The Aim is the Junior Youth Championship!
"The battle between Yuzu and Reiji Akaba was brought to an abrupt end. Even though Yuzu was shocked by Reiji's Pendulum Summoning…" Yuya recaps. "You've done well, Yuzu. I have conveyed everything I wanted to you…" Yoko congratulates Yuzu before falling unconscious again. "Auntie!" Yuzu yells. Yuya whacks his fan on Yoko's face. "Thank to my mother's Biker gang teaching, Yuzu regained her optimistic smile! But I'm the one who really needs to work hard. If I had won my duel against Masumi Koutsu during our fight against LDS…I can't be this weak anymore!" Yuya narrates.
At Maiami Second Middle School, Yuzu is having her lunch. She removes the lid of her lunchbox and stares at the picture of Performapal Sky Magician on the bottom of the lid. "Watch me, Uncle! I'll sharpen my skills and become a pro just like you! I'll make everyone smile with the best entertainment duelling!" Yuzu promises. After making the promise "And with that, time to dig in" She said "All right! I'm gonna do, do, do it! I'm gonna become, become, become a pro!" Yuzu psyched as she digs into her lunch with gusto. "Hey! Don't talk with your mouth full!" Yuya reminds Yuzu. Suddenly, a hand offers Yuya a handkerchief. Surprised, he looks up to find Sawatari "Hey there" Sawatari greets him. "Sawatari!" Yuya exclaims and then looks away in disgust. "Sheesh, you're so uncouth for a lady! Your eating habits and Dueling are both dirty!" Sawatari remarks at Yuzu. "Dirty!? My eating habits aside, what about my Dueling is dirty!?" Yuzu exclaims. "I heard you ambushed someone again" Sawatari replies. "That wasn't Yuzu though!" Yuya denies. "But…what do you mean again?!" He wonders. "An LDS lecturer was attacked…by someone who uses Xyz Summons" Sawatari says. "What?" Yuya gasps.
(Flashback)
"Reiji!" Himika call out to him. Reiji promptly starts walking out of the arena. "W-wait!" Yuzu asks Reiji. "I'll give you the win" Reiji explains.
(Flashback ends)
"That's why he left in a hurry like that!" Yuzu realizes. Yuya nods in agreement. "I was kidding about you being this culprit this time" Sawatari admits. "The victim this tome was an LDS teacher. You couldn't have beaten him even with those cowardly Pendulum Summons" He reiterates. "Cowardly?!" Yuzu takes offense to the comment. "Just how is my Pendulum Summoning cowardly?!" She asks. Sawatari leans in close "The fact that only you posses it is unfair!" He said. Yuzu become speechless. "But that'll end soon. There are rumours the Leo Corporation is independently developing Pendulum cards" Sawatari adds. "I'm going to get my hands on those…and defeat you!" He expresses his desire. "That's all I came here to say, see ya" Sawatari states. "I'll be waiting at the Junior Youth Championship" He promises as he leaves Yuya and Yuzu. "Junior Youth Championship?" Yuzu confused. "Th-that's right! As I am now, I can't become a pro!" She frantically realizes.
After school, "Yuya! Yuzu!" Ayu greets them. "Had fun at school?" Futoshi asks. "Let's hurry up and go to Duel Sch…" Tatsuya tells them, but was surprised to see Yuzu in a glum state. "What's wrong, Yuzu?" Tatsuya asks. On the way to You Show, "You're not qualified?" Futoshi asks. "For the Junior Youth Championship?" Ayu asks. "That's right…" Yuzu confirms. "In order to qualify, you need to have at least 50 matches with a 60% win rate…" She states. "What's your current record?" Ayu asks. "46 matches with 26 wins…" Yuzu responds. "So that's…26 divide by 46…56.5%. You're right, it's not enough" Tatsuya states. "Wow, Tatsuya, you're fast at math!" Futoshi impressed. "But you still have four matches until 50 right? If you win all of them, you'll have 30 wins, putting you to a 60% ratio, right?" Tatsuya notes. "That's right, but…We searched around school for those last four…but…" Yuya says.
(Flashback)
"No way! You beat a Pro! Why should I fight you?" A student refused. "You beat Strong Ishijima and now you're trying to get into the Junior Youth Championship? Are you kidding me?" Another student refused. "You beat the Champion, so shouldn't you get a free pass through the Junior Youth? Lucky you…" A third student refuse.

