwhelming its defenses and leaving it unable to withstand the sheer magnitude of the attack. In a dazzling display of power, Charizard's Inferno Overdrive proves unstoppable, securing victory for Lillie in an awe-inspiring blaze of glory. As the flames subside, Glaceon is unable to continue the battle, and Lillie emerges triumphant.
"Summer ice is much sought after, but no one even glances at winter ice." Rea muses softly. "Even the drifting snow will melt away. The only thing I want out of life now is to spend as much time as I can with my grandchildren. You tell Kagetora that's my biggest worry now. I don't want him sending more Trainers after me."
With respectful nods, we bid Rea farewell, leaving her to await the return of her grandson in the quiet solitude of her home. Her contemplative words linger in the air, reflecting her desire for cherished family time amid life's changing seasons.
Here is a new chapter, and this chapter is actually just the daily lives of the anime episodes along with the Eevee quests. I hope you like it and the next chapter will be the Kanto revisit.
