Song: Can you see

As they were talking a small camel made his way toward them. He wasn't much of a presence but as soon as Nestor saw him he smiled in greeting. Jack noticed the reaction and turned to see the small shaggy animal.
"Hello there." The little camel said.
"Hi," Jack greeted.
"This is the littlest camel. He is the spirit of the story of one of the camels that carried the Magi's supplies on their journey." Nestor explained.
"Really! Can you tell me your story? What was the journey like" Jack asked.
(1) "Long! Traveling across many countries. Through deserts and mountain passes. I didn't understand a lot of what was going on." The littlest camel told them. "I overheard talk about going to see a king and had imagenings of what that would mean but all I knew for sure was we were following a star to get there."
Again the star shown in the night sky landed on the donkey and camel, who then looked up joyfully at it.
"Can you see? Tell me, can you see the star?" The littlest camel sang out, catching everyone's attention and turning it to the sky.
Jasper climbed onto Jack's shoulders and settled there as he looked up and marveled alongside the winter spirit at what was happening.
"Shine for you and me. It lights the way from where we are."
No one could take their eyes off the show above them but the littlest camel's story still was easily heard. "A leap of faith on a promise. There is no army, no mountain can stop up. We kept going, being led through the dark as well as the day. No obstacle, not even a deceptive and conniving ruler, deterred our journey. Can you see?"
The stars around the bright one flashed as they seemed to echo the words of the littlest camel. "Can you see?"
"The son of God the great I am!" Proclaimed the littlest camel.
"Great I am" Flashed the stars.
"'Meet the king of kings, come and follow me' the star seemed to say as we got closer and closer. But when we arrived I was even more confused. Instead of a grand palace and nice stables, Sweet hay, and oats, we were in a small, almost too small, town with a cave carved for a stable and hay that tasted like nothing special. I was disappointed! That was until I got a closer look at the baby. I waited all my life to feel this feeling that I feel right now. Open up your eyes and see the world is brighter now!"
The stars started to spin around the bright one, almost like a speed time video of the night sky that scientists have mapped of the turning of the planet. Then if you looked close you could make out a face smiling in the stars.
"Tell me can you see?" The littlest camel asked.
"Can you see?" flashed the stars. "Can you see it, see it?"
"Tell me, can you see the star?"
"Can you see it, see it?"
"Tell me, can you see the star?"
"Can you see it, see it?"
"King of kings, lord of lords! Tell me, can you see the star?"
The spinning of the cosmos slowed and then stopped back where it was originally. The face was no longer visible to the naked eye but the feeling of being in the loving sight of the one that had done that amazing display was still on everyone's hearts.
The Littlest Camel is from a children's short movie from the 1950s called When the Littlest Camel Knelt.
Happy second Sunday of Advent. May Peace fill your week!
