Chapter 5: Oh No, Again
The sun rises and shines over Royals Woods, everyone in the Loud house begins to rise as the loud parents leave the house. Lynn Sr buckles his youngest daughter into her baby seat in Vanzilla as Rita starts the unreliable engine, "Another day, another dollar." Says Lynn Sr as he sits on the passenger seat with his chef hat in hand, Rita adjusts her rear view mirror. "Another day of cigarette and beer breath for me." The mother pulls the decrepit van out of the driveway as her husband smirks at her, "Not everyone can always have minty breath like Lynngaf." Rita smiles but restrains her want to entertain her husband, "Let's not do bedroom talk with the baby here." Lynn Sr looks back at the blonde toddler, "Its not like she understands." Lily immediately throws her hands up and shouts, "LYNNGAF!"
The parents are already on the road approaching Baby Bunker Preschool, Lynn Sr unbuckles his seatbelt and bring Lily into the preschool while Rita waves Lily off and blows her kisses from the driver's seat. "Bye, Mommy." Waves back the toddler.
After a few minutes Lynn Sr returns and takes his seat in the van, "Let's go, I smelled Lily's mess for Dr. Scuttleworth. Go before she asks us to clean it."
On their way to Lynn's Table, Rita asks her husband, "Sweetie, do you ever wonder what the kids might be doing while we're at work all day?" The Father taps his chin as he thinks, "Without having to worry about homework and getting sleep in, I think they're probably living their best lives right now."
The morning sun creeps through the window and wakes the loud sister on the top bunk bed, Luna sits up and stretches her arms. The musician tries to rub the sleep from her eyes but a wad of fabric in her hand hits her face, "What the hell is-" Luna sees her little brother's underwear in her hands, she yanks the blanket off her legs and sees she's completely bottomless. Luna's eyes start to water as the weight and memory's of last night start to flood her, her hands shake while her body is assaulted with guilt. "I don't deserve to live."
After getting dressed, Luna makes her way downstairs with her head hung low. She reaches the adult table and her sister's are already seated and having breakfast, Luan pulls Luna's seat back and pats it for her. "Good morning, Luna. Dad made us French toast before he left to work, come get it before it gets friode." The musician remains silent as she takes her seat and forces herself through another breakfast, the older Loud sisters were all in their own worlds this morning. Lori and Leni were discussing something about going to the mall, Luna only felt guilt and unbearable disappointment in herself, Luan wore a smug look as she glances at her sporty younger sister.
Lynn chews on her French toast angrily as if it was concrete, her eyes furrow as she glares at Luan. The athlete plans on talking to Luan and giving her a piece of her mind about recommending Jean-Juan's French-Mex Buffet right after Breakfast.
Over at the kid's table, Lincoln chews
away absentmindedly on his French toast. The Loud boy catches Lucy staring at him again, he side eyes her and swallows his French Toast. "You've been chewing on that for while now." Informs Lucy, Lincoln looks at the rest of his younger sisters and they're all looking at him. Lisa adjusts her glasses, "I counted 91 chews, well above the average of 32 chews per bite of food." Lola squints her eyes and asks the genius with slight disgust, "What the Hell is wrong with you?"
Lucy hands Lincoln his glass of milk, "Something on your mind?" The boy nods as he downs his glass, Lucy nods as she understands what could be on his mind. "I understand that burden you carry and I do not wish that on my worst enemies. If you must discuss your trouble, I'll always be around listening to everything." Lana, Lola, and Lisa stare at Lucy, Lincoln just puts his hand on her shoulder, "Yeah, or we could just talk face to
face or something."
Luan finishes her breakfast first and goes to leave her plate in the sink, Lynn follows not to shorty behind the comedian. Passing the kids table the two sisters leave their dishes and both girls wave at Lincoln on their way back, Lana waves but is saddened to be ignored by Lynn and Luan. Lincoln tries to wave but the sisters leave in a hurry off out of the kitchen.