"I didn't get a free pass at all! That was just an exhibition match, everyone's getting the wring idea I don't even have pro qualifications yet!" Yuzu yells. "In order to be a pro, you have to win the Junior Youth Championship," Tatsuya notes. "then pass the Youth exam and win the Youth Championship…" Futoshi continues. "and then you have to pass the Pro test right?" Ayu finishes. "And to think that I can't take that important first step forward…!" Yuzu bemoans. "Damnit! It's come to this, I'll just find four people and duel them!" She resolves. "One, Two, Three, Four…" Yuzu realize she can just Duel her friends. "That's a no!" Ayu refuses. "No way!" Futoshi refuses. "Why!?" Yuzu asks. "Because we're elementary schoolers and we're still in junior class! Junior Youth is for middle schoolers!" Tatsuya states. "Then at least you, Yuya!" Yuzu decides. "I'm saying no, too" Yuya refuses. "Why!?" Yuzu asks. "Because I've already qualified. And beside. We've had plenty of practice matches. What's the point of playing now?" Yuya states. "Then who else is there?!" Yuzu angrily asks. "How about getting Gongenzaka to help you?" Yuya suggested. "It's thanks to the Gongenzaka Dojo…that you've gotten most of your matches this past year right?" He states. "I'm thankful for that…He always has helped me whenever I needed it. Even the fact that I'm aiming to become a pro now is thanks to Gongenzaka" Yuzu admits. "But that's exactly why…I don't want to rely on him anymore! Instead, I have to become someone who Gongenzaka can rely on! With my own strength!" She states. "With you own…" Yuya repeats Yuzu words. "You're right!" He admits. Yuya runs off "Hey! What're you doing?" Yuzu asks. "Don't worry about it! I just thought that I want to get stronger too!" Yuya tells her. "Stronger…?" Yuzu confused. "Yuya?" Ayu confused. "What about Duel School!" Tatsuya reminds Yuya. "Tell the principal I won't be going today!" Yuya tells him. "What's up with him?" Yuzu wonders. "It's because you were only praising Gongenzaka, isn't it?" Ayu replies. "That's true. You didn't have any words of thanks for Yuya…" Tatsuya said. "You just don't got it, do you, Yuzu?" Futoshi smugly asks. "Wha!? Of course I'm thankful for him! Just like I am for Gongenzaka…no, even more!" Yuzu denies the children's claims. "You're too late!" Ayu says, to Yuzu's chagrin. As Yuya continues running down the street, "Yuzu is trying to change" He muses "Now I know I can't stay like this!" Yuya realizes. "I have to get stronger! Strong enough to be able to protect You Show Duel School!" He promises.
At You Show, "Although I said I wouldn't rely on Gongenzaka…How should I start looking for the other four…?" Yuzu thinks. As Yuzu enters the lounge "Oh, my girl!" She was greeted. Nico Smiley rushes to Yuzu and shakes her hand. "It's been so long since I've seen you!" Nico said. "You're-!" Yuzu exclaims. "Nico Smiley!" The children recognize him. "Why are you here?" Yuzu asks. "He brought your ticket! Congrats, Yuzu, you can enter the Junior Youth Championship, no strings attached!" Shuzo said. "Huh? No strings attached?" Yuzu asks. "That's right, Yuya! Even if it was an exhibition match the Miami Duel Association has allowed you to enter the Junior Youth Championship because of the abilities you displayed when you defeated Strong Ishijima!" Nico confirms. "Wow!" Ayu exclaims. "Congratulations, Yuzu! To think the Duel Association is giving you permission…" Tatusya said. "gives me shivers!" Futoshi said. Yuzu becomes saddened, which Shuzo was quick to notice. "What's wrong?" Shuzo asks. "Well, I'm really grateful, but…" Yuzu admits
(Flashback)
"You beat the Champion, so shouldn't you get a free pass through the Junior Youth?" Yuzu remembers a student telling her.

