Last time on Sonic the Hedgehog, as Sonic and Tails explored the ancient ruins on West Island, the duo have a heart to heart regarding Sonic's past. With renewed vigor, the two set about heading to the Casino Night, the brightest city Sonic's come across so far.

It was nighttime on West Island as Sonic and Tails enter the gambling happy city of Casino Night. The sound of roulettes and jackpots ringing in their ears. Mobians everywhere seem to be having a good time at least.

Sonic: "Lights, flare, and lots of gambling. I swear this place must not get enough sleep. And if they do, they certainly have more tolerance than me."

Tails: "All this noise is making my head spin… Why do people gamble?"

Sonic: "Fortune mostly. Some do it for the thrill of luck."

Robotic Voice: "In most cases, good sir!"

The two heroes jump as they see a playboy robot walk up to them. Despite being mostly metal, she had an unusually attractive appearance. Sonic was honestly questioning just who she was impressing.

Sonic: "Uh… Hi… We're just here for a place to sleep. Know of any places?"

Playbot: "Oh of course, valued sir~ I just so happen to be on the clock to serve bed and supper to any passerbys. If you are looking for a place to sleep then I'll happily provide."

Tails: "Um, before that… What did you mean by 'most cases'?"

Sonic: "Tails… Let's not-"

Playbot: "Excellent question, cutie~ You see Casino Night was made to give people exciting entertainment and treat them like millionaires. In truth the funds they earn here has no monetary value outside the island, but it was still made to treat even the poor like kings! It is part of the give and give more policy our amazing mistress devised~"

Tails: "So… The money gained from gambling serves no purpose off the island, but gives people purpose while here? I… don't get it…"

Tails was getting dizzy just thinking about it. The playboy robot just giggles before offering a sample of their policy.

Playbot: "Then why not try it yourself? We're open 24/7 and some deserve more fun than most realize. Just relax and enjoy yourselves, dear sirs~"

Sonic: "...What do you think, Tails? You wanna try a game or two?"

Tails: "Is it even legal for kids to gamble?"

Playbot: "Don't think about it."

Tails and Sonic sigh before agreeing to play a couple of games. The robot bow and take the duo to the younger play area of the casino city.

Elsewhere in the city, a fist crashes down on the screen of the slot machine as an angry Bearanger growls out as he lost another game.

Bearanger: "Damn it all! I lost another jackpot! I thought these games were rigged to let you win!"

Carrotia and Falke Wulf were at a table, drinking what could be assumed to be some alcoholic beverages, judging by their loopiness.

Carrotia: "Ugh… Keep it, like, down, Bearanger. Like… Just… Shut up?"

Falke: "Yeah. Not the machine's fault it flips you off so much and you fall for it every time. You just need to wait for winter."

The duo just look at Falke as he laughs at his half hearted attempt at a joke. This only makes Bearanger angrier as he rips the slot machine off the ground and crushes it with his bare hands. A security robot comes in, pulling out a stun baton.

Security: "Kind sir. Please do not wreck the equipment or disturb the peace. Or else we will have to detain you."

Bearanger: "Grr… I'll detain you… Stupid tin…"

Bearanger grumbles as he sits with his mates, ordering something heavy, which he receives very quickly.

Bearanger: "I'm still angry over what happened at Emerald Hill! Seriously, some spiky guy just runs up and punches me in the gut! What'd I do?"

Carrotia: "I dunno… But like… You were un-bear-able~"

Bearanger: "Urgh… You've had one too many carrot juice to be making puns like that…"

Falke: "I don't blame ya, Beary. Those Jo Shmoes totally made us look like Shmo Joes!"

Carrotia looks at Falke before petting him behind his head… then slamming his head on the table, causing the table to shake from the force.

Carrotia: "Shaddup. Anyway, what's done is done. Nothin' we can, like, do about it."

Bearanger: "But I wanna beat that punk up so bad! My blood's just boiling for revenge!"

Carrotia: "Then that blood must've evaporated since you're, like, really dumb if you think you can just find him…"

Falke looks up and sees Sonic and Tails outside the window passing by with the playboy robot as their escort. He then giggles a bit.

Falke: "I spy something… blue!"

Bearanger & Carrotia: "SHUT UP!"

Bearanger: "Anyway, they can't be that hard to find! I just need to… uh…"

Carrotia: "Can you fly? Do you have some secret techy thing? Last I checked, both of those answers were, like… No."

Falke: "Okay okay! I got a new one! I spy something… spiky!"

Bearanger: "That's it!"

Bearanger grabs Falke and lifts him out of his seat as he raises a fist.

Bearanger: "Maybe I should turn you black and blue you stupid mother-"

Bearanger then sees Sonic and Tails, causing him to drop Falke.

Bearanger: "Well well. Look who I found."

Carrotia turns around and sees Sonic and Tails as well, smirking as Bearanger turns to her with a smirk of his own.

Carrotia: "Must be our lucky day after all. We get to have some fun."

Bearanger: "Yeah. Turn to make a little rat pay for what he did before."

Falke: "Marble sauce!"

Sonic and Tails continue to follow the robot, taking in the sights. Outside of the loud noises and sleepless patrons, the city wasn't too terrible. But then Sonic's senses flared up.

Tails: "Sonic? What's up?"

Sonic looks behind them and his eyes widen.

Sonic: "Get down!"

