The Fortunetelling Boy - Satoru Unmei
A fortune-teller, whose face is kept obscure, is placing cards on a table behind a mirror "Everyone is rushing around in a panic to qualify for the Junior Youth Championship, but I'm just fine" He states. Having placed his seventh card on the table "Because my fortune-telling has foretold me winning six marches in a row staring tomorrow!" He claims. And so..." He said as he flips over one random card; it is Arcana Force VI - The Lovers. "Th-this is-!" He gasps and he suddenly has visions of meeting a soul mate "Satoru..." The man said, and he falls over in excitement. When he gets up, he revealed to be a young boy with curly red hair "I-I'm going to meet my fated person!? Oh no! Whatever shall I do?" The boy excited.
Meanwhile, Yuzu Hiragi was in her pyjamas at her bedroom, still organizing her cards. "As you are now right now, you're only within my expectations" Yuzu recalls what Nico said after she won her second duel. "Within his expectation…" Yuzu mutters. "Being able to surpass your audience's imagination is the mark of a pro! I hope that in the next Duel, you'll surprise and steal my heart away!" She also recalls what Nico told her. "Surprise and steal…" Yuzu whispers. Yuzu starts think, but ends up falling on her back "Dang it! Even if you tell me that, I don't know what to do!" Yuzu exclaims. "It's no use. I can't see how I'm going to so this…What I'm going to do in the future, or what lies beyond Pendulum Summoning…" She said. She suddenly notices a copy of Polymerizaition to her right, "This card…I better hurry up and return it to Yuya" Yuzu remembers. A while later, Yuzu was still sleeping when a she hears a loud noise "So noisy…" Yuzu stirs. Then a very loud bang full awakes Yuzu. "What the heck…" She mumbles. At that point, Yuzu then its 9:30 in the morning "I overslept! Crap, I'm going to be late for the duel!" Yuzu exclaims. She rushes to get dress. "My cards, my cards!" Yuzu panic as she hurries to pick them up. Yuzu crawls under her desk "Did I leave them on top of my desk?" She wonders as she turns, but hits her head on the desk causing some of her cards to fall on the floor. "Not now of all times!" Yuzu exclaims as she rushes to pick up her cards.
At a duel area inside Unno Fortune-Telling School where the duel will take place, everyone else has already arrived, including Ayu, Futoshi and Tatsuya who all come to watch Yuzu. "Soon my fated person will be coming here, won't she? I wonder what kind of person she is…A exquisite elegant elite Duelist?! Or maybe a wild, athlete one!? Or it might even be a kind one with family values!" Yuzu opponent, Satoru Unmei, wonders. "Hurry up and get here, my fated person!" He cries. Yuzu was still making her way there "Uhh, this should be the address Nico gave me, but this it…" She said as she was surprised when she sees the duel's location, which looks like a haunted mansion from the outside. "…where I'm supposed to meet him right?" Yuzu wonders. "Unno Fortune-Telling School?" She reads the signs. "Yuzu!" Nico suddenly appeared, in disguise. "A ghost!" Yuzu yells out. "Oh, it's just Nico…" She realizes. "I've been waiting for you, Yuzu" Nico tells her as he lets her in the School. Nico leads Yuzu to the duel court, which is underground. "Why are these stairs so dark?" Yuzu asks. "Yuzu, be sure to watch your step" Nico warns her. "Yeah…I kno-" Yuzu start to say, but suddenly trips over and lands on the duel court, right in front of Satoru. "Ow…Jeez, what's with this place?" Yuzu wonders. When Yuzu spoke, Satoru was shock that Yuzu appears to be looking up his robe. Tatsuya look embarrass while Ayu and Futoshi stare with disappointment. "The worst" Ayu states. "Y-y-y-you…Lucky pervert!" Satoru enraged hitting Yuzu on the head with his crystal apple, then begins to walk away "Unbelievable, absolutely unbelievable! To think a girl like that is my fated person…!" Satoru unimpressed. "But wait a minute…" He composed himself. "Up until now, I've predicted everything with fortune-telling…When I'd lose my way…on my test…and even today's weather!" Satoru remembers. "My fortune-telling has never been wrong. Then does that mean this time, too…?" He wonders.
