DDD: King of the Different Dimension
"The three-on three matches against LDS continued with one win and one loss. Coming to our rescue, Gongenzaka fought a fierce match against the Synchro User, Yaiba Toudou, without taking a single step through his Steadfast Dueling" Shuzo recaps. "That means the damage is 3300!" Gognenzaka states. Soulbang Cannon explodes, and the blastwave shreds all of the monsters on the field, blowing both Gongenzaka and Yaiba off their feet. "The both of them ended with a tie. (Gongenzaka's LP: 0) (Yaiba's LP: 0) The condition was that our You Show Duel School wouldn't be taken if we won, and I attempted to push it off for now…but the chairman of LDS, Himika Akaba, insisted we go into overtime to settle the score. Bitterly accepting the condition, we were prepared to send out…Yuzu, naturally. But her opponent ended up not being the LDS Fusion User, Masumi Koutsu, who defeated Yuya, but instead…" Shuzo recaps. Reiji steps out from behind the wall where he was eavesdropping from, lowering his hood "I shall settle the score with her" He claims. Yuzu turns and looks at Reiji, and they both stare each other down.
Yuzu and Reiji stare each other down. Behind "She's wearing her visors?" Ayu whispers. "What's wrong with her?" Futoshi wonders. "Yuzu…" Tatsuya simply murmurs. "Yuzu.." Yuya whispers. "The manly Gongenzaka is pained by his worthlessness! If only I had won, Yuzu wouldn't….You wouldn't have this needless pressure forced on you!" Gongenzaka admits. Taking a bite from a chocolate bar "Ya thinks?" Sora wonders. "Huh?" Fudoshi said. "It doesn't looks like she's feeling much pressure to me" Sora comments. "It feels more like she's rarin' an' ready to go to war, doesn't it?" He notes. "This is the true final match. I'll definitely win and protect our Duel School…and the duelling Sir left us!" Yuzu notes. "Y-Yuzu…" Gongenzaka said. "That's right! Yuzu's definitely going to win!" Tatsuya states. "An' that's 'cause we got Pendulum Summoning on our side!" Futoshi adds. "That's right! Pendulums won't lose!" Ayu states. Shuzo looks down proudly from the operator's box "Yuzu definitely won't lose! The Duel Scho-" Tatsuya states. "I do wonder about that" Himika interrupts. "You kids have no clue as to how strong my Reiji is" She states. "Huh? Reiji?" Shuzo recognizes the name in surprise. "I think that's more than enough of the cheering squad. I want everyone here to remain silent and simply watch. My Duel with her" Reiji remarks. "I know I've seen that boy somewhere…"Shuzo states and looks through information on his Duel Disk. "I-I figured…! Reiji Akaba…" He feared when he finds it.
Reiji and Yuzu adjourn to the Duel Field. Reiji remains impassive, but Yuzu was visibly angered. "She's kinda scary…" Ayu admits as she clings to Yuya. "What's wrong with Yuzu?" Yuya privately agrees. "She's focusing on the match" Gongenzaka believes. "But that just isn't Yuzu…" Yuya not convinced, and he gets a look of determination on his face. "Smile, Yuzu!" Yuya tell her. "You Show Duel School's a Duel School for cheerfulness and entertainment, isn't it?! Don't forget to smile" He reminds her. "Smile..." Yuzu whispers. Yuzu smiles "Guess you're right. "Cheerful and entertaining" is my motto, after all" She agrees as she takes off her visors. "I can't forget that, no matter what the situation!" Yuzu states. "Okay, I'll show you all! The greatest Duel worthy of the greatest smiles!" She declares. "Yahoo~!" Her friends cheers. "Hmph…But how long will those smiles stay intact, I wonder?" Himika wonders. "Which Action Field should we pick?" Yuzu asks Reiji. "You're free to pick" Reiji simply replies, Smiling, Yuzu raises her hand towards Shuzo "Yuzu says she's leaving it to me again. But if that boy is the true Reiji Akaba…her opponent is a Duellist with the qualification of a pro. Even if it's cowardly, if it's for Yuzu, and if it's to protect the Duel School, I'll have to pick the Field most suitable to Yuzu" Shuzo thinks.
