Chapter 1: The Tale of Jolnir:
Jolnir's POV:
I'm going to tell you a story that happened a long time ago. In the land of Alfheim, the Frost Giants were invading, and the Light Elves had to defend themselves. A giant named Thorroff kidnapped Shelara. He took her to Jotunheim. He was going to use her as a hostage, but instead, the two fell in love and when that happened, they had two kids. The first born was Frode, and the next was me. I am Jolnir! My brother and I are half-light elf and half-frost giant! When I was born, we had a visitor, a shapeshifting pixie named Wisk. He showed them his impression of an evil creature called an Awgwa.
. . .
"Jolnir, you okay," asks Frode.
"I was just thinking," I said, "I know nothing of the other realms."
"I'm sure they're not that big a deal," says Frode.
"Still, I would like to see them," I said.
"Hey, what are you guys talking about," asks Wisk.
"Jolnir wants to visit the other realms," says Frode.
"As long as you stay away from Midgard," says Wisk.
"What's in Midgard," I asked.
"Weird stuff," says Whisk, "they have way too many problems."
. . .
One thing Light Elves like to do is make toys. They were the first toymaker to the King.
Light Elves: It's a difficult responsibility
When you can accept an appointment from His Majesty
You must strive for just the perfect quality
When you're the first toymaker to the king
All the soldiers must stand erect
For the kingdom they protect
The balls must bounce much higher
If they're to please his royal sire
The ballerinas must pirouette
Upon their musical toes
And the clowns must make a king forget
All his kingly woes
All the sailboats must never sink
And the dollies always wink
The teddy bears be furry
If they're to gain his royal curry
The jack-in-boxes must always pop
At every regal command
And the kangaroos must learn to hop
Into the prince's hand!
But they have not delivered the toys in a long time. One day, I hope to deliver the toys to the other realms.
. . .
I then had a dream where I was seeing Midgard and I saw how they were doing. The less fortunate were doing poorly, while the rich just ignored them. This dream was showing me what I must do!
To Be Continued