Lynn follows Luan up the stairs as the comedian purposefully increases her speed, "Luan, Wait!" The comedian stops in her tracks and turns to face the athlete in the hallway, "Hey, Lynn. Sorry I don't have time to chat, I have to go to work at a kid's birthday party today. Whatever it is you wanna talk about I'm sure that dismal darling you share a room with would love to hear it." Lynn opens her mouth to speak but Luan turns slams her door closed between her and Lynn, the athlete shakes the lock knob and groans. "Luan! Luan! " The athlete kicks the door before she gives up and leaves to the bathroom to brush her teeth. "Bucktooth Beaver."
Downstairs the adult table is empty except for Luna, the musician was deep in her repentance to notice her sister's leave her alone. Thankfully for Luna no one was around to see her eye bags and shaking hands, she had enough and picked up her empty plate to take to the kitchen sink. Luna notices the kids table still holding her younger siblings, "Luna, Mom and Dad wanted me to remind you that it's your day to clean the dishes." Lola reminds Luna as she practically drags her feet to the sink, "Sure thing, Sis."
The younger sisters all leave their plates on the table and make their way off out the kitchen, Lincoln stacks his little sister's dishes and balances them on his hands as he stands up. Luna begins rinsing her first plate as Lincoln places the stack by the sink, "Sorry, Luna." The boy innocently apologizes for inconveniencing his older sister with more dishes, he leaves out of the kitchen while Luna tries to contain her sorrow. Alone the musician has tears fall down her face, "No, Lincoln. I'm sorry."
Lincoln enters his room and gets a call from Clyde on his phone, Lincoln's spirit rises as he answers his best friend's call. "What up, Ace?" Clyde's voice brings joy to the Loud boy, "Lincoln, I've been trying to call you but my Dad's and I haven't had cell signal most of the road trip. How's my buddy doing?" Lincoln sits on his bed and rubs his eyes, "It's going, the usual chaos in the Loud House. What about you, how's the road trip been?" The McBride boy can be heard jumping ecstatically, "It's been great, I wish you could've joined us. We're at the Grand Canyon right now and it's huge!" Lincoln misses his best friend and envy's his joy, "That's great, Clyde. I would give anything to be with your family right now."
Clyde's excitement is almost infectious as he asks Lincoln, "Me too, Buddy! While I have you, do you want anything from the gift shop. I found a rock with Lori's name but I think I could find a rock with your name on it if I look hard enough." Lincoln couldn't help but grin from the simple offer, "I'd love a rock, Clyde. I'm sure Lori would too." Lincoln's phone chimes as he receives a text, Clyde hears it and asks about it. "Somebody text you?" The Loud boy opens the message and sees girlfriend's name, "Yeah, I just got a text from Ronnie Anne."
Clyde whistles into the phone, "Is she asking what you're wearing?" Lincoln chuckles with his friend, "Shut up, Dude. She's just asking if I wanna hangout with her in an hour." The McBride boy makes smooching noises in his phone, "I better leave you to it then, Lincoln Loud needs to pre-game. I'll text you when we get service again." Lincoln sighs as he has to stop talking to his best friend, "Sure thing, Clyde. Enjoy your trip." Clyde bids his farewell, "See ya before school starts, Lincoln."
Clyde hangs up and leaves Lincoln to stare at the reflection of his own phone, the boy turns his phone on and reply's to his girlfriend. "Sure thing, I'll be at your house in an hour." Lincoln sits on his bed and looks at the time on his phone, "I guess I have about forty minutes to waste before I start to head out."
Lincoln steps into the hallway and stops in front of Lynn and Lucy's room, "Maybe I could spend time with Lucy and Lynn after Ronnie Anne. Rather than just cutting it short in forty minutes." The boy goes downstairs and finds the twins sitting on the couch watching Blarney, "Well, shoot. That's another thing I wanted to do." Lincoln then goes into the kitchen, he finds that Luna is done with cleaning the dishes and he also finds a chocolate chip muffin on the counter. "My luck is starting to turn."