"Umm, excuse me…" Yuzu interrupts. "What do you want, loudmouth!" Satoru yells. "Um…Can we start the Duel soon?" Yuzu asks. "I know! I'll do it!" Satoru though not pleased at the interruption, accepts Yuzu's challenge. "I'm going to use this Duel to divine whether you're my fated person or not!" He states. At that point "Everyone thank you for waiting! The official match between the shocking Entertainment Duelist Yuzu Hiragi, and the Infallible Fortune-Telling Boy, Satoru Unmei will now begin!" Nico formally introduces the challengers while taking off his ghost robe. "With that Unno Duel School's Principal, if you would!" He consults Unno Duel School's Principal, Naruko Unno, for her pre-duel words. "Fate is predetermined. But people passing through the ages are unable to accept this. Fortune-telling is a light meant to guide them. That in itself is a micro cosmos of life" Unno gave her speech. "Action Field On! Field Spell: Fortuneterror activate!" She declares. The field transforms into a circular room surrounded by six pillars. "There's something carved into those pillars!" Futoshi notices. "Death, The Magician, The Hanged Man…They're engravings of Tarot cards!" Tatsuya finds out to his horror. "It makes it look so…mystical!" Ayu awes. "We're going to Duel here…?" Yuzu still having trouble believing that she is dueling on this field. "That's right!" Satoru confirms. "I'm going to determine if you are my fated person with my infallible Divination Duel" He said. "Wait! You keep saying fated person…what do you me-" Yuzu confused. "We're starting!" Satoru brushes off her question. "Duelist locked in battle!" He chants. "K-kicking against the earth and dancing in the air alongside their monster! They storm through this field!" Yuzu chants. "Behold! This is the newest and greatest evolution of Dueling!" Satoru chants. "Action!" Everyone shouts. "DUEL!" Yuzu and Satoru yell out.
"Shall we determine who goes first with a coin toss?" Satoru suggest. "Huh?" Yuzu said. "Head is a dragon, tails is a demon. If you choose correctly, I'll allow you to go first" Satoru states and he flips the coin into the air and it lands on the back on his hand. "Now, which is it?" Satoru asks. "Uh…um…I've got it! It'll be the dragon!" Yuzu calls it. "Too bad, it's the demon" Satoru states. "Huh?" Yuzu gasps. "As I suspected, you're a pitiful woman who has no foresight" Satoru remarks. "I just guessed wrong on a 50/50!" Yuzu argues. "I'll be going first with my ability to see what lies ahead!" Satoru decide and lands on a bubble floating over the field. "I set a monster in face-down defense position" He said. "What? Face-down defense position?" Yuzu unfamiliar to this action. "Not knowing what's going to be summoned is creepy…" Ayu states. "I end my turn with that!" Satoru states. "What? You're ending it with just that?!" Yuzu bewilders. "When this card is revealed, your fate and mine will be made clear" Satoru simply states. "No seriously, what is this "fate" stuff you keep going on about?" Yuzu asks. "Eventually you will understand" Satoru said. "Now it's your turn, but you can't see what lies ahead" He states. "Jeez, shut up about that!" Yuzu unable to comprehend her opponent. "My turn!" She declares as she begins to leap the floating rocks. "You have something you're worrying about, don't you?" Satoru points out. "Worries? How can you tell that?" Yuzu surprised. "Just now, in the coin toss, you chose the dragon. That is an expression of you desiring a strong power that will break you out of your current situation. Right now, you are at a standstill, unable to see where you can move forward" Satoru explains. "It's true that I want to see what lies beyond Pendulum Summoning…But right now, I have to put my all into this Duel...!" Yuzu thinks. "Draw!" Yuzu declares and draws Mozarta the Melodious Pendulum Maestra "Alright, it's Mozarta! I can set the Pendulum Scale from 1 to 4 right now. But my hand is only Level 5 and higher monsters, so I can't even perform a Normal Summon!" Yuzu thinks. "I can't do anything with this hand!" She realizes. "I will now…end my turn" Yuzu said. "I knew it" Satoru said. "Huh!? She didn't even Summon a monster let alone set any cards!" Futoshi exclaims. "What's wrong with Yuzu?" Ayu wonders. "Don't tell me she bricked!" Tatsuya realizes. "In times like this, I need…an Action Card" Yuzu states and begins to climb up a suspended flight of stairs.
Meanwhile, Yuya was at the Warehouse searching for something. "I'm sure it was somewhere around here…" Yuya said as he looks around. "Where did it go?" He wonders. His phone than ring "Hello?" Yuya answers. "Yuya! Where are you and what are you doing!?" Sora angrily asks. "Wh-what you ask me…" Yuya said. "I'm going to win my sixth qualification match for the Junior Youth Championship today, so you need to be here to see it!" Sora iterates. "Yeah, but…" Yuya tries to explains. "No buts! Hurry up and get over here!" Sora tells Yuya. "All right!" Yuya respond. Back at the Unno Fortune-Telling School, "My turn, Draw!" Satoru declares. "I Flip Summon the previously Set monster! Come forth, Prediction Princess Coinorma!" He calls out (ATK: 800). "At this moment, Coinorma's Flip Effect activates!" Satoru states. "Flip Effect?" Ayu confused. "It's an effect that activates when a monster is flipped face-up. Monsters who have that effect are called Flip Monsters" Tatsuya explains. "When Coinorma is Fipped; I can set a Level 4 or lower Flip Monster from my hand, Deck or Graveyard" Satoru explains. "And so again, I'll set this card!" He states as he set a monster from his Deck. "Face-down defense position again!" Yuzu said. "Let's have Coinorma predict your future as you run around aimlessly" Satoru said, then Coinora flips three coins in the air. "Head, Tails, Tails. That means you will soon have to make a fateful decision" Satoru states. "Yuzu's Field is empty!" Tatsuya exclaims. "If she doesn't do something, she's going to eat a direct attack!" Futoshi exclaims. "If she could at least get an Action Card…" Ayu states.
