Chapter seven:
Haruhi feels glad that last night her father wasn't drunk enough to be crying at her feet. She heads to school by herself wondering what today will bring. She arrives only to jump with a squeak of alarm as Tamaki seems to appear out of nowhere.
"We have a special meeting today!" Tamaki announces as he leaps out. He pauses looking at the slightly frazzled Haruhi. "Oh. Sorry about scaring you." He apologizes giving a charming smile that would make many girls fall for him... Just not Haruhi... "Anyways. I wanted to just let you know that we are having a meeting at the club time."
Haruhi lets out a quiet breath fixing herself up. "Alright. Sounds good. Thank you for letting me know." She heads around the blonde going to try to get to class early to ensure she won't be late.
"Oh. And Haruhi?" Tamaki speaks up causing Haruhi to pause and turn to look over her shoulder at him. "Now that you're a part of our club you'll have more eyes on you. Try to keep a good impression of our club. Okay, thanks! See you later!" He hurries off practically prancing away.
Haruhi lets out a breath before turning back to continue one her way. She silently tells herself that she can do this. She heads for her class finding that eyes are indeed on her mainly with the women watching her with interest. She tries to ignore it though she does try to smile to keep up good impressions. She gets to her class and sits down after setting her stuff down. She really isn't used to all of this attention on her. She kind of wishes that she didn't have to deal with all of this. She just wants to get through her schooling with good grades. She turns as a shy looking girl who approaches her.
"Haruhi right?" The girl asks slightly blushing.
"Yes that's right. How can I help you this wonderful morning?" Haruhi sees the blush slightly darken on the girls face.
"Oh." The girl slightly twirls a strand of her hair nervously. "My name is Hana. I was just kind of hoping that perhaps you could join me and some friends after the club hours? We can drive you home if you want."
Haruhi is a little surprised at first before managing to shake it off. "Sorry. I'm just a bit busy. I want to make a nice dinner before my dad gets home from work." She finds her response gets bright interested eyes as if she is fascinating.
"You make dinner for your father? It sounds so weird to do that instead of having a servant doing it." Hana admits before smiling warmly. "It's so kind of you to take care of your father. Maybe another time we can find time to hang out then."
Haruhi feels like the next words from her mouth are going to be cheesy. She just really needs to keep on the clubs good side for right now. "It's a date then. We can figure out a better time for it at some point when we both have time."
Hana's face goes bright red. She nods before hurrying back over to her friends.
Haruhi lets out a silent breath and turns to her notebook studying her notes. She is just glad that the interaction is done with. She is now wondering just what she signed up for joining this club. She didn't think that she'd have to keep things up even outside of the club room.
After classes are done for the day...
The host club have all gathered in the club room for the very important meeting.
"We have found the next heist for our group!" Tamaki announces making everyone curious about this next location. "We will be hitting the West Point Mall."
Haruhi blinks thinking that it's a bit anticlimactic. "Why there? Surely there's nothing too valuable there."
"I believe you are missing the point." Kyouya mentions gaining Haruhis attention as he adjusts his glasses on his face. His eyes still hidden by the glare on his glasses lenses. "If we continuously go after big things then it could cause too much commotion. Making it much harder for the next big heist."
Haruhi supposes that does make sense. "I understand. So we hit spots with less valuable stuff. Get some attention away from the bigger heist. As well as a bit of a break from doing big heists, that draw more attention especially with the whole school doing heists, and wait for the right time to be able to go after more expensive things." She supposes that this school can help her in more ways than she thought. She's truly getting into the minds of criminals, more so the thieves than any other criminal but she will count it. She is now glad for this extra help in looking into ways that things can possibly go. She thinks that all of this could be useful someday in court.
"Exactly." Kyouya confirms with a pleased hum.
Tamaki clears his throat gaining everyone's attention once more. "This will be more of a free for all type heist. Grab whatever you desire." He claps his hands together. "Me and our dear mommy are putting together the information on the cameras locations and everything. So in a few days time we will be preparing to hit the mall."
Haruhi hopes that the days pass by rather quickly.
Later...
Haruhi is at home making some supper for herself and her father. She has the radio on mostly as background noise.
"Police continue to investigate a hit on a place that held many valuable items. Including one of the items stolen being a painted marble egg. The items owner that had donated it to the place is hoping to be able to get the item back. Even offering money for the thieves to return the item."
Haruhi shuts the radio off before letting out a breath. "It's all for your future career Haruhi." She whispers to herself before turning as her overly happy father announces that he has returned. She greets him calmly as she turns back to dinner. She hardly listens as he talks all about the day he had sounding quite happy. She is aware how hard her father works to be able to afford this place and be able to allow Haruhi to buy food. So she can at least let him chat her ear off while she makes dinner.
