Prologue
A silver dragon flew from the icy plains, across the kingdom of sand.
"I need to hurry." He thought to himself, looking up at the sky. It was nearly nightfall.
Almost the brightest night. The others must have brought the rest already.
Hviter flew with his little bundle close to his chest. "Don't worry little one." he whispered to the little silver blue egg. "Though your mother will never get to see you, or you see her, your father will. I will protect you." He flew toward the mountains.
Near the kingdom of sky.
He landed beside the cave opening.
"Hviter? That you?"
"The one and only." He responded, clutching the silver blue egg. A light sandy colored dragon limped out of the shadows. His wings drooped down. One really damaged. His dark eyes looked down at the egg.
"Glad to see she came through." The dragon responded.
Hviter chuckled. "Yah," he sighed, "she did."
His eyes fell somberly toward the ground. The dragon sighed, twitching his barbed tail.
"When will this war end?" The dragon growled.
"Soon, Dune. We just have to watch these dragonets." Hviter responded, hopeful.
*Scoff*
Hviter and Dune swirled around to the rust colored dragon who had scoffed.
"Kestrel, you believe in this prophecy as much as we do." Hviter sighed.
Kestrel rolled her eyes. "I came to see if you arrived." Her eyes narrowed down to the silver blue egg in his talons. "Glad to see you both came back in one piece."
She turned around into the next room. Hviter and Dune followed close behind her. In the room was a nest. There were three eggs inside it. A bright yellow one, a black one, and a dark blue.
"Where is Asha?" Hviter asked.
"She went to find the mudwing egg." A teal green dragon said, walking out of the pool.
"All we need is the Skywing." Kestrel growled. Hviter eyed her as he placed the egg in the nest. The teal dragon rubbed his palms together, nervously.
"How are we going to get in?" he asked.
"I'm the only skywing here, obviously I'll go." Kestrel yawned, swishing her tail. Hviter winced a little.
"Are you sure?" He asked. "Even aft-"
"Yes." She hissed. The teal dragon held up a talon, standing in between Hviter and Kestrel.
"Maybe we should vote.." he stuttered.
"Shut up, Webs!" She roared. "I'll go!"
"Kestrel." Hviter said, calmly. "I'll go."
Kestrel stopped and stared at him. "No. You'll be caught instantly."
"So would you." Hviter retorted. "I'll go."
He turned toward the exit then stopped.
"If I don't come back, tell that Icewing everything."
He walked out the exit. It was dark and cloudy.
"Probably going to rain." He thought. As he was about to take off, Kestrel placed her claws on his shoulder.
"That egg is yours, isn't it?" She said, softly.
Hviter looked down, nodding slowly.
"At least tell me what you want to name it."
Hviter went stiff for a bit, tears skimming his eyes.
"She always liked Frost." He chuckled softly. Kestrel nodded slowly, taking her talons off his shoulders. Hviter shook his head, standing up straight.
"You better go." She said, softly. Hviter nodded and took off. As he took off, he could hear Kestrel whisper under her breath.
"Be careful…"