"Battle Phase! I make a direct attack with Coinorma!" Satoru declares. "Found on! With this I should be able to_!" Yuzu exclaims as she found an Action Card. "There are two cards!" She shocked when she finds two Action Cards. "You can only add one Action Card to your hand, this is your fateful decisions!" Satoru states. "Which is it…" Yuzu wonders. "This one!" She impulsively chooses the Action Card on the left, and it is revealed to be the Action Trap, Lousy Luck. "Lousy Luck?!" Yuzu exclaims. "The Action Trap: Lousy Luck deals 800 damage to you" Satoru explains. Yuzu then falls to a lower floating platform (Yuzu's LP: 3200). "The chance of drawing Lousy Luck in this Field is one in tens of thousands. You must have some horrible luck" Satoru remarks. Then Coinorma attacks Yuzu (Yuzu's LP: 2400). "The divination hit the nail on the head!" Ayu said. "It's not over yet!" Satoru states. "I now release Coinorma and Advance Set a monster!" He declares. "An Advance Summon in face-down defense position too…?" Yuzu wonders as she sits up. "That's right, this is a card that represents your unknown future!" Satoru states. "I set one card and end my turn" He declares.
Yuzu gets up "Alright, this time!" She vows. "My turn!" Yuzu declares and drawsArietta the Melodious Diva. "It's here!" She gasps. "I summon Arietta the Melodious Diva from my hand!" Yuzu declares (ATK: 1500). "Both his monsters are in Defense Position, but the monster she Advance Set had higher Level" Yuzu thinks. "I wouldn't do that if I were you. When unlucky ones like yourself attempt to do something, it never ends well" Satoru warns Yuzu. "Mind your own business!" Yuzu exclaims. "Battle Phase! I attack the recently Set monster with Arietta the Melodious Diva!" She declares. "Trap Card open! Black Cat-astrophe!" Satoru counters and thirteen black cats came out and glares at them. "She got glared at by black cats, that's bad luck!" Ayu exclaims. "And by thirteen of them too!" Futoshi adds as he unable to watch. The attack was cut short and ends Yuzu's Battle Phase. "When I have two or more monsters in Defense Position, Black Cat-astrophe ends my opponent's Battle Phase!" Satoru explains. "No way…!" Yuzu shock. She then suddenly trips over herself "I tripped over nothing…!" Yuzu wonders. "See? I told you that it would never end well" Satoru tells Yuzu. "All I did was fall over!" Yuzu said. "But you had all of these black cats glare at you. You truly must be unlucky!" Satoru simply states. "I end my turn with that!" Yuzu declares. "To think you'd ignore my good advice and do something so meaningless…" An unimpressed Satoru says. He then leaps the platforms to stand on the ring surrounding the court "That's enough. As I thought, you aren't my fated person after all!" Satoru tells Yuzu. "Prepare yourself because I'll erase you without a trace!" He vows. "There he goes saying whatever he wants again…" Yuzu mutters.
"My turn, Draw!" Satoru declares. "I Flip Summon the monster I set earlier!" He states. "Come forth! Prediction Princess Arrowsylph!" Satoru calls out (ATK: 1000). "When Arrowsylph is Flip Summoned: I can add one Ritual Spell Card to my hand from my deck or Graveyard!" He explains. "Ritual Spell!?" Yuzu surprised. "The Ritual Spell I add to my hand is: Prediction Ritual!" Satoru declares. "Following that, I Flip Summon the monster I Advance Set earlier!" She states. "You're up, Prediction Princess Crystaldine!" Calls out (ATK: 1400). "When Crystaldine is Flip Summoned: I can add one Ritual Monster to my hand from my Deck or Graveyard" He explains. "The Ritual Monster I will add to my hand is: Prediction Princess Tarotrei!" Satoru declares. "If he's added a Ritual Monster and Ritual Spell to his hand then…" Tatsuya aware. "Then…?" Futoshi confused. "A Ritual Summon! It uses Ritual Spell to summon high-level Ritual Monsters!" Tatsuya explains. "I'll have Crystaldine predict your fortune…" Satoru states and Crystaldine start to glow and floats up. Inside of Crystaldine's Crystal Ball, it showed Yuzu and then a dark cloud envelop around her. "Dark clouds of an enormous power are enveloping you…" Satoru said. "I activate the Prediction Ritual from my hand!" He declares and then a pillar landing between Satoru and Yuzu. "With this effect I release the Level 4 Arrowsylph and the Level 5 Crystaldine!" Satoru declares. "The total levels of the two released monsters is 9, which means a Ritual Summoning of the Level 9 Prediction Princess Tarotrei is possible!"He states. "Priestess of ancient times who foresees everything! With the ancient description, now, be revived! Ritual Summon! Level 9! Prediction Princess Tarotrei!" Satoru chants (ATK: 2600). "This is a Ritual Monster!" Yuzu gasps.
