Knight of the Secret Stone! Fusion User "Masumi Kotsu"
"LDS suddenly attacked and challenged us to a Duel with You Show Duel School on the line. A Best of Three match. For the first duel my opponent was Hokuto Shijima of the Xyz Course. He was a tough opponent, but I managed to pull it out and get our first win!" Yuzu narrates.
Yuzu exits the Duel Field "Yuzu!" Ayu, Tatsuya and Fudoshi yell out and tackle her and hug her, bringing her down to the floor. "You gave me the shivers!" Fudoshi exclaims. "Yuzu!" Ayu cheers. Yuzu chuckles. "Yay!" Yuzu said. "Yes!" Ayu said Yuzu and Ayu high five each other. "Yuzu…! Well done! As expected of I, the man, Gongenzaka's best friend!" Gongenzaka tearfully congratulates her. "I was so moved!" He said as he tightly hugs Yuzu. "You're welcome!" Yuzu chokes, telling him. Yuya watches them, but when Yuzu turns to him, he sees the face of the Duelist that looks like Yuzu. "Yuya" The Duelist said and Yuya gasps. The Duelist turns back to being Yuzu. "Wh-what…?" Yuzu confused. "You're up next! I'm counting on you!" Yuzu tells him. "Yeah, leave it to me. Our You Show Duel School is riding on this after all" Yuya agrees. "I definitely will win it!" He declares. Meanwhile "I can't believe you lost to a student from this minuscule Duel School, You're making your title of LDS' Xyz Course cry" Himika scolds Hokuto. "But, Pendulum Summoning….Now I want it even more" She thinks. "If it's you, Yuya, you should be okay!" Yuzu states. "Right" Yuya agrees. "Do your best" Yuzu encourage him. "It is your turn next" Himika tells the girl. "Understood, Chairwoman" The girls replies. The girl walks up to You Show students "I am Masumi Kotsu of the Fusion Course" Masumi introduce herself. "Oh? So she's a fusion user?" Sora interested to hear that as he munches on biscuit sticks. Masumi arms her Duel Disk "So, which of you will be my opponent?" She ask. "I will!" Yuya declares. "With You Show Duel School riding on this duel, as well as clearing Yuzu's name I can't lose!" Yuya thinks. "But…" His thoughts drifting towards the Duellist, and he's startled when Masumi begins chuckling.
The duo adjourn to the Duel Field "A field that suits Yusho's son would be…alright, this!" Shuzo muses. "Action Field On! Field Spell! Crystal Corridor! Activate!" He declares. A corridor full of gems and mirrored pillars, carpeted with a pink rug, materializes "Yuya! I picked a field that perfectly matches your dazzling coolness!" Shuzo claims. "So shine on to your heart's content!" He tells Yuya. "Principal…!" Yuya embarrass. "To call someone like you dazzling, that's some incredible nepotism" Masumi comments. "What was that?" Yuya asks, unhappy. "Your eyes have no luster" Masumi claims. "Wh-where did that come from?" Yuya asks. "My father is a jeweller I've seen plenty of gems growing up…ones that truly dazzle, true gems" Masumi explains. "That's why I can tell right now you have no shine to you. It's poof that there is hesitation in your heart!" She states. Yuya flinches, remembering the Duelist again "Stop saying whatever you want! I'll prove whether there is any hesitation or not in my heart with this duel!" He tells Masumi.
"Duelist locked in battle!" Yuya declares. "Kicking the earth and dancing in the air alongside their monster!" Gongenzaka bellows. "They storm through this Field!" Yuya calls. "Behold!" Tatsuya declares. "This is…" Fudoshi said. "…the newest…" Ayu said. "…and greatest evolution of Dueling! ACTION!" The three kids all cheer. "DUEL!" Yuya and Masumi yells and Fudoshi snaps his fingers to scatter the Action Cards.
