HOGWARTS LIBRARY - MONDAY 22ND SEPTEMBER - 6:34 PM
Astoria frowned as she scribbled down notes on her table at the back of the library.
"Curse Snape for this stupid essay. Making me miss dinner... Daphne's going to kill me!" she muttered under her breath as she wrote about the properties of the pepperup potion. She hissed as the mark on her arm burned her.
"Are you struggling with Snape's homework too?"
Astoria jumped as a male voice rang out of nowhere. She let out a breath of relief when she saw it was only a Gryffindor boy in the year below.
"Hi! Dennis, right?"
The boy blushed, "Yeah, Dennis Creevey. I'm surprised you even know my name,"
"Why wouldn't I?" Astoria asked confusedly.
"With me being a muggle-born and all..."
Astoria rolled her eyes, "I've never understood blood prejudice. We're all magic. And personally, I believe in the theory that muggle-borns are descendants from squibs,"
"Really?" he asked looking very interested.
"Yes, I read it in a book. I could show you after we're done working on this homework Snape gave us," she suggested, smiling at him nervously. Dennis grinned back and settled down next to her bringing his parchment out.
Astoria blushed as she and her new friend began working on their homework.
Meanwhile in the Room of Requirement things were going very different. The atmosphere was very awkward. And of course, a certain group of 4 were loving it.
"Is anyone else feeling really awkward right now," commented Dean obnoxiously, enjoying the shade of red two faces turned into.
"Merlin, Dean why do you have to make it so much more awkward by saying that it's awkward," Theo said, acting oblivious to the situation in the room.
"Merlin, Theo why do you have to make it so even more awkward by asking Dean why he made it more awkward," Blaise inputted.
"Merlin, Blaise why do you have to-"
"Enough!" shouted Harry, his face red.
"I didn't even get a go," Seamus said sadly as Harry gave them a look of distaste, "Ginny and I are old enough to deal with this maturely. We can be in the same room. Right?" He turned to look at Ginny who stared at him from her seat next to Hermione.
"Yes... I suppose so,"
Draco sucked in a breath, "That didn't sound very reassuring," Pansy elbowed him in the stomach.
Hermione pinched the bridge of her nose, "Guys we're here for an update with the school, not the latest gossip,"
"But Hermione, the shitshow is right in front of us," moaned Daphne, "Me and Tracey are sitting in front of the hottest topics in school at the moment and you don't want us to talk about it? I thought we were becoming friends,"
Tracey looked between Harry and Ginny, "Why did you two break up anyways? It won't leave here. I promise!" she added when everyone looked, "I'm not a Hufflepuff,"
"Hey!" screeched Hannah, still upset about her sudden lost friendship with Ernie and Susan.
Tracey turned to her, "I'm sorry Hannah, but you puffs bought it on yourselves. How can I tell Sally-Anne about me and Blaise in 5th year and then bam it's all over the school,"
"That's Sally-Anne," wailed Hannah, "Why would you trust Sally-Anne?!"
"GUYS!" yelled Sue. Everyone looked at her, "I agree with Hermione. This isn't the time for gossip. We've found something about the school," Everyone turned to the Ravenclaws as Jason bought a book out of his bag.
"A book?!" Hermione said excitedly.
"A book," Pansy said miserably.
Jason passed the book to a jumping Hermione who snatched the book out of his hands. Jason stared at her adoringly
"Buildings and the Magic That Surrounds Them," she readout.
"You should read it, I feel like you'd like it," he smiled at her. Draco narrowed his eyes at Jason.
"Maybe you should just tell us what's in it," he hissed. Jason looked at him warily.
"Right... So the book is written by Lana Vale Wencher and it's her theories on sentiment buildings. We- I mean the Ravenclaws decided it would be best that you all read it in your spare time to gain an understanding," Luna and Su got up and started handing everyone a copy.
"So you're giving us homework?" Daphne eyed the book apprehensively.
"It looks a bit... thick don't you think," Neville marvelled, flicking through the book.
"I'm not reading that," deadpanned Pansy. Ginny simply slammed her head onto the book.
"Listen, we've already got a ridiculous amount of homework set by our teachers we do not need this too," Hannah complained.
"No," Draco said. Tracey threw her book on the floor.
"Me and my boys say no," snapped Blaise. He added his book to a pile that Dean, Seamus and Theo had made with theirs and they all stepped back.
"Incendio" They all shouted pointing at the books. The rest of the room jumped away as a blast of fire came up.
"What the fuck!" spluttered Draco.
"Ginny type of beat," muttered Daphne who received a glare in return, "What? The joke was right there!"
Luna smiled.
"Idiots," Only Hermione could hear Bellatrix's jab at the boys.
"I hate all of you. Aguamenti!" Hermione rolled her eyes as water came spraying out of her wand and over the fire. Luna gave the boys and Tracey another copy of the book ("How many copies do you lot have?!")
"You all have enough time to read this book,"
"What happens if we don't?" asked Draco annoyed at being extra work to do.
"Come on guys we can do this! This is our school!" Jason encouraged them. Everyone groaned as they heard music startup.
"NO!" shouted Draco. The music stopped. Everyone turned to him. Draco nodded apprieciativly.
"It seems the curse knows when a King is talking."
Everyone threw their books at him.
"There's another thing we have to do," Hermione said pointing at Ginny, "We need our skilled Legilimens to pry into Ginny's mind to find out what happened that night,"
"That would be me!" Theo hopped up.
"And me," Dean followed him up. Both of them walked to Ginny.
"Are you ready?" Ginny nodded and closed her eyes.
Both boys pointed their wands at Ginny and whispered, "Legilimens"
After a few minutes, the boys emerged from her memory with Theo looking confused and Dean and Ginny looking furious.
"What is it?" Daphne asked worriedly.
Ginny turned to her viciously.
"I'm sure you know. You probably planned this with your bitch sister!"
Daphne shot up and threw herself at Ginny only to be held back by Blaise.
"Whoaaa, Ginny what's wrong?" Pansy enquired trying to comfort Ginny but Ginny moved away from here. But Ginny sidestepped.
"It was Astoria. Astoria Greengrass attacked me! And you probably all HELPED HER!"
