Nico was always different from the other kids in the orphanage. For one, he arrived knowing how to Earth, Lava and,Metal bend. It took a normal person years to perfect metal bending and even longer to lava bend, but Nico at age 10 could do both. He had also spent a week in Tarturous, the neighborhood famous for housing the most mean spirited benders of all of the nations. He was able to beat all his teachers in bending classes and at sword fighting. He had a sister, Bianca, but she was killed right in front of him when they had accidentally walked through a battleground. A water nation soldier had jumped from behind a rock and stabled her in the back. In all the years since then, Nico never forgot that day. He remembered every detail. It was because of that day, Nico had trained so hard and how he was able to live on his own for so long. In the orphanage he met Hazel, she was so-much like his sister and yet so different and he loved her just as he loved Bianca and never let her go into any danger without him there to protect her.