"I'm going first!" Masumi said. "I activate the Spell Card: Gem-Knight Fusion from my hand!" She declares. "With this card I use Gem-Knight monsters in my hand to perform a Fusion Summon!" Masumi states. "What?" Yuya gasps. "A Fusion with monster that haven't been summoned?" Yuzu surprised. "A Spell Card allow you to use monsters in your hand as Fusion Materials. That's what is Hand Fusion is" Sora explains. "The cards in my hand I will fuse are Gem-Knight Tourmaline and Gem-Knight Emerald!" Masumi declares. "Gem tinged with lightning! Brilliant emerald of good fortune! In whirlpool of light combine to bring forth a new dazzling radiance! Fusion Summon! Come forth, one who pursues victory! Gem-Knight Topaz!" She chants (ATK: 1800). "I can't believe she managed to Fusion Summon on her first turn…" Yuya gasp. "It seems even with your eyes that lack radiance you're able to understand how great Hand Fusion is" Masumi observes. "But…" Yuya whispers. "The monster she summoned only has an ATK of 1800. It's by no means an undefeatable monster" He thinks. "I wouldn't underestimate it if I were you. How you deal with this monster will decide your fate" Masumi warns Yuya. "I set one card and end my turn" She states.
"My turn, Draw!" Yuya declares and draws Odd-Eyes Dragon. "I activate the Spell Card: 1st Performance!" He declares. "If I have no monsters on my field I can Special Summon a Level Four or lower Performapal monster from my hand!" Yuya states. "You're up, I Special Summon Performapal Odd-Eyes Rhyme!" He declares (ATK: 1600). "If there is a Performapal monster on the field I can Special Summon this card from my hand!" He states. "I Special Summon Performapal Chorus!" Yuya declares (ATK: 1200). "Now, the musical begins!" He declares as both his monster sings. "I release Performapal Rhyme and Chorus and Advance Summon!" Yuya declares. Both of his monsters, who rise into the heavens and then join hands, vanishing in a puff of green dust "Now, please put your hands together! Today's main attraction, the rare dragon with differently colour eyes! Level Seven! Odd-Eyes Dragon!" Yuya chants (ATK: 2500). "There it is, a Level Seven!" Fudoshi cheers. "It's Yuya's ace monster!" Tatsuya cheers. "I'm not done yet, I activate the Spell Card: Odd-Eyes Draw From my hand!" Yuya declares. "For each "Odd-Eyes" monster I have on the field, I get to draw two cards!" He states. "Next, I activate the Spell Card: Odd-Eyes Summoning from my hand!" Yuya declares. "When I control Odd-Eyes I can Special Summon a Level Four or lower Odd-Eyes from my hand!" He explains as a beam of light came out of the Spell Card. "Now, Performapal Odd-Eyes Miscellanea, come to the stage!" Yuya declares (ATK: 1400). "Next, I activate the Equip Spell: Odd-Eyes Force and equipped it to my Odd-Eyes Dragon!" He declares. "Now, for each monster I control beside Odd-Eyes Dragon, Odd-Eyes gains 100 ATK, but it's effects are negated!" He states (Odd-Eyes' ATK: 2600). "Battle Phase! I attack Gem-Knight Topaz with Odd-Eyes! Spiral Flame!" Yuya declares and Odd-Eyes blasted Gem-Knight Topaz, destroying it (Masumi's LP: 3200). "How was that? This how I'll deal with your monster!" Yuya asks. Masumi doesn't reply "Miscellanea, you're next!" Yuya states. "I directly attack with Performapal Odd-Eyes Miscellanea!" He declares, the blast pushing Masumi backward (Masumi's LP: 1800). "He did it!" Ayu cheers. "Shivers!" Fusdoshi said. "Good job Yuya!" Yuzu encourage Yuya. "It seems you have some skills. But don't think that you've won just yet" Masumi comments as she dusts herself off. "Sore loser!" Yuya calls Masumi. "You'll understand if I'm a sore loser or not in the next turn" Masumi replies. "Performapal Odd-Eyes Miscellanea can change his battle position freely once per turn" Yuya explains. "I change Performapal Odd-Eyes Miscellanea to defense position and end my turn" He declares (Performapal Odd-Eyes Miscellanea's DEF: 2000).
