At the Leo Corporation "Is that so…She won, did she..? Yuzu Hiragi…" Reiji said went Nakajima informs him that Yuzu won her first match. "Yes sir!" Nakajima respond. "Regarding the request you made to the Miami City Duel Council the other day about the special admittance to the Junior Youth Championship…Even though you went through the effort to approve it…I am shock that she would refuse it…" He states. Amused. "It seems that I did something unnecessary" Reiji admits. "But, the fact that she chose to carve her own destiny…As expected of the originator of Pendulum Summoning" He muses. "Did she use Pendulum this time as well?" Reiji asks. "Yes, sir. The Control Room detected a summoning reaction" Nakajima confirms. "Were there any changes to it?" Reiji ask. "In the Pendulum Summoning, sir? No, none in particular, sir" Nakajima, surprised by the statement, states. "I see. Then…That means she has yet to…" Reiji muses as he gets up from his desk and looks out of the window. "President? This does not concern Yuzu Hiragi, but…there is something that is bothering me" Nakajima speaks up. "Bothering you?" Reiji asks. "Yes sir. This was a report from the Duel Control Room, recently, there have been exceptionally strong Fusion Summoning readings occurring in Miami City" Nakajima reports. "Fusion, you say?" Reiji asks. "Fusion is taught in schools, so I assumed it was simply from the students, but" Nakajime states. "It was different, wasn't it? From the usual of the reading Reiji inquires. "Correct. We can't even compare it to that of the students" Nakajima confirms. "Understood. Tell the Control Room to continue to monitor the readings" Reiji tells Nakajima. "Right away" Nakajima response and leaves the office. "First it was Xyz…now it's Fusion?" Reiji thinks.
At the harbour, Yuya and Sora were Duelling. Sora controls Fluffal Bear, while Yuya controls Performapal Rhyme and Performapal Chorus. "I activate the Spell Card: Polymerization from my hand!" Yuya declares. "I'm fusing Performapal Rhyme and Performapal Chorus!" He states. "Dazzling performances flourish in splendid marvel and perform to us a new sensation! Fusion Summon!" Yuya chants. But instead of a monster, an error message pops up on his Duel Disk "Wh-why did the error pop up!? Why didn't it summon my Fusion monster!? Come on!" Yuya panics, frantically asking. "Hey, did you remember to put it in your Extra Deck?" Sora asks Yuya. "Huh? E-Extra?!" Yuya reacts in confusion. "I've told you a ton of times that Fusion Monsters go in your Extra Deck, not your Deck!" Sora patiently explains. "Th-that's right…" Yuya shamefully admitting, he removes his Deck from his Duel Disk and sees Performapal Lion Tamer in it. Behind a nearby warehouse, the masked Duelist was eavesdropping.
Later "You had front-row seats to two of my Duels didn't you? Didn't you figure it out from that? I could have beaten them both without using Fusion, but I ahead and did it just so you could study it properly!" Sora points out. "I'm…sorry…" Yuya apologizes, and Sora jumps down from the container he was sitting on. "I bet you were thinking about her again weren't you!" Sora comments. Yuya blushes and looks away "I knew it! That's why you've been Dueling so absent-mindedly" Sora proclaims. "So who is she?" He asks. "I don't know…" Yuya said. "Her name?" Sora asks. "I don't know" Yuya replies. "You said it was the second time that you had met her like that?" Sora asks to confirm. "Yeah. The first time was here as well" Yuya admits as he remembers she'd stepped in to save him from Sawatari.
(Flashback)
"Back down" The masked Duelist tells Yuya. "Huh? What's with you?" Yuya asks. "I don't want to hurt you anymore…" The masked Duellist tells Yuya.
(Flashback ends)
"And so that's how she went and stole your heart, then?" Sora asks. "Wha-?! That's not what I'm-!" Yuya, promptly, embarrassedly response. Fortunately for him, Sora doesn't press the issue further "I'm pretty excited myself too, thought. After all, she seems like a pretty interesting girl" Sora admits.
