Wow, I'm really surprised at the attention this gathered so far. I'll keep it up to see where it leads us. Thanks to those who followed, favorited and reviewed!
Some mistakes I made on this chapter were brought up to my attention and after correcting it I´m posting the revised version.
Breaking into a prison was easy enough for a demonic being such as him. Even a magical prison didn't pose a challenge. If he couldn't do such a thing, he really wouldn't be a useful butler for his master, right? One hell of a butler didn't flinch with something this easy. He had business to conduct back at Phantomhive manor, but first he had to find one "Sirius Black". If his master was right on his findings, then it was a given he would find Mister Black.
…
He had a little crystal bottle with ruby red demon blood. One of the most powerful substances on the face of the earth and also a great conductor for spells of any sort. This blood will act as a compass that will guide him straight to anyone with Phantomhive or Midford blood.
If he crossed paths with a true descendant of those families, the blood on the bottle will glow softly. This discovery was made when his master reviewed the family register. He was distantly related to Harry Potter through the Black family. That meant, Harry was familyand that changed everything. Even if that meant he was closely related to one Sirius Black and that kind of explained why Ciel felt connected to the last male with the Black family name. Harry and Sirius were family.
For now, they had to protect Harry properly and stake their claim, so no one could contest it. And the only legal tutor Harry had was one Sirius Black. They needed him on board and for that they had to clear him of all charges.
Something about his imprisonment rubbed Ciel the wrong way, he started to dig and had Sebastian do some research on the side. As demons they had access to the wizarding world. He was appalled at his discovery; those darned buffoons that couldn't pull their heads out of their asses had sent an innocent man to jail without a trial.
Oh, he was fuming and ached to give them a piece of his mind.
Sirius was family, after all. And he'd be damned if he left an offense to his family go unpunished. He still looked after the descendants of the Midfords; he owed it to his late aunt. It was only right. He certainly will look after distant relatives of the Phantomhives as he did for the Midfords.
His position as Watch Dog came in handy. As any respectable Sir and constable under her orders he had power and he intended to use it even if this time he might have to go near the limit of his influence. If Her Majesty intended to assign another one of her "bad nobles" to this task… but the end result could be manipulated. He delivered a report on the whole fiasco about Black´s unfair imprisonment amongst other things.
The response was swift and exactly what he wanted. He had to deal with this however he saw fit since none of the other nobles under her secret service where up to the task.
The decree came just in time too, Sebastian was already in Azkaban, and he had some other things to do.
Catching up in centuries of legislation from some underground stuck up society was something he didn't look forward to do but he had to, failure was not an option and he'll be damned if he lost for lack of knowledge. If those baboons had made something akin to legislation, he had to learn it by heart and twist it to fit his interests if needed. Pretty soon he will need to start building his field. In order to twist rules to his convenience he had to learn them first, right?
…
Finding the cells wasn't a problem. The Ministry was quite proud of having caught "such a supporter of the dark lord". So they had Black in a cell on the maximum security block. Magic people prided themselves on being "superior" to non-magical humans. But then again, non-magical people didn't revel in torturing their criminals. Having soul sucking wretches as wardens had to count as torture even in demonic books and these people really had lost their marbles if they thought this was acceptable. It seemed wizards didn't have a clue about Human Rights, so much for being more advanced than their non-magical counterpart. Sebastian despised Dementors. Nothing will make him happier than to dispose of them, but he was here on a mission and the things stayed out of his sight so he really couldn't lay a hand on them… shame really that even something as foul as a soul sucking wretch had survival instincts.
The blood on the bottle could be compared to a light bulb. That meant more than two people here were related to his master. What to do?
Oh well. He couldn't believe he was complaining of being bored out of his immortal mind a couple of days ago.
…
Ciel Phantomhive had a different face and he advanced with the surety of someone who was assured in his power. Intimidating and looking the picture of a nobleman even with the baby in tow being the picture of cuteness.
Today it was all about making a power statement, the barriers around Malfoy Manor ancient and renowned as they were turned out to be useless against a demon. Ciel passed through the gates of the garden on Malfoy Manor without a hitch and he was almost at the doorway of the mansion when weird lights started to come in his direction, so he didn't hold back. He sidestepped every spell with the ease only demon speed could provide and Lucius Malfoy was the picture of terror. And that was exactly what Ciel Phanthomhive wanted, you see… he wanted him and his merry band of deranged leftovers from Voldemort to pay dearly for what they had done and in order to do that he had to show them exactly who´s boss. And he also wanted them to stay away from Harry. This crowd just understood fear and power, if someone happened to be powerful and intimidating at once… they could gather a lot of followers playing their cards right; he really didn't know how the baby could sleep through all of this, but then again that was preferable than to have a wailing infant to deal with on top of everything else.
Finally tired of playing with his prey, Ciel snatched Lucius wand with him not even seeing it coming, he wasn't wearing an eye patch so his seal was visible. And he knew he looked intimidating. His demon form wasn't precisely friendly.
_ As warm as I find this welcome, we have some business to discuss. I have it as rules not to hurt innocent children so don't worry about your son. Everyone else just have to be on their best behavior. And I happen to be quite pissed at you and your wife. So… want to take this inside? Do pardon me for being rude. I really don't have time to spare.
Lucius didn't really have much option, this… being was powerful enough to do whatever he wanted and he really wasn't asking. He was demanding.
…
Narcisa set the study and served the tea, menial tasks she wouldn't bother herself with otherwise, but they really didn't want to offend this guest and domestic elves didn't even want to step near this… man. Not even under the threat of being freed.