"My turn!" Masumi declares and draws Gem-Knight Alexandrite. "I summon Gem-Knight Alexandrite from my hand!" She states (ATK: 1800). "Gem-Knight Alexandrite's effect activates!" Masumi declares. "By sending this card to the Graveyard I can Special Summon one Gem-Knight monster from my Deck!" She explains. "I Special Summon Gem-Knight Crystal!" Masumi declares (ATK: 2450). "An ATK of 2450?" Gongenzaka wonders. "But it still isn't greater than Odd-Eyes'!" Yuya notes. "Trap Card Activate: Fragment Fusion!" Masumi declares. "By banishing the Fusion Material Monsters from my Graveyard I can Fusion Summon a Gem-Knight Monster!" She states. "Wha-!? A Fusion Summon using monsters in the Graveyard?" Yuzu surprised. "I choose to banish all three, Gem-Knight Alexandrite, Tourmaline and Emerald in my Graveyard" Masumi states. "Using Gem-Knight Topaz's two Fusion Materials that were sent to the Graveyard as well as Gem-Knight Alexandrite to perform Fusion? Now she actually looks pretty good" Sora comments. "Gem with facets of noon and night! Gem tinged with lightning! Brilliant emerald of good fortune! In whirlpool of light combine to bring forth a new dazzling radiance! Fusion Summon! Appear now, one who illuminates all with its supreme radiance! Gem-Knight Master Diamond!" Masumi chants (ATK: 2900).
As the mighty Gem-Knight plants its sword in the ground behind her "This is my true ace monster!" Masumi explains. Yuya gasps in shock. "I use Gem-Knight Master Diamond's effect to banish the Gem-Knight Topaz in my Graveyard" Masumi states. "Banish? Why?" Yuya confused. "Yuya! Don't let your guard down!" Yuzu warns him. But Yuya sees her as the masked Duelist again "She's planning something" She tells Yuya. Yuya was completely rattled "You're pretty carefree thinking you have time to look away!" Masumi notes. Yuya looks back at Masumi then at the crystal walls. "Battle Phase! First I'll be attacking your defense position Performapal Odd-Eyes Miscellanea with Gem-Knight Crystal!" Masumi declares and the Gem-Knight fires a blast of crystals from its shoulders, destroying Miscellanea. "Here comes the real deal! I attack Odd-Eyes with Gem-Knight Master Diamond!" Masumi declares and Master Diamond charges as Odd-Eyes raise its head. Master Diamond bisects Odd-Eyes (Yuya's LP: 3700). "Yuya's ace monster got taken out!" Ayu cries. "But he only took just 300 damage!" Fudoshi points out. "No, that's wrong" Masumi corrects him. "What do you mean?" Yuya asks. "That's because before the Battle Phase started I activated Master Diamond's effect" Masumi states. "By banishing a Level 7 or lower Gem-Knight monster Master Diamond gains its effect until the end of the turn" She explains. "Then that's why you banished Gem-Knight Topaz?" Yuya realizes. "That's right" Masumi states. "Topaz's first effect!" She declares. "A Monster destroyed in battle by this monster deals its original Attack Points as damage to its player!" She explains and Master Diamond blasts a wave of light from its hand, throwing Yuya backwards (Yuya's LP: 1200). "Yuya! Keep burning! Hot-blooded!" Shuzo tearfully begs Yuya. "2500, that's huge damage…" Tatsuya doubtful. "But he still has some life left! If it's Yuya than I'm sure he can…" Gongenzaka points out. "Nope, not possible. It's over with this" Sora claims. "Gem-Knight Topaz's second effect!" Masumi declares. "It can attack twice during the Battle Phase!" She states. "What!?" Yuzu shock. "Then Yuya will…" Gongenzaka realizes. "Lose…" Tatsuya and Fudoshi gasps. "I told you it was over didn't I?" Sora points out.
"No, if this keeps up…I'll…" Yuya thinks as his vision blurs, and he spots an Action Card. "This is the end!" Masumi declares. "Action Card!" Yuya gasps. "By using Topaz's effect…" Masumi states. "It's all or nothing!" Yuya thinks. "I make a direct attack with Gem-Knight Master Diamond!" Masumi decalres as Yuya dives for the card, events slowing down, Master Dai attacks. "I got it!" Yuya thinks but his hand hand bounces off a pillar; he had been trying to grab a reflection. "No…" Yuya horrified. "To be deceived by the reflection in the crystals, your eyes must be quite clouded" Masumi observes. Yuya turns just in time for the blast of light from the sword of Master Diamond to hit him, blasting him backward with a scream. Landing in a heap (Yuya's LP: 0). Masumi's win portrait pops up and the Field vanishes. "In the end he still lost" Sora comments as Yuzu runs to the field. "But of course" Himika comments and Hokuto angrily grits his teeth.