(Flashback)
"And just who are you?" Sora asks the masked Duelist. The masked Duelist does not answer.
(Flashback ends)
"If that Masumi Koustu didn't butt in, I might've been able to Duel her too…" Sora states. Taking a large bite out of a chocolate bar "That was really disappointing" Sora comments. "No! You can't duel her!" Yuya protests. "Why?" Sora asks. "Because…" Yuya starts to explain.
(Flashback)
"Birds with beautiful wings! Gather on the battlefield and take brilliant flight! Xyz Summon! Dance in the sky! Rank 1! Lyrilusc - Assembled Nightingale!" The Duelist chants. The Artiste appears behind her (ATK: 0).
(Flashback ends)
"She's dangerous…" Yuya states. "Outside of an Action Field created by the Real Solid Vision System, in that warehouse out in nowhere…Why was she able to create actual shockwaves…? And on top of that why…" He wonders.
(Flashback)
I don't want to hurt you anymore…" The masked Duelist tells Yuya.
(Flashback ends)
"Why would she say that to me?" Yuya wonders. Listen to them, the masked Duelist start remembers standing in a destroyed cityscape.
(Flashback)
"I don't want to hurt anyone anymore!" She claims. She hears something up to her right above her looking up to see a Blue/White jacket Duelist sitting astride on a D-Wheel. The D-Wheel projects its screen and Card Zones, and the Dark Duelist activates her own Duel Disk. The Blue/White Rider ramps off the building and charges towards the Dark Duelist. An explosion of dust rises up, the Dark Duelist emerging and Summoning her Lyrilusc - Assembled Nightingale. Swerving away from the Dark Duelist, the Blue/White Rider Summons her own monster, a glowing blue artiste, and both artistes charge and clash. The Duelist in the blue coat who had been surveying the Leo Corporation runs up with four of his fellows, and the Blue/White Rider grits her teeth in annoyance before fleeing. "Where's Yuto!?" The second Duellist asks the Dark Duelist, but the Dark Duelist just shakes her head. "Damn it!" The second Duelist curse.
(Flashback ends)
Back in the present, "Yuto…" the masked Duelist muses. Then he hears a cry from Yuya "The bracelet, again!" Yuya exclaims as his bracelet has activated again. The pink light fades "I knew you'd be here!" Sora and Yuya hear Yuzu's voice, commenting. "Yuzu!" Yuya exclaims. "Hey, Yuya, can't you just come back to Duel School already?" Yuzu asks. "I'm getting tired of my dad asking me every day…" She states as she passes the alleyway where the masked Duelist was hiding.
In another part of the city, the masked Duelist opens her eyes "This is!? Did I get warped again?" She wonders as she looks around at the skyscrapers. She hears an explosion and runs around a corner to see Tio Dueling the masked Duelist's comrade. "He's strong…" Tio gasps, as he faces off against the Duellist's monster. "Shun!" She masked Duelist gasps her comrade's name.