Lincoln sits on the porch steps while he munches on his muffin as he waits around and watches videos on his phone. The boys laughs with the remaining pieces of muffin in his mouth, Lincoln wipes the crumbs off his mouth with the muffin liner. Lincoln's ears pick up acoustic guitar coming from beside the house, he balls up his trash and puts it in his pocket as he stands to follow the music. Lincoln reaches the source of music and hears it coming from the garage, the boys peeks into the dusty window and finds Luna sitting on a wooden stool in the center.
Luna sits with her head down, unaware of Lincoln's presence. Lincoln recognizes the song Luna is playing, it's the Johnny Cash cover of Hurt. The musician doesn't bother to sing along with the notes she's strumming out, instead she allows the somber tone to speak for her.
Luna plays this song as if it was her last, Lincoln is amazed as he listens to the absolute self hatred coming from his sister. The song has a build up to it, Luna doesn't miss a thing even with her eyes closed. Lincoln can see Luna's lips start to move and he can even hear her whispering the last few lyrics.
"What have I become, My sweetest friend.
Everyone I know goes away, In the end.
And you could have it all, My empire of dirt.
I will let you down, I will make you hurt.
If I could start again, A million miles away.
I would keep myself, I would find a way."
Luna finally stops playing, having plucked the last string. Her face disappears into her palms, letting her guitar hang by its strap. The sorrowful sister is too preoccupied by her emotions to notice her brother approaching her, he surprises his sister with a gentle hug. The tears pause momentarily as Lincoln attempts to comfort his sister, unfortunately the exact opposite was achieved by his embrace. Luna's cries only worsen as she hugs her brother back, leading to Lincoln tightening his arms even more.
"What's wrong?" Asks Lincoln, Luna just nods her head while clenching her eyes shut. The older sister is aware that saying she's sad over nothing won't work, Luna tries to think of something as her brother asks. "Luna, what's bothering you and keeping you in the garage?" Luna composes herself to the best of her abilities and give Lincoln half the truth, "A couple months ago in February when we all gave out Valentine's Day cards, I gave mine to Sam."
Lincoln heard Luna's voice tremble saying that name, he already figures the outcome of her confession. Luna wipes the tears from her eyes, "She never said anything back, I took the hint." Lincoln returns his arms around Luna, "She's missing out… I had this conversation with Lynn already and… is there someone in particular you like besides Sam?" Luna looks at Lincoln with sadness and red eyes at her little brother, she stands up and Lincoln accidentally lets go of her. "No, Just… Go, Please. I should be alone."
Lincoln feels hurt and wishes to continue talking to his sister, he pulls his phone out and sees the time for him start heading to Ronnie Anne's house is now. Lincoln walks to the garage door, "I miss you, Luna." The boy closes the door behind him and leaves Luna with a burden of guilt, she takes a deep breath and a cries uncontrollably Into her hands.
Lincoln passes by the front yard and sees Lynn and Lucy sitting on the porch steps with the athlete holding Lily on her lap, the three sisters see Lincoln walking and wave at him. Lucy asks her older brother, "Where are you off to?" Lincoln points with his thumb, "I'm going to Ronnie Anne's house for a bit."
Lily parrots the name of her brother's girlfriend, "Wonnie Anne." Lynn does her best to hide the pain that name brings, "T-That's right, Lily. Have fun… Stinkoln." Lincoln feels bad as he sees through Lynn's forced smile, "I'll be back before Dinner, for reals this time." He waves off this sisters and makes his way to Ronnie Anne's house.
Luan sits alone in her room rewatching her footage of Luna on her phone, she watches as Luna holds Lincoln's underwear close to her chest. The comedian sits up as an intrusive thought hits her, she stands on her bottom bed and looks over Luna's top bunk. There it is, Luan spots the red fabric sticking out from under Luna's pillow, her eyes look side to side as if anyone would be in her room. The comedian slowly reaches out and grabs the underwear, with both hands she spreads it in front of her face.