"I'll pass on that, I'll have to refuse" Yuzu refused. "What!?" The children surprised. "What?! Why!? Pourquoi?" Nico asks. "It feels kinda unfair, that all…" Yuzu replies. "Non, non! It's not unfair at all! You should be proud that the Association is giving you its approval!" Nico said. "I feel bad for Ishijima, too…" Yuya said. "Oh yeah, I haven't seen him in a while. How is he doing?" She asks. "He is no longer the Champion" Nico said. "Huh?" Yuzu confused. "After losing that match, he forfeited his title, and went overseas to retrain himself from scratch!" Nico exclaims. "What!?" Yuzu and the children exclaims. "Because of that I am now free…A manager with no Duellist to manage!" Nico said. "So, Yuzu, how about you aim for the top with me?" He offers. "I'm sorry" Yuzu refuses the offer and Nico falls flat on his face. "Now I get it, he was betting on the council's approval…"Tatsuya understands. "to make some money for himself?" Futoshi continues. "He's the worst" Ayu calls Nico. Nico grabs Yuzu's hand "That's not all! I fell head over heels in love with your talent, Yuzu" He said. "If you truly feel like that, then I have a request for you…" Yuzu asks. "A request?" Nico inquire
Meanwhile Sora was standing in front of the LDS building "I never would've thought he was Leo Corporation's President…Then that means he's the Director's son?" Sora muses. "But man, there are really a lot of guards out…It doesn't look like they'd just let me meet him if I walked up and asked" He thinks as he notices the many guards surrounding the building. As he thinks, a professor places his hand on a handprint detector provided by a guard. The guard motions the professor to proceed. "Dangit, I really want to fight him" Sora frustrated and licks his lollipop. Suddenly "I knew you'd be here!" Yuya calls out. "The reason you haven't been to Duel School is because you were after Reiji Akaba, right?" He explains. "Ah no, I'm not after him, I'm just…" Sora tries to deny it. "Just like when you approached Yuzu…whenever you get interested in someone, you just go after them!" Yuya recalls. "That's because he seems interesting! The way he just slammed out Fusion, Synchro, Xyz and Pendulum like that!" Sora admits. "But he's not someone you can get close to that easily!" Yuya reminds Sora. "Because he's the Leo Corporation's President, right?" Sora replies. "Oh, you actually know!" Yuya said. "Anyways, come with me!" He said, as he takes Sora by the hand and leads him away from LDS. "Huh? Hey, wait, where are we going?!" Sora asks. "Just come with me!" Yuya simply tells. Meanwhile the masked Duelist watches from a nearby building.
Masumi, Hokuto and Yaiba stand in front of a crime scene. "I heard it happened here" Masumi tells her friends. "That's about it for the suspicious part" Yaiba says. "Maybe there's something they don't want to show us" Hokuto comments. Inside, LDS professors are analyzing the damage. Masumi goes underneath the caution tape to try to enter "H-hey Masumi!" Hokuto tries to stop her. A professor opens the door "Hey! What are you doing here?!" He asks Masumi. Hokuto gasps "He's got our uniform!" Yabia states. "I-I'm not anyone suspicious!" Masumi replies. "I'm a student of Professor Marco's Fusion Course class at LDS, Masumi Koutsu!" She introduces herself. "Macro's?" The brown-haired professor, Tio, notices what's going on. Outside, "And you?" The professor asked Hokuto and Yaiba. "I'm-! Ah sorry…Sir, I'm Yabia Toudou from the Synchro Course" Yaiba introduces himself. "And I'm Hokuto Shijima from the Xyz Course, sir!" Hokuto introduces himself. Tio comes outside "The three of you are students from school?" He asks the trio. "Yes, sir!" They confirms. "I see, and did someone tell you what happened here?" Tio asks the three students. "No…we just heard that Professor Marco was attacked by someone…And the LDS Secretariat said we can't see him yet…" Masumi replies. "We want to know what happened to him too!" She states. "Was he really attacked by someone during a Duel?" Yaiba asks. "I heard the culprit was an Xyz user…I use Xyz as well, so I don't like hearing about people abusing it…"Hokuto says. "Sorry, but we can't discuss the details about it. We're still investigating it ourselves, you see" Tio apologizes to the students. "Is he alright? Is Professor Marco okay?" Masumi inquires. "I can't discuss that either, sorry" Tio refuses to give the details about that as well. Masumi gasps in shock. "But you don't have to worry. The top brass of LDS will definitely figure out what happened here" Tio reassures Masumi. "You should keep on improving your Duelling skills…I think that would make Professor Marco the happiest" He encourages her and her friends. "Got it? If so, leave this to us and hurry back to school" Tio tells them. Yes, sir!" Hokuto and Yaiba agree without hesitation, "Yes, sir…"Masumi reluctant. Tio returns to the crime scene. "Man, the Uniformed Unit really is cool!" Yaiba remarks. "That's because they're the super-elite unit who passed the pro test at the top of their class!" Hokuto says. "I wanna hurry up and wear one of those uniforms myself! I want to be a part of LDS' top team!" He expresses his desire. Masumi does not share the boys' sentiment and leaves. "Now where are you running off to?!" Hokuto asks. "You guys can go home! I'm going to check other places!" Masumi tells them. "Check, she says…" Hokuto confused. "Sheesh, she really…" Yaiba comments.