At Yuzu's home at night, "Huh? His bracelet has been shinning?" Shuzo said when Yuzu tells him about Yuya's bracelet. "Yeah, that's right! And he tells me whenever it shines, I always show up!" Yuzu explains. There's no way something that ridiculous is actually true…" She said. "That bracelet is almost like a sensor that's made to find you, Yuzu!" Sora claims. "Don't talk about people like they're lost pets…" Yuzu irritably tells him. "And why are you eating here dinner here too!?" She asks Sora. "Well that's because Onii-san…I mean, your father's cooking is so good!" Sora replies. "I don't mind if you call me Onii-san! Besides, it's more fun if we eat dinner together! I made plenty of food! So it's fine, isn't it?" Shuzo, flatters, reassures Sora. "Wait, don't tell me all these dishes are his!?" Yuzu ask recognizing the food. "You got it! Tonight's dishes are all Michio's highly recommended brain food!" Shuzo confirms. "I heard your next Duel is going to test your wits, so I whipped this up with Michio's recipe!" He explains. "Go on, enjoy!" Shuzo tells them. "Yes, Sir! Thanks for the food!" Sora said and immediately dumps chocolate syrup on his sardines "You're putting chocolate syrup on sardines?!" Yuzu disgust. "Oh, didn't you know sardines are chock-full of Omega-3s, so they're great at increasing your concentration and memory? I've heard that the Flavonoinds in chocolate accelerate blood flow to the brain, so why not?" Shuzo points out. "Delicious!" Sora said. "Well, I guess of the one who's eating it enjoys it, it's fine…"Yuzu muses. "That aside, Sora, have you heard? Who your next o2pponent is?" She asks. "No idea! Not interested either! There's no way I'd lose to anyone!" Sora claims. "Don't let that carefree mindset trip you up later" Yuzu warns him. "I should say the same to you. If you keep this up, someone else is going to take Yuya from you!" Sora replies. "Someone else?" Yuzu confused. "It's not like he's my boyfriend or anything…" She points out.
In his own house, "Stop joking around with me!" Yuya yells at his mom. "I keep telling you! You've had that bracelet since you were born!" Yoko protest. "In what world does a baby come out with a bracelet stuck on their wrist!?" Yuya furiously asks. "No, it's not like it was on your wrist then…" Yoko tries to calm Yuya. "Ugh! Enough!" Yuya annoyed. "Wait! Yuya!" Yoko yells as Yuya storms off and locks himself in his room. "And more importantly, I heard you're learning Fusion Summoning from Sora…If you're doing special training for the Junior Youth Championship, why don't you do it at You Show?" Yoko points out. "Is Shuzo's hot-blooded teaching not enough for you?" She asks. "Hey! Answer me!" Yoko demands. But Yuya doesn't answer; he sees the masked Duellist in his mind again "Dangit! Why do I keep seeing her face!?" He asks. He flops down on his bed "Even though I need to master Fusion Summoning as fast as possible to get stronger…If I'm like this…No matter how hard I try, I'll just be a liability for You Show Duel School" Yuya mutters. Yuya removes his bracelet and raises it into the air, but clutches it in his hands and bends over "What's wrong with me…?" He wonders miserably.
In Reiji's office the next day "These are…" Reiji reacts in surprise to two cards on his desk. "These were sent to the School anonymously this morning" Himiko explains to Reiji. "Marco and Tio…?" Reiji wonders as the cards bear their image. "Why are there cards of our LDS' two ace duelist? What is the perpetrator doing this…" Himika asks. "Yesterday, there was another powerful Xyz Summoning reading picked up. Shortly after, we received a report that Tio had gone missing as well… Reiji explains. "To think they would be sealed inside of a card…" He states. "Sealed, you say!? That can't be! There's no way that's-" Himika shocked. "Then are they inside of these cards?" She asks. "They're alive" Reiji states. "This is the first time I've witnessed this in reality" He admits. "Until we investigate it further, I can't say for certain if I am correct. But most likely…" Reiji points out. "Is there a way to save them?" Himika asks. "With our current power, unfortunately…" Reiji admits. "But this does raise one question" He notes. "There have been three incidents so far. The first victim being Shingo Sawatari. But he was not sealed inside of a card. But the second victim, Marco, and the third, Tio, were put into cards like this" Reiji states. "The two different incidents leads us to a new possibility…there are…two perpetrators" He suggested. "What?!" Himika shocked.
