Chapter 2
Attempt at Freedom.
As the days turned into weeks. Stanford would go to the side show freak show. Whenever he could and would stop at Lilith's cage. He would stand there and watch her. To Lilith it's nice to see someone. Look at her with wonder and intrigue. Instead of fear and disgust. At first she hasn't minded the teen boy. Now she is getting annoyed. So she stopped what she was doing and asked "Why have you been coming here and watching me?"
"Because I find you intriguing. I mean you are an actual witch right?" Lilith nodded and replied "Yes I'm an actual witch. But that's all I'm going to tell you." The boy nodded and said "Fair enough by the way my name is Stanford Pines." Lilith felt obliged to tell him at least her first name. So she said "And my name is Lilith." Stanford smiled and decided to leave so he wasn't pushing things with her. On his way home he stopped at the hardware store. He got a whittling kit. Stanford wants make and give something to Lilith. Then he went home to get started.
the side show freak show has been in town for a month and a half. Stanford has finished whittling a bird. Now he's at the side show freak show. He found Lilith's cage said "Hi Lilith." Lilith looked, saw Stanford, and said "Hello Stanford." Stanford look around then went under the rope. Then he went up to Lilith's cage. He reached into his pocket and got out the wooden bird. Stanford reached through the bars and said "Here I made this for you." Lilith took the wooden bird from Stanford. She looked at it, smiled, and said "Thank you Stanford." Stanford went back to the other side of the rope and said "You're welcome." Then Lilith sighed and said "I heard William say that we'll be leaving at the end of the month."
Stanford gasped and said "Oh no." After talking to Lilith for a bit Stanford left. He went home and found Stanley.
"Stanley the side show freak show will. Be leaving at the end of the month." stated Stanford
"Well that's what they do Stanford. They go from town to town state to state." stated Stanley.
"We have to figure out a way. To get Lilith out of there." stated Stanford
"And do what with her? You do know that the owner will search for her right?" asked Stanley
"We'll hide her somewhere on the beach. Then once the owner gives up and leaves. We'll see is Ma or one of our neighbors will take her in. Until we can figure out a way to get her back home." suggested Stanford
Stanley thought for a minute and said "It could of these nights after it closes. You and I will sneak over. I'll keep watch outside. While you go in and try to free Lilith." Stanford nodded and said "Sounds good Stanley we'll do it soon." Two days later it's late and the side show freak show is closed. Stan and Ford snuck out of the pawn shop. Stanford has everything that he he needs to hopefully free Lilith. The brothers went over to the peer where the side show freak show is. Stanley stayed outside while Stanford went into the tent. There are only a few lights on inside the tent. But he can still see well enough.
He found Lilith's cage and went under the roped. Stanford went up to the cage. He got out a lock pick and started picking the lock. Inside the cage Lilith who was lying down trying to sleep. Heard something so she woke up and asked "Who's there?"
"It's me Lilith I'm going to get you out of here." replied Stanford whispering
"No I don't want you to get into trouble." whispered Lilith
"I don't care if I do get into trouble. You don't belong here." whispered Stanford
Soon Stanford picked the lock to Lilith's cage. He went in and saw that are chains attached to the floor. Stanford knelt down and started picking them. meanwhile outside Stanley is keeping watch. Suddenly he heard footsteps and saw a shadow. The shadow is heading toward where the cages are. Stanley ran inside of the tent and up to Lilith's cage.
"Stanford come on we've go to go now!" whispered Stanley
"Not no Stanley I haven't picked all of the chains yet." whispered Stanford
"We have to go I saw a shadow coming this way." argued Stanley while whispering
Lilith knelt down in front of Stanford and said "Stanford go with your brother. I don't want you to get into trouble. And do me a favor whatever happens. You and your brother stay together. The two of you remind me of my sister and I. Now please go." Stanford nodded and reluctantly left Lilith's cage. He closed the door behind him then he and Stanley left. William walked in and looked around with his flashlight. He noticed that Lilith's cage door isn't shut all of the way. The man shut it and said "I guess that we'll have to leave. Sooner than I thought considering it looks like. Someone it trying to steal one of my freaks." With that said William went back to bed.
The next day Stanford and Stanley watched as the cages. Where taken out of the tent and loaded into a truck. Stanford as they watched as Lilith's cage. Is taken out the tent and loaded into a truck. By that evening the tent has been taken down and loaded up. And one by one the trucks drove off the peer and headed out of town.
"I swear to you Lilith. One day I will find you. And try to help you go home." promised Stanford
With that said Stanford went inside the pawn shop. Inside the truck in her cage. Lilith is petting the wooden bird that Stanford gave her. She is determind to keep it with her no matter what. Lilith sighed and wondered if she would very see. Stanford and Stanley again let alone if. She will ever see her family again. Feeling lost and alone Lilith stared crying. She cried until she fell asleep.