Yuya had taken Sora to a warehouse at the pier. "Why'd you bring me to a place like this?" Sora asks Yuya. Yuya closed the door and approaches him "Please! Teach me how to use Fusion Summoning!" He begs Sora. "Huh? Here?" Sora asks. "Yes!" Yuya said. "Why…?" Sora asks. "I want to get stronger! I'm not enough as I am right now!" Yuya says. "Umm…are you still upset that you lost to that lady…?" Sora wonders. Yuya start to remember his Duel with Masumi.
(Flashback)
"I got it!" Yuya as he reaches for the Action Card, but it turned out to be a reflection. "To be deceived bt the reflection in the crystals…your eyes must be quite clouded" Masumi chiding him for being deceived. And Yuya was then blasted backwards.

Yuya grits his teeth in frustration "Reiji Akaba said he gave us the win!" Yuya remembers. "I want to become strong enough to protect You Show too! I want to win against Masumi Koutsu! That's why-!" He repeats his desire. "You want a Fusion user like me to teach you? Is that it?" Sora asks. "Yes, so I'm begging you! Teach me!" Yuya begs him again. "What should I do…" Sora starts to think about it. "You can't?" Yuya wonders. "No, it's not like I can't, just…Is this really okay?" Sora replies. "If I taught you then you'd definitely get stronger…" He admits. "Then the better, right? Make me stronger so I don't lose to anyone!" Yuya eager. "But I just don't know if this is okay…"Sora having second thoughts as the masked Duelist eavesdrops on the pair.
"All right, well, this is the Polymerization card" Sora, nevertheless, agrees and shows him Polymerization. "This Spell Card allows you to fuse Fusion Materials. This is the bread and butter of Fusion Summoning, got it?" He explains. "Yeah, I do" Yuya says. "Ah jeez, I'm really teaching him…Being too nice is my only flaw, isn't it…" Sora thinks. After looking at the card "The Fusion Materials can be on the Field or in my hand, right?" Yuya asks. "Huh? Oh! Yeah, that's right!" Sora regains his focus and confirms the mechanic. "What's important is that you have all the Fusion Materials monsters you're summoning! Though, there are some exceptions…" He clarifies. "When you activated "Polymerization", the materials go to the Graveyard, and the Fusion monster is Summoned from your Extra Deck" Yuya recalls. "That's right" Sora praises Yuya for getting it right before noticing they're being watched. The masked Duelist leaps from his hiding spot, with Sora in pursuit. "Huh? What's wrong?" Yuya asks, but Sora ignores him and arms his Duel Disk. "Wha…what the?" Yuya confused about the turn of events as Sora chases the Duelist, who activates her own Duel Disk. Sora also activates his Duel Disk and the two clash with the holographic blades as if they were swords. Both Duelists leap back "And just who are you?" Sora asks the masked Duelist. The masked Duelist does not answer, "You're not from here are you?" Sora notes. "Neither are you!" The Duelist also makes the same statement. "Ah- You're from before-!" Yuya recognizes the masked Duelist as the one who Dueled and defeated Sawatari. "Huh? Yuya, you know her?" Sora surprised. "Yeah, when I was here with Sawatari before…" Yuya replies.
(Flashback)
"Xyz Summon! Dance in the sky! Rank 1! Lyrilusc - Assembled Nightingale!" The Duelist chants (ATK: 0).

"Are you behind the incident this time, too?" Yuya asks the Duelist, but she does not respond. "Incident…?" Sora wonders what Yuya was talking about. "Apparently an LDS teacher was attacked" Yuya explains. "An LDS…?" Sora asks. "Oh, that explains why they were so many guards" He realizes that this was why so many guards were posted around LDS. "So…you're the culprit right?" Sora repeats Yuya's question. The Duelist still does not answer. "Just who are you…? Was your Duel with Sawatari to save me? Or do you have a grudge against LDS?!" Yuya inquires. "That's…" The Duelist said.