Yuya opens his eyes to see the face of the masked Duelist, which fades into that of Yuzu. "Yuya…Yuya! Yuya!" Yuzu calls out. "You aren't hurt are you?" She asks. "Y-Yeah…" Yuya replies. "Oh, thank godne-" Yuzu said, but Yuya stumbles as he gets up and falls into Yuzu's arms. "Hey, you sure you're okay?" Yuzu asks. But Yuya wasn't listening "Just what am I doing…Yuzu is right here, she's definitely right here" Yuya asks himself.
(Flashback)
He remembers the masked Duelist's arrival and unmasking, and sees her and Yuzu's images superimposed on one another. "But I didn't believe the Yuzu right in front of me and worried on my own" Yuya thinks.

"It's just like she said…I was deceived by my imagination" Yuya thinks. "That's quite a show you two are giving us" Masumi comments, and Yuya blushes bright red "Kyaa!" Yuya scream and shoves Yuzu off him. Yuzu hits the floor sharply, caught completely off-guard "Ouch!" Yuzu said. "What the heck was that for?" Yuzu asks as she gets up rubbing his tailbone. "I-I'm so sorry!" Yuya apologizes. "If you're just going to apologize, don't go pushing me in the first place" Yuzu comments. "Um…it was such an important Duel, yet I…I…." Yuya protest. "Don't worry about it, all we have to do is win the next one!" Yuzu reassures him. "Yuzu!" Yuya said and then smiles. "All we have to do is win the next one? You make it sound like it'll be easy" Someone's voice asks. "You're…" Yuzu said. "I'm LDS' Synchro Course's Yaiba Todo" Yabia introduces himself. "So, who's going to be my opponent?" He asks.
"Yuzu won,"Ayu said. "And Yuya lost…" Fudoshi said. "So it's one won, one loss" Tatsuya states. "I, the man, Gongenzaka would avenge Yuya if I could but…a duel with You Show Duel School on the line and with me being the successor to the Gongenzaka Dojo I'm an outsider!" Gongenzaka bristles. "Listen up Sora! This is the moment of truth! You have to win!" He encourage Sora. "You know I'm not really a fan of such stifling things…If you want you can go out in the next duel Gon-chan" Sora tells him. "Go-Gon-chan?!" Gongenzaka angrily repeats the name. "Wait,I can go out!?" He realizes what Sora just said. "Sure. I don't know why but I'm getting the feeling I'm not a good matchup with that guy" Sora commentslooking over at the exercising Yaiba. "If you say so then…" Gongenzaka said. "We're counting on you Gongenzaka! If it's you my best friend Duelling then I've got nothing to worry about!" Yuzu tells him. "Yuzu…" Gongenzaka touch by Yuzu's words. Gongenzaka goes up in flames "Alright, leave it to me! I swear on the name of Gongenzaka Dojo's Steadfast Duelling that I will win!" He vows. "Hey!" Yabia interrupts. "How long are you going to make me wait? Or are you scared and going to forfeit?" He asks. "Unforgivable! To treat the man as I Gongenzaka as a coward!" Gongenzaka furious. "Your opponent…Shall be me!" Gongenzaka explains as he arms his Duel Disk. Tapping his wooden katana on his shoulder "Let me say this first, if you think I'm the same as those goodie two-shoes you just fought you're going to find yourself hurting! Because after all unlike those guys, I'm actually strong!" Yabia warns Gongenzaka as he taps his wooden katana on his shoulder. "Yabia that guy-he's talking about us as if we're weak!" Hokuto unhappy. "Sure it's annoying but since you lost you can't blame him can you?" Masumi agrees. "Shit!" Hokuto freezes up and goes white, retreating to the corner in shame.
In the operating booth "The opponent this time is Yaiba Todo…Blade…Katana…Sword…" Shuzo thinks. "This'll do it! Action Field On! Field Spell: Sword's Cemetery!" Shuzo declares. A wasteland with swords and dead trees littered about the landscape appears, with Gongenzaka standing on a low rise. "Gongenzaka! Use this sword graveyard to bury your opponent's blade!" Shuzo encourages Gongenzaka. "Hiragi, if we win this Duel, both You Show Duel School and Yuzu Hiragi will become LDS'. You're okay with this, right?" Himika reiterate. "However, if we win, you will never try to bother Yuzu again" Shuzo reiterate. Everyone watches tensely (except Hokuto, who's still sulking in the corner) - including the concealed Reiji.
