Where to begin? Normally I would post this gaming leak on my Twitter account, but for personal reasons I can't do that at the moment. I haven't been able to look over my feed for a year, actually. So I'm posting the leak here. I'm serious when I say that I had nowhere else to go, and I just want someone to prove or disprove the leak at this point... This 4chan leak has been circulating for a very long time, (I saw it at the time when I'm pretty sure it was posted for the first time, called it fake, and was genuinely shocked when I saw it again and again, and again, which made me think there's something to this one) The leak refuses to die, (as I'm posting this, someone posted it earlier this week) and as far as I can tell no one notable is talking about it. It's Switch 2 3D Mario related. Without further ado... Let's-A-Go!

I've heard multiple names floating around 4chan for this new Mario game, and every time I've seen it mentioned, the details are shockingly similar. I can't tell if it's one person talking about this new Mario game or multiple people. I've heard it called "Super Mario World", but the names I hear most often are "Super Mario Hit and Run" and "Mario GTA." I also see the new Nintendo system, the one we've all called "Switch 2", referenced as the "Super Switch" in several of these posts. The idea for this apparent new Mario game is a little bit complicated, but I think I've come up with a way to explain the concept.

The Nintendo Switch system menu is pretty barebones, in my opinion. Apparently, the hook of this new Mario game is, "What if the new 3D Mario game IS the system menu?" For the record, that's just how I would describe it. From this point forward I will be quoting from multiple separate posts I have seen over the course of the last several months. It's been referred to as, and this is the exact wording from a post back in July 2023, "It's their hub world game that houses all the releases they will feature on the new switch. It'll be a rip off of GTA Online and Simpson's Hit and Run. Steal a car and drive over the Mario Kart arena after you've purchased it for 50 bucks. Drive to Wario Ware Inc building to play the new Wario game. Kirby and Yoshi games could require a plane or boat trip, or if they are themed you go to the movie theater or golf course or whatever would fit the new game's aesthetic. If you don't understand, the GTA clone functions as the operating system you use to interact with the system. Simpson's hit and run with countless bits of Nintendo mechanics/world building."

I don't think Nintendo has ever done a live service game on the scale of what 4chan is describing... it's crazy. Apparently the guns will use Splatoon physics, to the point where the Splatoon team is taking "several years off", according to a post from October. And apparently so is the Mario Kart team. The reason is that "they are all working on this game." If you're familiar with Burnout Paradise, that game's city literally had a event on every street corner, and Mario Hit and Run will use that idea. There will be special Speedways you have to purchase for a more tradional game some time down the line, or so I've heard. Apparently, "there will be tons of free demos to monetized content. Want in on this season of Mario Kart events? 20 bucks please." (The dollar symbol isn't showing up for some reason as I'm getting ready to post this, so I slightly edited the quote.)

Recently a separate Switch 2 rumor was floating around Discord that stated Nintendo has a November fallback date for the release of the new system. It didn't really make sense why. And then it hit me. Nintendo would be prepared for the hypothetical scenario where this Mario hub world needs more time before release, because if you really do boot into this game upon powering on the system, then it would HAVE to be ready for launch day. Just for the sake of me trying to cover all my bases, There's a Nintendo leaker, and I genuinely don't know if he is or isn't legitimate. He's called Zippo, and he has said in a blog post regarding regarding the new 3D Mario, "Lastly, this will be THE GAME for Nintendo next year. Mario will be a day one Switch 2 game, and I would bet serious amounts of money that this will be the very first game that we will see running on their shiny new system." The Mario game he's calling THE GAME could very well be this. He's also saying it's open world, and we're talking about a GTA clone here... Just putting it out there as a possibility.

According to another 4chan post, "Games will release over time in world. So let's say Smash is releasing (1v1 in stadiums like Mario movie fight). The lead up to the release sees a crew of toad workers building a stadium. On release, the in game crew has finished their building and you can now enter and play the game." Apparently there's a feature referred to as "Mario Life". The way it was described in one post was, "Your in game Mario phone has an itinerary. Maybe you golf with Luigi on the weekends. A few career options available beside plumbing, maybe work as Dr Mario and have a daily task for that. In the end, you create a 30-hour daily activity list for a week and just live Mario's life."

Other apparent details are that you can use the Super Switch camera to "FaceTime" Mario, who has a few prerecorded responses and gets a powerup, Smash Bros is taking inspiration from the Mario vs. DK fight in the movie, to the point where one post of this leak says this project takes place "after" the movie, and that "a giant self contained world exists in New Donk City akin to Central Park. Like a Dr. Who elevator, it's bigger on the inside when you go in." (That last detail I've only seen in one post, for what it's worth.) Another area is a Bowser airship, described in one post as a "moving sky island". If you know you know. Also, you can sit in the Smash arena stands to spectate matches and tournaments, and you can go to the arcade building to play a bunch of old Nintendo games. For a real life quarter per play. I don't even know if the original post is joking about what I'm assuming is going to be another take on Virtual Console. If this leak, which I have put together from combining multiple separate posts, is fake, I have to hand it to 4chan, because this is a lot of effort. There's really not much else to say, and I wanted to put this out there. Just in case. I'm hoping some of the big Switch YouTubers will see this and comment/make a video. It keeps popping up... for some reason.