"Show them the greatest entertainment on the greatest stage, Yuzu!" Shuzo tells her. "Action Field, on! The Field Spell, Musical Circus, activates!" He declares. The beams of light from the Solid Vision generator align themselves, and multiple floating notes, poles surrounded by platforms, and other music-related structures with musical notes appear in a darkened room lit with colored lights. Yuzu and Reiji stand on the edges of a sharp note shaped blue and purple mat. "It's a circus!" Sora observes excitedly. "It's the Field suits Yuzu the best" Gongenzaka explains. "Principal! That's some nice manly spirit you've got backing her up like that!" He tells Shuzo. Satisfied, Shuzo sits down "That's as much as I'm able to do. The rest is up to you, Yuzu" Shuzo believes. "Thanks, Dad!" Yuzu tells him, and turns back to Reiji "It's the job of an entertainer to live up to expectations. So I'll show you all the greatest Duel!" She states. Yuzu happily activates her Duel Disk.
"Duelists locked in battle!" Yuya chants. "Kicking against the earth and dancing in the air alongside their monsters!" Tatsuya continues. "They storm through this Field!" Futoshi adds. "Behold! This is the newest and greatest evolution of Dueling!" Ayu cries. "Action…" All four cheer as the Action Cards explode into the field "Duel!" Reiji and Yuzu finish the statement with a cry.
"I'll give you the first turn as thanks for allowing us select the field" Yuzu states. "You'll give it to me as thanks…?" Reiji confused, repeating the words. "Now I see. So you're that type of thinker, are you?" He realises. "Eh?" Yuzu confused at the statement, but doesn't get time to dwell on it. "Forget it. I'll humbly accept you offer" Reiji accepts Yuzu's offer. "It's my turn, then" He states. "I'll activate three Spell Cards from my hand" Reiji declares. "I'll start with this first. The Continuous Spell, Dark Contract with the Gate, activates!" He states. "During each of my Standby Phases, this card inflict 1000 points of damage to me" Reiji explains. Yuzu gasped in shock. "During the start of each of his turn…" Yuya shock. "…he'll inflict 1000 points of damage onto himself?!" Gongenzaka shocked. "Also, once per turn, I can select one Level 4 or lower "D/D" Monster from my Deck and add it into my hand" Reiji revels. His Duel Disk ejects a card, D/D Cerberus. I'll add D/D Cerberus into my hand" Reiji states. "D/D?" Futoshi confused. "Different Dimension"…It refers to alternate reality" Sora explains. "My second Spell Card us the same. Dark Contract with the Gate" Reiji states. "What?! Now at the start of his next turn, he'll…" Gongenzaka shocked. "…take 2000 points of damage?" Yuya confused. Yuzu gasps in confusion. "Just like before, I add one Level Four or lower "D/D" Monster from my Deck to my hand" Reiji states. "I will add D/D Lilith into my hand" He chooses. "And the third Spell Card I activate is the Continuous Spell, Dark Contract with the Swamp King" Reiji said. "This card also inflicts 1000 points of damage to myself during each of my Standby Phases" He states. "That's 3000 points of damage…" Yuzu observes. "What is he trying to accomplish by taking such great risks?" She wonders. "With Dark Contract with the Swamp King, once per turn, I can Fusion Summon one Fiend-Type Fusion Monster without using a Fusion Spell" Reiji explains as King of the Swamp appears behind him. Sora gasps in shock. "A Fusion Summon without a Fusion Spell?!" Yuzu shock. "The ones I shall fuse are D/D Cerberus and D/D Lilith" Reiji states. "Hellhound flashing your victorious fangs! Enchantress seducing being in the dead of night! Amidst the light swirling in the Netherworld, join together this instant as one being and give birth to a new King!" He chants as the monsters appearing above him as he holds up the cards. "Fusion Summon! Be born! D/D/D Flame King Genghis!" Reiji declares as the monsters vanish into the Fusion vortex. A warrior-like fiend wreathed in fire appears (ATK: 2000).