"Congressman! Please wait!" Nakajima's voice is heard, begging. The doors crash open "What're ya doin' loafin around, Director Akaba?!" Mr. Sawatari asks. "Professor Sawatari! You can't walk in! Please step outside!" Nanajime begs him. "CAN IT! I got business with this here Director!" Mr. Sawatari tells him. "But…You don't even have an appointment…" Nakajima protests. "Ya think there's a prollum with a politican comin' to see the president of the election committee?!" Mr. Sawatari asks. "Nakajima…Let him stay" Reiji tells him. "Understood" Nakajima respond. "I heard y'all had another incident, didn't y'all?" Mr. Sawatari comments. "What could you be talking about?" Himika tries to play dumb. "Y'all better not underestimate the information network of this city's future mayor! I'm hearin' bout everything!" Mr Sawatari warns them as he wasn't fooled. "First the teacher, now I heard the fella who was LDS' top team's ace got taken out too!" He exclaims. "It's true, innit?" Mr Sawatari confirms. "It's…" Himika flustered. "It's true" Reiji admits. "Then what're y'all doin' here foldin' yer arms?!" Mr Sawatari angrily asks. "Hurry up and get to findin' that perp!" He demands. "We are currently investigated the perpetrator" Reiji reassures him. "Investigatin'? What good does investigain' do y'all? My son clearly testified that the one who attacked him was…Yuzu Hiragi!" Mr Sawatari protest, slamming down a photo of Yuzu on the desk. "Is your son still saying that?" Reiji asks. "I ain't seen 'im since he got outta the hospital, but I ain't heard nothin' about the testimony changin'" Mr Sawatari admits. "So Yuzu Hiragi's gotta be the perp here!" He states. "The Director even agreed and said to leave everything to her!" Mr Sawatari points out. "So why're y'all sittin' here lettin' the perp run and cause a second and third incident?!" He asks. "I can't keep quiet about this! I gotta get the cops movin' by my own hands to protect the order here in Miami City and catch that Yuzu Hiragi!" Mr Sawatari declares. "Please hold on a second" Reiji asks him. "I ain't waitin'!" Mr Sawatari yells.
Reiji loses his temper as he slams his hands on his desk and gets to his feet, intimidating Mr Sawatari. "I said it was under investigation. We aren't just folding our arms here. We're raising the efforts in Leo Corporation and in the LDS to find the perpetrator" Reiji warns Mr Sawatari. "I told you that the perp is Yuzu Hiragi!" Mr Sawatari protest. "She is no criminal!" Reiji defensively replies. "We will surely catch the real perpetrator. Until then, I'd like you to watch quietly" He tells Mr Sawatari. Huffing, Mr Sawatari snatches up Yuzu's picture "I ain't acceptin' failure from y'all!" He claims and storming off. "Nakajima. Raise the level of alert in the Inner City. This cards are obviously meant to provoke us. Make sure we're ready to handle any incident" Reiji orders. "Yes sir!" Nakajima replies. "Also, have these cards sent in for analysis and have them investigated thoroughly. These two…No…In order to save all Duelist on our city" Reiji also orders.
In the streets below, "I'm tried…" Yuzu yawns. "I ended up watching quiz show all night" She said. "I'm supposed to be training my mind for a battle of wits, but now I can't think because I'm so sleepy!" Yuzu complains. "You fellas! Are y'all deaf or somein'?" Yuzu overhears Mr Sawatari, screaming at three LDS top-team members, asking them. "I'm an active city councillor! I'll become the mayor of this here city one day! The mayor's the most powerful fella around with the most influence!" He yells. "Who's that?" A woman asks her friend. "He's that Sawatari guy from the city council" Her friend replies. "He's not even the Mayor yet and he's carrying on like that…" The first woman expresses her disgust. "Sawatari?" Yuzu wonders. "So that LDS and Leo Corporation's gotta heed my orders! Not the Director, not the CEO, but me, the mayor!" Mr Sawatari tells the LDS students. "That's Sawatari's father…?" Yuzu asks. "Woah! If I keep this up, I'm going to be late to my meeting with Nico!" She remembers. She runs off, and Mr Sawatari see her in the reflection of a shop window "That's…Yuzu Hiragi, isn't it?" He recognises. "What're ya doin'? That's the perp we've been searching for! Go get 'em!" Mr Sawatari yells at the LDS students, but they hesitate. "Y'all deaf or somethin'? Hurry up an' catch that Yuzu Hiragi!" Mr Sawatari forces the LDS students as he pushes them. "HOLD IT!" Mr Sawatari screams at Yuzu as they run after her. "Huh? What the!? They're chasing me!? But why!?" Yuzu quickly realizes she's being chased. "Don't let her get away with hurtin' my precious boy!" Mr Sawatari accused Yuzu. "What?! You've got it wrong! I didn't do it!" Yuzu protest.
