The two sisters stared at each other. Amy's hand clenched and unclenched. She frowned at how Sandy held Tails so roughly. He was putting on a brave face, but it was easy to tell how uneasy he was.

That didn't happen often. Tails was often among the bravest of his friends. Even though he wasn't the most confident, he knew things would work out in the end. For him to appear like this filled Amy with nervousness.

"Why? Why do you want me dead? What have I done that was so terrible? I don't remember anything, but I'm very sure that I must have been at least eight. How can you hold me accountable for something I did then? I have amnesia, Sandy. I don't even remember this world..."

"That's enough!" yelled the Queen. For a moment after a heavy breath, she responded, "You do nothing but break your word. Like a coward you ran and disappeared, leaving me alone to hold my own in the world that turned against me, and yet you dare lecture me?! I had thought for sure you'd try your hardest to return to my side and fight off the king who destroyed our home. And where did I find you? Playing hero with your new friends, acting as though nothing ever happened. You replaced me without a second thought. And as for the whole forgotten memory story? You expect me to believe that after you left this world and me in it? I personally look forward to your demise, Traitor."

"Over my dead body," Shadow interrupted. He stepped in front of Amy, glaring at her so-called sister. "Amy is my friend, and no one comes near her. Not even scum who claim to be a relative."

"I'm scum?!"

Shadow remained in a protective stance. "You're the one who's holding on to things that happened when you were a child. That's reason enough to call you that."

"I'm done with your interference, black rat!"

With that, she threw a lightening bolt. Shadow pushed Amy down and jumped the opposite side. His speed took the queen by surprise. Tails, at that moment, yanked the chain from the Queen. He slipped to Amy's side and helped her back on her feet.

"Come on," he whispered. "We've got to get Sonic. Shadow will take care of Sandy."

Without hesitation, Amy nodded at her twin-tailed friend. She stood up and hurried alongside Tails. They bolted for the exit. Sandy turned to them in alarm and held out her hand. Two pillars of stone grew in front of the door in neckbreaking speed. The two friends screeched to an unexpected halt.

"And where do you think you're going?" the enraged sorceress yelled. "We're not finished, Amy. This is between you and me. We are sisters, after all."

Shadow rolled into a ball and propelled himself towards the rocky pillars. They crumbled immediately.

Amy glared at her sister and said, "No, Sandy. It's already over. We talked, and you will not listen. Let's go, Tails." She turned and waved at Shadow. "Good luck, Shadow."

Sandy threw another lightening bolt which was put out by Shadow's chaos spear. Amy and Tails made them quick escape. Amy's twin frowned for a moment until she smiled. Her hand lifted, and her fingers made a gesture. A clear crystal encased Shadow's feet.

She approached the ultimate life form who was tugging on his feet. In her hand, a long jagged crystal grew like a spear mixed with a dagger. She moved its tip against his neck.

"Never. Cross. Me," she stated, glaring with steady eye contact.