"Amazing…" Yuzu whispers. "So he's a Fusion User?!" Gongenzaka declares. "But why would he take such a risk in order to Summon that Monster?" Yuya points outs. "It's "D/D/D" this time…" Ayu wonders. "Three D's?" Tatsuya wonders. "What does it mean?" Futoshi wonders. But Sora doesn't tell them as he's floored by the Fusion Summon. "Something is completely different" Sora asked himself. "Eh?" Futoshi said. "Could it be the real thing? But…" Sora muses. "There's no record of Reiji Akaba using Fusion Monsters during any of his past Duels" Shuzo said as he scans the reports on Reiji. "If he was that overwhelmingly strong without using them…does that mean he's even stronger now? C-Can you win Yuzu?" He wonders. Himika just smiles. "I set two cards and end my turn" Reiji states. "The last two cards in his hand" Yuzu surprised. "His hand has no cards now" Yuya states, but Reiji simply adjusts his glasses and he smiles. "Why does he act so high and mighty?" Ayu furious. "He's all lax and that, even though he's just a fourth-rate substitute player!" Futoshi points out. "Relaxed? Yeah, he could be. The fact that he's willing risking 3000 points of damage make him seem like he's understating Yuzu" Sora admits. "That's…!" Yuys gasped. "Inexcusable! A sportsman…a Duelist who underestimates his opponent…is someone I wouldn't touch with a six-foot pole!" Gongenzaka, particularly offended, calls it. "Beat that guy to pulp!" Tatsuya encouraged Yuzu. "Yeah, kick his butt!" Ayu encouraged Yuzu. "Knock 'im down 'til I'm feelin' the shivers!" Futoshi encouraged Yuzu. "Yeah! But the shivers will have to come from my Entertainment Duel!" Yuzu thanks them.
"My turn! Draw!" Yuzu declares as she runs and leaps into the air. "I summon Viola the Melodious Diva!" She states, and land on a platform with it (ATK: 1700). "I activate Viola's Monster Effect!" Yuzu declares. "It switches one of the opponent's monster's Attack and Defense Points!" She explains. Viola swings it's the charm on its wrists, hypnotizing Genghis, and the large monster drops its massive sword (Genghis' ATK: 1500) "Genghis' Attack Points lowered!" Ayu cheers. "Viola's Attack Points are 1700! She can win this!" Tatsuya cheers. "Shivers~!" Futoshi said. "Battle! Viola attacks Flame King Genghis!" Yuzu declares. "I activate my Continuous Trap! Dark Contract with the Witch!" Reiji responds immediately. "Another Dark Contract?" Gongenzaka notices. "Which means…" Yuya notice. "I get 1000 points of damage during each of my Standby Phases. Furthermore, all Fiend-Type monsters on my field gain 1000 Attack Points" Reiji states (Genghis' ATK: 2500)."Now Viola's attack won't get through!" Futoshi bemoans as Yuzu was already leaping for an Action Card, and Viola is pulling itself up short in horror. Landing on another high platform "I activate the Action Spell, High Dive!" Yuzu declares. "This increase Viola's Attack Points by 1000 until the End Phase!" She states. A trampoline appears on the ground, and Viola lands on it, bouncing into the air and glowing red (Viola's ATK: 2700). "Yes, that's the spirit!" Gongenzaka cheers. "This way she…" Tatsuya declares. "…flipped the tables!" Ayi declares. "Shiver~!" Futoshi said. "Go, Viola! Attack Flame King Genghis!" Yuzu declares. Reiji has Genghis throw him at a ball, and he grabs an Action Card from it, then he leaps onto another, activating his last Trap Card. The ATK of Genghis decreases (Genghis' ATK: 1500), and the attack of Viola connects, causing an explosion of smoke "Yeah!" The Kids cheers believing Yuzu's done it, as do the shock Yaiba, Masumi and Hokuto, but Himika smiles. "Wh-What?" Yuya gasped. "Wh-What's going on?" Futoshi confused, "No way!" Tatsuya gasped as Himika was proven right when Genghis was shown to be still standing. Viola floats back to Yuzu, and everyone wonders what happened in shock. "N-No way…" Yuzu gasped. "I activated an Action Card myself. The Action Spell, Evasion" Reiji explains. Yuzu laughs "That was pretty good" She comments. "They've been about even so far…" Shuzo muse.