Sonic pushes Tails down as a table flies over them and hits a nearby wall, breaking on impact. Tails gulps as he sees the table smash, turning to see three familiar individuals approach.

Sonic: "Not you three again…"

Bearanger: "Been a while, blue butt! I hope you're ready for round two!"

Tails: "What are you three doing here!?"

Carrotia: "Aww… That's cute. He's really that curious about why a trio of cool guys and gal are at a city after some speedy hedgehog sent them flying. I'd be angrier, but like… That was sick."

Sonic: "Uh… Thanks?"

The playboy robot then gets between them, pointing a finger at Bearanger's face.

Playbot: "Cease this infidelity at this moment. Our mistress will not tolerate such behavior here. Especially not after the recent attack that did cause a panic today. You will not cause her any-"

Bearanger growls before grabbing the playboy robot by the head and lifted her off the ground.

Bearanger: "I am so sick and tired of everyone telling me what to do! I'm sick of today going wrong! I'M NO LONGER IN THE MOOD!"

Bearanger then grabbed the robot by her flailing legs before ripping her apart, effectively destroying her in such a brutal way. Even if she was just a robot, Sonic couldn't help but wince at the sight. But he quickly got angry as he stared at the large bear.

Tails: "Wh-What do we do, Sonic?"

Sonic: "These losers? We beat 'em down."

Bearanger's eyes started turning red as he let out an angry roar.

Carrotia: "Oh boy… Looks like Bearanger's out of control. When he's like this, nothing can really stop him. You guys are in for a beating."

Falke: "I wanna play with the foxy kid! I wanna see if one of his tails'll pop off!"

Tails held his tails close before Sonic looked at the big guy then at his smaller friend.

Sonic: "You got this. I'll handle big, fat, and fuzzy there."

Sonic gave a smirk to Tails, which seemed to calm the cub down before he stood defiantly against the rabbit and wolf. Sonic got down before getting ready.

Sonic: "Alright big guy. Just you and me. Let's go!"

Sonic rushed at Bearanger, stopping to bait an attack; the big bear slams a fist down towards the hedgehog, but Sonic dodges and retaliates with a kick to his face. Bearanger reels back from the kick, but roars angrily again before charging at Sonic. Carrotia looks at Tails before eying Falke.

Carrotia: "So… like… Who gets first dibs?"

Falke: "Hehe! Guess I'll get the lunch!"

Falke bears his teeth before lunging at Tails, but the fox cub dodges him by flying over him, causing him to hit a wall. Carrotia just face palms before sighing.

Carrotia: "Why'd I bother asking…?"

Carrotia then smiles before pulling out carrots, which she then tossed in Tails' direction. He stares at these carrots for a moment before they explode in his face, blinding him for a second.

Tails: "Ah! Carrot bombs!?"

Carrotia: "That's right, cutie~ And that's not the only surprise."

Falke, who had gotten back up, came in from behind Tails and slams a spiky ball on the kid's head, knocking the cub back to the ground with a bleeding head.

Tails: "You two… You're playing dirty!"

Carrotia: "Oh quit complaining. Nothing in life is ever clean."

Sonic sees Tails struggling a bit, but quickly returns attention to Bearanger, who tries to grab at him. If what happened to the robot earlier was any indication, a blue hedgehog would not fare any better being grabbed by the bear. He jumped over more of Bearanger's attacks, baiting him towards his comrades.

Sonic: "Hey, Winnie the Pooh! Maybe you should lay off the honey! You'd catch me if you did!"

Bearanger roars out as he charges at Sonic, which the latter dodges out of the way of. Bearanger instead rushes at Falke, grabbing him and slamming into the wall. Carrotia stunned by this, but she quickly tosses some of her carrot bombs at Tails. Tails quickly jumps to the side, causing the carrot bombs to explode on Bearanger instead.

Carrotia: "Oops…"

Sonic: "Yeah. 'Oops' to you too."

Sonic then Spin Dashes at Carrotia, pushing her onto Bearanger's back as he pushes himself out of the wall and onto his back, flattening the rabbit. Tails sighs as Sonic approaches him.

Sonic: "Hey, you okay?"

Tails: "Head hurts, but… I'll live."

The two share a light chuckle. But this quickly goes away as spotlights shine on both of them and on the bullying trio.

Security: "Stop in the name of the law! You are in direct violation of the rules set! Disturbing the peace, destroying equipment, killing personnel, and starting a street brawl!"

Sonic: "Oh that's not good…"

Bearanger, still in his frenzy, stands up and roars out, but then a robotic monkey just slightly taller than Sonic himself, lands in front of him and punches him in the gut… multiple times… Bearanger was effectively knocked out after that. The monkey then turned to the hero duo with glowing eyes.

Robot Monkey: "You two are under arrest."

Sonic and Tails could do nothing as they raised their hands in surrender, getting handcuffed by security as they are put into a vehicle separate from the trio they fought. Sonic could only curse himself for this turn, since he and Tails could've easily outran the jokers. But now, he could only ask… What was next?

Within a lab, the woman from before stared at the screen which had security footage of the recent street brawl on it. She raised her head off her hands before standing up.

Woman: "Better get ready to greet our newest guests. After all… They made the trip just to see me…"

The woman steps over to look at a couple of sleeping patients, bandages on the subjects from a recent fight they had. The patients in question - Sally Acorn and Rosie Woodchuck, both still alive and well. The woman then left the lab, ready to greet her other guests.
