Chapter 30: The battle comes to a close
"Damn if Mitch doesn't hurry he's going to get consumed" Ichigo said as the hollow slowly got to his feet the white skin nearly spread across his entire body. Extending out his hand a black energy began to swirl within his palm "Oh crap a cero" leaping back Ichigo raked his hand down across his face forming his vizard mask just as the cero blast was unleashed in all its devastating force.
Ichigo stood his ground as the cero blast slammed into Zangetsu and slowly began to force him back. Black reiatsu began to pour out around his body as he started to walk forward pushing the blast back towards the hollow "I won't be beaten!" The hollow feeling the struggle turning back against him forced more reiatsu into his attack as Ichigo started to be slowly pushed back again "Hurry up Mitch I won't be able to hold this blast back forever".
Inside his world Mitch had nearly finished charging up his energy as the spiraling reiatsu of fire and ice were centimeters from reaching the tip of his blade. "I'll stop you before that technique can be finished!" Ashura roared as he fired a bala blast from his fist as it crashed into Mitch. Not stopping the onslaught Ashura kept firing the blasts off one by one until he finally paused to let the smoke clear only to find a fiery wall surrounding his body. "Did you forget about my firewall ability?" Mitch grinned as the spiral of energy reached the tip of his blade and erupted in a huge explosion as the fire soared off into the air and the ice burst into the ground below.
The dark reiatsu then began to flow into his body as Ashura waited for this new so-called ability to attack him. "Judgment fire and ice lay waste to the earth" Mitch roared out as Ashura was pointed high into the sky as it began to glow a bright red colour before huge fireballs began to rain down from the very heavens themselves.
"What the fuck is this!" Ashura growled as the fireballs slammed into the ground causing it to be set ablaze. Ducking and weaving past most a few stray fireballs crashed into Ashura as he was thrown violently to the ground where Mitch immediately slammed Ashura into the earth as it began to glow a bright blue colour. "Grrr now what" Ashura watched as a huge pillar of ice erupted an inch away from him, jumping to his feet he watched as more began to emerge from the ground.
Pushing up off the ground he tried to leap into the air in hopes of avoiding being encased in ice only for a fireball to slam into him knocking him back into the ground just as a pillar of ice encased him. Before he could even attempt to break free another fireball slammed into his icy prison causing him to instantly disintegrate while his voice echoed around the world "Curse you King I'll be back it's just a matter of time". The second Ashura was gone Mitch dropped to the floor unconscious from the amount of reiatsu he expended as his body was thrown out of his spirit world and back into his original body.
Meanwhile in the outside world the cero blast that Ichigo was holding off dispensed suddenly as the hollow just stared at Ichigo blankly. Two gashes appeared on his chest as blood erupted before he roared out in pain while the skin on his body slowly began to peel off and fall to the ground until just his mask was left. "I guess he managed to pull it off" Ichigo said as he ran forward and caught the unmoving body of Mitch. "Tessai go and fetch him a bed I think he'll be needing plenty of rest after this" Urahara called out as Tessai disappeared up the ladder with Ichigo following closely behind with Mitch slung over his shoulder. Auron, Shinji and Yoruichi followed closely behind as Shinji sighed "Let's hope he manages to keep that pesky hollowed subdued for a longer period this time I'm not up for facing that creature again".