"That's not true!" Yuya protest. "Her opponent activated four Dark Contracts, so he'll receive 4000 points of damage during his next Standby Phase" Gongenzaka agrees. "Which means…" He states. "When Yuzu ends her turn, her opponent's Life Points will hit zero!" Yuya points out. "Then that means Yuzu wins?" Ayu asks. "That was really fast!" Futoshi comments. "That guy made a mistake with his strategy" Tatsuya suggests. "I wonder about that" Sora said. "Eh?" the kids said. "He doesn't look like someone who would make such a stupid mistake. Plus, it's interesting that Genghis' 2500 Attack Points returned to 1500 right before Viola attacked it" Sora points out. Shuzo seems to have noticed it too. Yuzu, meanwhile, is looking uncertain "Hmph" Reiji chuckles slightly. "What's so funny?" Yuzu asks him. "My apologies" Reiji apologizes. "I just remembered that you mentioned things such as "thank" and "giving" at the beginning of our bout" He states. Yuzu looked confused. "You seem to be a kind hearted fellow. However, such kindness no meaning on the battlefield!" Reiji states. Yuzu grunts at this. "You know that if you ended your turn, as it is now, you would win, but you are hesitating. It's probably due to your kindness" Reiji states. "I wonder what kind of results this softness of yours will bring" He asks Yuzu. "What is he talking about?" Futoshi wonders. "Do not hesitate, Yuzu!" Gongenzaka urges her. "Yeah, beat 'im up!" Ayu encourages Yuzu. "Hurry up and end your turn!" Tatsuya encourages Yuzu. "I set one card and end my turn!" Yuzu declares. "Also this moment, due to Viola's Monster Effect, Genghis' switched Attack and Defense Points return to normal (Genghis' ATK: 2000). Also, High Dive's effect wears off and Viola's Attack Points also decrease" She states (Viola's ATK: 1700). "Now then, due to the effect of your Dark Contract cards, you should be taking 4000 points of damage!" Yuzu tells Reiji , which appear in front of Reiji. Reiji smiles darkly. "Dark Contracts? Such trivial things" Reiji states. All four cards explode, to the shock of the onlookers. "What just happened?!" Yuzu shocked. "The Dark Contracts has been broken. I already activated my Trap Card, Contract Laundering. Contract Laundering, upon activation, negates the effects of all "Dark Contract" Cards…and during the End Phase, destroys all of those "Dark Contract" Cards" Reiji explains. "So that's it! Since Dark Contract with the Witch was negated, Genghis' Attack Points returned to 1500" Sora realizes. "And he's able to negated 4000 damage just like that!?" Gongenzaka asks. "And for each card destroyed…I get to draw a card from my Deck!" Reiji explains further , and thus he draws four new cards.