"Battle Phase! I attack Arietta with Prediction Princess Tarotrei!" Satoru declares and Prediction Princess Tarotrei launch an attack on Arietta the Melodious Diva, which is destroyed. Yuzu was thrown back, landing on the ring (Yuzu's LP: 1300). Yuzu's supports gasps "Yuzu!" Tatsuya exclaims. "I Set one monster and end my turn!" Satoru declares. "This is bad, if this keeps ups I don't see how I can…No! Why am I talking myself down? I will win, I have to! So I can enter and win the Junior Youth Championship, for my path to be a pro!" Yuzu tells herself. "My turn, Draw!" She declares and Dulcet the Melodious Sorceress. "Alright!" Yuzu exclaims. "What's so good about your divination?" She comments. "I won't be fooled by it!" Yuzu states. "Yuzu!" Yuzu's supporters cheers. "Here comes the Pendulum Summoning!" Futoshi cheers. "I, using the Scale 1 Arial the Melodious Sorceress and the Scale 9 Dulcet the Melodious Sorceress, set the Pendulum Scale!" Yuzu declares. "With this, I'm able to simultaneously summon monsters from Levels 2 to 8!" She states "Swing, pendulum of souls! Draw an arc of light across the ether! Pendulum Summon! Come forth, my monsters!" Yuzu chants. "Mozarta the Melodious Pendulum Maestra! (ATK: 2600) Rayna the Melodious Diva! (ATK: 2600)Glissando the Melodious Diva! (DEF: 2300) Carol the Melodious Diva! (DEF: 2100) Ashira the Melodious Diva!" She decalres (DEF: 2400). "A full field summon, shivers!" Futoshi impressed. "Now here comes the comeback!" Ayu cheers. However, "How ominous…" Satoru unfazed. "What now!?" Yuzu asks. "If you don't know, then let me read your future with the position of your cards!" Satoru tells her. "My future with the position of my cards…?" Yuzu confused. "I sense that your maestra in the center has an aura of uncertainty emanating from it. The maracas is a marker of great power, the flute reflects your feelings beginning to improve. But the accordion shows there are obstacles at your feet, and the harmonica shows that it is a very clever obstacle at that, In other words, your future will be…a large failure, and then your future becomes engulfed in darkness!" Satoru tells Yuzu. "A large failure…" Yuzu mutters.
"Yuzu! You shouldn't listen to that divination!" Tatsuya tries to tell her. "But he's been right on everything up until now!" Ayu notes. "That's…" Tatsuya said. "This occult stuff is giving me the shivers!" Futoshi overwhelmed. "If that's my future, then…I'll change it!" Yuzu, defiant, says. "Yuzu!" Tatsuya cheers. "Fate is already predetermined" Satoru states. "When Carol is Normal or Special Summon: I can target one monster I control and increase its ATK by 300 for each Melodious I control!" Yuzu explains as she uses the effect on Mozarta. "Yuzu has four Melodious on her field!" Tatsuya exclaims. "So the ATK increases is by 1200!" Yuzu states (Mozarta's ATK: 3800). "Battle Phase! I attack Tarotrei with Mozarta!" She declares. "Tarotrei's effect activates!" Satoru counters. "Once, during my opponent's turn, this card can turn one face-down monster to attack position!" He states. "Ehh..?! A Flip Summon in the opponent's turn!?" Yuzu shock. "Awaken! Prediction Princess Petalelf!" Satoru calls out (ATK: 800). "When this card is flip Summoned: it turns all monsters on the opponent's field to defense position!" He explains. "What?!" Yuzu exclaims (Mozarta's DEF: 2000, Rayna's DEF: 1800). "And my opponent can't change their battle position for the rest of this turn!" Satoru adds. "No!" Yuzu gasps. "Now let's have Tarotrei fortune-tell us what future you have in store!" Satoru declares. The Ritual Monster reveals the Tower tarot card "The card Tarotrei has shown is The Tower in Upright Position. The meaning this card holds is collapsing, falling and disaster" Satoru explains. He then had a vision of Yuzu falling off a tower. "Just stop! If you continue what you're doing, your life will be at risk!" Satoru tells Yuzu.