Against a fiery background "Duelist locked in battle!" Shuzo chants. "Kicking against the earth and dancing in the air alongside their monsters!" Himika declares. "They storm through this Field!" Shuzo cries. "Behold! This is the newest and greatest evolution of Dueling!" Himika cries. "Action!" Yuzu and Yuya call. "DUEL!" Gongenzaka and Yaiba declares.
The Action Cards scatter "I'm going first!" Gongenzaka states. "I Summon Superheavy Samurai Kabuto from my hand!" He declares (ATK: 1000). "I end my turn with this" Gongenzaka states. "Heh, you Summon a small fry monster with 1000 Attack Points and you're done?" Yaiba comments. "Truly strong men don't waste time on pointless movements" Gongenzaka replies. "Heh! Do whatever ya want, you stupid blockhead" Yaiba calls him. "My turn. Draw!" He declares and draws XX-Saber Fulhelmknight. "I Summon XX-Saber Boggart Knight!" Yabia states (ATK: 1900). "When this monster is Summoned, I can Special Summon one Level 4 or lower X-Saber Monster from my hand!" He explains. "I Special Summon the Level Three Tuner Monster, XX-Saber Fulhelmknight!" Yaiba declares (ATK: 1300). "Tuner Monster?" Yuzu surprised, having not seen a Tuner monster before. "At this moment, I activate the effect of Superheavy Samurai Kabuto" Gongenzaka declares. "When the opponent Special Summons, this monster switches to Defense Position! (DEF: 2000) And its Defense Points are raised by 500 until then end of the turn!" He explains. Kabuto generates a blue spherical field (Kabuto's DEF: 2500). "Too bad for you. A mere Special Summon tactic won't bring down my Kabuto!" Gongenzaka comments. "Whoever waste the most movement in this Duel loses. You would do well to remember that!" He warns Yaiba. "Nice one, Gongenzaka! Show them your Steadfast Dueling!" Yuzu cheers. "Ha! What's this Steadfast Dueling crap?" Yaiba asks. "I'm just getting started!" He declares. "When I have two or more X-Saber Monsters on the field, I can Special Summon XX-Saber Faultroll!" Yaiba states (ATK: 2400). "He got out three monsters in the blink of an eye!" Tatsuya shocked. "Amazing!" Fudoshi gasps.
"You can get surprise after you see this!" Yaiba tells them. "I'm Tuning my Level 4 Boggart Knight with my Level 3 Fulhelmknight!" He declares. Fulhelmknight swings its chain blade in a spiral around it, bursting into three motes of light that become green rings of light. "Carry your sword that glimmer with light as you climb over the mountains of corpses before you! Synchro Summon! Show yourself, Level 7! X-Saber Souza!" Yaiba chants as the rings pass over Boggart Knight in a cylinder, causing it to fade into a golden outline and revealing four motes of light. The light motes arrange themselves into a line, electricity crackles over the area of each ring, and a line of light shoots down the rings (ATK: 2500). "Wh-What the heck is that?!" Fudoshi exclaims. "You Tune the Material Monsters with a Tuner Monster, in order to call forth a powerful Monster from your Extra Deck equal to their total levels This is Synchro Summoning" Himika explains. "Meaning he used a Level 3 and a Level 4 in order to Summon a Level 7 Monster?" Yuzu realizes. "Right you are!" Yaiba confirms. "And there's more where that came from!" He declares. "Once per turn, XX-Saber Faultroll can Special Summon one Level 4 or lower X-Saber from my Graveyard!" Yaiba states. . Stabbing its blade into the ground, Faultroll revives XX-Saber Fulhelmknight "The one I bring back is XX-Saber Fulhelmknight!" He declares (ATK: 1300). "He revived the Tuner Monster used in his Sychro Summon from the Graveyard using a Monster Effect?!" Shuzo horrified. "Could that mean…?!" Yuya realizes. "You're right on the money, boy!" Yaiba agrees. "I'm Tuning my Level 6 Faultroll with my Level 3 Fulhelmknight!" He declares. "With your platinum armour shining brightly, shatter the hopes of those who dare rebel! Synchro Summon! Come forth, Level 9! XX-Saber Gottoms!" Yaiba chants (ATK: 3100). As Yaiba stands with the two powerful Synchro Monsters "What a guy…!" Yuzu gasp. "He managed two Synchro Summons in just one turn…" She shocked. Both Yaiba and Gongenzaka stare each other down as the wind blows in the field.