Luan's eyes scan the room a second time as she thinks about her little brother wearing these and only these, she drops her body onto her bottom bed and holds the undergarment down on her face. "It taste just like I dreamt it would." Luan hears her door knob shaking and slide the underwear under her own pillow, Lisa walks in to her room with a request, "Older sibling, I must acquire your surveillance footage of the vicinity and our kin."
Luan snaps her fingers at the overly intelligent four year old, "English!" Lisa adjusts her round glasses. "I need access to your camera footage." Luan stands to her feet and gets a disturbing idea, "Sure thing, specs. But it's not gonna be free, I'm willing to trade my footage." The young genius looks up at the comedian, "What do you have in mind?" Luan grins from ear to ear as she bends down towards Lisa, "Do you have DNA samples from Lincoln?"
Lincoln knocks on the door to Ronnie Anne's house, while he waits for her he adjust his hair and tries to matte down his cowlick. Ronnie Anne yanks the door open and jumps onto him, "Hey, Lincoln!" The boy nearly falls back onto the cement but balances himself with Ronnie Anne in his arms, "Hey, Ronnie Anne. What's the plan for today?" The Santiago girl takes Lincoln's hand and leads him inside her house, "I was thinking we could play some videos games and maybe I could show you something."
Lincoln wonders to himself, "Show me Something?" He keeps his question to himself since it seems like a surprise. In her room, Lincoln sits on her bed while Ronnie Anne throws a game controller in his hands, "I learned a new combo in Super Mega Brawlers Turbo Fighters XXV." Lincoln grabs the second controller, "Good luck trying to use it on me, I won't even give you a chance to land one attack."
Lucy looks over and asks Lynn with Lily sitting on her lap, "Have you thought about your next steps? How do wish to proceed with your desires?" The athlete and toddler watch as a butterfly flutters across the front yard slowly, "Don't say it like I have an incurable disease, but I have been thinking." The butterfly approached Lucy and lands on her knee, Lily giggles as the butterfly crawls around her older sister's thigh. Lynn continues, "I think I'm gonna have to learn to live with these feelings, I don't think I'll ever get over them."
Lucy slowly puts her hand on her leg for the butterfly, it climbs on and the goth presents the creature to Lily. The toddler's eyes are glued to the orange wings as Lucy speaks to Lynn, "You're speaking as if you have an incurable disease." Lynn sighs at the realization, "Yeah, I guess. It's incurable but I don't think I would want to cure it." Lucy looks over at Lynn with a tilt to her head, Lynn proceeds to ignore the topic and watches the butterfly on Lucy's hand with Lily.
"Yes! I still own you, wanna play again?" Asks Ronnie Anne after beating Lincoln in the game. Lincoln puts the controller down on the bed, "Maybe Later, I was actually wondering if you want to go out and do something." Ronnie Anne rests her controller beside her, "Actually… I was hoping we could just spend the day her in my house." Lincoln doesn't mind and asks his girlfriend, "We could do that, just wondering where's everyone else?"
Ronnie Anne clears her throat and looks away from Lincoln, "Well, Mom is pulling a double today at the hospital and Bobby just got a new job as a Limo Driver. We have the house to ourselves and no one can bother us, You know what that means?" The girl looks at Lincoln with a sly look in her eyes, It's seemingly clicks in Lincoln's head as he looks at her the same way.
Lincoln takes Ronnie Anne's hand and steps off the bed, the girls eyes look at him with confusion. "We can eat that yummy sweet bread you guys have without worrying about the mess." Ronnie Anne's face drops with disappointment, "Sure, I was totally suggesting that." Both kids get up and the Santiago girl leads her boyfriend to the kitchen.