Yuzu closes her eyes "Softness, huh? But I wouldn't have been able to enjoy winning like that. Because no one would get to see my Entertainment Dueling everyone loves ended that way" She admits. "While it seem a bit childish and stupid to you…I'd rather…show that I can win with my Entertainment Duelling, the duelling I carried over from Sir!" Yuzu explains as Reiji adjusts his glasses. "How Yusho Sakaki dueled, correct?" Reiji asks. Yuzu was shocked "Do you know…Do you know Uncle?" She asks. "Heck, everyone does! Yusho is a freakin' celebrity" Yaiba rudely cuts in, pointing out. "As the former champion who ran away" Hokuto adds. "Shut up!" Reiji Declan roars. Yaiba and Hokuto freeze up "Idiot…" Masumi calls them. "Excuse them…Of course I know of Yusho. As one if the pioneers who helped build the foundation for the current age of Action Duels…I sincerely respect him" Reiji tells Yuzu. "Today, if you shall show…the kind of duelling you inherited from Yusho…Then it would be best if I also…showed it to you in all seriousness" He declares. "Seriousness…? Then up until now you weren't…" Yuzu, who was floored, asks.
"My turn. Draw!" Reiji declares. "I Summon the Level 3 Tuner Monster, D/D Nighthowl!" He states (ATK: 300). "A Tuner Monster!?" Yuzu shocked. "No way!" Gongenzaka protest. Himika smiles "Now the show begins" She states. "When this card is Summoned successfully, I can select one Level 4 or lower "D/D" Monster from my Graveyard…and Special Summon it with zero Attack Points" Reiji explains. "I choose to revive D/D Lilith!" He states, and the plant-like Fiend emerges from a Graveyard portal in front of Yuzu, causing Yuzu and Viola to leap for a pole in terror. "I'm Tuning the Level 4 D/D Lilith with the Level 3 D/D Nighthowl!" Reiji declares. Each monster grabs a trapeze, and they swing back and forth towards each other, releasing their grip when they get close enough to begin the Summon. "Howl that cuts through the darkness…Become the first cry of the new King who obtained the speed of the gale itself! Synchro Summon! Be born! The Level 7 D/D/D Gust King Alexander" Reiji chants (ATK: 2500). "A Synchro Monster…!" Yuzu observers , and the group of onlookers gasp in shock "This guy uses more than just Fusions?!" Gongenzaka realizes.
"But I'm not done yet!" Reiji states. "I activate the Monster Effect of my D/D/D Flame King Genghis!" He declares. "When a "D/D/D" Monster other than this card is Special Summoned, I can Special Summon one "D/D" Monster from my Graveyard!" Reiji explains. The flames of Genghis become purple, and is raises its sword. "Be reborn once again, D/D Lilith!" Reiji calls out (ATK: 100). "And then…! I activated the Monster Effect of my D/D/D Gust King Alexander!" He declares. "When a "D/D" Monster is Special Summoned, I can Special Summon one "D/D" Monster from my Graveyard!" He explains. The aura of Alexander and the winds around it intensify, and Yuzu looks on in shock "Be reborn, D/D Cerberus!" Reiji calls out (ATK: 1800). "I Overlay the Level 4 D/D Lilith and D/D Cerberus!" He declares, "Say what?!" Yuzu shocked, as both Monsters become energy swirls. "I Build the Overlay Network with these two monsters!" Reiji declares as they enter the Overlay Network, causing water to erupt from the Network. "In order to reign over the entire world…descend now and take what is yours!" Reiji chants as his monster is slowly revealed, green eyes glowing. "Th…That's…" Yuya, who's particularly shocked, asked. "Xyz Summon! Be born the Rank 4 Wave King Caesar!" Reiji finishes. Caesar appears, standing (ATK: 2400). "Even Xyz Monsters…" Sora gasps. "He's…He's something else…" Gongenzaka admits. The LDS students seem shocked that Reiji can freely manipulate the Summoning methods that they all specialize in, Himika chuckles "He's able to use all three major Summoning Methods. That Reiji Akaba through and through…" Shuzo muses. "D/D/D stands for… "Different Dimension Demon" Reiji explains. "I've prepared a large taste for you of the power of the kings who rules the Different Dimension" He tells Yuzu. Yuzu with Viola holding her wrist , looks at the three powerful monsters and stares Reiji down.