That had to count for something. When Lucius found her inside her drawing room and told her they had a particular guest, she had mournfully thought it might be the dark lord or someone related to him and almost resigned herself to deal with her husband antics once he started going on their raids and reunions, her own family had supported Voldemort but she really didn't like the man, he looked utterly disgusting. Who else could it be that managed to command Lucius into an unarranged meeting? She didn't expect it to be a nobleman sharply dressed in black with a baby and he had been able to intimidate her husband to the point of obedience. He certainly looked angry.
He was setting and it seemed he was angry at her too, why ever for? She'd never seen this man before.
_ Sir Phantomhive is it? To what do we owe this meeting? And if it wouldn't be bold to ask… how did you manage to sidestep the wards?
For all answer, Ciel looked at Narcisa and she fell on the loveseat beside Lucius, her eyes wide with astonished terror on her pale face. It felt as if someone pushed her.
She didn't dare to move. Lucius on the other side looked at his wife without understanding what happened. Narcisa wasn't the kind of woman who just fell like this. Something had happened.
Before he could question his guest, the baby in the room finally woke up and graced them with a glimpse of impossibly green eyes.
The identity of the mystery baby was revealed and they stared, the closest to open mouthed a pureblood could be, to the toddler that managed to vanquish the dark lord.
Of course, the baby just giggled and gurgled at them.
_ Your wards can't keep my kind out. They're completely useless against me. That being said, I have business with you. Family business, that's why I took it upon myself to grace you with my presence so I could give you a piece of my mind, but I do believe your immediate ancestor must be turning in their graves at this ignominy – Ciel said all this without changing his facial expression, even when Harry started to act out. Usually a gentle baby, he was at the verge of crying. He could feel the fear emanating from the other adults in the room and he didn't like it one bit. - I want to know why you both saw fit to allow Sirius Black to go to jail withouta trial. And how you intend to atone for it, as the last male with bearing the name of Black he´s head of house of your wife´s family and this could be labeled as a grave offense.
Lucius Malfoy was pale with anger and indignation. Narcisa couldn't face this man properly, intimidated as she was for being pushed onto the loveseat.
_ Even if your relationship with Black wasn't good enough he´s still related to your wife and your son, one might think petty rivalries and different ideologies wont blind you to your filial duties. If you wanted to show how you don't care about the House of Black, you proved your point. And I will make you pay for it, seeing as there´s no head of house, the only male available for the role being unjustly imprisoned and all.
_ My cousin would've been caught dead before accepting help from us and we weren't in a position where we could afford to help him. - Narcisa answered, stiff as a board. This problem came from the House of Black, she had to take responsibility.
_ Even so, it was your duty to your family, not only yours, but hisas well. Even if your husband and son are your immediate family, you still have duties with the Black family. Leaving the head of house imprisoned by some dunderheads doesn't look to great on your record. Really, who teaches you about filial duty and manners nowadays?
Indignity coursed through them; angry and scared they were also getting a first-hand taste of hopelessness. And they didn't like it. Really, they were adults and being berated by someone that looked younger certainly stung.
_ So, I take it you want me to intercede on this situation. But even if I did, that won't guarantee that Black has a fair trial and I could even be dragged into this whole mess. - said Lucius, with a clipped tone that barely concealed his anger.
_ You're already in it even if you're not paying the consequences, even so, you have a point, and I don't abandon family, even political or distantly related. You won't be affected by this whole mess, you were in it even without my intervention, but if we play our cards right you can get away even better than you are right now. Even if you people believe yourselves unbeatable and untouchable, there's someone that holds power over you and might come to collect, I on the other hand can be a reasonable master if not betrayed. I'll cut straight to the chase, I have someone really powerful backing me up to clean your mess, not only our family business but the magical world as a whole. Even so, I want an unbreakable vow if we're going to be associates. Of course I'll explain why it's in your best interests to comply.
…
Getting out of this supposedly unbreakable prison with his objective and with another prisoner in tow was something Sebastian managed to do in less than five hours, not being spotted or otherwise retained. So he could have dinner right on time for Harry. His master really didn't eat if he didn't have company. Even with some technical problems to sort out: He had to bind and muzzle the deranged woman but the man came willingly enough. They were both settled in the manor just waiting for his lord and Cyril to come back from their meeting.
Reaching the first cell that reacted to the blood on the glass vial, Sebastian peered inside finding a woman with tangled and matted black, curly hair, pale and dressed in a stripped black and white oversized dress. She was the picture of a deranged person. The blood in the vial reacted strongly; she was definitely a relative of his master. Even if she wasn't Sirius Black, he made the decision to take her along. His master was adamant about filial duty.
She turned out to be feisty, resisting him with a viciousness he grudgingly respected, he was forced to knock her up and throw her over his shoulder like a potato sack back at the mansion.
He closed the door of the cell and walked along the hallway… there.
The blood even heated in the bottle. This was a closer relation.
But what on earth was a dog doing here? He scrunched up his nose in a gesture that would bring him nothing but mocking remarks by his lord and master. But he couldn't really help it. He hated dogs, cats were better!
The mutt straightened and looked at him with an awareness that no animal possessed. So… magical people still turned into animals, right.
The door to the cell opened without a hitch after Sebastian applied a little power to it.
The dog stepped back without making a sound and as soon as he laid eyes on the unconscious woman Sebastian had thrown over his shoulder… his whole cautious but passive attitude changed and the mutt actually jumped at him in order to get to the door… so Sebastian had to paralyze him.
_ It would be easier to communicate if you transform back on your human form. I mean you no harm. I actually have an offer for you, one I think you'd agree to.
Watching the transformation from dog to man was fascinating for the demon butler. The man sitting on the floor had black shoulder length hair and steel eyes.
_ Let´s hear it then. - He said.
_ Oh believe me, it's one hell of an offer.