Lincoln sits at the dinner table as Ronnie Anne drops a pink cardboard box and glass of milk in front of him, "What color do you want? Orange, White, Pink or Brown?" The boy in orange snags the orange beard, "I'll take this one." Ronnie Anne kisses his cheek while grabbing her own pink bread, "Of course you would." The boy takes a bite and with his mouth full asks, "What is this bread called again?" Ronnie Anne chuckles and pushes up on Lincoln's chin to keep his mouth shut, "Don't talk with your mouth full, It's called a concha. It means conch, like a seashell."
Lincoln swallows his food and examines the small loaf he bit, the sweet colored pattern does resemble a seashell, "I never noticed how it kinda sorta looks like a seashell." The Santiago girl wipes the crumps from her boyfriend's bottom lip with her thumb, "Just finish the bread so we can go back to my room." The boy nods and downs some milk with his next few bites.
After the quick snack, Lincoln wipes up the crumbs and Ronnie Anne puts the pink box away where she had it. Lincoln and Ronnie Anne return to her room, the boy stands by the bed and asks, "Do you wanna keep playing?" Ronnie Anne closes the door behind her, "Lincoln, you still have colored sugar on your face." The boy wipes his mouth with his forearm and looks at his girlfriend for assurance, "Did I get it?"
Ronnie Anne closes in on Lincoln and nearly touches her nose to his, "It's right here." The girl pulls her boyfriend in for a kiss and wraps her arms around his neck, his eyes go wide as Ronnie Anne pushes him back onto her bed.
Ronnie Anne sits on Lincoln's lap with lust in her eyes, "I love you, Lincoln." The boy looks up at his girlfriend's red cheeks and takes her hands, "I-I love you too, Ronnie Anne. Are you sure you wanna do this?" The girl lowers to whisper in his ear, "I'm absolutely positive, I want you." Ronnie Anne watches as Lincoln's arms get goosebumps, and she feels him shiver under her, she knew this was Lincoln's first experience sexually and it was apparent.
Ronnie Anne leans down again and plants a long deep kiss on Lincoln's mouth as she guides his hands toward the back of her Jean shorts, Lincoln's hands explore her small curves and back. Excitement fills Lincoln's body as he feels his girlfriend in an all new way, his body wants to feel more and he couldn't stop himself even if he wanted to.
The couple's lips separate again and with closed eyes the two let out tiny moans, Ronnie Anne's pony tail tickles Lincoln's face as it hangs passed her shoulder. Lincoln slowly opens his eyes to catch a glimpse of Ronnie Anne's freckled face, his heart stops as he sees his own sister Lynn holding herself over him. The athlete's pony tail brushes his face and makes his cheeks even more red as she smiles down on him with lust in her own eyes. Lincoln rubs his eyes with both hands and Ronnie Anne returns to his vision, "Are you okay?" Ask his girlfriend. Lincoln tries to compose himself, "Yeah, just had something in my eye."
Ronnie Anne plants a quick kiss on Lincoln's lips and whispers into his ear, "I'll make you feel better… Stinkoln." Lincoln's eyes go wide as he hears his sister's nickname for him, he panics and pushes Ronnie Anne off him. The Santiago girl sits on her bed with a confused look as Lincoln gets up and opens her bedroom door, "Sorry, Ronnie Anne. I-I… I should get going." Before Ronnie Anne could ask what was wrong, Lincoln ran out of her room, then out of the hallway, then out of the front door.
Lincoln ran out of Ronnie Anne's house and down the sidewalk, Ronnie Anne stands at her front door and calls out to her boyfriend. "Lincoln! Wait!" He hears her but continues running with tears in his eyes and thoughts of his sister burned into his mind. As Lincoln runs on the sidewalk his lack of exercise fatigues him, he reaches a stop sign and leans on it while he catches his breath.
Lincoln's hand trembles as he grips his chest and looks at the concrete with terrified eyes, he feels a familiar warmth in his chest but amplified to an unfamiliar level. "Oh, No."
Author's Notes: "Oh, No" Indeed Lincoln. As predicted, Lincoln has caught feelings for Lynn. How will this affect his relationship with Ronnie Anne? How will this affect his relationship with Lynn?