She runs around a corner and into an alleyway "Hold it!" Mr Sawatari yells as he and the LDS students came round the corner and into the alleyway. Yuzu runs towards Kurosaki, who has his Duel Disk activated and a Winged-Beast-Type monster above him. As soon as he sees the LDS badges on their collars, "LDS! Then I'll be your opponent!" Kurosaki declares. Yuzu passed Shun in shock "Huh?" She said. The LDS student stops, and Yuzu stops behind him "What's going on!"? She asks. "What's your deal!? Get outta the way!" Mr Sawatari demands. "If you won't start, I will!" Kurosaki warns them. "Could he be…!?" One of the students realizes. "The guy who got Tio and Macro…!" The second one realizes. "We need to contact HQ!" The third one states as he try to contact HQ. "What? Forget that guy, just hurry up and get Yuzu Hiragi!" Mr Sawatari yells at them. "I Summon Raidraptor - Vanishing Lanius from my hand!" Kurosaki states, and a copy of the monster on the field appears (ATK: 1300). "When this card is successfully Summoned, I can Special Summon another… Raidraptor - Vanishing Lanius from my hand!" Kurosaki explains, and he does so (ATK: 1300). Yuzu then realizes something "I Overlay my three Level 4 Vanishing Lanius!" Kurosako declares. "There's no doubt about it!" The first student declares. "He's the one who attacked them…" The second one declares as the Xyz Materials spiral into the Overlay Network. "Xyz Summon!" Kurosaki declares, which is picked up in the Leo Corporation Control Room. "There is an Xyz reading in the Inner City Center District! The energy levels are at maximum! It's equal to the readings from before…No, it's even greater!" A female technician claims. A gust of wind blasts Mr Sawatari off his feet as the same monster that Kurosaki used against Tio appears. Mr Sawatari grabs onto a stair railing and struggles to hold on, while Yuzu was blasted into a wall, and falls unconscious in some rubbish bags. The claws of Kuosaki's monster slice into the stone of the overpass, leaving deep gouges, and Mr Sawatari was blown away again. Cards float down by his face, containing the trapped top-team, and Mr Sawatari screams in terror and scrambles to flee. The cards are blown away by the wind.
"Snap! Snap!" Yuzu hears and wakes to Nico staring at her, and bolts to her feet in terror. "What's going on, Yuzu!" Nico asks her. "It was horrible! Xyz, Xyz!" Yuzu screams. "Is something wrong with Xyz Summoning?" Nico, confused, asks. "A monster! A terrifying monster showed up and blew everyone away!" Yuzu protest. "Blew them away? Where are those people?" Nico asks. "Those guys who were chasing me!" Yuzu tries to point them out. "Huh?" She realizes that they're gone. "How could there be a monster attacking people not even in a Duel Stadium, but the middle of the city? You sure you didn't dream it?" Nico asks Yuzu. "A dream…?" Yuzu asks. "Sheesh, what were you doing sleeping on the side of the road?" Nico asks. "I was sleeping here!?" Yuzu exclaims. "Sound asleep, too!" Nico points out. "What are you doing when you've got that important second match coming up?" He asks. "Come on, let's go!" Nico tells her as Yuzu rub her head confused. "Your next opponent is waiting for you" Nico informs her. "Sorry, I stayed up all night…" Yuzu apologizes,and Nico leads him off to meet her second opponent, "You can't keep doing this if you're aiming to be a pro! Managing your health is an important reasonability, you know!" Nico comments. As he leads Yuzu away, the gouges left by Kurosaki's monster were still clearly visible in the overpass.