Suddenly, the warehouse doors fly open "So you're the culprit!" A voice yells. Yuya and Sora turns around to see Masumi standing there. "Masumi Koustu!" Yuya exclaims. "What did you do to Professor Marco?! Answer me!" Masumi demands as she approaches the Duelist. "What are you doing here?!" Yuya wonders. "I thought I might find something if I went to the scene of the first incident…" Masumi replies. She arms her Duel Disk "But if you were just lurking here all along, you saved me the trouble of searching!" Masumi says. "Wait, I'm still talking to her!" Yuya tries to reason with Masumi. "I've got things to say to her first!" Masumi yells. "What are you talking about?! And besides, it hasn't been proved that she's the culprit yet!" Yuya yells. "Once we see whether she uses Xyz or not, we'll know the truth!" Masumi says. "Xyz…? Oh…is that so?" Sora becomes intrigued. "I'll find out myself, fight me! Here we go, let's Duel!" Masumi insists the Duelist. "Hey, cut it out! Get it a rest already!" Yuya, once again, tries to convince Masumi, but his bracelet glows, blinding everyone. When the light fades, "Huh?" Yuya gaps as the Duelist has vanished. "She's gone…" Masumi shock. "It's just like back then…" Yuya notes. "Hey, Yuya! If you're there, answer me!" Yuzu calls out from behind. "Yuzu!" Yuya exclaims. "Ah Yuya! Thank goodness, Dad was worried and sent me out to find you!" Yuzu says. "What're you doing out here again, and not answering your phone?" She asks. "Yuzu Hiragi!? So you really are with them!?" Masumi accuses Yuzu. "Huh!? You're-! Wait…Sora too?" Yuzu confused. Masumi approaches Yuzu and grabs her by the shirt collar "Where did you hid her?!" She demands. "Her?!" Yuzu confused. Don't play dumb! Hurry up and get her!" Masumi unconvinced. "I'm telling you I don't know who she is!" Yuzu replies her's innocent. "Hold on!" Yuya separates the two. "You really don't know?" He asks Yuzu. "You too, Yuya? What're you talking about?" Yuzu bewildered about the current events. "Just like before…when she disappeared, Yuzu showed up" Yuya repeats his memory of the masked Duelist disappearing just before Yuzu arrived. "She…?" Yuzu repeats. "Give it a rest and just get her already!" Masumi orders Yuzu, but Sora was quick to act. "Ah! There she is! I saw her just now! She ran that way!" Sora points to his left. "Hurry up and catch her or she's going to get away again!" He urges Masumi. "Dammit! You won't escape!" Masumi exclaims as she pushes Yuzu aside and runs at the direction Sora pointed.
"Was someone there?" Yuzu asks. "I lied. If she hung around, she'd get in the way of our training" Sora admits. "Training? Here, with Yuya?" Yuzu repeats. "Yeah Yuya said for sure he'll…" Sora says , but stops when he sees Yuya stare at his bracelet. "Did you want to keep the Fusion lessons a secret from Yuzu too?" Sora wonders. "Yuya learning Fusion!? So this is for the Junior Youth Championship…?"" Yuzu surprised. "Oh, that's right! Yuya, I found my next four opponents! Well, actually someone found them for me, but…Nico Smiley helped me out with it!" She tells Yuya. Yuya looks up "Oh…that's good…" Yuya congratulates her. "Yeah, now all I've gotta do is win them all! I'll definitely be fighting in the Junior Youth Championship!" Yuzu says. "Hey, hey, you've been talking about the Championships, but what are they?" Sora confused. "Can I play in them too?" He asks. "Umm, I don't know…" Yuzu thinks about it. "You haven't played 50 matches since coming to Miami, right? You need at least that many matches with 60% win record to participate…" She realizes. "So I can't?! No! I wanna play in the Championship with Yuzu!" Sora upset. "Ah, now that you mention it…Even if you don't have enough matches, you can enter if you get six straight wins" Yuzu manages to remember another requirement. "Really? Awesome! If I just gotta beat six guys then that's a piece of cake!" Sora excites. "Can you ask that Nico person to help me get in? Just introduce me to six people!" He asks Yuzu. "S-Sure…"Yuzu agrees and looks at Yuya, who sadly stares at his bracelet. "I see…Yuya felt like he needed to get stronger after that Duel…" Yuzu thinks.

"I have seen the possibilities of further evolution in Pendulum Summoning!" Yuzu recalls Reiji's words

"I don't want to lose to him either! I don't know what Reiji Abaka has seen beyond Pendulum, but…I can too…" Yuzu promise. As Yuya stares at his bracelet "This is the second time…" He remembers the masked Duelist appeared in front of him, then disappeared after the bracelet flashed. "Just what is going on around me…?" Yuya wonders.
At night, another masked Duelist spies on LDS.
